Salman Khan is back on the big screen with this week’s release Antim: The Final Truth.

Directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, Antim stars Salman Khan’s brother-in-law Aayush Sharma in the lead role of a gangster whereas “Bhai” features in the supporting role of a Sikh cop.
In a career spanning over three decades, Salman Khan has mostly been seen in lead roles and have rarely opted for supporting characters. And often, his supporting turns have come for either his family members or close friends.
Here is a look at five films where Salman Khan was seen in a supporting role and their box office results:
    1. Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna (2009) © Sohail Khan Production
Released in 2009, Main aurr Mrs. Khanna, directed by Prem Soni, starred Sohail Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, while Salman Khan featured in a supporting role.

However, before the release, the film was promoted purely on Salman Khan’s star power with his face featuring front and centre on posters and promos.
It was only after the release of the film that people realised, the “Main” in the story was Sohail Khan’s character while “Mrs Khanna” was played by Kareena Kapoor Khan.
According to Box office India, Main aurr Mrs. Khanna was a disaster at the box office.
    2. Heroes (2008) © Eros International
Released in 2008, Heroes starred Sohail Khan and Vatsal Seth in the lead roles with Salman Khan, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Preity Zinta, Dino Morea and Mithun Chakraborty appearing in different segments of the film.

Directed by Samir Karnik, Heroes was the first time Salman Khan was seen playing a Sikh character in a film.
The movie flopped at the box office.
    3. Saawan… The Love Season (2006) © Saawan Kumar
Directed by Saawan Kumar, weirdly named after the filmmaker himself, Saawan… The Love Season starred Kapil Jhaveri and Saloni Aswani with Salman Khan “in an extraordinary appearance” (that’s how he was credited in the film).

Besides playing the character of a “man who saw tomorrow”, Salman was also seen sporting an atrocious wig.
The movie failed to make a mark at the box office.
    4. No Entry (2005) © SK Film Entertainment
The highest-grossing film of the year 2005, No Entry starred Anil Kapoor, Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu and Lara Dutta with Salman Khan in a special role that was also the USP of the film.

While the Anees Bazmee film majorly revolved around the characters of Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan, it was Salman Khan’s appearance that made the movie a major success.
In fact, Anil Kapoor himself called Salman’s character Prem a “high point” of the movie in one of the making videos.
    5. Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam (2002) © BMB Productions
Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit, Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam also featured Salman Khan in a supporting role.

Directed by KS Adhiyaman, Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam, also had Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in a cameo.
The movie was an average success.

When you think of Bollywood, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Trashy remixes? OTT Rohit Shetty action sequences? Actresses dancing in chiffon sarees and heroes saying a different rendition of the same dialogue over and over again. Right?
As stereotypical as we may be towards Bollywood for minting out countless movies along with the same plot but with a different cast, we can’t deny the few times it has actually managed to hit the bull's eye with movies that have surprised us.
Here are 5 movies that came out of Bollywood and surprised us for being as brilliant as they were:
    1. Jhankar Beats  © Pritish nandy communications
A rather underrated gem that came out of Bollywood, this movie starring Rahul Bose, Juhi Chawala, Sanjay Suri and Riya Sen was a breath of fresh air even back in its time.

It takes us through the personal predicaments of three friends and bandmates who juggle between love, life and music.
    2. Delhi Belly © Aamir Khan Productions
A movie that stood for itself and broke past all the barriers that Bollywood had put on creating genuine and real content.

This movie starring Irfan Khan was one of the rawest and most entertaining films, with dark comedy and gritty punch lines. This movie didn’t just give birth to a lot of memes, it also gave birth to a new genre in Bollywood.
    3. Kaalakaandi  © Cinestaan Film Company
This movie came as a shock to the audience, not just with the storyline that followed Saif Ali Khan’s character as someone who goes on a bender after realising he has a terminal illness, but also because it showed just how nuanced life is and was garnished with just the right of humour and wit.

    4. Andhadun © Viacom 18
One of Ayushmann Khurranna’s masterpieces, this movie kept the audience gripped till the very last moment and was laced with dark, gritty humour that was unlike any other movie that Bollywood has minted.

