You know that feeling when youβre quietly sitting in your room, minding your own business and suddenly your mom or dad barges in, reprimanding you terribly for something your older brother might have done?
That urge to ask them to stop or simply storm out of the room is real, as is the frustration of being held accountable for something that wasnβt even your fault, to begin with.Β
via GIPHY
Now, imagine, an entire gender being made to feel a similar kind of exasperation and subjected to such unfair treatment.Β
A sentiment that up until now was only reserved for women, but is now being passed on to the men, for they continue to face the brunt of misandryΒ that βwoke feministsβ often confuse for βfeminismβ.
Β© Kiera Breaugh
To give you context, we are here to talk about a certain TikTok video that went viral where a woman named Kiera Breaugh, urged women to βmake menβs pockets hurtβ.Β
Giving out her two cents on why women must not and shouldnβt be expected to pay 50/50 on dates with men, Kiera ended up opening a dialogue that needed as much attention as it did some insight.
View this post on Instagram
Calling the concept of splitting the bill on dates as βone of the most insidious and ridiculous effects of the patriarchy,β Kieraβs argument was, βThe fact that men expect women to pay 50/50 when women don't get 50% of anything? [Not] 50% of the money, 50% of the privilege, 50% of the safety, 50% of the space they're allowed to take up, none of that. But, pay. Pay equal amounts even though you don't have equal rights. Do you understand how ridiculous that is?"
And to that, I (a feminist woman) would say NO. I donβt understand how ridiculous that is, and here is why that is.
The debate here is clearly not about invoking equality in everyday actions but taking revenge on each man, whether or not they contributed to the patriarchy.Β
Just because women were denied equal rights and equal pay for decades on end, doesnβt mean that they are entitled to take that anger and frustration out on men who probably arenβt sexist to start with.Β Β
View this post on InstagramYes, the gender gap is real. The pay gap is real. But the medium to raise a voice against that is with the senior management and HR of that company and not the next-door guy you decide to go out on a date with.Β Β
Knowing what feminism is and knowing where to bring it in are two different things, one that this woman and everyone who supported her, missed out on dearly.Β
And to be honest, the victim card is getting too old to play each time to get your way. And this is coming from an independent feminist woman like myself, who wouldnβt mind splitting the bill with my date because I understand just because centuries ago men dominated our kind, doesnβt make me entitled to making the guy sitting in front of me - feel like shit.Β
However, the woman in the TikTok goes on to say, βWhy are we starting with women pretending like they're equal, before they get equal? Because it benefits men. It benefits men to say, 'Oh yeah, I'm a feminist, I believe in women paying 50/50 on dinner dates.' And that is the only time they believe in equality."
View this post on Instagram
And to sum it all up, she concludes the video by saying, βMake his pockets hurt," and all it did manage to hurt was the years-long of the fight of women towards attaining actual equality, because women as uninformed and linear like her, take the entire feminist movement years back.Β
via GIPHY
Just like the law canβt avenge the crimes of a father on his son, we canβt take out our resentment on society and the kind of entitled men women have encountered over the years, on just any man we go out with.Β
The way towards equality is not asking for compensation or a handout in every sphere of life, but asking for an opportunity to reach there - fair and square.Β
Equality doesnβt come by exploiting men and the concept of βchivalryβ to get your bills paid. In fact, as a true feminist, simply doing that should irk something inside of you, knowing that your intent is simply vengeful and not to support a cause.Β
via GIPHY
I get it. If this notion were to come at me two decades ago, Iβd probably have cheered it on. But now, when I see change taking place and women finally climbing up the ladder without any hindrance from a man, itβs not the time to be petty and preach of βmisandryβ in the blanket of feminism.Β
At the end of the day, a man shouldnβt feel obligated to pay for you just like a woman shouldnβt feel obligated to pay the man in kind.Β Β
And if you really want to be treated equally, it canβt happen if youβre still asking for handouts.Β Β
via GIPHY
Get up, pay for your own share and raise a voice for equal pay just as fiercely at the company youβre working at, not at the dinner table in front of a guy who simply wanted to go on a date with you.Β Β

