A few days before the release of Gangubai Kathiawadi, Kangana Ranaut had taken to Instagram and had slammed the film and its lead star Alia Bhatt.
She had called Alia a “romcom bimbo” and had said that 'Rs 200 crore will be burnt to ashes' once the film releases.
However, a few days later, when the film opened well at the box office, Kangana praised it saying, “Never expected that the movie mafia will rise to the occasion and do something good” in reference to the film helping in the revival of Hindi cinema.

Over its first weekend, Gangubai Kathiawadi did good business and collected Rs 39.12 crore in India. The trade analysts are of the opinion that if the film continues its steady run, it will be the second box office Hit released since the pandemic in 2020.

However, Kangana is not pleased! She took to her Instagram account and shared stories of her elder sister Rangoli who was praising the 2019 release Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and claimed that it is still the biggest first-weekend opener for a female-centric film.
She had written, “No 200 cr budget, no big director, no big hero, no mafia racket PR, no solo release was fighting with films like Uri and Balasaheb Thackeray… only pure talent. The record stands tall and on top.”
Sharing the story, Kangana slammed the “Movie Mafia Mathematics” and wrote without naming Alia or her film, “75 crores film does 43 crores in three days and they call it ultra disaster…160 cr film does 35 cr and it's a super hit”.

In her next story, Rangoli shared the newly released still from Kangana’s upcoming action film Dhaakad and wrote, “Hope Kangana Ranaut breaks her own records with Dhaakad this year.”

Reacting to the story, Kangana wrote, “It's not a fight about me versus them… it's hope ki no system no racket no mafia no paid pr can beat real talent and honest work.”

During the opening episode of Ekta Kapoor’s reality show Lock Upp, host Kangana Ranaut had got into an argument with Payal Rohatgi, who is one of the contestants.

Payal had accused Kangana of using Alia Bhatt’s name and her film Gangubai Kathiawadi to gain publicity.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi, starring Alia Bhatt in the titular role, finally released in the theatres last week after getting delayed several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Upon its release amid huge buzz and expectations, the movie opened to a positive response from critics as well as fans and is performing well at the box office.
    View this post on Instagram
After earning well on Friday (10.50 crores) and Saturday (13.32 crores), Gangubai Kathiwadi witnessed a good jump on Sunday. According to a Box Office Worldwide report, the film grossed Rs 16.50 crores on the third day of its release and has grossed Rs. 40.32 crores in the first weekend. Since there is a partial Mahashivratri holiday on Tuesday, the movie is expected to do well during the weekdays as well.
Before the film's release, Kangana Ranaut had indirectly taken a dig at Alia and Gangubai Kathiawadi makers. Taking to Instagram, the Tanu Weds Manu star called out Bhansali for 'miscasting' Alia. She even called Alia 'papa ki pari' and a romantic 'bimbo'. In her post, Kangana even claimed that Rs 200 crores would go to waste as 'Gangubai' would burn to ashes.

Contrary to her claims, Alia's film has exceeded everyone's expectations. In the first weekend itself, Gangubai Kathiawadi has surpassed the lifetime collections of several films led by Kangana. Let's take a look at the list of such films below:
    1. Thalaivi (2021) View this post on Instagram
The biopic, which was based on the life of Indian actress-politician J. Jayalalithaa, was released in September last year amid the coronavirus pandemic. Upon its release, the film received positive reviews which failed to translate into box office numbers. COVID-19 surely played spoilsport, however, another reason for Thalaivi's dismal performance at the ticket counters was its lesser screen count. Back then, major multiplex chains like INOX Leisure Ltd, Cinepolis, and PVR cinemas refused to screen Kangana's film in North India. The lifetime collection of its Hindi version was a mere Rs. 1.46 crore.
    2. Panga (2020) View this post on Instagram
Directed and co-written by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, the film revolved around Kangana's character of a middle-class railway reservation counter clerk and former Kabaddi champion. After its release in January 2020, the film as well as the actress' performance received a positive response from critics. But, the movie couldn't perform as per expectations. According to Bollywood Hungama, Panga fetched Rs. 28.92 crores in its box office run.
    3. Simran (2017) View this post on Instagram
Released in September 2017, Simran was loosely based on the real-life story of Sandeep Kaur. In the film, Kangana played the role of Praful Patel, a divorced woman, who loses all of her money in a gambling spree. She takes out a loan to fix the damage, but when she can't pay it back, she is pulled into a life of crime. Simran received mixed reviews and failed at the box office. It earned only Rs. 17.26 crores at the box office.
    4. Katti Batti (2015) View this post on Instagram
Moviegoers were waiting for Katti Batti which marked Imran Khan's Bollywood comeback after a long gap. It was among the first few releases of Kangana after the huge success of Tanu Weds Manu Returns. Directed by Nikkhil Advani, the film failed to make a mark at the ticket window and did a business of Rs. 24.41 crores. Post Katti Batti, Imran Khan decided to quit acting.

