Mahendra Singh Dhoni agreed to become the mentorΒ for the Indian cricket team, not more than a couple of months ago and the former skipper seems to know exactly what and how does he need to train the young guns of the squad ahead of the T20 World Cup 2021.
With just two days left for the Virat Kohli-led side to play their first official match of the tournament against Pakistan, a video of β€˜mentor’ Dhoni imparting invaluable wicket-keeping knowledge to his prodigy, Rishabh Pant, had gone viral on social media.

Fans from all corners of the country were simply overjoyed to watch their favourite wicket-keeper of all time being finally back in a Team India jersey, albeit as a mentor of the supporting staff.
The sight of a young and energetic Pant getting to embrace the years and years of unorthodox knowledge that a keeper as unique as Dhoni gathered over the course of decades of experience had their supporters raving online.
    MS is working too hard.

According to BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, the plans of having Dhoni onboard as the mentor for the Indian side wasn’t even a plan until the second leg of the Indian Premier League began in the United Arab Emirates earlier this year.
The unofficial position of being a mentor to the team was specifically made for β€˜Thala’ simply because of the kind of winning experience that he possesses when it comes to World Cups and other ICC tournaments.

β€œHe was okay with my decision and agreed to be a Team Mentor of Team India for the T20 World Cup only. I am glad that MS (Dhoni) has accepted the BCCI’s offer and he is keen to contribute to the national team once again. MS will work closely with Ravi Shastri as well as other support staff to provide support and direction to Team India,” Shah had said.
It was also revealed by the Indian cricket board official that β€˜Captain Cool’ had agreed to fulfill this duty while taking absolutely no special salary from the organisation and that he made his services available to the squad for free.

At 40 years of age, Dhoni also won his fourth IPL title as the CSK skipper mere days before starting his campaign with the Indian squad.

With just a couple of days left for India’s first match of the T20 World Cup 2021 against Pakistan, former Pakistani skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq’s comments about the Virat Kohli-led squad are making headlines among international cricket fans.
"In any tournament, it cannot be said for certain that a particular team will win. It's all about how much chance do they have of winning it. In my opinion, India have a greater chance than any other team of winning this tournament, especially in conditions like these. They have experienced T20 players as well," Inzamam said on his YouTube channel.

"India played their warm-up fixture against Australia rather comfortably. On subcontinent pitches like these, India are the most dangerous T20 side in the world. Even today, if we see the 155 runs they chased down, they did not even need Virat Kohli to do so," he added.
The Pakistani great’s remark came a day after former England skipper and analyst Michael Vaughan had made a rather eyebrow-raising comment about the Men in Blue, in which he said that he didn’t understand the reason behind Team IndiaΒ being seen as a favourite to win the tournament this time around.
"I don't know how India get the 'Favourites' tag in T20 Cricket." - Michael Vaughan (To BBC Test match special)
    β€” CricketMAN2 (@man4_cricket) October 20, 2021
β€œEngland for me are the favourites. I don’t know how India get the 'favourites' tag in T20 cricket. I just think they’ve been a long way off in the last few tournaments,” Vaughan had said in the BBC Test Match Special podcast earlier this week.
β€œWest Indies and Pakistan will be threats. I wouldn’t write off Pakistan either. New Zealand have high-class players and you know they will come up with strategies to win games,” he had added.

India dominated two of the four SENA teams during the warm-up matches which were held in the past couple of days. First, they defeated Eoin Morgan’s England side by seven wickets, which was followed by an eight-wicket victory against Aaron Finch’s Australian squad in which Virat Kohli acted as a bowler and a tailender, rather than a top-order batter.
"The match between India and Pakistan in the Super 12s is the final before the final. No match will be hyped as much as this one. Even in the 2017 Champions Trophy, India and Pakistan started and finished the tournament by facing each other and both the matches felt like finals. The team winning that match will have their morale boosted and will also have 50 percent of pressure released from them," Inzamam-ul-Haq concluded in his video.
