Two losses in two games has left the Indian cricket team reeling at the second-last spot in the group standings. No disrespect to Namibia but even they have opened their account in the tournament and are placed above Virat Kohli’s men in the points table.
Having already announced that he would give up T20Is captaincy after the 2021 T20 World Cup, Kohli came into the mega-event hoping to end his captaincy reign on a high and guide the team to an ICC title that has eluded him ever since he took charge. However, nothing has gone as planned.

The Indian team lost to the arch-rivals Pakistan for the first time in World Cup history, both ODI and T20I combined. Then, they suffered an eight-wicket thrashing at the hands of their old nemesis New Zealand in a virtual quarter-final contest.
The players have looked disjointed. Even the presence of former India skipper MS Dhoni in the dressing room has failed to inspire the players to go out and challenge the opposition, without thinking about the result.

On paper, India’s T20 World Cup campaign still has three matches left but most people who understand cricket know that only a miracle could save their journey in this tournament because after losing to the Kiwis, Team India has all but ended its chance of reaching the semi-finals.
Apart from the team's horrendous performance, experts have raised serious doubts over the team combination and Kohli’s decision-making . Watching the Men In Blue struggle in their opening two matches of the T20 World Cup has made the BCCI hierarchy very unhappy.

“The board is unhappy. And there is serious doubt over his (Virat) ODI captaincy now as well. But three games still left and if India, by any chance, manage to qualify and fight back in the tournament then the scenario could change. But, right now, if you ask me or anybody, Virat is doubtful as ODI captain,” reported News18, quoting a source.
“It is too early to name anybody, let the T20 World Cup get over. Rahul Dravid may also join the team as head coach soon. He will be discussed as well. Rohit or anybody else, or Virat continues, everything will be done afterwards. There are chances that India get one captain for T20 and ODI formats and one (Virat) for Tests,” he added.

Not just his critics, even his fans wanted this thing to get done with quickly so that he could concentrate on his batting and win India matches with his batting like he used to do playing under Dhoni’s leadership.
At the same time, there were some people who argued that it was the right time to strip him of his captaincy duties in the limited-overs format because he always fails in the big ICC tournaments.
Virat Kohli cannot lead a team in pressure situation. He has a track record of losing High pressure matches. Rohit should lead in odi.

— Vinay Patil (@VinayPa10882983) November 2, 2021Bcci has every right to change odi captain : 4icc tournaments, 9ipl no trophies , then how can he lead 2023wc
— Subhash1971 (@SiddharthRoy29) November 1, 2021There is no doubt. He should remain test captain only. Limited overs is not his cup of tea.
— pisean282311 (@pisean282311) November 1, 2021If it is not working we need to move forward, else we might end up same in ODI world cup
— 0 (@KG__BM) November 1, 2021If it's true that will be the greatest thing will be happen to Indian cricket.
— Roushan (@Roshan_19955) November 1, 2021If these reports are to be believed the only way Kohli can keep hold of his position as the ODI captain is by making India reach the last-four stage. But the condition that the BCCI has laid out for Kohli to keep his ODI captaincy would be very difficult to fulfill because his fate is not in his hands anymore. The only way India can qualify is if Afghanistan beats New Zealand and India win all three remaining matches by a huge margin.
The journey ahead is difficult and the message for the Indian skipper is clear. Make it to the knock-out stage or else get ready to face the sack in the 50-over format.

The Indian cricket team is in a bit of disarray after losing back to back matches at the T20 World Cup 2021 to Pakistan and New Zealand respectively and are on the verge of being ruled of any chances of making it to the next round, ahead of their match against Afghanistan on Wednesday.
One of the biggest issues that is haunting Indian skipper Virat Kohli is to send Ishan Kishan with KL Rahul at the opening spot while demoting top-batter Rohit Sharma to the number three spot in the crucial match against the Black Caps on Sunday.
"I don't know with what mindset and attitude they were playing. Why did Rohit Sharma bat at 3, why did they open with Ishan Kishan?." - Shoaib Akhtar
— CricketMAN2 (@man4_cricket) November 1, 2021
Many felt that it was a dictatorial decision by Kohli to replace Sharma with Kishan as the top of the batting order, while others felt that this particular move could have destroyed Sharma’s confidence as the top-tier hitter.
Former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar was also a member of the group of people who blamed Kohli for Sharma’s demotion and even slammed the Indian skipper for jeopardising not only the match against the Kiwis but also Sharma’s form for the remainder of the tournament.
“If you do that to a player who has been playing at a position for so many years, he himself will think that maybe he doesn't have the ability. If Ishan Kishan had made 70-odd runs we would have applauded. But when the ploy doesn't work, you are going to be criticised,” Gavaskar had said on Monday, calling out the skipper’s unconventional approach towards the Kiwi bowling attack.
However, the Indian batting coach, Vikram Rathour spoke up about the issue on Tuesday, addressing the fact that Sharma was as involved in this decision-making process as any other member of the management was and that it was a collective choice to send the southpaw over the vice-captain as the team opener.
"How things went was Surya was having some back spasm the previous night and was not fit enough to take the field. The person coming in was of course Ishan and we know Ishan had done well as an opener as he has done well in the past," Rathour said. "As far as who took that call, it's the whole management that sits and takes that call and, of course, Rohit himself is a part of that management. He was part of that discussion.
After this revelation by the batting coach, it didn’t take long for people to realise how wrong they were to slam Kohli alone for this move, and why Rohit Sharma was not a victim his fans (and Sunil Gavaskar) were thinking of him to be.
So, now Rohit to be kicked out and give belt treatment ah pic.twitter.com/Zst5NiGlUq
— Virat.Kohli (@KohliStan18) November 2, 2021Poor haters on social media has nothing left to blame now as Rohit himself was a part of that decision to bat at 3.

