    Oily scalp and greasy hair are the worst. It looks so unflattering and can’t even be hidden unless you cover your entire mane with a cap. 
    People who are blessed with oily hair type know exactly what it feels like (annoying is the word), however, even the normal and dry hair can also often feel much oilier than it’s supposed to be.

    Regardless of what type and texture of your hair you have, there are some slip-ups you could be making that are making your scalp produce more oil and your hair look that way. Don’t worry there is a solution to it.

    Simply avoid making these hair care mistakes that most people overlook and you’d have fresh-looking hair at all times: 

    1. Overstyling Your Hair © iStock
    When you use a bunch of hair products while styling your hair like hair gel, oil and pomade, it can lead to product build-up which is the prime reason it gets oily much sooner. 

    Plus, styling tools can also make your hair greasy and oilier. 
    2. Fiddling With It © iStock
    If you have the bad habit of touching or playing with your strands while talking or simply when you’re bored, you have your answer for why it gets so oily.  

    Touching your hair with your fingers transfers the oil from the skin to your strands. Keep your hands to yourself.  
    3. Overwashing It © iStock
    You might think that washing your hair every day could rid your hair of the excess oil, but what you’re completely missing here is the fact that the scalp is making up for the lost moisture by producing more oil. 

    So, wash your hair, even if it’s naturally oily, every alternate day.
    4. Using A Dirty Hairbrush © iStock
    Your hairbrush or comb accumulates oil and dirt every time you run it through your mane.  

    If it has grime and hair stuck in it, you are bound to make even your freshly washed hair oily when you use it again. Wash your hairbrush every time your wash your hair and always use a clean comb.