With actors like Radhika Apte, Tabu and Ayushmann, this movie won’t set you up for disappointment.
    5. Karwaan  © RSVP Movies
A light-hearted and emotional movie that featured Mithila Palkar, Irrfan Khan and Dulqer Salman, Karwaan managed to unearth emotional layers of relationships.

It wasn’t a conventional boy meets girl kind of a movie, but it managed to have an impact that stayed long after you watched it.

Convention, history, public figures and even the big TedX speakers all suggest one way to land a successful career and that is hard work. Relentless hard work and sheer commitment ultimately lead you where you need to be.
While all of that is necessary, one thing that often gets overlooked is creativity. Especially in today’s day and age where getting replaced is as easy as shopping online.
And one person who may have cracked that code is this bystander from the London train station who managed to land a job for himself in the most unconventional way possible.
A 24-year-old man named Haider Malik, unemployed but definitely not uninspired, tried to land a job in a way no one would have thought would work.
    © Twitter
He stood at the London Canary Wharf station on Tuesday 2 November for almost three hours with a placard that read his educational and professional qualifications, all the while handing out pamphlets that contained his cv and one message - ‘looking for an entry-level job’.

And as someone who faced the brunt of the pandemic in finding a decent and stable job myself, the news resonated with me and others almost instantly.

The pamphlet also read, “Approach for my CV, any advice [or] just to chat," and little did he know people would. By 9:30 am, Haider Malik had already received a message from the Canary Wharf Group asking him to come and interview for the role of a Treasury Analyst an hour later.

Speaking about the stunt he pulled and where it led him, Malik said, “I got a text message from the director of the department at about 9.30 am saying 'come in for an interview at 10.30 am. I had my car in the car park so I took the board and took all my stuff. I was like 'wow, this is crazy'.”

He went on to share, “They interviewed me on the 30th floor of a building and I'm overlooking Canary Wharf thinking 'wow, I never expected to be interviewed here let alone potentially about to get a job'."

He had since then gone viral on social media, with his picture of standing at the station, CV in hand-typed on a placard being shared on LinkedIn and things just rolled in his favour.

Turns out, Malik was inspired by a 67-year-old-retired cab driver who moved to the UK from Pakistan when he was just in his teens and found a job with a similarly bold move that ultimately paid off.
He later shared his experience on social media where he wrote, “A lot can change in 14 days, I have accepted a role with the Canary Wharf Group plc, thank you to everyone that helped make this possible.”
    Isn’t that inspiring?

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is one celebrity that is known to have crazy fans all across the world. One of the most successful film actors on the planet, the fact that Shah Rukh is also a pretty charming personality in real life is the reason why he is loved and adored by fans, unlike any other superstar.
    © Instagram
Now, like all other Bollywood actors, Shah Rukh too has had different experiences while interacting with fans, with some being fairly nice and some being weird. Remembering one particularly bizarre event, Shah Rukh revealed how one fan really went an extra mile to creep him out.

Speaking to The Independent in the United Kingdom sometime back, Shah Rukh said that a super crazy fan once broke into his Mumbai home 'Mannat'. Not only that, but he also took off his clothes in order to swim with the superstar. Shah Rukh revealed how the fan just wanted to swim in Mannat's swimming pool, as he knew that Shah Rukh also bathes in it and had touched the water.
“One fan got into my house, stripped off his clothes, and went for a swim in my pool. When the security guards confronted him, he said he just wanted to bathe in the same water as Shah Rukh Khan. He didn’t want to meet me or have my autograph, just to bathe in the water.” said Shah Rukh.
Weird, right? We guess Shah Rukh would be used to this as he obviously made the 2016 film Fan which too was based on a crazy fan in the movie whose name was Gaurav Chandra.

While the movie may not have been the most successful Shah Rukh movie at the box office, it still revealed the extent to which fans of Bollywood superstars can go. Okay. Maybe the things in the movie were exaggerated, but still.

On the work front, Shah Rukh himself has actually been under the radar since the whole episode with his son Aryan last month. The actor, however, is reported to return to filming soon.