Kangana's first movie post the success of Queen, Revolver Rani starred Vir Das as the male lead. Helmed by Sai Kabir, the film fetched majorly negative reviews and turned out to be a failure. It fetched Rs. 10.34 crore in its run at the box office.

This is truly a thing our generation may have only witnessed in the movies.
While we have all once spoken about a potential war, well, it's surely not a thing of the past or the future.
It's truly the reality of Ukraine, which is currently being invaded by Russia on the orders of their President Vladimir Putin.

At the back of the Covid-19 Pandemic, the idea of war is insane, however, it's still happening while we watch videos of bombings from the comfort of our homes, the reality of citizens losing their livelihoods and homes to such a travesty is crazy.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is leading the war from the front and looks like the people of the country are following in his footsteps in picking up arms to fight for their country and not flee it.

One such personality who seems to have joined the battle against the Russian invasion is former Miss Ukraine Anastasiia Lenna, who has chosen to join the fight in order to square off against the Russian troops.

Lenna, who had represented Ukraine in the 2015 Miss Grand International beauty contest, had been sharing various Instagram stories addressing the crisis of the invasion.

However, it looks like she has now had enough of it and wants to actually get in on the action.
Many famous personalities and citizens in Ukraine have opted to voluntarily take up arms to assist their country’s military and President Zelenskyy against Russia, and Lenna is the latest addition.
Lenna has shared a series of photos of herself in which she can be seen wearing a uniform while carrying a gun.
In her latest Instagram post, Lenna is seen holding a gun while captioning the post as, "Stand With Ukraine Hands Off Ukraine."
    View this post on Instagram
Not just that, Lenna has also shared a warning for Russian troops, telling them that none of them will be spared if they dare cross the border.
    Posting on Instagram, Lenna wrote,
“Everyone who crosses the Ukrainian border with the intent to invade will be killed!.”
    View this post on Instagram
Lenna had also shared a photo of Ukrainian soldiers walking with their President Zelensky, who she's called a “true and strong leader.”
Lenna, who is a marketing and management graduate from Slavistik University in Kyiv, Ukraine, has been continuously urging for support and for donations to the Ukrainian armed forces.
The beauty pageant/warrior has worked in Turkey - Bodrum, Ankara, and Istanbul as a Public Relations manager and is also said to know five languages.
    Kudos to her bravery!
We really hope that she is successful in defending her country and this crazy war scenario can be called off soon!

If there’s one actor from the Telugu film industry who really knows style, it has to be Vijay Deverakonda. The man truly is a trendsetter.

    © Instagram/thedeverakonda
For a long time, he has been seen with long hair, which he would style in a rather haphazard manner, to give it an unapologetic, “unkempt” appeal.

    © Instagram/thedeverakonda
Well, recently, the actor went for a completely different hairstyle, which, we have to say, makes him completely unrecognisable.

    © Instagram/VijayDFans
Vijay has had a few hairstyles where his hair was relatively shorter but never has he gone for such short hair. Deverakonda started to grow his hair out for Arjun Reddy, the movie that basically placed him on the map as a dependable and bankable star. Arjun Reddy was also the reason why his popularity soared immensely in the Hindi-speaking belts of the country.

