                                کوئی جوگی تھا یا روگی تھا

                                         کیا جوگ سجائے بیٹھاتھا ؟
                                             کیا روگ لگائے بیٹھا تھا ؟

                   تھی چہرے پر زردی چھائی
                   اور نیناں اشک بہاتے تھے

                           تھے گیسو بکھرے بکھرے سے
                             جو دوشِ ھوا لہراتے تھے

                                     تھا اپنے آپ سے کچھ کہتا
                                    اور خود سن کے ھنس دیتا تھا

                                کوئی غم کا مارا لگتا تھا
                                کوئی دکھیاراسا لگتا تھا

                                   اس جوگی کو جب دیکھتے تھے
                                      ھر بار یہی ھم سوچتے تھے

                  کیا روگ لگا ھے روگی کو
                  کس شے کا سوگ ھے جوگی کو ؟

                                اک دن اس نے کوچ کیا
                                اور سارے دھندے چھوڑ گیا

                وہ جوگی ، روگی ، سیلانی
                 سارے ھی پھندے توڑ گیا

                                          پھر اپنا قصہ شروع ھوا
                                         اک مورت دل میں آ بیٹھی

                             نین نشیلے ، ھونٹ رسیلے
                                    چال عجب متوالی سی

                روپ سنہرا ، چاند سا چہرا
                        زلفیں کالی کالی سی

                                        ھنسے تو پائل بجتی تھی
                                        روئے تو جل تھل ھو جائے

                               بینا کی لے تھی لہجے میں
                                 کہ سننے والا سو جائے

                  وہ چلے تو دنیا ساتھ چلے
                      جو رکے تو عالم تھم جائے

                                       ھو ساتھ تو دھڑکن تیز چلے
                                       دوری سے سانس یہ جم جائے

                       کچھ قسمیں ، وعدے ، قول ھوئے
                          انمول تھے وہ ، بِن مول ھوئے

                                 تھے سونے جیسے دن سارے
                                  راتیں سب چاندی کی تھیں

                  امبر کا رنگ سنہرا تھا
                 جہاں قوس و قزاح کا پہرا تھا

                                      اک دن یونہی بیٹھے بیٹھے
                                       کچھ بحث ھوئی ، تکرار ھوئی
