Few things are as precious as the relationship between a father and a child. From disciplining us to be astute members of society, to spoiling us rotten with their love, a father’s CV is multi-faceted. Zakir Khan’s ‘Papa Yaar’ is an eloquent ode to that often misunderstood loved one in our life.

    1. “Life me aapko itni saari jagahon pe itne saalon se itna zyada disappoint kiya hai… Ki aapko mai koi salah doon aisi haisiyat hi nahi hai meri”Poignant and raw, Zakir’s words take us back to the fractious dynamic of many father-son relationships.  As we grow up, and become more individualistic we realise that the intimacy and connect that we shared with them fades. Though that doesn’t have to be the case for everyone, with the maturity and richness of experience we now possess it is possible to empathise and understand the situations our Fathers had to go through in order to keep us safe.

    2. “Ab jaise jaise bada hota jaa raha hoon toh samajh me aata hai office politics kya hoti hai, Samajh me aa raha hai ki paisa kamana kitna mushkil hota hai”The constant disappointments and stresses faced by an individual in society alters their nature in the long term.  It left our fathers as people disconnected from emotions and us hesitant to approach them for the simplest conversations.

    via GIPHY
    3. “Ab lag raha hai aapki voh thaki hui shakal ka asli matlab kya tha”As kids, we’re unable to grasp the impact of social influences on the quality of one’s life. What we saw as a wish not being fulfilled or our father’s inability to dote on us was often a sign of an individual trying to be their best despite the stresses they were experiencing. Back then no matter how hard our Fathers tried to make us understand the reasons behind their actions, we wouldn’t get it.  It’s only after growing up and having gone through these same issues that we can even begin to understand the difficulties faced by our fathers in their pursuit to provide a nurturing environment for their children.

    via GIPHY
    4. “Ek Shikayat hai Papa, batate hi nahi ho kuch aap” It’s heart-breaking how most father figures end up being viewed as uni-dimensional individuals by their children and society at large. Back in their time, vulnerability was seen as weakness. It’s only recently where sharing ones emotions have gained mainstream acceptance, so let’s not forget that they’re also the shaped by their experiences from an imperfect time. They would move heaven and earth just to ensure that their children wouldn’t have to witness it. It’s time for us to check-in on them.

    5. “Dosti karlo yaar Papa… Please?”Zakir invites you to look at your father from a different lens; as a human being full of experiences, wonder and dreams. Sincere and pure, his words remind us of the fact that within our fathers there’s an entire personality waiting to be explored. So Interact, connect and cherish those stories. Hope this video inspires you to take a closer step to a beautiful friendship!

I don’t even need to tell you why we have a list of recommendations based on this theme, because chances are that you probably have binge-watched Family Man 2 and the scene where Srikant vents out his angst and frustration on his not-so-cool manager has made you echo ‘same’ or take a sigh of some secret cathartic relief.

Anyway, not all employee-boss relationships are sour and here are some movies and series we recommend you to check out in case you have been missing your boss too much during this lockdown:
    1. The Office Well if you have a manager like Michael Scott, then I truly hope that your personality type is similar to Dwight Schrute or Jim.
A manager unlike anyone we know, this series mocks the hell out of a quintessential office space and paints how your manager, who feels he is always right and has your best interest at heart, is actually painstakingly wrong most of the time.
The Office continues to be one of the best series out there because of how 'real' it is.

    2. Horrible BossesThe title is kind of self-suggestive but if you need more context, then, it is a movie about three employees who plan on killing their evil bosses.
In a comedy of errors, havoc ensues and chaos follows.

    3. The InternThis is a heart warming movie which shows the evolution of a wonderful relationship that a boss shares with her intern, who is infact a 70-year-old man.
This one teaches you an important lesson about life that the employer doesn’t always know more about than the employee.

    4. Yes Boss  A movie which conceptualises what loyalty means in the form of an employee named Rahul ( SRK) who whitewashes every lie and takes bootlicking to another level to keep his boss (Aditya Pancholi) happy and satisfied with his work, in order to climb the corporate ladder easily.

