The cat’s finally out of the bag. After months of rumor-mongering and pondering, it’s finally been confirmed that Bollywood superstars Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal tied the knot in a secret ceremony at the Six Senses Fort Barwara in Rajasthan on Thursday.
Their wedding had been a matter of mass-public interest, partly due to the secretive way they went about the whole affair, perhaps rightfully so. Since the couple knew their union would have the entire nation fixated on them, they chose to maintain and reserve whatever morsel of privacy they could for their special day.

Now that the whole spiel is no longer a secret, we’ve been able to get better glimpses at the people involved in this momentous occasion. Katrina expressed her sentiments on Instagram, "Only love and gratitude in our hearts for everything that brought us to this moment. Seeking all your love and blessings as we begin this new journey together”

Amidst all this hullabaloo, Vicky Kaushal’s parents, Veena and Sham Kaushal almost managed to slip under the radar. For doting online audiences, they still managed to stand out. Not with over-the-top acts of grandiosity as is usually common in events with such fanfare, but rather with the simple demeanor.

In photos and videos shared by the paparazzi, Vicky’s parents can be seen dressed simply, greeting the public at the Jaipur airport with folded hands. Bowled over by their humility, fans have been swift to appreciate Sham and Veena.

A user wrote, “Love how Vicky’s parents are so simple!! Majority lot in Bollywood are so dressy!! Loved to see this”.
While someone pointed out the parents’ grounded upbringing of Vicky Kaushal might have contributed to Katrina falling for the Udham Singh actor, “How simple are his parents… No wonder it’s their upbringing that made Katrina marry Vicky.”
A fan was smitten by the Uri actor’s parents and their simplicity, they said, “Most beautiful thing is that #vickykaushal's parents are so simple. Most celebrity parents dress up like a showroom.”
Vicky’s parents seem like a breath of fresh air in an industry where everyone's caught up in maintaining appearances. Their relatability wasn’t lost on this user, “Vicky’s mother resembling the majority Indian moms.”
All in all, we’re glad to see that people online were appreciative of Vicky’s parents for their unpretentiousness, and hopefully, we’ll see more celebrities and their families break the mould.

The cricketers are considered to be some of the biggest celebrities that the people of India not only adore but even spoil with their love, affection and some die-hard fan bases. They are paid lucratively, get to stay in the finest of hotels all around the world and are well compensated for the work they put on the field.
One would imagine that with such a level of entitlement, the success, money and fame might get to the heads of at least some (if not all) of the players who are part of the Men in Blue. However, according to the former fielding coach of the squad, R Sridhar, the case is quite the opposite.
India's former fielding coach R Sridhar said, "none of the Indian players has egos and they are simple, grounded human beings". (To PTI).
    — Mufaddal Vohra (@mufaddal_vohra) December 10, 2021
In an interview with the Press Trust of India, Sridhar remarked that none of the Indian cricketers had an ego problem and that all of them got along really well. He said that the players were simple human beings who were rather grounded and in their approach towards stardom.

The problem is that Sridhar’s comments have come at the time when two of the biggest names in the Indian locker room, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been surrounded by the rumors of ego clashes.

Recently it was revealed in the news reports that Virat Kohli was given a 48-hour window to announce stepping down from the ODI captaincy so that the transition of power could happen seamlessly.
However, Kohli refused to do so and the whole process turned out to be extremely ugly. The Indian cricket board had to dethrone him forcefully, announce Rohit Sharma’s ascension with a bland tweet and after one whole day, present a tribute to Kohli for his services as the former skipper.
Furthermore, a BCCI insider also told PTI that Kohli had gone to the BCCI selectors with a proposal to remove Sharma from the position of vice-captain after feeling threatened by the fear of losing his white-ball captaincy to him.

For those who believe that Sharma’s ego-metric was never high, some other reports have also suggested that it was the Hitman who had put forward a demand to the BCCI in which he stated that he wanted to be the white ball captain of India in both T20Is and ODIs, which kickstarted the whole process of bringing down Virat Kohli from the captaincy position.
As soon as Sridhar made the comments, the fans of both Kohli and Sharma started social media fight once again:
Saying Rohit sharma egoless is same like saying Jonny Sins is virgin.

