Days after stand-up comedian and actor Vir Das made headlines for his monologue on ‘Two Indias’, delivered at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., he has finally broken his silence and said that he won’t stop doing his job. He was trolled heavily for insulting the country in a foreign land and was even termed as an ‘anti-national’.
In the nearly seven-minute-long video, Vir Das is heard talking about the duality of the country. He mentions topical issues India is grappling with including the battle against COVID-19. Vir talks about how Bollywood divides the nation on Twitter and ironically unites the audience in the theatres. He mentions how women are worshipped in the day and gang-raped at night. Vir is heard talking about the crackdown against comedians, lack of information about the PM CARES fund and does not forget to mention the farmers' protests. He also mentions that some might find it a gigantic joke but it’s not.
Here’s the video:
View this post on Instagram
In an exclusive interview with NDTV, Vir said, “I think laughter is a celebration. When laughter and applause fill up a room, that’s a moment of pride. Any Indian who has a sense of humour, understands satire, or watches my entire video, knows that’s what happened in that room.”
He went on to add, “I can’t expect what happens when I put out a piece of content — it’s jokes, it’s not in my hands,” Das stated. “I think a comedian puts out satire, it has the good of the country and the bad of the country, ending in the good of country…that’s something you should want to come together in.”
He also said that he has made his county laugh at his jokes for so many years and he won’t stop doing his job. “I have made my country laugh for 10 years now. I have devoted my life to writing about my country. We are here at the Emmys because I wrote a love letter to my country. As long as I am able to do my comedy, I want to keep writing love letters to my country,” Das said.
View this post on InstagramAfter his interview gained traction, people started to troll him brutally once again. One of the social media users went on to say that he should go to jail for giving this interview. Another said he should leave the country if he is not comfortable living here. Vir’s supporters gave it back to haters saying that he doesn’t owe anyone an explanation and he said nothing but the truth.
Here are the reactions:

Last month, Nawazuddin fans went into a frenzy when media headlines claimed that the actor was quitting OTT platforms for good. In his interview, he mentioned that OTT had become a ‘dhanda’ for production houses and that he was done with it. However, putting rumours to rest, in a recent interview with India Today, he addressed these tall claims and rubbished them as false rumours. He said that his words were actually taken out of context . "I am doing a lot of films for OTT. I am sitting here because of Netflix. OTT platforms have given us all international recognition. We get to showcase our talent there for the whole world to see. In my statement, I was talking about some production houses that randomly make anything. It was taken out of context and my intention was never to say that I want to quit OTT. I just don't want to do anything that looks like a serial”, he said.
View this post on Instagram
Nawazuddin is currently riding high on international success and has been nominated for ‘best actor’ at the International Emmy Award for his outstanding performance in Netflix series Serious Men. He plays the character of Ayyan Mani, a Dalit man and Nawazuddi has been very vocal about how his personal experiences helped him play this role. “Your experience speaks a lot when you are performing. Whenever you are playing a character, you have to relate to it in some way. I come from a very small village and eventually moved to a big city. So, the life experience that I got in between is something I often go back to while playing a character. I have met thousands of people. I feel it is an advantage because it supports me with the characters I play”, he quipped. He also mentioned that the angst and struggle faced by his character is something that he has already felt in real life. Well, it’ great to know that we shall continue watching him on OTT platforms and it's not the end of an era for his fans.

Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa’s relationship is a testimony to the fact that true love exists. They got married in an intimate wedding ceremony on November 15. The wedding ceremony took place in the presence of the couple’s close friends and family members. They got married at the Oberoi Sukhvilas Spa Resort, an 8,000-acre luxury hotel in the Siswan Forest Range, at the foothills of the Himalayas in New Chandigarh. The couple shared a wedding video wherein they are seen bashing patriarchal norms.
Here’s the video:
View this post on Instagram
If you have seen the video, you would agree with the fact it’s magical and they look deeply in love. Rajkummar greets her with loud whistles before exchanging hand gestures for 'I love you.' Patralekhaa said, “Raj, it's been 11 years but I just feel like I have known you for a lifetime and not only this lifetime. I am sure it has been many lifetimes.”
Rajkummar said that their connection is so deep that it doesn’t feel like they have known each other for these many years. “Honestly, it has been 10-11 years but it still feels like we've just started dating. We just love each other's company so much, we thought let's just do it. Let's just be husband and wife,” he says. As they exchanged the ‘varmalas’, Rajkummar tells Patralekhaa, “We keep saying this to each other but we are soulmates and I truly, truly believe that. Thank you for being my wife.”
View this post on Instagram
The biggest highlight is that Rajkummar finishes the video by putting vermilion on her forehead and asking her to do the same. With this, Rajkummar has shunned the patriarchal norms and proved that he is a real man and also a true feminist. The idea of feminism is to make sure that both genders are on an equal platform and, Raj and Patralekhaa are proof that equals can be happy together.
View this post on Instagram
In one of her earlier interviews with Humans of Bombay, Patralekhaa revealed how she first perceived Raj when she first saw him in Love *** Aur Dhokha (LSD). She said, "I thought that the weird guy he played in the film was actually what he was like. My perception of him was already tarnished. He told me later, that he had first seen me in an ad and thought, 'I'm going to marry her.' It was so ironic."

India achieved great results in the last four years with Ravi Shastri at the helm but that era came to an end earlier this month with his departure. He has been replaced by another legend of the game Rahul Dravid and people have already started making comparisons as to how different the two tenures will be.
It’s too early to predict the amount of success India will have in Dravid’s regime but one thing is for sure that unlike the former head coach, the new coach will be more humble in his approach. Whether the team wins or loses, his behaviour won’t change much.
© Reuters
Unlike Shastri, who used to make tall claims calling his side the greatest cricket team of all-time, many believe the current coach would refrain from making such big statements and leave it upto the fans and pundits to be the judges of that.
Many might argue that Shastri did nothing wrong by boasting about his team but former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir feels that it’s not a coach’s job to do, and described it as his biggest shortcoming.
© Reuters
“The one thing I found surprising is that when you play well, you don't usually boast about it. It's fine if others talk about it; when we won the 2011 World Cup, no one gave statements saying that this team is the best in the world, let alone country,” Gambhir said on Times Now Navbharat.
Gambhir said that even if the team achieves great results Dravid’s statements will always remain balanced. He won’t go make big statements about the players and their performances.
© Rishabh Pant Instagram
“When you win, let others talk about it. You won in Australia, that's a big achievement no doubt. You won in England, performed well, no doubt. But let others praise you. You won't hear such statements from Rahul Dravid. Whether India play good or bad, his statements will always remain balanced. Moreover, it will reflect on other players.
“Humility is very important, whether you play good or bad. Cricket won't go on forever. I think Dravid's major focus will be on players being good people first,” he added.
View this post on Instagram
Whatever Gambhir said about Dravid, turned out to be true after the New Zealand T20I series. The way India outclassed the touring team and completed a clean-sweep, Dravid could have heaped praise on his players and boasted about how they were able to put the T20 World Cup heartbreak behind them and perform as a complete unit but he didn’t do any of that.
While acknowledging that it was great to start off his tenure with a series win, he urged the players to “keep our feet on the ground” and be "realistic about this win."
© Twitter BCCI
“It was a really good series win. Everyone played really well right through the series. It feels good, nice to start well. We are also quite realistic. We have to keep our feet on the ground and be a bit realistic about this win,” Dravid said at the post-match presentation .
The way he commended the opposition for turning up for the series despite a short turnaround between the first T20I and the T20 World Cup final. He also highlighted the fact that it wouldn’t have been easy for the Kiwis to play the series right after their World Cup heartbreak.
View this post on Instagram
“Not easy for NZ to play a World Cup final and then to turn up three days later and play three games in six days, was never going to be easy for them. It was nice from our perspective but we have to learn from this series and move forward," he said.
“It's a long journey ahead over the next two years and we'll have our share of ups and downs,” he added.
© Twitter
Under Shastri, India became one of the top Test teams in the world but it couldn’t win any ICC title.
With three major ICC events lined up in the next two years, including the new WTC 2021-23 cycle, Dravid will have ample opportunity to leave his mark on the Indian team.