Ever since its release, Spider-Man: No Way Home is breaking box office recordsΒ left, right and centre. It is already the sixth highest-grossing Hollywood film of all time at the worldwide box office and fourth highest at the US box office.Β
Thatβs not all, besides breaking numerous box office records, Spider-Man: No Way Home has also entered Guinness World Records thanks to the return of Tobey Maguire and Willem Dafoe as Spider-Man and Green Goblin, respectively.Β
Β© Sony Pictures
The two first played the iconic characters back in 2002 in Spider-Man. And now, by making a comeback to the same characters with Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021, they now have the longest careers as live-action Marvel characters.Β
The record was earlier held by Hugh Jackman and Sir Patrick StewartΒ who first played Wolverine and Professor X in the 2000 film X-Men and last played in the 2017 blockbuster Logan. A career as Marvel characters spanning 16 years and 232 days.Β
Β© Disney
Tobey Maguire and Willem Dafoe have trumped that by a margin. The difference between their first and last appearances as Spider-Man and Green Goblin is now 19 years and 225 days.Β
Tobey is expected to leave behind Willem Dafoe once Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness releases in May 2022 as there are strong rumours that he is making a comeback as Spider-Man once again.Β
However, there are also rumours that Hugh Jackman may return as Wolverine in a cameo. If that happens, he will once again take the top spot from Tobey Maguire.Β
Β© Sony Pictures
As for Spider-Man: No Way Home, the film has so far collected $1.694 billion at the global box office. It is trailing behind Avengers: Infinity War, Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, Titanic, Avengers: Endgame and Avatar, which is the highest-grossing film of all time.Β
At the US box office, the film has collected $723.9 million and is trailing behind Avatar, Avengers: Endgame and Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens. However, it will soon surpass Avatar to become the third highest-grossing film in the US.Β
Besides Tobey Maguire and Willem Dafoe, Spider-Man: No Way Home also marked the return of Alfred Molina, Jamie Foxx and Andrew Garfield among others.Β

The film stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon and Benedict Cumberbatch in the lead roles.

Jr. NTRΒ is a mega star who enjoys a stellar fan following across the globe. With his upcoming RRR, the actorβs craze in North India has been elevated as his North Indian fans will get to see him in a pan-Indian film.
View this post on Instagram
Besides his acting nuances, the superstar is known for being a humble man and enjoys a wonderful reputation amongst fans and the film fraternity. Few years ago, he was approached to star in a film called Oopiri, which also had Nagarjuna and Tamannah Bhatia. Directed by noted director Vamshi Paidipally, the film is based on the French movie The Intouchables. The film follows a millionaire entrepreneur who is a paraplegic (played by Nagarjuna), who hires a convict as his caretaker. The movie chronicles the bond formed between them.
The caretakerβs role was originally offered to Jr NTR and various rumours floated around circling the reason why he didnβt take it. Most reports claimed it was a date issueΒ Β and he was unable to take this project, even after giving it a nod. However, there were reports that claimed that one of the reasons why the actor wasnβt too keen to take this role was due to one of the scenes, which involved the caretaker removing the millionaireβs socks and touching his feet.
Few websites claimed that he was concerned that his fans might not like it and it may not go down well with themΒ . Jr NTR'sΒ fan base loves him ardently and the actor always takes into account what the audience wants to see from him.Β The role was eventually played by actor Karthi, who did a fantastic job.Β

