The Indian Premier League (IPL) is not just the biggest cricket league in the world but is also among the top five most-watched sports leagues in the world. Compared to some of the other popular sports leagues, IPL is just an infant but has spread its wings farther than most in a short period of time.
To be fair, India being the second-most populous country in the world has certainly helped. That said, no other cricket league comes close to IPL when it comes to quality and fan experience.

For the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the richest cricket board in the world, IPL is like a cash-cow which keeps giving. The BCCI generates a large part of its revenue from the IPL and it only makes sense that they want to leverage its popularity.

Barring three seasons, the tournament has been an eight-team tournament since its inception but the BCCI wants to increase the number of teams to 10 and has floated tenders for the same. The Indian board has fixed the base price for two teams at Rs 2,000 crore and still there is no dearth of aspirants who want to own an IPL team.

Apart from several big Indian industrialists, even the foreign companies have also expressed interest in buying the team. The biggest name, however, is of the Glazer family that owns English football giants Manchester United -- one of the most popular football clubs in the world.

β€œSo, technically, overseas investors are eligible to submit a bid if they meet these conditions. We don't really know whether Man U owners will come to the bidding table. What we certainly know is that they've shown interest,” said those who are tracking the developments, as quoted by The Times of India.
    Red Devils
Those who follow football would know that the Glazer family has often received criticism for ruining the Red Devils by treating it like a money-making machine. Last year their fans had invaded the pitch to protest against their wealthy owners which led to the postponement of their home match against Liverpool.

The protest was in response to United’s part in the failed European Super League project that failed within 48 hours after severe backlash from the supporters all over Europe.
Reading about the reports of Glazer family showing interest in owning an IPL franchise, the furious Indian fans made a sincere appeal to the US-based owners, urging them to spare cricket for good.
No way idhar bhi ake vaat lagani

We want only Indian companies to take over IPL teams

β€” Jay. (@peak_Ability18) October 21, 2021there absolute shit owners, only care about the money
β€” Chops (@ChopsUtd) October 21, 2021But some people thought it might actually be good for the game. They argued that the association with the Glazers would help cricket become a global sport and set foot on the unchartered territories.
Whether they actually come to the auction table or not that remains to be seen. But it definitely speaks volumes about IPL’s popularity.

β€˜Love’ is an emotion we often associate with joy, laughter and nirvana. After all, it’s the most beautiful feeling in the world.
But what happens when love flips to the wild side? When it turns into a dark obsession and crosses all levels of insanity?
Upcoming thriller series Girgit explores this wild theme where people give into their darkest desires and unleash their inner demons in the name of love.
    Β
Looks interesting, right? Here’s what we loved about Girgit’s trailer:

Stellar Cast We’d Love To Watch In A Series The moment I spotted Nakul Roshan Sahdev in the trailer, I knew I’ll be binge-watching this series. Previously seen in films like Gully Boy (2019), Pagglait (2021) and Karma Cafe (2019), Nakul has won our hearts time and again, with his acting and his dapper looks!
    MX Player
Taniya Kalrra, too looks convincing in her role and has good screen presence. The series also stars Trupti Khamkar, Ashmita Jaggi, Samar Vermani, Aleksandar Ilic,

Shahwar Ali and Ashish Tyagi amongst others
We Got A Sneak Peek Of The Mind-Blowing Plot This series deep dives into the dysfunctional aspect of love, one that is devoid of ethics and thrives on greed. We see characters deceive, charm and kill in pursuit of their material lust. The show revolves around a murder investigation of a very dysfunctional relationship that only gets more and more complicated as the case progresses.
Same *** Relationships From the looks of it, this series has β€œmodern relationships” written all over it. While it unravels the dark side of human behaviour, it also celebrates the beauty of modern love. We see a same *** couple (two women) fighting for their love, not worrying about the judgmental society - you go girls!
Graphics Par Excellence As the name suggests, this show portrays how people change their colours as per their whims and fancies. Every character unravels dark and wild traits that make him/her resemble a chameleon - unpredictable and selfish. The fast-paced trailer depicts this theme using various colour schemes - red, lightning blue, rust orange and eerie green - showing different versions of a person’s personality.Β
    MX Player
One of the dialogues in the trailer captures the essence of the show perfectly - β€œGirgit, kab kahaan kaise kaunsa rang badalke kuchh bhi karde, no one knows.”
Excited about this thriller series? So are we!
To stream the 7 episodes of Girgit, upgrade the MX Player app and subscribe to MX Gold (the platform’s subscription VOD service) to binge this series for less than Rs.1/- day starting October 27.

Rashid Khan is just 23 years old and one of the biggest hopefuls for the fans of the Afghanistan cricket team who are looking forward to competing for their very first ICC title at a global level ahead of the T20 World Cup 2021.Β
He is completely dialed in and focused on his career as an elite cricketer, dedicated to trying and bringing home the prestigious ICC trophy. So when he was asked about whether he had any plans of getting married anytime soon, it caught him by surprise.
View this post on Instagram"Actually, I was so shocked when I heard this because, to be honest, I never made a statement that I will marry once I win the World Cup," Rashid informed AFP when asked about his thoughts about tying the knot.
"I just said that in the next few years I have more cricket and three World Cups (the 2021 and 2022 Twenty20 World Cups and the 50-over World Cup in 2023) so my focus will be on cricket rather than on getting married," he added.

Having made his debut for his national squad at the 17 years of age, Rashid is already a team veteran with 51 T20 international matches and almost 300 matches across of all formats of the game, including franchise cricket in leagues such as the Indian Premier League, the Big Bash League and The Hundred. He has 95 wickets in T20 internationals with an average of just 12.63 and in 2020 was voted the ICC's Cricketer of the Decade in the format.

There is another 23-year old exceptional athlete of a lad who got exposed to questions about getting married despite just doing wonders at the greatest sporting stage of them all. Neeraj Chopra, who won India’s very first Olympic gold medal in javelin throwing at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, was also subjected to such issues, even though he had never talked about or shown any interest in wedding bells anytime soon.
The Indian athlete even went on to mock the Indian media journalists for showing overzealousness towards his personal life in an incredibly hilarious commercial for a credit-paying app last month.
