New Show ‘Girgit’ Shows Us The Dark Side Of Love & The Trailer Looks Promising

‘Love’ is an emotion we often associate with joy, laughter and nirvana. After all, it’s the most beautiful feeling in the world.

But what happens when love flips to the wild side? When it turns into a dark obsession and crosses all levels of insanity?

Upcoming thriller series Girgit explores this wild theme where people give into their darkest desires and unleash their inner demons in the name of love.

Looks interesting, right? Here’s what we loved about Girgit’s trailer:

Stellar Cast We’d Love To Watch In A Series

The moment I spotted Nakul Roshan Sahdev in the trailer, I knew I’ll be binge-watching this series. Previously seen in films like Gully Boy (2019), Pagglait (2021) and Karma Cafe (2019), Nakul has won our hearts time and again, with his acting and his dapper looks!

Taniya Kalrra, too looks convincing in her role and has good screen presence. The series also stars Trupti Khamkar, Ashmita Jaggi, Samar Vermani, Aleksandar Ilic,

Shahwar Ali and Ashish Tyagi amongst others

We Got A Sneak Peek Of The Mind-Blowing Plot

This series deep dives into the dysfunctional aspect of love, one that is devoid of ethics and thrives on greed. We see characters deceive, charm and kill in pursuit of their material lust. The show revolves around a murder investigation of a very dysfunctional relationship that only gets more and more complicated as the case progresses.

Same *** Relationships

From the looks of it, this series has “modern relationships” written all over it. While it unravels the dark side of human behaviour, it also celebrates the beauty of modern love. We see a same *** couple (two women) fighting for their love, not worrying about the judgmental society - you go girls!

As the name suggests, this show portrays how people change their colours as per their whims and fancies. Every character unravels dark and wild traits that make him/her resemble a chameleon - unpredictable and selfish. The fast-paced trailer depicts this theme using various colour schemes - red, lightning blue, rust orange and eerie green - showing different versions of a person’s personality.

One of the dialogues in the trailer captures the essence of the show perfectly - “Girgit, kab kahaan kaise kaunsa rang badalke kuchh bhi karde, no one knows.”

Excited about this thriller series? So are we!

To stream the 7 episodes of Girgit, upgrade the MX Player app and subscribe to MX Gold (the platform’s subscription VOD service) to binge this series for less than Rs.1/- day starting October 27.
