    Touted to be the biggest and the most loved filmmaker of Hindi cinema, Rajkumar Hirani made his Bollywood debut as a director in 2003 with Munna Bhai MBBS starring Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Gracy Singh, Boman Irani & Sunil Dutt.  
    However, a lesser-known fact is that the original choice for the lead role was actually Shah Rukh Khan, and Sanjay Dutt was supposed to do the part finally played by Jimmy Sheirgill in the film.

    Rajkumar Hirani had revealed in an interview that Shah Rukh Khan had agreed to do the film and had even suggested Aishwarya Rai’s name for the female lead. 

    The former Miss World too had shown interest in the film.

    However, due to Shah Rukh Khan’s back problem he had to opt-out of the film.  
    But since SRK had sat with Hirani on several scripting sessions and even gave his inputs that were ultimately added to the film, the King of Bollywood was credited for helping in the script by the director.

    A few years later, Rajkumar Hirani approached Shah Rukh Khan once again for a lead role in his film 3 Idiots. At that time the movie was called Idiot.  

    Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra had revealed in 2007 during the book launch of King of Bollywood by Anupama Chopra: 
    “Firstly, I was never sure about this book on SRK. I didn’t think it was worthy of her time. But having read it, I will say that it’s an outstanding book. In fact, I discovered SRK through this book and I am even doing a film with him now, called Idiot, to be directed by Raj Kumar Hirani.”

    However, things reportedly went sour between SRK & Vidhu Vinod Chopra after the producer mocked Paheli for being selected as India’s official entry for the Oscars. 

    Despite delivering one all-time blockbuster after the other, it seems Shah Rukh Khan was always in Rajkumar Hirani’s mind and his dream of working with the superstar is finally coming true with his upcoming social comedy about immigration. 
    According to a report in Pinkvilla, Shah Rukh Khan will finally begin work on the Rajkumar Hirani film by next week.  
    A source told the website, “Rajkumar Hirani and Shah Rukh Khan are all set to start shooting for this social comedy set against the backdrop of immigration around April 15. A grand set, resembling Punjab, is put up at Filmcity in Mumbai, and that’s where the team will be shooting for a period of around 40 days”.  
    The source further added, “The Mumbai leg of Hirani’s film will be followed by three more schedules in London, Budapest and either the US or Canada. The formalities to shoot at certain spots are being looked upon now. The shooting spots play one important character in the Hirani film. The overseas schedule is expected to start sometime around July”.  
    Let’s just hope things go smoothly this time and we finally get to see the keenly anticipated collaboration between a master filmmaker and one of the world’s biggest superstars.

    Mumbai Indians are the five-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions but this year, their problems seem to have no end.  

    From the form of their captain Rohit Sharma to their death bowling woes, nothing seems to be working for the Mumbai-based franchise at the moment. 
    At the IPL 2022 mega auction, Mumbai let their strike bowler Trent Boult go to Rajasthan Royals and the five-time champions went for injured Jofra Archer, who was already ruled out of this year's competition.

    They are dearly missing that x-factor in their bowling department and to add to their problems, even Jasprit Bumrah is looking out of form. 
    In their recent defeat, Australia all-rounder Daniel Sams got clobbered for 35 runs in his third over by Pat Cummins as the Australia Test captain finished the match with four overs to spare.

    While many fans dissed Sams for his poor bowling, others demanded the inclusion of Arjun Tendulkar, son of legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar. 
    Arjun is an all-rounder and like Sams, he is a left-arm pacer who can tonk the ball if needed. But his lack of experience at the first-class level might be the only reason that has kept him out of the playing XI despite Mumbai Indians not doing well.

    After being brought in from the Rajasthan Royals ahead of the IPL 2021 season, Chennai Super Kings batter Robin Uthappa recently opened up about his initial conversation with MS Dhoni last year. 
    Last season, Uthappa only appeared in four games near the finish of the tournament after being benched throughout the first half. He made an immediate impression with 115 runs in four games and a useful 43-ball 64 against Delhi Capitals in the qualifier one.

    Uthappa was bought back by the Chennai Super Kings for his base price of INR 2 crores in the mega auction 2022, and he batted at number three in the opening game, striking a 21-ball 28 in a low-scoring game. 
    After moving to the top of the order, he continued his fine form with a half-century in the next game and 13 in the third game against Punjab Kings. As he recalls the moments when he arrived at CSK setup, the veteran hitter has been one of the few bright spots for CSK this season.

    Uthappa said he appreciated Dhoni's honesty in telling him that the 36-year-old would not be able to immediately join the CSK playing XI and will have to wait and see how the tournament develops. He went on to say that the CSK coaching staff took great care of him and that they kept him in a positive mindset even when he wasn't playing.
    In a conversation with Ravichandran Ashwin on his YouTube channel, Uthappa confessed that he liked how Dhoni told him on Day 1 of his time at CSK that he will not be given any easy chances and will not get to waltz his way into the Playing XI. He said that the team will have to wait and have to see how their season progresses and if an opportunity arises, he will be informed and expected to step up.

    Kangana Ranaut’s reality show Lock Upp, which has now become ground zero for any rising controversy, has hit the headlines yet again, this time due to a statement (followed by an apology) made by popular contestant Payal Rohatgi. 
    Recently, the contestant was given a special task on the show where she was asked to stay close to another contestant, Zeeshan Khan. During the course of that task, Payal ended up apologizing to him for controversial and offensive statements that she earlier made against him and his religion.

    Rohit Sharma is normally known as a cool and composed leader on the field but when you get off to a poor start as the Mumbai Indians have in the Indian Premier League (IPL), you are bound to get a tad bit frustrated. 
    After an onslaught from Pat Cummins blew away the five-time IPL champions, Rohit failed to control his emotions and snapped at the broadcasters. 
    When the broadcasters were setting up logistics for Rohit's post-match interaction with the commentators, the Mumbai Indians captain, already annoyed with yet another loss, initially, was unable to hear the questions and snapped at the broadcasting team, asking them to increase the volume.

    Fans wasted no time in comparing Rohit's frustration to Virat Kohli's calmness in most post-match ceremonies. 
    Kohli, who is known for his in-your-face attitude, had always maintained his calm while addressing questions even after losing big games internationally as well as in the IPL, where he failed to win a single title with RCB as the skipper, but what we saw from Rohit showed that it is not easy to be the captain when your team is not performing.

    After the match, reflecting on the defeat, Rohit said that it will be a hard one to digest as they thought they had them when Tymal Mills dismissed Andre Russell but Pat Cummins went ballistic as he smashed the joint-fastest half-century in IPL's history (in 14 balls) to help KKR get over the line with four overs to spare. 
    “Never expected him to come and play like that [on Cummins]. Lots of credit. The pitch got better and better to bat as the game went on. It was holding up initially. Overall it was a good pitch. With the bat, we did not start well, in the last 4-5 overs to get 70+ was a great effort from the batting unit. We did not bowl according to the plan. We had the game till the 15th over, but then Cummins was brilliant,” Rohit had said.

    Well, it seems Janhvi Kapoor & Ananya Panday are the new BFFs in Bollywood as the two young actresses were spotted arriving for dinner at a restaurant in Mumbai. 
    While Ananya wore an all-white outfit with a crop top and ripped jeans, Janhvi was seen wearing a sky-blue backless jumpsuit. 
    It was Janhvi’s outfit that caught the attention of the trolls who went after her and called her names.
