While the wild anticipation and the long wait time coupled with the super impressive star cast are some of the reasons that have catapulted RRR as one of the most awaited movies, one more thing that knocked everyone's breath out is the sheer fitness the leads have displayed in the trailer. While Jr NTR is super impressive in his own right, Ram Charan took things to a whole new level.

Be it the boxing scene or the scene with him flying and shooting arrows while being engulfed in flames, his rippling muscles and rock hard abs are an absolute vision.

The question arises, how can mere mortals like us with 9-5 jobs get a physique like that? Here are two things you need to focus on to build muscles like Ram Charan in RRR, super quick.

    1. Quantified Nutrition
    via GIPHY
Working out is perhaps the easiest part when you want to lose fat and gain muscles. You know what is the toughest part? Your nutrition. Your diet will decide how much you are going to succeed. There's a straightforward way to look at it: Find out your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) and base your daily calories depending on that number. If you're looking forward to gaining muscles while losing weight, you need to be on a 200-300 calorie deficit, and if you want to gain muscles while gaining weight, do it on a 200-300 calorie surplus.
    2. Resistance Training
    via GIPHY
While cardio has its own set of benefits, it will not help you build muscles. You must do resistance/strength training, and lift weights. Only when you put your muscles through stress, will they break down and grow in size. Consistent resistance training coupled with proper nutrition, keeping the calorie quantification as the base, will work like magic when it comes to helping you build muscles.

The last few months haven’t been easy for veteran Test cricketer Ajinkya Rahane. He hasn’t scored enough runs in the recent past and the fans are slowly running out of patience with him.
In fact, during the home Test series against New Zealand, the Indian supporters were so hell-bent on seeing his back that they even urged the BCCI to give him a farewell after he flopped in both the innings of the Kanpur Test.
    © Reuters
Given his poor form and the fact that he was recently stripped of the vice-captaincy duties, not many expected him to find a place in India’s starting XI for the Boxing Day Test against South Africa.

However, the team management preferred him to players like Shreyas Iyer and Hanuma Vihari, both of whom have done well in whatever limited opportunities they have got.
    © Reuters
Finding Rahane’s name in the Playing XI came as a huge surprise to many experts, including former India fast bowler Ashish Nehra who couldn’t understand the logic behind benching two strong players and persisting with an out-of-form player.

To some extent even Rahane knew that his international career was hanging by a thread and he couldn’t afford to fail this time.
So far he has taken the opportunity well. I think this is Rahane's natural approach and he looks such a class player when he bats like this. https://t.co/u30coxej65
    — Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) December 26, 2021
For a player who is already struggling for runs, this added pressure of ‘perform or go home’ could prove catastrophic except for Rahane. Having played at the international level for so many years, the Mumbai batter knew exactly what he needed to do to get out of such a situation and he showed that the moment he walked in to bat on Day 1 of the opening Test at Centurion.
Replacing skipper Virat Kohli at the crease, Rahane batted without any fear and took the attack to the opposition bowlers and scored boundaries at will. ‘Respect the good deliveries and punish the bad ones’ this is what he did throughout his innings and kept the scoreboard ticking.

    — Wisden India (@WisdenIndia) December 27, 2021
Smashed eight boundaries, Rahane finished the day at 40 not out off 81 deliveries and forged a crucial partnership with centurion KL Rahul, who ruled the show with his unbeaten 122. Watching Rahane bat one couldn’t tell he was the same batter whose position in the side was under threat.
The 33-year-old batter came out with an intent and adopted a rather unique way to keep himself focused. A video of Rahane has gone viral on social media where he can be seen murmuring a few words to himself before facing every delivery.

As the camera zooms in to Rahane’s face, the video shows him telling himself to “watch the ball” and play shots accordingly. And looking at the way he batted, it’s fair to say that this tactic of his worked wonders for him.
As the video went viral on the internet, fans started praising Rahane for his level of commitment and putting a big price on his wicket.
Struggle is beautiful to watch, in a very sad way.

