    Whether you love or hate her, the one thing that you cannot do is ignore her. Irrespective of what your views of Kangana Ranaut are, you have to appreciate the fact that she often speaks with no filter, something that takes courage, and the fact that she speaks her mind.

    Just a few days ago, Kangana made headlines when she called out Sanjay Leela Bhansali for ‘miscasting’ Alia Bhatt in Gangubai Kathiawadi. She went on to call Alia, a romantic bimbo, ‘papa ki pari’ and whatnot, and also said that about Rs 200 Crores would go to waste as ‘Gangubai’ would burn to ashes.

    Alia, on the other hand, dealt with these comments with poise and in a dignified manner.

    Well, it seems that for a change, Kangana Ranaut is actually impressed with what the ‘movie mafia’ has managed to achieve. 
    Gangubai Kathiawadi has managed to get a lot of footfalls into theatres and is slowly breathing a new lease of life into the industry. Even though Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi does not come close to the box office opening of Pawan Kalyan’s Bheemla Nayak, the film did have a pretty good opening day collection, of over Rs 11 Crores.

    Taking note of this fact, Kangana took to Instagram to share a cryptic post, which, although does not name Alia or her film, does seem to appreciate the fact that finally, a Bollywood film is seeing some good business at the box office.
    In her post, Kangana wrote, “Happy to hear theatres are being revived in the South film industry with record-breaking collections. I hear some baby steps are being taken in the Hindi belt also. With recent female-centric film which has a big hero and a superstar director.”

    She continued “They may be baby steps but they are not insignificant. They will be crucial for theatres that are on ventilators here. Never expected that the movie mafia will rise to the occasion and do something good. If they do we will be absolutely appreciative. Hoping for the best.”
    Well, it does show that Kangana realises how important it is for all films to do good business at the box office, especially now, that theatres and multiplexes are finally opening up after a gap of about two and a half years.

    Workwise, Kangana is set for two major releases in 2022 - Dhaakad and Tejas. She will also be seen hosting an upcoming reality show called Lock Upp, which will begin streaming on MX Player and Alt Balaji from February 27.

    Ruturaj Gaikwad, the young Indian hitter, has been ruled out of the rest of the T20I series against Sri Lanka. Mayank Agarwal has been picked as his substitute for the remaining two matches by the selectors.
    Gaikwad had complained of wrist pain before the series opener in Lucknow and was evaluated by the BCCI Medical Team, followed by an MRI scan and a specialist consultation. He'll now travel to Bengaluru's National Cricket Academy for further treatment of his ailment.

    Mayank was named to the Indian team for the final two T20Is by the All-India Senior Selection Committee. In Dharamsala, he has already joined the team. Last week, Gaikwad opened the innings with Ishan Kishan in the third T20I encounter of the series against West Indies in Kolkata, where he scored just four runs.
    Fans felt sorry for the 25-year old batter for having a rocky start to his international career. If the injury is severe, it could also mean that he might miss out on playing some bits of the IPL 2022 season for the Chennai Super Kings:

    Pushpa had a great run at the box office, especially in the Hindi speaking parts of the country. While most of the box office success of Pushpa can be attributed to the fact that there was hardly any good film in theatres at around that time, no one can deny the fact that the movie propelled Allu Arjun to a whole new level of stardom.

    The veteran actor of the Telugu film industry has had a couple of dry years, wherein most of his movies managed average collections at best. However, Pawan Kalyan’s most recent venture, Bheemla Nayak opened at the box office with a bang.

    The Telugu film, which also stars Rana Daggubati had one of the strongest box office openings in the post-pandemic era. Despite the fact that it opened alongside Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi, and Ajith Kumar’s Valimai, two of the most anticipated films for years now, Rana & Pawan Kalyan’s Bheemla Nayak did phenomenally well against all these films.

    Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise opened with a rather strong Rs 17 Crores worldwide for its first-day collection. Bheemla Nayak on the other hand opened to Rs 35-37 Crores worldwide. That’s double what Pushpa collected on its first day.

    Prabhas’ Baahubali had an opening of Rs 8.91 Crores, which was surpassed by Prabhas’ film again, Saaho, with an opening of Rs 9.41 Crores. Then came Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise with an opening of Rs 11.44 Crores in Andhra Pradesh.
    As opposed to all these films, Pawan Kalyan’s Bheemla Nayak, raked in Rs 13.65 Crores.

    The official broadcasters for all the Indian cricket matches taking place at the moment have been based on social media platforms for not making creative or interesting advertisements to promote women’s cricket in the cricket-crazy nation.
    On Friday, the broadcasters shared a tweet updating the fans about the upcoming clash between India and Pakistan at the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022. The India-Pakistan rivalry is something every cricket fan looks forward to and it has been historically proven to be a great crowd puller.

