When it comes to a man finally getting his dues, Mayank Agarwal’s story makes for a brilliant case study. After thriving in the Indian domestic cricket circuit for years, the batter finally got his shot to play for the country back in December 2018 when the Indian squad were touring Australia for a Test match series.
Ever since the journey has not been as rosy as the 30-year old cricketer would have liked it to be. Injuries and the cutthroat competition among some of the greatest batters in the world who are constantly contesting for the eleven spots in the Indian squad have kept him switching in and out of the team.
    View this post on Instagram
But if there is one thing that the fans of the Indian cricket team can be absolutely sure of, it’s the fact that Agarwal can be trusted to bounce back and give a performance to remind people why he was picked in the first place.
After playing a crucial role in helping Virat Kohli’s side win the Test series against New Zealand 1-0 while scoring over 200 runs by himself in the second match (150 and 62 in the first and second innings, respectively) Mayank Agarwal spoke to MensXP about his current state of mind, his physical fitness, and most importantly, the need for the world to become more accepting of men being able to show their emotions without being judged.
    View this post on Instagram
How do you manage the pressure when you know that Indian cricketers get only a certain number of chances to perform and prove themselves?
Well, I think very honestly, it's just a dream of representing the country. You know having the opportunity to win matches for your country, is something that, that really gets me going. That's my motivation factor.
Do you like being on social media? Do the negative tweets get to you sometimes?
I am a little shy. You won't really see me out there (online) as much. But I think social media is important. It helps you connect to different people, obviously, especially in these times, you don't actually have an opportunity to go and meet everyone.
    View this post on Instagram
Obviously, it does come with a few disadvantages. I don't actually sit and read through all of it (negative comments on Twitter). But yeah, if you come across something like that, you just take it in stride. Everyone's got an opinion and social media actually allows you to share your opinion on a public platform. You actually have no choice but to move on.
Do you have days when all your efforts feel worthless? What’s the secret to getting out of such negativity?
Definitely. I'm not just talking from my perspective. I think all of us face that. It's never going to be rosy throughout. It's not always going to be nice. That's just how life is and that's how I look at it. But more importantly, when you are going through those times, I believe that you have to keep your goal in mind.
    View this post on Instagram
You must have an understanding of what you're going towards, what you want to achieve. Especially in cricket know, as a batsman, you fail more often than you succeed. Be very stubborn about your goals. Accept the fact that you're going to have bad days. Everyone has bad days, and just be relentless in achieving the good ones.
So, stubbornness is a good quality to have sometimes?
You could call it stubbornness, or you could call it relentlessness. But it's just the fact that you are working towards something. Obviously, the tough times do teach you a lot. So, in those days you want to be actually just looking to improve yourself. You won’t see a massive improvement in a day. Maybe a one per cent improvement, day after day after day. But when you look back one year down the line, you will be amazed. And that makes a massive difference.
    View this post on Instagram
Are you equally relentless when it comes to achieving physical fitness?
A lot of people are looking for a shortcut (to become fit), which I don't believe will last very long. Fitness is a lifestyle. It's not a destination that you reach there and then you just sit back and say ‘Oh, wow, I reached my goal’. If you do that, you will just kind of fall back it's going to hurt you again.
When it comes to weight loss, a lot of people are looking at very short term goals. They are trying all sorts of fastings and want to see their fat gone in 21 days. You haven't put on weight in just 21 days. It's taken you these many years to put on the kind of weight you put on. At least give yourself half the time to become as healthy as you used to be.
    View this post on Instagram
Do you have a bad habit that you are secretly trying to get over at the moment?
Definitely, I have a lot of bad habits. That's just a work in progress, I guess. I just eat a lot of junk food so that's a big bad habit. Also, I think I spend a little extra time not being as productive as I could be. Maybe watching Netflix a lot longer than I should be doing. But as a person, I just understand that we have to be accepting that we do make mistakes, and we all not going to be perfect. If we can just look to improve those little things day in day out, we will be better people at the end of the year or two years.
Have you ever felt overworked or being too harsh on yourself?
A lot of my friends tell me that ‘Mayank you are being too harsh on yourself,’ but that’s my personality. I'm very intense when it comes to my profession. Very honestly, I have to accept the fact that these are the things that have also helped me get better. By being that extra critical of myself, I push myself to work that much harder.

