Whether you believe in the concepts of ghosts, spirits, or anything related to the supernatural, we all know hearing about ghost stories late at night at parties, camping trips, or just amongst a bunch of friends, can be a truly exhilarating experience.

Now while it surely is fun to hear about horror stories or watch them on the tv screens as you are not a part of them, have you ever really thought about how things would be if you were actually a part of them?

Well, if you ever figured you'd want to encounter an experience like that, let me tell you about a few places in Delhi NCR, where your nightmares can actually turn to reality.

So, without further ado, let's talk about the five most haunted places in Delhi NCR that you can visit... but probably shouldn't:
    1. Sanjay Van © Great Runs
There is a mini-paranthe wali gully near the Qutub Institutional Area in South Delhi, where many people go for munching on some delicious chicken and aloo paranthas after having a morning game of football.

Now, while the rows of parantha wala shops rest opposite the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade business school, just behind the shops, there is a wide stretch of wilderness, known as the Sanjay Van.
Spread over a massive area of around 443 acres near the Vasant Kunj and Mehrauli region in New Delhi, Sanjay Van is a very popular city forest area, where people go for walks, cycling, and bird watching in the morning.
However, as night falls, Sanjay Van with its long stretches of trees, bushes are known to become hostile surroundings to mankind, due to its status of being one of the most haunted locations in New Delhi.
People residing in the region say that the forested area is home to different spirits with the place having a history of unreported murders and other crimes.
It is said that a few who have managed to go inside after dark have come back hearing cries of children, complained of feeling someone's presence around them, and even spotted a female figure walking nearby before vanishing from sight.
It is clear that the place while being a welcome spot for residents during the day is the last place you want to be in the city after dark.
    2. Delhi Cantt © Ease My Trip
The Delhi Cantonment is a region that has a huge stretch of greenery inside it. If you have a family member or a friend who has an Indian Army background, you would be able to see beautifully kept long roads that are mostly vacant at night.

While the region is one of the most peaceful areas in Delhi, the fact is that it is also considered to be one of the most haunted.
Now, while I myself have travelled on these very roads along with some friends to check out for something that falls under the bracket of supernatural, unfortunately, or fortunately, we failed to come across anything in our sight of vision.
However, as per many other accounts, there has been a tale of a lady in white clothes, who is seen to look for a lift when people are usually travelling in a vehicle.
The strange thing is, however, that if you manage to pass her by without granting her wish, she starts running along with your vehicle, with many claiming to see her run even faster than the car or bike.
Well, I don't know about you, but after hearing this, it certainly feels that while one may get a kick out of looking for something extraordinary, it's better to leave out these parts of the roads for long car rides.
    3. Delhi Ridge Area © Sunday Guardian
If you have studied at Delhi University, you'd be very familiar with North Campus, which houses a lot of the renowned colleges of the city.

Well, there is a sort of forested area right next to it known as the Delhi Ridge, where people often go for a quick walk between lectures or just to spend some time with one's girlfriend or boyfriend (Yeah, we know what you're thinking).
Now, it is a common hangout place for students, many also commonly refer to the place which is haunted by the ghost of a British man belonging to the colonial era.
People have claimed that at times they've felt that the forest area suddenly becomes so quiet that not even a bird can be heard chirping. Apart from that, they've also had the feeling of being watched and when trying to call someone, see their mobile network go haywire.
Well, I think we don't need any more signs to agree that this is one of the creepiest places in the city.
    4. Lothian Cemetery © Amy's Crypt
For starters, the name says it all. We can never connect with people just hanging out at cemeteries. Not with people in the movies, and definitely not with people in real life either.

Well, now that you have a piece of my mind, I can tell you about the Lothian Cemetary, which is one of the oldest Christian cemeteries of Delhi.
While all cemeteries are places where you'd normally hear about tales of ghosts and spirits, this particular cemetery is infamous for ghost spottings on a frequent basis.
People have claimed to have heard laughter and cries of many coming from the spot, with many also sharing a common account of seeing a ghost with a disjointed head in his hands.
To cut things short, if you were ever scared at the thought of visiting a cemetery at night, think about visiting probably the most haunted cemetery in New Delhi.
    5. Saffron, Bpo © iStock
Okay, all jokes apart. This is probably one of the creepiest things I have come across, and I mean it.

As things go, a few years ago, there was an incident about a BPO in Gurgaon known as the Saffron BPO, that had hired an employee named Rose.
Apparently, Rose, through her extremely good nature and diligence at work soon became everyone's favourite and often won the Employee of the Month awards at the BPO.
Everything was going great. People looked up to Rose and everyone seemed to like her a lot too, UNTIL, one day it was found that Rose had gone missing.
Authorities at Saffron went looking for her and when they contacted her landlord, it was found that Rose had never existed. It was later when people got to know from her family that Rose had been dead for the past eight years.
Yeah, it is super creepy to hear about this and it sure must have shaken the people who worked with her.
Anyway, if you are looking to join a BPO in the future, you sure can send in your CV to this Saffron BPO.