    5. Jassi Jaisi Koi NahinBased on a series named Ugly Betty, this one was a big hit back in the early 2000’s when it was released.
This series not only preached loyalty between an employee and her boss but proved that sometimes, you can also find love in your own ‘sir’!
Jokes apart, this show sent a message that how one should not hire people based on their looks but calibre instead.

After almost two months of explosive surge in cases, the second wave of coronavirus in India is finally plummeting. Owing to this, many states are mulling lifting lockdown restriction curbs while some have already started implementing the unlock process with some relaxation.

As the government starts the unlock process, people have mixed feelings about it. Panic, confusion, relief and uncertainty regarding the decision is apparent on Twitter, but the netizens are channeling their emotions through hilarious memes.

Unlock memes have flooded Twitter feeds and people seem to be both happy and nervous about restrictions lifting. While they are concerned about the third wave and recklessness of people once the unlock starts, some are excited to venture out after months.

Whatever they feel about the unlock process, their memes say it all and they are hilarious to say the least. Take a look at some of the funniest memes on Twitter about Unlock 2.

It may take some time for India to conquer coronavirus completely and be mask-free. However, whether there is a partial or complete lockdown in the state you are living in, make sure you follow the safety precautions and get vaccinated as soon as possible so we can all fight better and there is no lockdown in the future.

Besides Sidharth Malhotra's impeccable acting skills and boy-next-door image, another thing that strikes us about him is his sense of style. He is pretty laid-back when it comes to styling his outfits, and it's such that even commoners can take inspiration from. Sidharth has proved that he is a style maven for his fans, right from wearing oversized hoodies to stepping out in relaxed joggers.

Recently, the actor was seen casually strolling on the streets of Mumbai, wearing one of the quirkiest pairs of sneakers we have seen in a while. He was decked in simple, athleisure silhouettes from top to bottom, but the shoes no doubt looked zany and appealing.

    © Hypebeast
    © Hypebeast
He is wearing Vivienne Westwood and ASICS, all-black GEL-Kayano 26. These sneakers come in stark mesh netting. The pair is constructed with a black net rising above the upper and is secured by a throat toggle. This replaces the lacing system for the pair. The logo is stamped on the tongue in silver with Westwood's signature orb-and-cross graphic placed on the heel. The midsole has a modern-day appeal. The build further combines FlyteFoam with Gel cushioning soft, supportive feel. The rubber outsole rounds off the look.
Considering the price tag of shoes we have seen of late, these sneakers aren't that expensive. They retail for Rs 16,603, which seems to be a decent deal.
As for his outfit, we like the normcore aesthetics here. The black joggers paired with a full-sleeved slogan T-shirt added to the casual vibes. That, with basic accessories like a baseball cap, makes a nice pairing. We like how functional and stylish the ensemble looks. If you ask us, this seems to be a perfect way to dress up amid the pandemic, as it doesn't draw extra attention.
Even though Sidharth's sartorial style is understated, he clearly knows how to make it easy for us to copy his style statement. That's super dope now!

Well, we, as in the human civilization as a whole, have seen quite a lot during the last two years.

    © Istock
I mean, count the Australian bushfires, the Kobe Bryant helicopter crash, what's going on with Israel-Palestine, and our very favorite and ever-present Covid-19 pandemic, most of it has been pretty traumatic, to be honest.

Now, brace yourselves for what could be in the latest episode of the real-life hit series called, "We will not let you live in peace"- an Alien invasion.

Yes, according to reports, NASA is finally, I mean Finally, looking into what UFOs are about.
I mean, dude, what HAVE you been doing for so long?
Well, according to the space agency’s chief administrator Bill Nelson, NASA has begun investigating the sighting of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) that were seen by US Navy pilots back in 2018.
NASA orders researchers to study UFOs as Pentagon prepares to unveil report that WON'T rule out mystery craft spotted by military https://t.co/cTfslgMH0r
    — Daily Mail US (@DailyMail) June 5, 2021
The US Department of Defense had released video footage three years ago that showed the Navy pilots attempting to track a rapidly speeding object across the water.

