Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim will feature for Durham county in England?s popular domestic cricket competition NatWest T20 Blast this summer.

Imad, who is the world?s number one ranked T20I bowler, will fly to England to represent Durham Jets in the ongoing T20 Blast, subject to him being granted the visa.

The 28-year-old told local media that the stint would be a great opportunity and he is waiting for his visa.

Imad displaced South African spinner Imran Tahir to claim the top spot in ICC T20I bowlers rankings last month.

Umar Akmal was not offered the central contract by the PCB

On Wednesday, he was promoted to Category B of the Pakistan Cricket Board?s new central contract list, from Category C.

Fast bowler Mohammad Amir is already representing Essex in the T20 Blast while former captain Shahid Afridi is playing for Hampshire. Pacer Junaid Khan left for UK earlier this week to feature for Lancashire in the T20 competition.