    And still, all they managed to share on Twitter was a video clearly prepared in a hurry with a simple background narration talking about the match, its timing and the tournament. There were no creative advertisements, no promos involving any of the Indian women cricketers or even a slideshow of their previous encounters.
    On the other hand, if this would have been a contest between the men’s cricket teams of India and Pakistan, the rivalry would have had a whole ad campaign surrounding it and the ‘Mauka Mauka’ guys would have been back (even though India lost the previous T20 World Cup encounter against Pakistan last year, so unsure of whether or not it will still be relevant now).

    Yes, it is true that men’s cricket attracts a lot more eyeballs than women’s cricket does and therefore it is a practical decision to film high-end commercials featuring male cricketers as that would be more profitable to the company.

    However, as broadcasters, they should also be focused on bringing more people to watch the match on television, if not to increase the awareness of women’s cricket then to simply boost their viewership during the match.
    Nobody is expecting a massive commercial out of the women’s World Cup (which is a shame in itself, really) but to create such a lazy “Mark Your Calendar” type of post for an India-Pakistan World Cup is exactly why Indian cricket fans were upset and called the broadcasters out for it:

    While his special appearances in films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani are considered memorable, fans have forgotten several cameos of him. Below, let's take a look at the list of Salman's cameo appearances which we probably forgot existed:
    Dushman Duniya Ka (1996)
    The film was one of Salman's first cameos, and it also featured Shah Rukh Khan in a special appearance. The Dabangg actor starred in the film as himself. Directed by veteran actor and filmmaker Mehmood, Dushman Duniya Ka featured Jeetendra, Sumalatha, Manzoor Ali among others in pivotal roles. 
    Deewana Mastana (1997)
    The romantic-comedy starring Anil Kapoor, Govinda, and Juhi Chawla also has Salman in a special appearance. For a sequence, the superstar appeared as Prem (his popular screen name) with Juhi (the only time the two have been paired opposite each other in a film). Helmed by David Dhawan, Deewana Mastana also featured Anupam Kher, Shakti Kapoor, Reema Lagoo, Johnny Lever, Kader Khan, and Saeed Jaffrey in supporting roles. 
    Dhai Akshar Prem Ke (2000)
    In the film, starring Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai (ahem ahem!) in the lead roles, Salman appeared as a truck driver. Dhai Akshar Prem Ke was released a year after Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, however, Salman only shared the screen space with Abhishek in it and not Aishwarya. The movie was directed by Raj Kanwar. 
    Isi Life Mein (2010)
    Salman played himself in Sooraj Barjatya's production venture, Isi Life Mein, which marked the Bollywood debut of Akshay Oberoi and Sandeepa Dhar. Reportedly, the superstar did this cameo due to his close bond with Sooraj. For the unversed, the duo has delivered hits like Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Koun among others together. 
    Phata Poster Nikla Hero (2013)
    After making a special appearance in Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani, director Rajkumar Santoshi roped in Salman to do a cameo in his next film, Phata Poster Nikla Hero. Salman and Shahid shared the screen space for the first time in this film which turned out to be a flop at the box office.

    Most of us would do anything to skip showering on a cold winter morning. But then, Vidyut Jammwal isn’t like most of us. Apart from being one of the best martial artists in the world, the man is one seriously tough guy, who regularly goes to all extremes to prove just how seriously he takes fitness.

    Well, he did something similar very recently. Where a normal human being would simply run towards a warm fireplace and hide under a comforter when they see a semi-frozen pond, Vidyut very casually took a dip in one.

    The actor posted a video of his most recent experiment from Gulmarg, where temperatures have dipped below zero degrees.

    In the video, he is seen standing in a thermal jumpsuit and boots, surrounded by snow. He undresses himself and walks very casually towards the pond and takes a dip. Not just that, he actually sits in the pond for some time.
    What’s even nerve-wracking is the fact that Vidyut does all of this without one single frown on his forehead, as if it was just another regular day at work for him.

    Taking a cold compress or icy cold showers is a great way to recover from an injury, and most ailments, but this is taking things too far. This is something only a true adventurer would even dare to do.

    Vidyut’s experiment is a part of a fitness series he has started called “I Train Like Vidyut Jammwal,” wherein he tries to explain that all the lethargy and procrastination that people have about hitting their fitness goals, all of them come from the mind and that it is actually very easy to overcome these sort of challenges.
    While his fans surely did appreciate his latest video, many of them suggested that if the powers that rule Indian TV ever decide to go for a remake of Bear Grylls’ Man Vs Wild in India, Vidyut would be the perfect host for the show.

    And you know what, they’re probably right. Or, if Bear Grylls is looking to retire, Vidyut would be the best choice to pass the baton on to.

    On the work front, Vidyut was last seen in the action-thriller Sanak, opposite Rukmini Maitra, Neha Dhupia and Chandan Roy Sanyal. He will next be seen in Khuda Haafiz Chapter II, for which he is currently shooting across Jammu & Kashmir.