After the release of Gangubai Kathiawadi, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is expected to start working on his ambitious project Baiju Bawra. The makers are yet to make an official announcement regarding the film. However, Ranveer Singh is rumoured to be playing the lead role, while there is a strong buzz that Alia Bhatt has been finalised to come on board as the leading lady.
Now, the latest reports suggest that Bhansali's favourite Deepika Padukone too is keen on doing Baiju Bawra opposite hubby Ranveer. Speaking about the same, a source told Bollywood Hungama, "The heroine for Baiju Bawra is not final. It’s likely to be Alia Bhatt. She read the script and offered to do the film for free. Deepika was also keen to do Gangubai Kathiawadi. But at that point of time, Bhansali wanted Alia only. Now Deepika has her heart set on Baiju Bawra. She insists only she can play the role Meena Kumari played in the original."
While Bhansali is impressed by Deepika's efforts, he still wants to cast Alia for the much-hyped film. However, the official announcement is still awaited.
For the unversed, Deepika shares a great rapport with the director and has delivered hit films like Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani, and Padmaavat with him. While Alia, till now, has collaborated with Bhansali only once in Gangubai Kathiawadi.
On the career front, both the actresses have various big projects in their kitty. Talking about Deepika, she will next be seen reuniting with Ranveer in Kabir Khan's 83. The biographical sports drama is based on the life of former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev. In the film, Deepika is essaying the role of Romi Bhatia, wife of the legendary cricketer. She has also completed the shoot for Shakun Batra's untitled film co-starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Pandey. She's currently busy with Pathan opposite Shah Rukh Khan and also has The Intern remake alongside Amitabh Bachchan.
Alia, on the other hand, is set to make her Tollywood debut with SS Rajamouli's RRR featuring Ram Charan and Jr NTR in leads. It is set to release on January 7 in multiple languages including Hindi. Next, she will be seen playing the titular role in Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi. After getting delayed several times, the crime drama is slated to release on 18 February. Her line-up also includes Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra opposite boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor, first production venture Darlings, and Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani opposite Ranveer.
While both the actresses already have other films with Ranveer, who do you want to see opposite him in Baiju Bawra - Alia or Deepika? Comment below.

We can all agree that drinking a little alcohol can help you calm down the bedroom jitters. In fact, it can also help you get in the mood and be more confident in bed.
But is it healthy to rely on alcohol for good ***, every single time?
Not really.
Even though a couple of glasses of wine after dinner may not do any noticeable harm, in the long run, alcohol can have ill effects on your sexual health.
Don’t worry, we aren’t going to ask you to stop drinking altogether, but there are some things that you ought to know.
Here’s how alcohol affects your *** life and health.
1. Getting Hard May Be A ProblemYou must have heard about ‘whiskey dick’? While the term may sound gimmicky, it’s not entirely false. Alcohol can make it hard for men to get or keep an erection. This is also known as ‘erectile dysfunction’.
__ECOMPRODUCT__2823__
Alcohol interferes with the sensors in your brain that increase the blood flow and cause an erection. Regular drinking may also lower your testosterone levels which in turn reduces your *** drive. Fortunately, ED is a temporary problem that can be solved.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1843__
2. Unpredictable Ejaculations Like we mentioned earlier, alcohol interferes with the signals sent from your brain to the genitals. This may make it harder for men to either not ejaculate at all or ejaculate too quickly.
__ECOMPRODUCT__2234__
Although some types of alcohol, like wine, are aphrodisiacs, you need to consume them with precaution. A little bit can help you get in the mood, but too much of it can have the exact opposite effect.
__ECOMPRODUCT__2232__
3. Increased Risk Of STDs/STIs Alcohol increases one’s ability to take risks in bed and be open to experiments. As a result, you tend to think about protection the least. It increases the risk of sexually transmitted diseases, infections as well as injuries.
__ECOMPRODUCT__2649__
4. Lowers Your TestosteroneProlonged heavy drinking is unhealthy in more than one way. Not only does it reduce the levels of testosterone in your body, it also affects your liver, heart health and blood pressure.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1026__
In terms of your sexual health, lower levels of testosterone can lower your *** drive or libido. It can also reduce your sperm count and cause infertility in the future.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1569__
5. Can Alcohol Affect Your Size? If you’re wondering whether alcohol can affect your ***** size or not, you aren’t alone. In fact, it is a common myth that drinking alcohol can shrink your genitals. However, you can relax because so far, there’s no evidence to prove this statement.
__ECOMPRODUCT__2824__
While your ***** can shrink due to age and diet, alcohol will not be the cause behind it.
The Bottomline There you go, now you know all about the effects of alcohol on your sexual health. Avoid the myths, as well as that extra glass of whiskey, if you want to keep your body healthy.
Do you have any questions about your *** life and sexual health? Tell us in the comments below!