    © Instagram/thedeverakonda
Pictures of him sporting very short hair first appeared online when he was seen at a sporting event recently. The actor has basically trimmed off all of his hair and gone for a quasi-crew cut.

Although this hairstyle is definitely a part of one of the characters he will be seen playing in a film, one cannot say for sure, which film is it that made Vijay get rid of the long luscious tresses of hair. There is a good chance that such short hair may be a part of the various looks that he will be donning for Puri Jagannadh’s Liger.

The fact that he’s wearing a cap, also shows that whoever the filmmakers are, they also want to keep his looks for the film under wraps.
Fans of Vijay surely approve of this new hairstyle, and they took to Twitter to convey the same.

Madhuri Dixit made her OTT debut with Karan Johar’s web series The Fame Game that recently released on Netflix. The show garnered mixed to negative reviews with criticism towards its poor execution and unlikeable characters.
However, there is a scene in the show that has now gone viral on social media. In the said scene, Madhuri Dixit, who is playing a superstar, is seen slamming a young star on the red carpet as she tries to mock her.
Madhuri says, “You don't need my blessings really. You young stars these days have PR, stylists, trainers, you have everything. Actually, you don't even need talent, let alone my blessings.”

Taking a screengrab of the scene, a user posted it on Reddit with the caption, “Apply some ice on burnt areas!”

Take a look at the post below:

Soon after the post, one user reacted, “Madhuri would have enjoyed this scene and saying that dialogue.” Another pointed out, “And this series is produced by Dharma...” One user also mentioned something similar, “Ironically Karan produced this”.
Another commented, “I enjoyed the whole conversation between them so much truth being spoken in this series so far”.
One comment read, “Yes, Suhana Khushi Shanaya Alia Jhanvi Sara Alaaya Nyssa Ibrahim Agastya Ayush Karan Deol, Bobby's wooden son...and all other clueless talentless fame chasers should stare at Madhuri's lines!!! But instead, they will tell us they are not nepo products!!”
A user wrote, “Fame Game is like Bollywood trolling itself I like how the writers are using their creative liberties to take shots on Bollywoodwalas without taking their names LMAO”.

Earning rave reviews for her performance in Shakun Batra’s Gehraiyaan, Deepika Padukone is riding on the high of yet another hit added to her kitty.

One of India’s most prominent female actors, Deepika is undoubtedly an inspiration for millions of women across the country and is in a position to share some valuable advice with her legions of fans.
    © Deepika Padukone Instagram
Speaking to Filmfare, Padukone revealed that she has received her fair share of good and bad advice from people across the span of her career.

Starting with a positive anecdote involving Bollywood’s very own, Shah Rukh Khan, she shared, “Shah Rukh (Khan) gives good advice and I got a lot from him. One of the most valuable pieces of advice I got from him was to always work with people you know you are going to have a good time with, because while you are making a movie you are also living life, making memories, and creating experiences.”
It isn’t surprising to hear Shah Rukh sharing such an insightful nugget of wisdom as he’s always been one of those rare stars who always gave solid advice, albeit in his own witty, and sometimes wry style.
Deepika then moved on to inform about the worst advice she had ever received, saying, “The worst advice I received was to get breast implants. I was all of 18 and I often wonder how I had the wisdom to not take it seriously.”
    © Deepika Padukone Instagram
It often makes us wonder who in their sane minds would feel like their opinion mattered enough to suggest a breast implant to anyone, let alone an impressionable 18-year old girl.

Another aspect to be considered in this story is that while Deepika may have managed to successfully steer clear from the pressures of modifying her body to suit someone else’s opinions and needs - and kudos to her for sticking to her ground - other emerging actors may not have the confidence to properly discern such twisted advice.
In the viciously vain industry that is Bollywood, many young starlets often succumb to such influences and end up making up decisions that they would eventually regret in the future.
