    Wriddhiman Saha accused an unnamed journalist of threatening him after he declined his request to agree to give an interview. Saha took to Twitter to share a screenshot of the chat with the journalist. 
    In the screenshot, the journalist was pressuring Saha to do an interview with him after he was left out of the Test series against Sri Lanka. The journalist even urged Saha to ‘choose whoever can help the most’, showing off his power and connections inside the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

    Many former cricketers including Aakash Chopra, Harbhajan Singh and Pragyan Ojha have urged Saha to name the journalist so that necessary action can be taken against him. However, Saha has kept mum since then.
    According to a report by The Times Of India, the BCCI is looking into the matter and the board will take action against those who are found guilty. 
    "Saha is a contracted cricketer of the BCCI. The onus is on the Board to not let its own player down. That aside, if there is any kind of a nexus at work here, one has to look into it," BCCI officials were quoted as saying by The Time of India.

    Saha, in an interview with ESPNcricinfo, had said that BCCI president Sourav Ganguly called him up after his gritty knock against New Zealand in Kanpur and assured him that he doesn’t need to worry about his place in the side till the time he is at the helm of BCCI. 
    Reacting to these comments, Board officials expressed their unhappiness over the matter and said that the Board president giving assurance to a player about his place in the side is a blatant misuse of power.
    "The Rahul Dravid-bit is understandable. He's the national coach and may have wanted to keep his players in the loop. That's between the coach and the players. What was the need for a BCCI official to speak with Saha and assure him of a place in the side? I don't need to worry till he's there. Kitni galat baat hai yeh (How wrong it is to say something like this)," BCCI officials said.

    Ever since Ganguly took over the role of BCCI president, his decisions have caused a lot of stir. Lack of communication was a big factor that led to the fiasco that transpired between him and former India captain Virat Kohli.
    Ganguly himself had recently said that he doesn’t influence the selection, however, Saha’s comments tell a whole different story.
    It is good that the BCCI is looking to investigate the whole matter after Saha came out in public and called out a journalist who threatened him. Such treatment to a player who has represented India at the international level is a worrying sign for Indian cricket.

    For the unversed, Shakuntala was the daughter of Meneka and Rishi Vishwamitra, according to Hindu mythology. Rishi Kanva, her teacher, resided in a jungle with her. She fell in love with King Dushyant after meeting him in the jungle. After getting married, Dushyant abandons her in the forest after she gives birth to their child (who eventually becomes King Bharat), promising to return for her shortly. Dushyant, on the other hand, forgets about Shakuntala due to a sage's curse, until fate reunites them again.
    Coming back to Samantha, she has various interesting projects in her kitty including Yashoda (Telugu), and Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal (Tamil). Post The Family Man 2, she is expected to team up with Raj & DK again for the Citadel spin-off.

    For context, I must add that this is coming from a certain incident that took place in the UK where a pilot had to land an airplane in the middle of a storm that is currently wreaking havoc in the country.
    Captain Khalifa Al-Thani was travelling from Doha, Qatar, to London, England when he was caught in the middle of the chaos that storm Eunice was spreading in the UK.
    Landing Boeing 777 during Storm Eunice wasn’t going to be an easy feat, but even the odds didn’t deter captain Khalifa Al-Thani who maintained his calm until he had landed the aircraft and everyone in it safely to the ground.

    Several videos were being shared of the chaos in the air where airplanes were struggling to land, and Big Jet TV managed to release one such video that has now gone viral owing to the overwhelming landing of the Boeing 777. In fact, Al-Thani went ahead to post footage of himself during the landing, where he could be seen proceeding with both- calm and caution.
    Sharing the video on Instagram, Al-Thani wrote, “Storm Eunice Landing - Huge thanks to ‘Big Jet TV’ for the awesome coverage today and the exterior footage.” And what came next were lauding comments from people who called the pilot one with ‘nerves of steel’.

    The former all-rounder, whose coaching tenure with Team India ended last year, urged the BCCI chief Ganguly to find out and expose the identity of this person, who thought he had the right to mess with a player like Saha, who is an ‘ultimate team man’.

The much-awaited wedding of Anil Ambani’s son, Jai Anmol Ambani and Khrisha Shah finally concluded yesterday and yes, from whatever we can see on social media, it was a starry affair.

    Wriddhiman Saha took the cricket fraternity by storm as he unveiled the hard discussions head coach Rahul Dravid, team management and chief selector had with him as the wicket-keeper batter was dropped from the Test squad for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. 
    Saha, in an explosive interview after being left out of the Test team, had said that Dravid had suggested he consider retirement after the Team India head coach conveyed management's decision to the wicket-keeper batter.

    Saha, 38, was left out of the Test squad along with a few other senior cricketers -- Ishant Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane. 
    Chief selector Chetan Sharma, while announcing the squad, said that all four players were told to go and perform in Ranji Trophy to make a case for themselves.
    Saha, regarded as one of the best wicket-keepers in the country, was disappointed with his exit from the Test squad and had said that the selectors and management told him that from now on he will not be considered for red-ball cricket as the team is looking to groom youngsters. 
    Dravid, after the T20I series win against the West Indies in Kolkata on Sunday, opened up on his tough discussion with Wriddhiman Saha and said that the 37-year-old needed clarity and he didn't want Saha to learn about his ouster from the media. 
    “I’m actually not hurt at all, because I have deep respect for Wridhhiman Saha and his achievements, his contribution to Indian cricket. My conversation with him actually came from that place. I think he deserved honesty and he deserved clarity," Dravid said during the post-match press conference. 
    During Ravi Shastri's tenure, players used to complain that they were kept in dark on their ouster from the side. From dropping Ambati Rayudu just before the World Cup to leaving out Kuldeep Yadav completely from the setup, many decisions were criticised.

    Chetan Sharma, in his address to the media, had said that he told Saha as well as the three other senior pros to play Ranji Trophy and they are not being considered for the two Tests against Lanka but the doors are open for them. 
    On the other hand, Saha said that he was told he will not be considered 'from now on'. He said it meant that no matter how many runs he scores or how many centuries he hit in domestic cricket, the door is closed for him and his performance and fitness had nothing to do with it.

    For the unversed, Gehraiyaan was on the second spot in the list of most-watched OTT/film in the first week of its release. Richa Chaddha's Disney+Hotstar series The Great Indian Murder had beaten Deepika's film to bag the top position in the list.