When you are off for months on an international tour, do you ever feel really homesick?
Very honestly, I have never felt homesick. As a person, I love travelling, I could live off a suitcase so that that works to my advantage (laughs). But yes, when you're away from home for a long, long period of time, you do miss it and your family.
Do you think that we’re still living in an era where men must hide their emotions in society?
The world has changed and I must say it has changed for the better. I think all of us, whether you're male or female, everyone has emotions. Everyone goes through those emotions and it's very important to share them and would you share that with completely depends on whoever you're comfortable with.
    View this post on Instagram
It's not about ‘you versus the world’. You will definitely find people with whom you have a comfort zone and with who you want to share your emotions. And I think it's great that if you can let out those emotions, it just makes you feel a lot lighter.
I've gone through some tough times. I've been sad. I've been frustrated with results not coming. Those are the times when I make sure I speak a lot more with my family. I'm very close to my mother. It's not that she's going to give me a solution. But just being heard is a nice feeling. I've had my moments when I've not had great success on the field, and I have turned back to my family and luckily, they've always been there for me.
    View this post on Instagram
How can men feel more comfortable in expressing their emotions more openly in the society?
I think people just have to be empathetic… just listen without actually judging someone. If somebody shares a certain emotion, somebody shares a certain story, you don't have to actually sit back and judge them for it. it's just an emotion, you have to just let it pass. And I think if people are willing to listen a lot more and be less judgmental, the world will definitely become a better place.

Nargis Fakhri is one Bollywood actor who made her superb debut in the industry, with what was a truly pathbreaking film, in Imitiaz Ali's Rockstar opposite Ranbir Kapoor.
The movie really was a film that continues to be known to break boundaries in terms of storytelling, and amazing music, with the film, truly connecting with fans across all ages.
    © Netflix
However, it's been 10 years since the release of the movie, and if we are, to be honest, Nargis has gone through her share of ups and downs in the industry.

Now, while Bollywood is obviously a tough nut to crack because of the intense competition, Nargis reveals that her career had a lot of roadblocks because she chose to stray differently.
It is not news to people that the casting couch exists in Bollywood, with many actresses and people in the industry claiming that they've had experiences with it.
Now, Nargis, despite her status as being a prominent actress, too revealed that she also had her fair share of experiences. In fact, she says that she ended up on a lot of films because she always said no to it.
“I always knew what I was hungry for. I am not hungry for fame. Therefore, nothing can be agreed to do. Can not be nude. Or can’t sleep with the director. I have lost many jobs because I have not done ‘some things’. And it was heartbreaking. I had a standard. I had a boundary. But it felt bad when I was thrown out for taking these things more than once. But then I came to know that good people win. Of course, do not win by holding their way, but ‘own’ win by holding a path." she said while speaking in an interview earlier.
The American-born actress also revealed how she actually got a call for a naked shoot from Playboy magazine at the time when she was doing modelling.
“When I was modelling, there was this college edition Playboy magazine thing. My agent said they are asking for girls, they have chosen to see you if you would want to do something like that. I was like Playboy is so huge and the money was so much! But I said no,” said Nargis.

We last saw Nargis appear in the 2020 Netflix film Torbaaz, and we hope to see her star in more promising movies and web series in the future.

Ravi Shastri is a man who has worn multiple hats when it comes to Indian cricket. Not only was he only of the most remarkable cricketers to have played for this country, he also managed to create a name for himself post-retirement as an incredible commentator and eventually one of the most successful head coaches as well.
However, as it happens with the biggest of forces in the world, Shastri’s rise to success through all the office politics at the BCCI was full of incredible resistance and the journey to the top was never easy.
    View this post on Instagram
In an interview with The Times of India, the former Head Coach of the Men in Blue revealed how some of the official members of the Indian cricket board were consciously trying to refuse him the official title for that job over seven years ago, even though he was already playing the part as the ‘team director’.
Shastri said that it came as an absolute shock to him when he was not appointed as the head coach back in 2016 when the board had decided to give Anil Kumble a shot, especially after he was asked to give up his career as a broadcaster, leave everything else at bay and completely commit himself to the team.

