What was meant to be an iconic television interview went horribly wrong with both the interviewer and the interviewee ending up being majorly trolled by the public. After almost a decade, the Congress president, Sonia Gandhi gave her first television interview to India Today’s Rajdeep Sardesai. She spoke about a lot of things including PM Narendra Modi, her mother-in-law Indira Gandhi and about her strong belief about the party coming back to power. In fact, she even drew comparisons between Modi and Indira Gandhi.

But, it’s time to accept the fact that people aren’t stupid, they can read between the lines and understand things that aren’t talked about, and that’s exactly what happened here. Both Sonia Gandhi and Rajdeep Sardesai got majorly trolled on Twitter and what was left unspoken got more attention than what was actually discussed in the interview.   

The interview could have been an interesting one but hardly anything was discussed about Emergency or the scams the Congress party was involved in. As a result, people took digs at the “interview of the decade” and criticized it to be a mere chit-chat between the two. Some people even pointed out the time when Sardesai criticized Arnab Goswami for his ‘soft’ interview with PM Modi and how this one was nothing different than that.