Rahane trying to straighten his chin position and saying "watch the ball" to himself in full public eye with a string of low scores behind him is... difficult.

    — Sameer Subhedar (@samsub18) December 26, 2021Ajinkya Rahane has Resolute printed above his bat sponsor on his cricket bat, has mouthed “Watch the ball” countless times before facing his deliveries and attacked and defended with intent. Refreshing Resolute Rahane. #SAvsIND @ajinkyarahane88

    — Bharat Jain (@EdgedAndGone) December 26, 2021No matter how much you have achieved in your life, the struggles never end and the only way to overcome any hurdle is by giving your 100 percent and that’s what Rahane has done for far in this innings. We hope he continues to bat with the same intensity and notches up a big score.

At the Brahmastra promotions, they flirted with each other openly and even addressed the question of their marriage. A fan asked Ranbir, “When will you marry Alia or someone else?” and to which, Ranbir said, “Well, haven’t we seen a lot of people getting married in the last one year? I think we should be happy with that. Humari kab hogi (When will ours happen)?” Alia also dodged the question and Ranbir pointed out to Ayan and asked about the release date of his movie.

At the event, Ranbir also asked Alia about her relationship with the letter ‘R.’ “Why do people keep asking you about your relationship with ‘R’? Ranbir asked. In response to the question, Alia replied, “Truth is that R is my life’s biggest… number 8 hai.” The PDA didn’t stop here as Alia also asked what does the letter A mean to him and he kept teasing her by naming Amitabh Bachchan and Ayan Mukerji.
Talking about the movie, Brahmastra is the first film of a proposed fantasy trilogy. The first part will revolve around Ranbir’s character Shiva, who discovers that he has the power of fire and a mysterious connection to the all-powerful weapon Brahmastra. Alia will play his ladylove Isha.

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is celebrating his 56th birthday today (27 December). The actor, who made his acting debut with Biwi Ho To Aisi in 1988, is counted among the most successful leading actors of Hindi cinema. Apart from delivering many blockbusters, Salman is also known for being the controversy's favourite child. Whether it's his love life or professional rivalry and fights, the Dabangg star often hits headlines for his controversial comments.
    View this post on Instagram
On the occasion of his birthday today, let's take look at some of his controversial statements:
    1. 'Raped Woman' comment during Sultan promotionsSalman played the role of a wrestler in the hit 2016 film, featuring Anushka Sharma as the leading lady. During promotions, in an interview, Salman said, "When I used to walk out of that ring, it used to be actually like a raped woman walking out". For this statement, Salman received huge criticism from women’s rights activists.
    2. 'Bh*ngi' commentWhile promoting Tiger Zinda Hai, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Salman had allegedly made a casteist slut on a TV show. The Antim: The Final Truth actor had compared his dancing skills to a "bh*ngi". While Salman had loosely used the term, Valmiki Samaj wasn't pleased with the statement. Due to this, a complaint too was registered against him. Later, his co-star Katrina Kaif too invited legal trouble for the same reason.
    3. 'Mazdoor' comment on KatrinaIn 2016, Salman called Katrina the most hard-working actress he had met at that point in time. Stressing on how hardworking the actress is, he used the word 'mazdoor' (labourer) for the Rajneeti actress. Katrina, who was with Salman at the event, too was surprised by this statement.
    4. 'Depression is a luxury' commentIn 2018, Salman had talked about being indulged in work all the time. During the conversation, he had mentioned depression being a luxury. He said, "I see a lot of people getting depressed and emotional, but I can’t afford that luxury of being depressed or sad or emotional because no matter what I am going through, it works against me".
    5. 'I'm a virgin' commentDuring an appearance on Koffee With Karan 4, Salman Khan informed Karan Johar that he's still a virgin. He added that he was saving himself for marriage. At that time, he further informed that he is waiting for the right woman to enter his life.

Arjun Kapoor has been around the industry for quite some time now and is looking to cement his place in films with some good performances in films like Bhoot Police and others.