    — Keval Pathak (@kevpathak) December 10, 2021Indian players can't afford EGO. Indian bench strength is so huge that if they underperform, they will thrown out of the team.

“Karma Is A B**CH”: Better.com CEO Vishal Garg Taking Time Off After Firing 900 Employees
Vishal Garg, the chief executive officer at Better.com is still reeling from the aftermath of his decision to lay off 900 employees without any warning, over a zoom call.
    vishal garg,
“Blundered the execution” is what Garg admits to after facing flak from all quarters of the internet. He also said in a letter,”I realize that the way I communicated this news made a difficult situation worse.”

The CEO seems to have had some sense knocked into him after his public display of apathy was captured by an unnamed employee at Better.com, having shared the video of their Zoom-based lay off on Tiktok, where it went viral.

According to reports, the disgraced leader has taken time off with immediate effect. According to reports, the NYU alumnus’ decision was made after an email from the company’s board conveyed their unanimous decision to temporarily relieve him of his responsibilities. The email read, “Vishal and the Board wanted to provide Better employees an update given the very regrettable events over the last week. Vishal will be taking time off effective immediately.”

Present chief financial officer, Kevin Ryan has been made in charge of running the company on a day-to-day basis, albeit with the board’s supervision. Reportedly, a third party firm has also been onboarded by Better.com to ensure a “a leadership and cultural assessment" is done.

The digital mortgage company was founded in New York in 2016 after becoming the go-to platform for many to avail insurance products via its innovative platform. It still remains to be seen how this controversy affects Better.com’s plan to go public via their merger with Aurora Acquisition Corp. The deal was reportedly valued at $ 7.7 billion.

The leadership and cultural audit may be able to iron out the kinks prevalent within the company’s working environment, as exposed by Vishal Garg’s very public faux pas. The board of directors said,  “The recommendations of this assessment will be taken into account to build a long-term sustainable and positive culture at Better. We have much work to do and we hope that everyone can refocus on our customers and support each other to continue to build a great company and a company we can be proud of.”

Hopefully, this entire incident serves as a reminder, and a warning, to cutthroat corporates who discard their employees without the slightest hesitation, all under the guise of ‘profit-seeking’.

With Rohit Sharma taking over as ODI captain for India's forthcoming tour of South Africa, the Indian cricket team is set to enter a new era. Virat Kohli has been replaced in the role by Rohit Sharma.
Kohli had previously said that he would step down as India's T20 captain after the 2021 World Cup, with Rohit leading the team. While Kohli has stated that he has no plans to stand down as ODI captain, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to only have one white-ball captain.
    View this post on Instagram
While Rohit's elevation to ODI skipper was announced by the BCCI, the top body has yet to name a vice-captain for the Indian team in the 50-over format. Three players that potentially be Rohit's deputy are:
KL Rahul View this post on Instagram
When the squad for the three-match T20I home series against New Zealand was announced, KL Rahul was picked as Rohit's deputy. With the BCCI suggesting that the two white-ball formats should have the same leadership group, KL being the vice-captain in ODI cricket looks like an easy pick.
Furthermore, he is certainly the opener for the side in both T20I and ODI cricket, and he has previous expertise, having captained the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Indian Premier League for the past two years.
Rishabh Pant View this post on Instagram
Given the aging of both Rohit and Virat, as well as Rahul's age, Indian cricket may opt to invest in a younger vice-captain and prepare him for leadership duties after the 2023 ODI World Cup. Rishabh Pant is the ideal pick for the post if the BCCI decides to go that route, as he is likely to wear the gloves for Team India in all three forms for an extended length of time. Pant is now a lock to captain the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the IPL 2022, and being a wicket-keeper gives him an advantage in the captaincy contest.
Jasprit Bumrah View this post on Instagram
With Australia opting to make a fast-bowler, Pat Cummins, the captain of their Test team, India only has one option to follow suit. Jasprit Bumrah, one of the team's most seasoned players and the Men in Blue's most consistent performer in recent years, is a plausible choice for a leadership post. Bumrah has been coaching young Indian bowlers, and his calm and collected manner makes him a perfect candidate for the job.