According to their accounts as well as the video, the strange object flew without having wings or a tail, which are usually always there on a normal flying object.
“I have talked to those Navy pilots, and they are sure that they saw something real. And of course, we’ve seen their video from their jets. What is it? We don’t know” said Nelson, while talking to CNN.
"The bottom line is we want to know." NASA Administrator Bill Nelson tells CNN's @RachCrane that he has begun an investigation into recent UFO sightings. https://t.co/3Hpo314Pyf pic.twitter.com/Gpa0sGxI69
    — CNN (@CNN) June 4, 2021
The NASA Chief Administrator has instructed his scientists to look into it as he feels that it clearly doesn't look like an optical phenomenon.
“So now that I’m here at Nasa, I’ve turned to our scientists and I’ve said: ‘Would you, looking at it from a scientific standpoint, see if you can determine so that we can have a better idea?’
“We don’t know if it’s extra-terrestrial, we don’t know if it’s an enemy, we don’t know if it’s an optical phenomenon. We don’t think so, because of the characteristics that those Navy jet pilots described as they saw it move around”,
“The bottom line is we want to know, and that’s what we’re trying to do,” said Nelson.
Following the news of the start of the investigation, people across social media have just one question. "What took you so long?"
From Sicily to California, take a look through 140 years of UFO sightings here https://t.co/MMcdlh2Aa3 pic.twitter.com/19GB8imy63
    — The Telegraph (@Telegraph) June 4, 2021
And surely so, there have scores of UFO sightings across the world for as long as people can remember. Well, here is what people had to say about the new developments.
No brainer. Funny how we who continue deluding ourselves that we are the only sentient beings in this infinite universe continue calling others aliens when we are the only ones alienated from common sense and humility.
    — Dave⭐️⭐️Turkson (@DaveTurkson) June 6, 2021Question....
Why is this coming to the forefront now ?
UFO sightings have been happening for years.

    Personal paranoia ?
    Missing something ?

    — J. (@cryptogangsta89) June 6, 2021How long will you hide the truth?
    — Jay Skel (@jaxmain80) June 6, 2021What? You "want to know" what you already know? Nice try, buddy.
    — André Dalpé (@ardalpe) June 6, 2021I really hope there is intelligent life out there. Maybe it will offset the stupidity this one seems to ooze.
    — Joseph Sorrendino (@JosephSorrendi1) June 6, 2021Hey Bill,

    Get Fauci on it.

He's looking for a gig and he'll deliver any answer you want.
    — Mark Ayres (@chikaching) June 6, 2021If any country had this technology, they would've used it to dominate the world.
These UFOs are from a different higher intelligence that have been making its presence before mankind. This planet and all species (including us) are the results of higher diverse sciences.

In Indian weddings, the baraatis and the groom are welcomed and treated royally with much fervour and pomp. Their every wish is fulfilled instantly and they are well-taken care of through the entire ceremony, and even after that. Some people take undue advantage of the bride’s family’s hospitality and make bizarre and insulting demands.

    © iStock
In UP’s Pratapgarh, something similar happened when a groom and his friends showed up to the wedding drunk and made an inappropriate request to the bride. They reportedly forced her to dance on stage before the wedding rituals could begin and also misbehaved with the family.

    © iStock
The 22-year-old bride deemed it highly disrespectful and refused to give in to the demand. Not only this, she walked out of the wedding, calling it off.

She was offended by the groom arriving drunk and asking her to dance in front of the guests and his drunk friends. The groom apparently also created a nuisance when she refused to dance.
    © Prime Video
The bride’s family asked the baraatis to return the money and gifts they owed them for the wedding as soon as the bride walked out. Upon their refusal, they called the cops and held them captive until the police came and resolved the issue. At last, after all the drama, the groom’s family agreed to return the money and were released.