Now, the actor, who made his debut with Ishaqzaade alongside Parineeti Chopra back in 2012, boasts of a fair share of films to his name.

This definitely means that he's romanced around many of Bollywood's leading women in several movies.

However, he was once asked about who he liked kissing the most in movies. The choice was between two actors Alia Bhatt and Parineeti Chopra.
Well, he opted to go for Brahmastra actor Alia, stating that she just was the best kisser.
“I really like kissing Alia. She is the best kisser. I don’t look at it as a comparison. Everyone is different. It would be unfair to compare, but yeah, she is very good.” said Arjun.
Arjun and Alia had worked in the 2 States movie, which was a film adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's novel by the same name. The movie had a lot of kissing scenes involving them in the movie.
    © Netflix
Speaking in the interview, however, he said that the kiss with Parineeti was more aggressive whereas, the one with Alia was very gentle.

“Also, in Ishaqzaade, it was my first kiss. In that context, I was a bit nervous. The scene was very wrong, so I had to be an animal with Parineeti. This is much more gentle and simpler. And in the film you’ll see that Alia kisses me, so it plays out very well.” said Arjun.
Arjun, who has been dating Malaika Arora for quite some time now, was not the only one asked about the kiss, with his co-star Alia too speaking on what she thought about the kiss in the movie.
    View this post on Instagram
“There is awkwardness. I feel it is acting at the end of the day.. he is playing Krish and I am playing Ananya. We are not Arjun and Alia when we are doing that scene. This film is not about just that one kiss, the only reason it is written about is because Arjun and I said it is ok (to have it),” said Alia.
Alia recently saw the release of the poster of her upcoming film 'Brahmastra' that also stars her boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor.

The affair of Bollywood and Cricket has always been a steamy piece of news. Every time a Bollywood actress marries or falls in love with a cricketer, there's a lot of news fluttering everywhere.

While some relationships were in the public eye and culminated in the holy union of marriage for people like Virat and Anushka, Hardik and Natasa, some love stories ended up buried and others were mostly brushed off as rumours. One such beautiful yet incomplete tale of romance was that of star cricketer of the 90s, Ajay Jadeja and Bollywood heartthrob Madhuri Dixit.
    © Twitter
According to a report in IBT, Madhuri and Ajay met for a photo shoot and found an instant connection. Soon, love blossomed as the friendship grew. This is around the time when Ajay was trying to venture into the cinema world as well and it turns out that the actress tried to help him by recommending his name to producers.

However, things started turning topsy-turvy when Ajay’s name got defamed in the match-fixing controversy and his on-field career started affecting his personal life as well.
    © Twitter
Amidst all of this, there were also rumours that the families didn’t really approve of the relationship and in an anti-climax sequence, this ‘adhuri kahani’ ended here. Madhuri then went on to marry Dr. Nene and she is happily settled with her family and Ajay also went on to marry his wife, Jaya. Guess all’s well that ends well.

Ever since the rise of the OTT platforms in India, there have been a fair share of controversies around the shows and movies that stream on them.

Whenever a show or a movie releases online, it often courts controversy for one reason or the other. This year wasn’t any different as many of the popular shows saw sentiments being hurt and there was a demand for either a ban or an action be taken against them.
Take a look at 5 shows of 2021 that “hurt sentiments”:
    Decoupled © Netflix
Starring R Madhavan and Surveen Chawla, Decoupled is a Netflix series that courted controversy as many on social media stated that it had hurt their sentiments. The show was accused of being islamophobic, transphobic and sexist. Many on social media expressed their disappointment about the same.

Starring Saif Ali Khan, Tandav found itself in major controversy when a case was filed against its makers and cast for hurting religious sentiments. The sequence in question featured Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub portraying Lord Shiva in a college play.

The Family Man 2  © Amazon Prime Videos
One of the most popular shows of the year, The Family Man season 2 starring Manoj Bajpayee and Samantha Ruth Prabhu was accused of hurting sentiments by several political leaders and even the Tamil Nadu government.

