    The Covid pandemic impacted the daily lives of millions across the world, with a lot of people even losing their jobs or working on really low salaries, or at times no salaries at all. At such a dire time, what if someone told you that back when people were not even able to afford a basic living, people at the top gained a lot of money?
    Yeah, that's exactly what happened in Bollywood, according to actor Ronit Roy.

    Ronit, who is a very renowned Indian television and Bollywood actor, having starred in the commercial and critical hit Udaan, says that he knows for a fact that while a lot of people working in the industry were having pay-cuts, Bollywood A-list actors were actually doubling their salaries.

    Sounds insane, right? Well, Ronit sure spills some beans in his latest interview.
    “I have verified information that all the A-listers have doubled their fees, aur gareebon ka paisa kaat rahe hain (they are cutting salaries of poor people). This is something very wrong which is happening in our industry,” said Ronit.
    The actor, who made quite a name for himself through the Indian soap Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, says that it was absolutely crazy for the low-wage workers to have salary cuts when A-listers could have easily taken the cut.
    “It is all bulls**t when they try to cut salaries of people who don’t come from such affluent backgrounds. A lightman has to run his house, what will you get by cutting his salary? Pay cut karna hai toh A-lister ka pay cut karo na, why are you trying to just focus on the poor people for it? It is just not right,” he said while speaking to Hindustan Times.
    Ronit, who along with Rohit, had been a prominent actor in the industry with a lot of years of experience, has been running a security agency for quite some time, with many Bollywood actors being his clients.
    However, during the pandemic, even his business was hit very hard, leading to many actors choosing to withdraw, leaving his agency in a severe crisis. As per Ronit, had it not been for a few Bollywood stars who stuck by him, things could have been very difficult for him and his employees.  
    “At the time of my financial crisis, it was only Akshay Kumar sir, Amitabh Bachchan sir and Karan Johar who supported me, baaki saare bhag gaye saying, ‘Covid ke baad dekhenge (we will see after Covid)’. Now, I think yeh log Rs 5000 ya Rs 10,000 crore kahan leke jayenge.” said Ronit.

    The actor, however, chose to lead by example and kept his staff of 125 on rolls, and even went on to the extent of dipping into his own savings to pay their salaries.

    With not much time left in their opening encounter against Pakistan, everyone from fans to experts are  busy predicting what India’s Playing XI might look like on October 24. While there is a consensus on a majority of players, there are a few spots which are invoking varied opinions.

    The biggest point of contention is whether all-rounder Hardik Pandya deserves a place in the Playing XI against Pakistan or not. Experts like Parthiv Patel and Ajit Agarkar believe that even if he doesn’t bowl, the Baroda all-rounder is still a phenomenal batter who can turn the tide with his explosive batting lower down the order, hence deserves a chance in the line-up.

    While they are right in saying that Hardik can swing the momentum if he gets going but the problem is he has been out of form for quite some time now and playing him without his bowling would be like taking a gamble.

    Not to forget selectors picked Hardik for his all-round abilities and if he can’t fulfill one of them then it’s better to leave him out so that it doesn’t affect the balance of the team.

    While Agarkar is ready to ignore Hardik’s lean patch, he has passed his judgement on Bhuvneshwar Kumar leaving him out of the Playing XI based on his one poor performance during the warm-up game performance against England.

    Hardik’s fitness is the biggest cause of concern but most experts have turned a blind eye to this issue and are suggesting Kohli to replace a front-line seamer Bhuvneshwar with a bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur.

    "Relatively certain that Virat Kohli would like six bowling options. If the pitch has something to offer, then you can perhaps take a chance with five bowlers, but if it’s a flat pitch, he would ideally want to go in with six bowlers with three seamers and they have lots of spin options,” Agarkar said on Star Sports show ‘Cricket Connected’.

    “And Jadeja is an all-rounder whose batting has come out in leaps and bounds. So, you can treat him as one of the top-order batsmen. So, my six options – if Hardik Pandya is not to bowl - would be Bumrah, Shami, Shardul, Ravindra Jadeja, Varun Chakravarthy and Rahul Chahar,” explained Agarkar,” he added.

    This suggestion irked many fans online and they took to the micro-blogging site to slam Agarkar and his useless advice. Some angry fans even said that they weren’t surprised with Agarkar pushing for Thakur’s inclusion because belongs to the ‘Mumbai Lobby’ that always prefers players from their home state to other deserving players.

    Starting out with minor roles in acclaimed films like Bandit Queen, Dil Se, Black Friday, Gajraj Rao made it big and gained popularity with TVF’s series Tech Conversations With Dad in 2018. He got recognition with National Award-winning Badhaai Ho! which was released in the same year and then, there was no looking back for the actor. 
    His performance as the middle-aged new father in the movie won hearts. While Ayushmann Khurrana and Sanya Malhotra were the main leads, it was Gajraj Rao and Neena Gupta who were real stars of the movie. Neena’s character (who plays Ayushmann’s mother in the film) gets pregnant at an older age and this surprises everyone within the family and the society. Gajraj who plays Ayushmann’s father had to deal with societal taboos because of becoming a father at the age of 50. 