If there’s anyone who is braver than Indian army soldiers, it is perhaps their families. The parents, wife and the kids are no less of a fighter as they send their dear one to the battlefield to protect the nation. However, the wife of a martyr who joins the army after losing her husband on the battlefield is beyond fearless and a true hero.
© Twitter
There have been many instances where army wives have honoured their martyr husbands by joining the army and keeping their promise to serve the country. A few months ago, the nation hailed Nikita Kaul, wife of Major Vibhuti Shankar Dhoundiyal who was martyred in the devastating Pulwama attack, for joining the army. Now, there is another heroic woman who has vowed to give her life to the nation.
© Twitter
It is Jyoti Nainwal, wife of martyred soldier Naik Deepak Kumar Nainwal, who has joined the Indian Army as Lieutenant three years after her husband’s death. She was commissioned to the army after completing her training from the Officers Training Academy in Chennai on November 20, 2021.
© Twitter
Naik Deepak sustained bullet injuries in his chest in Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir in April 2018. After fighting for his life for 40 days, he succumbed to the injuries on May 20, 2018. He was survived by his wife and two kids. It was his last wish that his wife join the army.
© Twitter
In a video, she said, “He (Deepak) gifted us a life of pride which I am trying to carry forward. I’d like to thank my husband’s regiment. They stand with me at every step and treat me like a daughter. For brave women, I’d like to become a mother not for ‘janm’ (birth) but for ‘karm’ (deed), and whatever I live for, will be a gift to my children.”
© Twitter
Jyoti cracked the SSC exam on her fourth attempt earlier this year. She decided to join the army the day her husband sacrificed his life. She will be leaving her two kids back home to serve the country.
We salute her!

