

KARACHI: Heavy showers lashed different areas of the metropolis on Thursday evening, leaving several streets flooded and most localities without electricity.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that rain will continue in Karachi for the next two hours and there are high chances of rain tomorrow (Friday).
As many as 483 feeders have tripped - plunging a large number of localities into darkness, including Malir, Airport, Liaquatabad, Keemari, Gulshan Iqbal Block 10, Shershah, North Karachi and Federal B Area Block-2.

K-Electric has also received complaints of broken electricity wires due to rain.
The power utility company has advised the people to keep themselves away from electric poles, PMTs and broken electric wires.

No casualties have yet been reported.
Rainwater has flooded the city`s main thoroughfares including Shahra-e-Faisal, near Gora Qabrustan.
Moreover, rainwater has entered houses and mosques of KBR society near Gujjar Nala; roads adjacent to Governor and CM house are reportedly heavily inundated.

Government hospitals have declared rain emergency.
Traffic Police have advised the commuters to ensure that they are driving with proper headlights and dry themselves before driving their vehicles.
Elected district representatives and members of district administration are engaged in draining out the rainwater from their respective mandated constituencies and areas.