    It was a tricky situation for Gajraj as he was apprehensive about taking up the role. In an earlier interview with Mumbai Mirror, he said, "Badhaai Ho changed my life! Amit Sharma (director) and I have known each other for more than two decades. When he narrated the script to me, I found it amazing. My first thought was, ‘Is this for real? Am I actually getting this offer?', before realizing that it indeed was real... But then, my apprehensions kicked in and I was conscious if I could do justice with the character of Jitendra Kaushik because never before was I offered such a big role. But Amit was hellbent on casting me."

    Speaking on his wife's reaction, Gajraj Rao said, “When I told my wife that it was a story about a couple expecting a child in their 50s and that people might make fun of me, she blatantly stated that I was no Ranbir Kapoor or Ranveer Singh, and even if the film does not work, it won't affect my career or image. So I decided to go ahead with it."
    We are glad that his wife was able to convince him as he nailed the role. 
    Gajraj Rao also revealed, "Ayushmann told me that this film will turn your life around. I used to feel that he's probably saying it because he's a star and to maybe keep our hearts. In fact, he recommended me for this film."
    The film was a masterpiece in itself and did initiate the conversation around the couple who become parents late in their lives.

    Ever since Aryan Khan was detained by NCB along with several others after a cruise party was raided, the topic has been the center of all discussions on Twitter with people debating over the entire episode.
    After the court hearings, it was revealed that NCB hadn’t found any drugs on him but they were investigating his WhatsApp chats followed by the court rejecting his bail plea. "Aryan Khan sourced drugs and was in touch with some persons abroad who appear to be a part of an International Drug Network for illicit procurement of drugs. WhatsApp chats reveal the accused was in touch with a foreign national for a bulk quantity of hard drugs," the statement of the anti-drugs agency read.

    He has been in the Arthur Jail for two weeks now. And with many Bollywood celebs coming out in the support of Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan, Twinkle Khanna has now joined the brigade and has defended his case. She has also compared it with an episode of Squid Game.  
    Citing the example from one of the episodes of the popular South Korean drama, she wrote, “Each player is given ten marbles and must get their opponent’s marbles by competing in any game of their choosing. In this episode, one of the strongest candidates is badgered and ultimately bamboozled into losing his marbles. I seem to have misplaced mine as well when I read the news about Shah Rukh Khan’s son’s arrest."
    She went on to say, “While his friend was apparently carrying 6g of charas, there is reportedly no evidence of possession by Aryan Khan. Yet, the young boy has been languishing in Arthur Road jail for almost two weeks now."
    “I suppose I feel like emulating one of Arnab’s dramatic proclamations where he once said, ‘Mujhe drug do, Mujhe drugs do,’ because I need some heavy-duty psychotropic substances to make sense of this development,” Twinkle concluded with a satirical anecdote of famous Indian journalist Arnab Goswami.

    Aryan was arrested by the NCB on October 3. He has spent 17 days in custody and a special court will hear his bail plea on October 20.

    So, Venom 2 just hit the theatres recently and has been smashing good numbers at the box office mainly because Sony's superhero movie once again brings the brilliant Tom Hardy back, battling his own demon/symbiote to fight against the big bad Carnage.
    Well, the movie really was pretty decent, and it had a pretty satisfying ending to it, with the post-credit scene (SPOILER ALERT) clearly being something that is being talked about a lot.

    As things go, Tom Holland's Spider-Man from the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home, certainly has a thing or two to do with Tom Hardy's Venom universe as well, with the post-credit scene showcasing Venom being transported to a universe that has Spider-Man in it as well.

    With Tom Holland already revealing just recently that the upcoming third film will be the last in the MCU Spider-Man series, it certainly looks like the Spider-Man property is coming back to Sony, meaning that the Venom-Spider-Man crossover is all but confirmed.
    Here are 3 reasons why you should totally be excited:
    1. Spider-Man & Venom Battle © Sony
    Anyone who has followed the comics, the TV series, or even the 2007 Tobey Maguire Spider-Man 3 movie, knows that Spider-Man and Venom aren't the best of friends. In fact, it is because of Peter Parker's Spider-Man that Eddie Brock leaves New York City for San Francisco, a city which is also shown to be the home of Tom Hardy's character in the Sony Venom movies.

    Eddie hates Peter and Venom hates Spider-Man, meaning that there is bound to be friction once they meet on screen, leaving fans with what could be the best fights in the superhero universe.

    Tom Holland and Tom Hardy are without a doubt two of the most talented British actors currently in commercial cinema, meaning that their portrayals of Spider-Man and Venom will bring a star-studded cast to a superhero movie unlike any other. (Okay, I know we love the Avengers, but still)

    With that being said, Sony has considered Spider-Man as its gold property, and would look to make it one of the grandest movies. After all, if you're not going to make the most of the movies that include the two Toms fighting against or with each other on-screen, then you might as well hand Spider-Man back over to the MCU, something that Sony would absolutely hate doing again.

    One reason why Spider-Man would be welcomed back in Sony is that the superhero brings back a whole list of different enemies and interesting characters along with him. I mean, if Sony just has the license of the Spider-Man villains and not Spider-Man himself, then what is the damn point, right?

    After all, Venom is truly more of an anti-hero than being an actual goody-two-shoes, golden hero like Spider-Man. With Spider-Man & Venom in the loop, Sony can actually think of making use of upcoming movie characters like Morbius and others, and incorporate them well within what could be a whole new Spider-Man/Venom universe.