In the show, Samantha played a Sri Lankan extremist and the show had started receiving flak right after the release of its first trailer. After the show finally streamed online, Samantha had apologised in an interview to Bollywood Hungama stating, “I allow people to have their own opinions. If they decided to stay with that opinion, I am very sorry for hurting anyone's sentiments. I sincerely apologise as it was not something I intended on doing at all. I did not mean to hurt anyone. So, if I did, I am extremely sorry. I am glad that, though, once the show did release, a lot of the noise stopped. I guess some saw it wasn't so bad after all. For the people who didn't and still continue to hold resentment, I sincerely apologise.”
    The Empire © Disney+ Hotstar
Released on Disney+ Hotstar, The Empire by Nikkhil Advani was based on Mughal Ruler Babur and how he ended up in India. Starring Kunal Kapoor and Dino Morea, the show was said to have hurt religious sentiments as many accused it of glorification of the Mughals, in particular, Babur.

Reacting to the controversy around The Empire and Tandav, Dino had told News 18, “Getting hurt is very relative. As long as the filmmaker or an actor has a clear conscience and does not hurt the major sentiments it is fine. In the end, you have to be careful of what you put out.”
    Bombay Begums © Netflix
The Netflix web series marked Pooja Bhatt’s return to acting after decades. Soon after the show was released, complaints were raised by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) objecting to the inappropriate portrayal of children. Many on social media also demanded a ban on the show stating that it promoted child pornography.

Reacting to the controversy, Pooja Bhatt had told India Today, “As far as Bombay Begums is concerned, (a) it’s a work of fiction, (b) what’s glorious about it is that it tells you about five individual women in different stages of their lives starting from somebody who is 13 to somebody who is going to be 49 and hitting menopause.”
She further added, “So my response was, sit down with the Commission, talk to them, let them understand that Shai's character is of a troubled teenager and we have plenty of those in our society who are lost within their own homes.”

With the departure of former head coach Ravi Shastri and the majority of his support staff and the arrival of Rahul Dravid, the Indian cricket team has entered a new era. For the first time since 2017, Team India has a separate Test and limited-overs skipper and it would  be interesting to see how both the modern-day greats lead the side.
Ever since the BCCI removed Kohli from the ODI captaincy and handed over the reins to the Mumbai batter, there have been plenty of talks about the differences in styles of leadership of both the individuals.
    © Reuters
Shastri, who saw Kohli and Rohit from close quarters for nearly five years, has shared his opinion on the idea of split captaincy going forward. Highlighting the stark difference between their captaincy styles, the former India all-rounder linked them to two of the greatest cricketers of his generation – Kapil Dev and Sunil Gavaskar.

Shastri said that Kohli’s captaincy reminded him of Kapil Dev because they both had similar traits when it came to leading the side. He likened Rohit’s leadership with that of batting legend Gavaskar saying that both were “very calm and composed”.

“When you look at the two and compare their captaincy, reminds me of Sunny and Kapil. Kapil the more Virat-like, spontaneous, instinctive, goes with the gut feeling; Rohit, more like Gavaskar-- calculated, extremely efficient, very calm and composed,” Shastri said on Star Sports.
“I don't think the team really worried too much about what was on the outside. They were professionals,” he further added.
    © Reuters
Under Kohli and Shastri, the Indian team achieved some terrific results especially in the longest format of the game. The highlight of their partnership was two back to back Test series wins in Australia and the terrific performance in England, where they led the five-Test series 2-1 before it was called off with one match left.

Speaking about the special bond that he shared with Kohli, Shastri said that both of them liked to be “pretty aggressive” and added that this personality sync made things easy for them.
    © Reuters
“The personality sync helped. We were both pretty aggressive and both played to win. We realised very quickly that to win you need to take 20 wickets, so you go to start picking and identifying players who will help you do that. It might take time,” he added.

Having only one captain across formats, Shastri’s job was comparatively easier than his successor Dravid, whose job has become really difficult now that we have two separate leaders.