Wearing just about anything or nothing to bed is old news. Bedtime dressing is a real thing now and it can do more than just make you look good.
Bedtime dressing is perceived as a waste of time by many because there’re fewer people around to witness the outfit you put on or take off at night.
But indulging in smart and comfy cotton boxers, exploring a range of silk night suits for men or giving what you wear to bed more thought is a powerful act of self-care and can help you sleep better and faster.
via GIPHY
With that in mind, we’ve compiled a list of things you should and should not be wearing for a good night’s sleep.
What You Should Wear To BedHow to sleep fast? Pay attention to comfort. That’s your answer. If you’re not comfortable in your night suit, perhaps you need to reevaluate your bedroom essentials. Consider:
Soothing FabricsCotton: It’s breathable. It’s naturally cooling. It’s soft. Cotton boxers are a great option for warmer nights. However, it might not be the best option if you sweat a lot at night. __ECOMPRODUCT__2797__
Silk: The luxurious fabric is soft and soothing. It does a great job at maintaining body temperature and can keep warm during the cold and cool you up on warm nights. Silk, however, can be slippery, expensive and is dry-clean friendly.Linen: Pure linen clothes are soft and breathable. They are ideal for sweaty sleepers as the linen has natural heat and moisture-wicking properties. But linen is known to wrinkle easily.__ECOMPRODUCT__2798__
Wool: It’s a popular winter fabric that can keep you warm on colder nights but wool can also maintain the temperature of your body in warm weather.__ECOMPRODUCT__2799__
Bamboo: Bamboo fabric is surprisingly soft, naturally wicking and hypoallergenic. It also has antibacterial properties. __ECOMPRODUCT__2800__
__ECOMPRODUCT__2801__
Flannel: A soft, breathable fabric that keeps you warm and cosy in chilly weather. If you sweat a lot, flannel might be too hot for your body. __ECOMPRODUCT__2802__
Sleep AccessoriesEyemasks: Eye masks are designed to fool your brain into thinking it’s time to sleep. So if anything is blocking your good night’s sleep, use a mask. __ECOMPRODUCT__2803__
Socks: According to the National Sleep Foundation, warming your feet can actually help you fall asleep faster. So slide on a pair of lightweight socks to keep your tootsies cosy.__ECOMPRODUCT__2804__
Earplugs: Snoring, unpleasant and loud music, someone playing television in the next room, they’re all distractions that hit different when you’re trying to sleep. Consider blocking out the noise with a pair of good quality earplugs. What You Shouldn’t Wear To BedIf you’re not getting the sleep you need, one of the reasons could be the following hindrances. We suggest you avoid:
Uncomfortable FabricsLow-quality Fabrics: The better the quality of the fabric, the more comfortable your sleepwear will be. For example, high-quality cotton has a low thread count, which makes it softer and more durable. __ECOMPRODUCT__2805__
Wrinkle-free Fabrics: You might be tempted to buy wrinkle-free night suits if you toss and turn a lot at night. But people with sensitive skin and allergies should avoid them. The wrinkle-free agent, formaldehyde, used on fabric to make it resist wrinkles is a carcinogen—a cancer-causing substance.
__ECOMPRODUCT__2806__
Synthetic Fabrics: Fabrics like polyester, nylon and spandex can trap heat and moisture and make you feel hot and clammy. __ECOMPRODUCT__2807__
Clothing StylesTight Clothes: Tight clothing can cut off circulation and make your hands and feet tingle in the middle of the night.__ECOMPRODUCT__2808__
Tight Elastic: Pyjamas, boxers or undergarments with elastic too tight can cause chafing and soreness. __ECOMPRODUCT__2809__
Underwear: Your boxer briefs and briefs are a hotbed for bacteria and can cause irritations and yeast infections. So considering going commando to bed. __ECOMPRODUCT__2810__
Other Sleep HindrancesMakeup: Sleeping with makeup on is not just bad for your pillowcase, it’s also bad for your skin. It can clog pores and cause acne. Remove any form of makeup and dirt from your face before heading to bed.__ECOMPRODUCT__2811__
Thick Socks: During winter, heavy, insulating socks may feel comfy at first but they can make your feet sweat and overheat in the course of a night.__ECOMPRODUCT__2812__
Dirty Pyjamas: While sleeping, your skin sheds dead skin, sweat, you drool and your body releases oil. If your PJs are cleaned regularly if you fall sick or develop skin problems.__ECOMPRODUCT__2813__
Bedsheets & Blankets: Keep changing your bedsheet weekly and clean your blanket every month. Dirty sheets and blankets can be as damaging as your unwashed clothes. So clean them before the sweat smell sets in.__ECOMPRODUCT__2814__
How To Stay Warm In BedIf your continue to shiver at night even after putting on layers of blankets, you’ve probably forgotten to wear the most important item of clothing—socks.
You lose body heat through your feet. This is why you need to cover them at night to keep your body warm.
__ECOMPRODUCT__2815__
How To Keep Cool In BedIf you sweat a lot at night, it’s probably because your bedtime clothes are made of synthetic fabrics which can trap body heat and moisture.
Switch to 100% cotton or bamboo as they are many breathable fabrics and can keep maintaining your body’s temperature more efficiently.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1139__
That’s about it, folks! May you see some well-dressed dreams.

Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Raj Kundra are celebrating their 12th wedding anniversary today (November 22). On the special occasion, the Dhadkan star took to social media and posted a few unseen pictures from their marriage ceremony along with a heartfelt wish for her husband.
Sharing a picture collage from their marriage, Shilpa wished "happy anniversary" to her "cookie" Raj Kundra. In one of the pictures, Kundra could be seen putting a mangalsutra around Shilpa's neck. In another, he is putting sindoor on her head.
Reminiscing the past 12 years with Raj, Shilpa wrote, "This moment and day 12 years ago, we made and continue to fulfil a promise; of sharing the good times & bearing the hard times, of trusting in love & God to show us the way… side by side, day by day. 12 years and not counting… Happy Anniversary, Cookie! Here’s to many more rainbows, laughter, milestones, and our prized possessions… our children".
In the post, she further thanked her well-wishers who have been with the couple through "thick and thin."

For the unversed, the couple exchanged wedding vows on November 22, 2009. They are parents to two kids, Viaan Kundra and Samisha Kundra. Earlier this year, in August-September, the Kundra family went through a tough phase when Raj was arrested for making and publishing adult films. Due to his alleged involvement, he spent around 60 days in jail and was released on bail later. Since then, he has been away from social media.