The worst part of this whole move was the fact that none of the top-tier officials in the board told Shastri anything about exactly why he was not being the head coach’s job, even though it was because of the work that he had put in with the squad as their director, that had begun to make things work out for them
"Yes, more than anything, it hurt because of the manner in which it was done. For all that I had contributed, just on one word from the BCCI, there were better ways to let me know 'Oh look we don't want you, we don't like you. We want somebody else' - if that was the case,” Shastri said without holding back when asked whether it hurt him when the BCCI decided not to go ahead with his assessment.
    View this post on Instagram
However, it only took nine months and a highly dysfunctional relationship between the skipper Virat Kohli and coach Kumble for the job to come back and knock on Shastri’s door. Even though there were still a lot of people in the governing body for Indian cricket, who did not want to see his face representing the Indian dressing room.
“Egg on the faces of those who wanted me away,” says Shastri to those people.

The ex-head coach tried to end the interview with the typical defensive move of ensuring that none of the big names at the top of the BCCI gets offended by his candidness when he said that he wasn’t pointing fingers at anyone. However, people who had followed the whole controversy back in the day have a fair idea of exactly who Shastri was talking about.

Ahead of its release, Ranveer Singh’s much-hyped film 83 is facing legal trouble and Deepika Padukone's name has also been dragged into the controversy. Yes, you read that right! A case has reportedly been filed in a Mumbai court against the 83 makers of alleged cheating and the complaint also mentions Deepika's name as she is one of the producers of the upcoming sports drama.
    View this post on Instagram
According to an India Today report, a UAE-based financer has filed the complaint after approaching the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Mumbai. In the complaint, it has been alleged that Vibri Media has promised good returns to his company after they invested Rs 16 crore (approx). However, without the complainant's consent, the money was used for the production of 83 after their funds were directed into multiple agreements involving filmmakers like Sajid Nadiadwala, Kabir Khan, Deepika Padukone among others.

Advocate Rizwan Siddiquee, who is representing FZE (the complainant), said, "It is true that my client has filed a criminal complaint against all the Producers of the film 83 on the grounds of cheating and criminal conspiracy. My client had no other option but to initiate strict legal proceedings, as the producers did not seem interested in resolving the dispute amicably, despite full knowledge of my client’s rights. The matter would now be taken up by respective Courts".
In the complaint, FZE has asked for issuance of process against all the accused of allegedly committing offenses under IPC Sections 405, 406, 415, 418, 420, and 120B. The makers of 83 are yet to react to the same.
Talking about the much-awaited biopic, 83 features Ranveer as the Indian cricket legend Kapil Dev while Deepika will be seen essaying the role of the cricketer's wife Romi Bhatia. The makers of 83, directed by Kabir Khan, recently released the film's trailer which is receiving an overwhelming response from moviegoers.
Also featuring Saqib Saleem, Ammy Virk, Pankaj Tripathi, Harrdy Sandhu among others in pivotal roles, it is slated to hit the theatres on 24 December, during the Christmas weekend.

Ayushmann Khurana is back on the big screen after almost two years with the romantic-comedy Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui.
The movie directed by Abhishek Kapoor also stars Vaani Kapoor in the lead role.
For all Sushant Singh Rajput fans, there is going to be a special surprise when they will watch the film as it features a beautiful tribute to the late actor.
    © Instagrma/Sushant Singh Rajput
In the opening credits of the film, there is a slate featuring Sushant’s picture with the text that reads, “In loving memory of…Sushant Singh Rajput.”

The text also features his birth and death date followed by “Stay Interstellar”, in line with Sushant’s love for stars and cosmos.
The reason behind this tribute in Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui can be attributed to director Abhishek Kapoor who had launched the late actor in the 2013 film Kai Po Che and later, directed him again in the 2018 hit Kedarnath.
This isn’t the first time Abhishek Kapoor has paid tribute to Sushant Singh Rajput, as earlier this year, on his birth anniversary, he and his wife Pragya Kapoor planted 1000 trees as it was one of the wishes on his bucket list.
    © Instagrma/Sushant Singh Rajput
About planting 1000 trees in memory of Sushant, Pragya had told Bombay Times, “A wish should not be left unfulfilled, Sushant had many dreams that he wanted to achieve. We can’t fulfil them all, but planting 1,000 trees is something that we could do, hence, we felt it was the right way to celebrate his birth anniversary.”

A couple of days back, on the 3-year anniversary of Kedarnath, Abhishek had taken to Instagram and shared a BTS picture with Sushant from the sets of the film. A part of his caption read, “Amidst all the gratitude and love, I can’t help but be reminded of the grave loss of this extraordinary soul who remains etched to the legacy of this film.”