    © iStock
Talking about the incident, Mandhata station house officer Shrawan Kumar Singh told TOI, “A farmer from Tikri village had arranged his daughter’s marriage with a Ravendra Patel of Kutiliya Ahina village during the corona curfew. He had made necessary arrangements for the ceremony, but the groom and ‘baraatis’ arrived drunk.”

    © iStock
“Initially, the bride’s family ignored their overtures, but the situation turned ugly when the groom pressed the bride to dance before the jaimala ceremony. When the bride refused, the groom created a ruckus. Irked by his behaviour, the bride walked out and her family members held the baraatis captive,” he added.

    © Prime Video
This young bride was incredibly brave and made a strong statement about her having self-respect. She is clearly not a woman who would dance on someone else’s tunes.

    © Prime Video
We are glad her family supported her and got the money invested in the wedding back.

The first reviews of Marvel’s latest show, Lok is out, and film critics are just loving it. So much so, that saying they’re going all orgasmic over it wouldn’t be farfetched.

    © Marvel
That invariably means that fellow fans of all things Marvel will also find the show completely worth the hype.

Before this, the only other show that had audiences going with such a buzz was WandaVision, and if some critics are to be believed, Loki easily trumps the aforementioned mini-series.
    © Marvel
Tom Hiddlestone had been given a rather raw deal if you ask us, with his character Loki being killed off in Avengers: Infinity War, and him having a very small portion in Avengers: Endgame. Marvel has more than made up for that, it seems, by giving the British Actor a mini-series of his own.

    © Marvel
As per the early reviews, what sets the tone for the mini-series, is the camaraderie between Hiddlestone’s Loki & Owen Wilson’s Mobius M Mobius.

    © Marvel
Plus, the fact that the plot of the series revolves around time-hopping, you can expect some pretty incredulous and hilarious stuff happening throughout the mini-series. One can reasonably expect that Marvel fans will be right at the edge of their seats for all 6 episodes.

    © Marvel
People who had seen the trailer would remember that Loki & Mobius, inspite of being in the same team, are trying to outwit each other. Plus, the action sequences looked spectacular in it.

Here’s what people with early access to the show, and who have already seen the first two episodes, have to say about the new mini-series:
First two episodes of #Loki down and it has dethroned Wandavision as my fav Marvel show. Was NOT prepared to have feelings for Tom Hiddleston but here I am blushing every time he comes onscreen. Love a man who can make me laugh. Also, Owen and Tom's dynamic is be-yond! pic.twitter.com/QAAzsatWQa
    — Shilpa Rathnam (@shilparathnam) June 6, 2021The real gem of #Loki is the chemistry between Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson. Lots of exposition in their dialogue, but it’s a thrill to watch them go wit for wit trying to solve a wickedly weird case. A strange bromance that deserves MULTIPLE seasons, not just one. pic.twitter.com/WdVueZL8kS
    — Brandon Pope TV (@BpopeTV) June 6, 2021... and them on screen together is something we should hope lasts for several seasons.

Marvel's time-travel rules & explanations are still mega questionable and there's a layer of mystery which I hope leads to something bigger and more detailed since the TVA is so weird. (2/2) pic.twitter.com/PHcDLdHzBk
    — Rob Keyes (@rob_keyes) June 6, 2021I'll add that the way Owen Wilson's Mobius deals with Loki is hilarious. The show is heavy on dialogue and intimate scenery and that works so well for this. It's like X-Files for those two.
    — Rob Keyes (@rob_keyes) June 6, 2021I've seen the first 2 episodes of #Loki & I'm LOVING it so far. It's a time-traveling detective show that's laying groundwork for the MCU multiverse while also being about identity & confronting ugly truths about ourselves. The Tom Hiddleston/Owen Wilson bromance is my favorite pic.twitter.com/w9yLLHGEHJ
    — Erik Davis (@ErikDavis) June 6, 2021One thing’s for certain. Owen Wilson has managed to really stand out and hold his own.
Fans in India will get to see Loki’s first episode on Disney+Hotstar, on the 9th of June, along with the rest of the world. Now that’s a date that Marvel fans are waiting for, eagerly.