— Kishan Singh (@Kishn_viratian) November 2, 2021If rohit told ishan to open, then definitely he won't be coming at no 3.

Shah Rukh Khan is not someone who needs a hundred stories being churned out only to call him a messiah. SRK has always kept himself connected to his roots while helping people in need and always done so silently without any PR machinery promoting such incidents. From helping the victims of the Chennai floods to sending PPE kits to the hospital staff in times of pandemic, he has never shied away from helping people. This is why the superstar is revered so much.

Director Hansal Mehta has reaffirmed Shah Rukh's knack for doing charity silently. He recently posted a long note elaborating why he loves SRK and respects him as a superstar. He also narrated an incident wherein the Khan reached out to him for helping a child.
Hansal Mehta wrote, “Why @iamsrk is a superstar forever and why I love him. I've interacted with SRK thrice- once on Twitter and on another occasion briefly at a party. The third time is why for me he will always be a true star. I was seeking help for a child who was suffering from a tumour and needed urgent financial support for life-saving surgery.”

He recalled that he had tweeted about it at midnight and then slept as he had to go for an early morning shoot in Haryana. “I was on a shoot and I had 3 missed calls from a number I did not recognize. I had a very polite area from the number asking me to call back. The message was from SRK. I called his not knowing why he wanted to speak to me. It was about the child. He said whatever they need will be taken care of. In less than a few hours the hospital was contacted funds were transferred. Somebody got a new life. Quietly, gently, without fuss, a life was saved. This happened once again a few months later. Another life was saved. Quietly and without any fuss or publicity.”
He also added, “A man idolized by millions and with whom I have almost zero personal or professional connect has a permanent place in my little heart because of his big heart and his humanity. A star is loved for his films, his persona, his charisma but for me, a superstar is somebody who possesses that rare compassion and unlikely humility when helping somebody in need. When I thanked him all he said was something like I have a lot and this is the least I can do. Shahrukh Khan, you are my star. Forever. Happy birthday, SRK.”
Hansal was one of the very first people in the industry who came out in support of SRK when Aryan Khan was arrested in connection with the possession of drugs after a cruise raid. He had written, “It is painful for a parent having to deal with a child getting into trouble. It gets compounded when people begin to arrive at judgements before the law takes its course. It is disrespectful and unfair to the parent and to the parent-child relationship. With you @iamsrk.”

It's truly heartwarming to read about such incidents and to see that SRK has a true supporter in Hansal Mehta.

As the Indian cricket team stands on its last leg with very little to no hopes of making it to the next round of the T20 World Cup 2021, Pakistani legend Shoaib Akhtar has added fuel to the fire about the possibility of a division within the Men in Blue with regards to Virat Kohli and his leadership.
Akhtar’s remarks came after India lost their second consecutive match of the ongoing tournament, this time to Kane Williamson’s New Zealand squad. Here’s what the Pakistani legend said about what he saw in the Indian camp while talking about it on his YouTube channel:
“Why I can see that there are two camps within the team? One is with the Kohli and one against Kohli. It's crystal clear. The team is looking divided. I don't know why this is happening. Maybe it's because of his last T20 World Cup as a skipper. Maybe he made wrong decisions, which is true. But he's a great cricketer, and we have to respect him,” Akhtar said.
"Yes, criticism is important because they played bad cricket against New Zealand and had the wrong attitude. Yesterday, after they lost the toss, everyone's heads were down. They had no idea whatsoever. India, you only lost the toss by that time, not the whole match. They were just present there, and had no gameplan whatsoever." Akhtar added.

The ‘Rawalpindi Express’ went on to request everyone to continue to show respect for Kohli as a cricketer, even if the man made some bad decisions as a captain in the first two matches of their 2021 World Cup campaign.
It has been a horrific month for Virat Kohli, who ended his stint as the captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise in the Indian Premier League on a disappointing note, followed by becoming the only Indian captain to lose to Pakistan in a World Cup match, and is now on the verge of losing his ODI captaincy as well if the Men in Blue failed to make it to the semi-finals of the ongoing tournament, which is highly unlikely.
India are set to compete against Afghanistan at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.
