Jasprit Bumrah is one of the leading fast bowlers in world cricket at the moment. Bumrah's rise as India's best bowler can be credited to Mumbai Indians as they gave him the chance to showcase his skills but it was the hard yards that he put in the domestic circuit that turned him into the force that he is today.

Bumrah oozes confidence whenever he gets the cricket ball in his hand on the field and it started from his days in Ranji Trophy cricket. The pacer, known to bowl yorkers at will, had made a promise to his state team's captain during the 2016-17 domestic season and Bumrah delivered on it.

The Gujarat side was struggling with injuries and had a mammoth task staring at them in the semi-final of the Ranji Trophy. Bumrah's first-ever captain in first-class cricket was Parthiv Patel.

The former India wicket-keeper batter reminisced Bumrah's journey from a bowler with an unorthodox bowling action to the vice-captain of Team India.

"In 2016 Ranji Semis we were left with only 3 bowlers in the 2nd innings due to injuries. Jasprit Bumrah came to me and told 'don't worry, I'll keep bowling from 1 end'. He took 6 wickets in that innings and won us the game with being MOTM," Patel said during an interaction with Cricbuzz.
In that match, Bumrah had a forgettable outing in the first innings as he gave away over 100 runs and picked up just one wicket. Gujarat, who had made 390 in their first innings, gave an 18-run lead to Jharkhand in the semi-final.

The Parthiv Patel-led side had 234 runs to defend but injuries to Rujul Bhatt and Roosh Kalaria left them with just three bowlers. That is when Bumrah stepped up his game and promised to take the side to the final.

Bumarh bowled a 14-over spell and ran through the Jharkhand batting lineup, picking up six wickets for just 23 runs. It was just Gujarat's second appearance in the final of Ranji Trophy.

They went on to lift the trophy for the first time by beating Mumbai in the summit clash. Bumrah did not play the final due to international commitments but it was his spell that opened the door for his side to enter the finals.
Few years later, Bumrah has now become the go-to-bowler for India. Whenever the captain is in need of a breakthrough, Bumrah is called into the attack and the 28-year-old delivers more often than not.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) unveiled the new format for the 2022 edition of the tournament on Friday, which would see the ten teams split into two virtual groups for a total of 70 league matches.
Mumbai Indians, the five-time IPL champions are in Group A (one of out of the two groups that have been implemented this season). MI are joined by the Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, and Lucknow Super Giants in the same group.

Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra described it as the more difficult of the two groups and conceded that Mumbai would be unhappy with the structure in which each team will be played in the IPL 2022.
According to the revised regulations, each team will play its group members twice and the team in the same row as the other group once, while only playing the other four teams once. As a result, Mumbai will face Chennai Super Kings twice and Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings, and Gujarat Titans once each.
In a new format for the IPL, the 10 teams have been divided into two "virtual" groups for the league phase

    Here's how it will work: https://t.co/nnjZbUSQCL pic.twitter.com/qk94wc9Fv7
    — ESPNcricinfo (@ESPNcricinfo) February 25, 2022
Aakash shared his ideas on his YouTube channel, predicting that Mumbai will face the harder squads twice during the league round and the lesser teams once. MI will face Kolkata, Rajasthan, DC, and Lucknow twice. In addition, they will face CSK twice. All of the strong teams will be played twice, however, the Sunrisers, RCB, Punjab, and Gujarat Titans will only be played once. This according to Chopra, will upset skipper Rohit Sharma and his teammates a bit.
The former India opener also stated that he prefers the model to the one employed by the Indian T20 league over the one that is commonly used by the International Cricket Council (ICC) during World Cup competitions, in which the top teams from each group advance to the knockout stages.
Teams will be playing in the format of 7 home and 7 away games in IPL 2022.

It's hardly a guarantee that the theoretically best teams from each group will make the playoffs in this scenario. Because each club will play each other at least once, the top four will be determined by the points earned in all 14 matches.
The IPL 2022 will take place in Maharashtra, with three venues in Mumbai and one in Pune, starting on March 26.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi has largely received positive reviews from most movie-going audiences, with many of them calling the film, one of SLB’s finest films in years. Alia Bhatt, too, is getting similar reviews.

However, there are those who feel that the actress was miscast in the film, mainly because of how she looks. Not just her, there have been a number of films where audiences have felt that the casting could have been better, and where certain actresses were miscast.

    © T-Series
We take a look at a few such films, where audiences felt that the actress in the film was rather miscast, in spite of their strong performances.

    1. Shraddha Kapoor - Haseena Parkar © AA Films
Haseena Parkar was the biopic of Dawood Ibrahim’s sister and chronicled the role that she played in Mumbai’s underworld. Shraddha Kapoor essayed the role of Haseena in the film, after having prepared for it with tons of research and workshops. She even managed to give one of her career’s best performances. However, most audience members felt that she was miscast in the film.

