Abhishek Bachchan is one of the most underrated actors in Bollywood. He has proved his worth several times on-screen with his powerful and unforgettable performance.Β
However, not just through acting, but he seeps into the skin of the character by transforming his looks too like a chameleon.

Whether it was the role of Dhirubhai Ambani in Guru or Robbie Bhatia in Marmarziyaan, we couldn’t imagine anyone else playing these roles. He played the part as well as looked the part as well. While in most of his films, he had a stubble and short hair, there are some which stood out.

Here are five of the most memorable and iconic looks played by Abhishek Bachchan that completely set him apart from others as an actor:

    1. Bob Biswas Β© Red Chillies Entertainment
His latest release showed him as the character of Kahani, assassin Bob Biswas which was quite different from the roles he has done in his entire trajectory.Β

He rocked a potbelly, had straight long hair and wore glasses to look like a middle-aged man.Β Β
    2. Guru Β© Reliance Entertainment
This is one of his best works where he played industrial tycoon, Dhirubhai Ambani. He sported 1950s fashion and a clean-shaven look for the younger version of the character while wearing his hair grey for the older part.Β

    3. Dhoom Β© Yash Raj Films
His look as a cop in the first film still is fresh in the minds of all 90s kids who immediately became obsessed with black-rimmed glasses and denim jackets. While the movie was all about swag, Junior AB showed he could serve.Β

    4. Manmarziyaan Β© Eros International
Abhishek Bachchan’s character in Manmarziyaan restored women’s faith in arranged marriages.Β

We didn’t think we would ditch Vicky Kaushal for Abhishek Bachchan in a film but his charming and lovable portrayal of Robbie Bhatia stole our hearts.
    5. Dostana Β© Dharma Productions
While the movie is pretty dumb, we loved the two guys in the movie. They are both sweet and handsome all at the same time and have great fashion sense (maybe because they played gay).Β

AB paved the way for floral shirts for men way before it was a trend and kept his signature stubble and short curly hair.

India’s first superstar Rajesh Khanna has starred in several cult classics that he is remembered for today.Β
These include iconic films like Anand, Aradhana, Amar Prem, Haathi Mere Saathi, Kati Patang, Dushman, Roti, Bawarchi etc.Β
However, not many know that besides starring in social and romantic dramas, Rajesh Khanna also played the lead role in a fantasy comedy directed by Shammi Kapoor.Β

In 1976, Shammi Kapoor made his directorial debut with a film titled Bundal Baaz. It was inspired by the fan-favourite tale of Aladdin where Rajesh Khanna played a character similar to the lead in the popular Middle Eastern folk tale that featured in One Thousand and One Nights aka Arabian Nights.Β

While Rajesh Khanna played the lead role, Shammi Kapoor played the role of a genie.Β

The film is about a good for nothing Rajaram who is a daydreamer and a compulsive liar. He has fooled everyone in his college including his girlfriend into believing that he belongs to a rich family.Β

However, soon his life turns upside down and he finds himself doing an odd job of being a rag picker. That’s when he comes across a bottle that is home to a 20-thousand-year-old genie.Β

Since Bundal Baaz was helmed by Shammi Kapoor who was quite tech-savvy and well versed with American pop culture, the film is high on VFX and in fact, is one of the only films to make reference to popular DC superheroes like Batman, The Flash, Superman and Green Arrow. Rajesh Khanna's hostel room has posters and cutouts of several popular superheroes.

Not just that, the opening scene of the film is quite memorable and is straight out of a comic book where Rajesh Khanna is playing Phantom.Β

The reason behind Khanna playing Phantom is that he was a huge fan of the superhero character in real life and his character is shown as a comic book nerd in the film.Β
In his entry scene, he appears in a Phantom costume and takes down a bunch of bank robbers.Β

Take a look at the opening sequence below:Β

Upon its release, the movie failed to make a mark at the box office but over the years has found appreciation from those who watched it.

A video has surfaced online in which the actor is trying to recreate the original steps of the dance sequence on stage, but fails miserably.

The video shows Salman trying his best to perform his popular hook step from the original song featuring Jacqueline Fernandez. But Pooja's short dress made it very difficult. Salman still attempted the step with Pooja, once again, and failed again. The video takes an awkward turn as Salman is seen trying and failing to complete the dance step and ends up laughing. Guess they didn't have proper dress rehearsals before the main event.

Salman got brutally trolled by netizens who called the video cringe and inappropriate. Several users took to Reddit, where the video had actually surfaced. One use put up a comment saying. β€œHe was trying to do the famous step that was with his teeth but the joke was that this dress was short. Poor taste for sure but I am pretty sure it was staged since it’s a really really popular step.” For reference, here’s the video for the original song.

β€œI think there is some step in the original song where he chews on the skirt and dances and here he is trying to show there is nothing to bite on, whatever it is, it’s very weird," said another user.

Madhuri Dixit Nene, who is counted among the most-loved Bollywood actresses, is currently busy promoting her Netflix series The Fame Game. The show has already premiered on the OTT giant and marks her digital debut.Β
Madhuri, also known as the Dhak Dhak girl, entered Bollywood in the 1980s and was at the peak of her career in the 1990s. While she was delivering one hit after another at that time, the actress shocked fans by doing a kissing scene in the 1988 film Dayavan.Β
    View this post on Instagram
Back then, kissing scenes were rarely there in the films and Madhuri's lip-lock with senior actor Vinod Khann courted controversy. Later, she regretted kissing in Dayavan.Β
As reported by a fan website dedicated to the Devdas star, she had reacted to the controversy in an old interview and said, "Well, when I look back, I think I should have just said, β€˜No, I don’t want to do it.’ But then perhaps I got a bit intimidated to doing it. It was like, I am an actress and the director has conceived the scene in a particular way so maybe my not doing it would hamper the narrative".Β

She added, "Also since I was not from a film family background I didn’t know anything about the industry and its operative norms. I didn’t know at that time that you could say no to do kissing scenes. So I did it. But later when I saw the film, I wondered why did I do it? The kiss didn’t add anything to the film. So I decided to put my foot down on doing any more kissing scenes and never did another again".
For the unversed, the actress was regularly seen in films till Devdas in 2002. Post which, she took a break from Bollywood and later made a comeback with Aaja Nachle in 2007. Since then, she has occasionally played full-fledged roles in movies like Dedh Ishqiya (2014), Gulaab Gang (2014), Bucket List (Marathi debut in 2018), Total Dhamaal (2019), and Kalank (2019).Β