KL RahulΒ has established himself as one of the key members of the Indian cricket team across all three formats.
His international career has seen a massive turnaround in the last one year. At the start of 2021, he was not sure if his place in the starting XI was secure or not but things turned out in such a way that by the end of the year he was tasked with leading the side against South Africa.
View this post on Instagram
From being included in the side as a back-up opener for England tour to becoming the first-choice opener across all formats, the Karnataka batter couldnβt have wished for things to unfold any better.Β
Waitβ¦ thatβs not entirely true. There was one thing he would have loved to pan out differently. You see, whenever he stepped onto the field as the captain, India ended up losing that match.
View this post on Instagram
Considering his individual performances, no doubt he had a memorable year but his biggest regret must be that he couldnβt guide India to victory neither in Test nor ODIs.Β
Ever since India suffered a whitewash in the ODI series, people have been raising questions over his leadership skills.Β
Many experts have publicly criticised his captaincy and now former India cricketer and current MoS Youth Affairs and Sports of West Bengal Tiwary has also shared his views on the same.Β
View this post on Instagram
Rather than mincing words, Tiwary slammed the selectors and asked them what they saw in him before entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the squad.
βWhat did you see in Rahul as captaincy material? Suddenly, they're saying that they're βgroomingβ him as a future captain. I don't understand how you can groom a captain,β Tiwary told Sportskeeda.Β
View this post on Instagram
Reacting to the reports that claimed that the selectors wanted to groom Rahul as a future leader, the former West Bengal skipper said that leadership is an in-born quality, some people have it and some donβt.Β
βA person is either a born leader or he isn't. Captaincy comes naturally, it's an inbuilt quality. Grooming a captain is possible, but the process will take a long time. It will take a player around 20 to 25 games to learn about decision-making, but even then success will not be guaranteed. See, every international match is important for India.βΒ
View this post on Instagram
The former right-handed batter, who played 12 ODIs for India, said that more than Rahul he was disappointed with the selectors for choosing the wrong person to lead the side.Β
βI'm not blaming Rahul for his captaincy, but I'm disappointed with the selectors, who should identify leadership skills in a player rather than βgroomingβ a captain. That's why I want to ask the selectors what they saw in Rahul to make him the captain of India,β he added, lambasting the five-member national selection panel chaired by Chetan Sharma.Β
View this post on Instagram
Leading the side for the first time, KL Rahul did look cluelessΒ at times but it doesnβt mean he doesnβt have what it takes to become a leader. We shouldnβt judge him based on one series defeat; itβs too immature.

The never-ending debate over who should be Virat Kohliβs successorΒ in Test cricket has reached the Caribbean shores and former West Indies captain Darren Sammy has weighed in on who should be the next red-ball captain for India going forward.Β
Sammy, who is in Oman for the ongoing Legends League Cricket, said that under Rohit Sharma, Indian cricket is in safe hands and the 34-year-old has all the skills to take the team forward.Β
World Cup winning Captain Darren Sammy said (To PTI),"Rohit Sharma has been an excellent captain,he is a good motivational leader. I have watched him captaining Mumbai Indians in the IPL. I am not worried about Indian cricket. Itβs in very good hand". #RohitSharma | #INDvWI pic.twitter.com/Mao0aiqhZk
β Rohit Sharma Fanclub India (@Imro_fanclub) January 28, 2022
Sammy compared Rohit's captaincy style with the likes of MS Dhoni and Gautam Gambhir and said he knows how to win titles.Β
βRohit has been an excellent captain (with Mumbai Indians), a good motivational leader. I've watched him captaining Mumbai in the IPL. He's among the captains who have won like MS Dhoni, (Gautam) Gambhir,β Sammy said.Β Β
βAll these guys can manage to get performances from their teammates. These captains normally get results and win trophies. I'm not worried about Indian cricket. It's in good hand,β the 38-year-old added.

However, fans did not agree with Sammy and pointed out how Rohit has missed big tours due to injury, including the recent one of South Africa where Team India missed him dearly and lost 1-2 in the three-match Test series and suffered a clean sweepΒ in the ODI series.Β
He should not give injury excuses on overseas tour then

β Vβ’ (@vase556) January 28, 2022In good hands?
Man will get injurd after every series
β (@GoatBowler) January 28, 2022Β Sammy gave an example of last yearβs Indian Premier League while backing up his claim about Rohit.Β Β
The former West Indies skipper highlighted how MS Dhoni did not do much with the bat last season but still when the team needed something special from him, he delivered the goods β scoring 18 runs off just six deliveries against Delhi Capitals in the playoff.Β Β
"You see guys like MS... He didn't do much the entire season but when the team needed him to fire in the playoffs, he was out there in full flow," Sammy said.
After the drubbing in the Rainbow nation, Team India will take on the West Indies in a three-match ODI series, starting February 6. And it will be the first time Rohit will lead the team as the full-time skipper in the 50-over format.Β
The ODI series will be followed by a three-match T20I series.