    2. Katrina Kaif - Jab Tak Hai Jaan © Yash Raj Films
Fans of Bollywood have always appreciated just how gorgeous Katrina Kaif looks on screen and were very excited to see her being cast opposite Shah Rukh Khan, and being directed by the legendary director, Yash Chopra. However, many people still believe that Katrina does not have the acting chops that the role demanded, and was miscast in the film. They believe that her role should have been given to an actress who could portray an emotionally strong, and charged character.

    3. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan - Sarbjit © T-Series
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan played the role of Dalbir Kaur in the 2016 film, Sarbjit. The actress’ performance in the trailer had impressed a lot of people, but when the film came out, most movie-going audiences felt that Aishwarya was miscast in the film, for a very bizarre reason. They felt that the “unglamorous look” that Aishwarya took up was very jarring.

    4. Nargis Fakhri - Rockstar © Eros International
Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar will go down in the books as one of Bollywood’s most iconic films for a number of reasons. From the songs to Ranbir’s acting in the film - there are many reasons why people still love this film. One aspect that fans did not appreciate, however, was the performance given By Nargis. Audience members felt that the role should have been taken up by an actress who had some experience and could act in the numerous emotionally challenging scene.

    5. Parineeti Chopra - Saina © T-Series
The casting for Saina Nehwal’s biopic had always been in limbo. Firstly, there was this whole incident where Shraddha Kapoor had started shooting for the lead but was replaced midway. Then, there is the entire fiasco of how Parineeti looked in the film. Perhaps this is why audiences felt that Parineeti was miscast in the film. To be fair to Parineeti though, it was one of her best performances to date.

    6. Alia Bhatt - Gangubai Kathiawadi © Pen India Limited
The most recent actress to be added to this list has to be Alia Bhatt. While many people are calling Gangubai Kathiawadi one of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s finest films in years, a lot of people believe that Alia was miscast in the film. Audiences across the country say that Alia has a rather childlike appearance, because of which she couldn’t do justice to the role. Right when the trailer was released, people have been saying that the role should have gone to Vidya Balan.

The BCCI has created a three-member committee to investigate a senior journalist's alleged threat to Wriddhiman Saha for refusing to give an interview.
While Saha originally declined to identify the journalist in a Twitter thread on February 23, it is reported that he is now willing to expose the writer's identity and has consented to an investigation.
After all of my contributions to Indian cricket..this is what I face from a so called “Respected” journalist! This is where the journalism has gone. pic.twitter.com/woVyq1sOZX
    — Wriddhiman Saha (@Wriddhipops) February 19, 2022
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has today created a three-member committee to investigate into the situation of Wriddhiman Saha getting threats and intimidation from a senior journalist, according to a press release from the Indian cricket council.

The release also mentioned that BCCI Vice-President Mr Rajiv Shukla, BCCI Treasurer Mr Arun Singh Dhumal, and BCCI Apex Council Member Mr Prabhtej Singh Bhatia make up the three-member committee. The group will begin its work as soon as next week.
1/3- I was hurt and offended. I thought not to tolerate such kind of behaviour and didn’t want anyone to go through these kind of bullying. I decided I will go out and expose the chat in public eye, but not his/her name
    — Wriddhiman Saha (@Wriddhipops) February 22, 2022
A screenshot of a chat containing uncomfortable words from a journalist urging him to grant an interview was shared by the Indian wicketkeeper-batsman about a week ago. When it came to conducting an interview, the journalist instructed Saha to "pick whoever can help" when he was dropped from the team for the next two-Test series against Sri Lanka.
The contempt and audacity with which the nameless journalist was speaking to the Indian cricketer not only upset but also surprised the Indian cricket team's fans.
2/3- My nature isnt such that I will harm anyone to the extent of ending someone’s career. So on grounds of humanity looking at his/her family, I am not exposing the name for the time being. But if any such repetition happens, I will not hold back.
    — Wriddhiman Saha (@Wriddhipops) February 22, 2022
For all that he has contributed to the squad and the game, Saha remains one of the most well-respected players to have played international cricket for the country, and he has the backing of millions of fans.

However, once the news around the three-member investigative committee was made public by the Indian cricket board and the issue caught national attention, a lot of fans of the Men in Blue expressed that they were absolutely sure that nothing fruitful or actual would come out of the so-called investigation.
It's an old three card trick to deflect attention. We the people have short memory
    — Rajesh mudras (@MudrasRajesh) February 25, 2022If Rajiv shukla is there in the committee , I ll tell now itself player will be found guilty.
    — TV Sivaraman (@SivaramanTvs) February 25, 2022Didn't overplay it at all.
    — Nayan (@WeTheHerd) February 25, 2022They felt that the outspoken journalist will somehow manage to remain unnamed, and there will be absolutely no solace for Saha, despite going through the pressure of potentially jeopardising someone’s career - the very hesitation he had felt and the very reason why he had declined to expose his name until ahead of the investigation.
