    Call it old fashioned or whatever you will, nothing comes close to the grace that a well structured and elegantly draped saree embodies. And, if you ask us, of the current lot of actresses in Bollywood, it is Alia Bhatt who comes to our mind when we ask, who pulls off a saree in the most elegant way.

    It would be an understatement to say that some of her recent photos in sarees have made men go weak in the knees. We totally see why so many men, and in fact even women, have such a huge crush on her.

    There’s something transcendental about grace and elegance that crosses generations and genders. Especially when you consider the simplistic as well as opulent sarees that she has worn in her recent film, Gangubai Kathiawadi.

    We take a look at some instances when Alia Bhatt and her sarees made most of us gawk on, with awe.

    Before everything else, do keep in mind that this image is from Berlin, where the actress attended the premiere of Gangubai Kathiawadi, at the 72nd Berlin Film Festival. She looks suave as anyone can possibly be, in a rather exquisite white embroidered saree.

    Wearing anything with a multicoloured print is always risky. However, Alia makes this vibrant piece from Sabyasachi with those sequin borders look chic. We especially like the bohemian aesthetic that she went for.

    People who are familiar with fabrics will know just how difficult it is to style organza. The fabric is flimsy, transparent, and tricky to work with. And yet, Alia looks as majestic as the moon in this ivory-coloured silk & organza saree from Devnaagri.

    This is a picture from back in the day when movie promotions were really something. Alia was seen wearing this elegant handwoven piece from Bandhej, while promoting Kalank. The saree has some beautiful strokes of coral, sage green, and pink hues, which gives it a rather aristocratic flair.

    The biggest celebrity *** scandal in entertainment is probably the infamous *** tape starring Kim Kardashian and Ray J. Even after over 15 years, the tape continues to make headlines and is also one of the most streamed celeb tapes of all time.

    While both the stars involved in the *** tape apparently denied having anything to do with its release, according to a report in The Sun, Hollywood’s celebrity *** broker, Kevin Blatt revealed some details on how it ended up being a money-making machine. He was keen on buying the tape from Ray J back in the day. Blatt was also known for brokering Paris Hiton’s *** tape with Rick Salomon. "Ray J told me She wants to be bigger than Paris,” Blatt said. "I told him, Ray J, you cannot let her release it for free - don’t let her do that,” he said.

    He also mentioned the revenue it generated. According to the report, Blatt reported that Kim probably made over $20 million (which is over Rs 149 crore!).  Additionally, he added that the tape was edited and a lot of scenes were also deleted.

    A quality fast-bowling all-rounder has always been the ‘Achilles Heel’ of the Indian cricket team. It’s a skillset that is not common in India and that’s why, after Kapil Dev no other player has been able to cement this spot as his own.
    Impressed with his batting skills, former head coach Gregg Chappell tried to mould Irfan Pathan in that role and pushed him up the batting order. For a while, it seemed as if the Men In Blue had found their men but this happiness didn’t last very long.

    Pathan sure had potential to deliver with the bat but the problem was that before breaking into the Indian team he didn’t focus much on his batting. It was only after he got into the Indian team that he started to spend more time in the nets, honing his secondary skills.
    There are fans who strongly believe that too much emphasis on his batting is what led to his downfall in international cricket. He was a gifted bowler who could swing the ball both ways but in trying to become a world-class batter, his bowling lost its shine.

    In between the management tried several seam-bowling all-rounders like Stuart Binny but they all failed to make any mark and soon perished.
    Then came Hardik Pandya and he was straightaway deemed by many as the ‘next Kapil Dev’. There was no doubting his power-hitting skills but his bowling was still a work in progress.

    To his credit, the Baroda all-rounder worked hard on his bowling and became an integral part of the Indian team across all three formats. He was now winning us matches with both bat and ball and became one of the most valuable assets of the Indian team. Irrespective of which format we played, he was the first name on the team sheet alongside Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah.

    Given what he brought to the table, some had even started joking that the team management should wrap him in cotton wool because if they lose him, they would be doomed.

    Two years of rigorous cricket at the highest level broke Pandya’s body down and he had to undergo a lower back surgery. At the time most people, including Hardik himself, were confident that he would be back in no time but nobody knew this wait would last this long.

    Hardik’s absence created a void in the Indian team that seemed hard to fill. After all, it’s a skillset that is scarcely available in our domestic circuit. But there is something about Indian domestic cricket and Indian Premier League (IPL) that never ceases to amaze us. It keeps on producing gems year after year.

    India’s search for its next fast-bowling all-rounder who could take Hardik’s place seems to have come to an end.
    Given his performances in the just-concluded T20I series against the West Indies, we can safely say that Venkatesh Iyer is that guy. The Madhya Pradesh all-rounder, who plies his trade for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL, emerged as one of the stand-out performers for the hosts as they registered a 3-0 clean sweep over the Carribeans.

    What’s more satisfying was the fact that the KKR opener showcased great nerves of steel and played a few impactful knocks, all under extreme pressure. He scored 92 runs (24*, 33, and 35*) in three innings and got out only once. Apart from his batting, he also bowled some crucial overs and returned with two wickets.

    Although he is fairly new to international cricket, he has already shown that he has what it takes to succeed at the highest level. After Deepak Chahar walked off the field after suffering an unfortunate injury in the middle of his opening spell, Iyer filled in his shoes nicely and provided two crucial breakthroughs, dismissing two of their senior-most players Kieron Pollard and Jason Holder.

    Nobody knows if and when Hardik will return to the Indian team. The chief selector Chetan Sharma has already made it clear that the Gujarat Giants captain would be picked only after attaining full fitness and proving that he is ready to contribute with both bat and ball. This comes after last year’s T20 World Cup where their massive punt led to a huge embarrassment.

    The selectors and the BCCI President Sourav Ganguly wanted him to play Ranji Trophy ahead of the IPL and he turned blind eye to their advice.

    Everybody who watched Iyer bat and bowl against the Windies felt that it wouldn't be easy for the selectors to ignore him from here on. They believe Hardik, who has often been accused of taking his place in the side for granted, has finally found a worthy competitor and after this series the MP all-rounder has sealed his place as India’s first-choice all-rounder.

    Hardik Pandya has six knocks of SR > 180 (min 10 balls faced) in T20Is.

    In five innings (min 10 balls), Venkatesh Iyer already has three.