There’s no time to go in for a makeover or a complete transformation. A few days back, we stumbled upon Smriti Irani’s pictures and we were stunned to see her crazy transformation. Her new pictures reminded us of the days when she used to play the character of Tulsi.
Today, while scrolling Instagram, we landed on Tanushree Dutta’s account and we were left spellbound to see her change drastically. Several months after Tanushree Dutta hinted at making a comeback in the Hindi film industry, the actor started to flaunt her toned-up body on Instagram.

The Aashiq Banaya Aapne actor lost 18 Kgs in 18 months. In an interview with Hindustan Times, she said, “People think this is sudden, nothing is sudden. I have been working on losing weight since September 2019 and have lost 18 kilos in 18 months due to a lot of focus and dedication.”
According to the report, after fasting for a day at a temple in Ujjain in 2019, she felt lighter and started fasting every month. “Post the fast, I felt very good and I started fasting every Monday. My body felt lighter and so I continued with it and worked out regularly as well. When I realized my weight was dropping, I got a trainer to intensify the workouts. Later, I changed my diet, dropped carbs, sugar, gluten from my diet, and stuck to a soup, salad, and juice diet with one cheat day a week. With weight training, intermittent fasting, yoga, swimming, and dance classes, and switching between all these, I lost weight. I was 80 back then and right now I am 62. What people are noticing is not just my weight loss but also a shift in my energy and vibe,” she told the publication.
Dutta is planning to return to acting and in the same interview, she stated, “When the time is right everything comes together. You think of things seriously that you didn’t think of earlier. Till August 2019, I was settled in the US and wasn’t sure if I wanted to return. In fact, I was okay with my weight, as people complimented me as I dress well and look good. So, the impetus for someone like me to lose weight is little. Sure, in India, the media scrutiny led to social media trolling but that was as they compared me to what I looked like 10 years. They comment on weight because they want to be mean. All these years, I did celebrity appearances and ads in the US and India. Why would those people work with me if I looked so bad, though I was overweight yet I looked good? I was fine with whatever shape I had. People pick on you with what pinches you but my weight never bothered me. I was voluptuous and got compliments for it.”
She went on to add, “I am in talks with three other makers and two might start shooting soon but will wait for producers to announce. Once people knew that I was back for good, they started approaching me as they know it is viable to have me start in a project. Makers want a crowd-puller and I am crowd-puller.”

The Indian cricket team has been on a roll recently and we are not talking about their winning streak under the new mentorship of Rahul Dravid but also the kind of daring moves that the BCCI has been making while letting Virat Kohli face the consequences of it all.
Once referred to as one of the top-three skippers of all time to have led the Men in Blue into hundreds of matches across all formats, Kohli’s final days as a leader were full of news of how he was ousted from the spot with threat and ultimatum instead of respect and humility.
    View this post on Instagram
According to various media reports, the former Indian skipper was given a 48-hour time limit to vacate the position of the ODI captain or else… and the 33-year old decided to stand his ground. The move didn’t have as much gravitas as it would have a couple of years ago and the Indian cricket board decided to brush him aside nonetheless while crowning Rohit Sharma the new leader of the squad in both T20Is and ODIs within a span of a month.
Despite choosing a not-so-healthy way of removing the Indian batter from his position as the top-man, the BCCI’s social media team went on to give the legend a humble sendoff by counting his success as a captain and commending him on the “grit, passion and determination” with which he led the team over the years.
A leader who led the side with grit, passion & determination.

Confused and rather annoyed by the Indian cricket board’s tactics to mellow down the situation after an ugly break-up, Kohli fans took to social media to call BS on the tribute and expressed their dissent with the way he was made to step down, despite everything that the cricketer had done for the team and cricket as a whole.

That's it not my board, I am no longer a BCCI supporter, I am moving to a better board like PCB where they know how to run a cricket team

Regardless of the fact that Kohli was struggling to keep up with the legendary form everyone had gotten used to and that the last time he scored a century across all formats of the game was over two years ago, Kohli remained a decent scorer for the team regardless of the number of overs there were to play on the board.
As the Voice of Indian cricket Harsha Bhogle recently mentioned, Kohli has to be feeling at the lowest point of his cricketing career and requires the support of his fans and teammates alike.