This is a good time for putting your money to OTT streaming services it seems. After The Family Man 2 and Maharani, another gripping narrative is all set to be released to fill the void you must be feeling after finishing these two shows.
Netflix’s Ray starring Kay Kay Menon, Manoj Bajpayee Ali Fazal and Harshvarrdhan Kapoor will finally be premiering on June 25 after a long wait since the teaser released in May.
    © Netflix India
The first trailer for the anthology film released today and it looks like a promising tale of four men from different walks of life. It is a story about revenge, success, betrayal and consequences thereof and here are a few things that this Netflix Original has already got us excited.

    2. A band of finest filmmakers A veteran storyteller’s work has been taken up by three brilliant directors Vasan Bala, Abhishek Chaubey and Srijit Mukherji, the latter directing two installments of the series. These filmmakers are known for their astute details and fine direction. The stakes are high but it seems like they will do complete justice to Ray’s classic stories.

Some of the major websites, news outlets and e-commerce platforms were facing outages earlier today, including Amazon, Reddit, Twitch, BBC, The Guardian amongst many others.
Music streaming platforms such as Spotify were also impacted by these outages.
    © Guardian
The problem appeared to be related to Fastly, a company that provides services and infrastructure that underpins some of the most integral parts of the internet.

The issue might be specially related to a Content Delivery Network or CDN. These CDNs hosts a copy of websites around the world so that people can visit web pages as quickly as possible.
    © jeshoots-com-unsplash
Due to this problem, many visits saw several websites with the error message including “Error 503 Service Unavailable” and a terse “connection failure.”

Some of the most important media websites like BBC and CNN also showed the same error message when visiting their web pages.
Fastly has now identified and fixed that problem but says that customers may experience increased origin load as global services run.
While services are returning to normal, the internet couldn’t keep calm and took to Twitter to post memes about not being able to visit their favourite websites. Here were some of the best ones:

The new promo for Marvel’s Loki that was dropped on Twitter this week will have the original fans of Marvel, the ones who’ve been following them since the comics, rejoice with glee. Loki is finally being revealed as a gender-fluid person in the cinematic universe.

    © Marvel Studios
People who’ve read the Thor comics and some of Marvel’s previous comics will know that Loki actually gave birth to one of Odin’s horses. In a comic book from 2014, Odin referred to his Loki as "my son and my daughter, and my child who is both."

The Marvel cinematic universe has often been accused of having very few LGBTQI+ characters, in spite of the fact that the original comic books are chock-full of them.

People who consider themselves to be fans of all things Marvel, and are constantly looking for Easter eggs and hidden meanings in promos and trailers, spotted that in the most recent promos for the show, we get a brief glimpse into some of Loki’s personal details

These details include things like his complete name, place of birth, his age, his hair and eye colour, his weight, which is about 525 pounds and of course, his gender.

Loki was first revealed to be Gender fluid, back in 2014. That is why hardcore fans will always tell you that if you’re seriously into superheroes, comics are the things to invest your time in.

Meanwhile, fans couldn’t help but show their excitement over the show, which releases globally on the 9th of June.

    — Cloudy️ (@Cloudylnside) June 7, 2021You... you do realize even Norse Mythology Loki is gender fluid right? When the god Loki is based off of is Gender Fluid, why the fk introduce a new character instead of just make them Gender Fluid
    — Paulownzu (@PaulOwnzU) June 7, 2021Again, start reading the comics...
Everyone's talking about "Gender: fluid" but nobody is mentioning "Weight: 525"

To anyone who thinks this is pandering, KEEP READING THIS TWEET.
For anybody thinking Loki's gender is pandering, I would agree on most other occasions, but just read the norse myths and it makes total sense. Loki literally gave birth as a female horse, talk about being fluid.

And the fact that this is happening during the Pride Month? Well that's just a cherry on top, isn't it?

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart may be the first exclusive title that delivers everything Sony promised for the PlayStation 5 last year. The action-platformer and third-person shooter is currently the most charming and technically impressive launch title for the PlayStation 5 during the first year of its lifecycle. Developed by Insomniac Games, Rift Apart, in my opinion, is a love letter to the fans of the franchise and a great introduction to the world for newcomers.
    © SIE_Insomniac Games
The game does a great job of introducing the main characters, the chemistry between them, and new gameplay mechanics as soon as you start the game. Rift Apart starts off with a parade celebration that introduces all of the basic mechanics and starter weapons you will be using throughout the game. It is also the first time you get to experience some of the awesome DualSense features that directly ties in with the gameplay. It’s probably the only game apart from ‘Astro’s Playroom’ that utilises the new controller to its full potential. From different variations in the haptic feedback to the clever implementation of the adaptive triggers, you truly feel the experience of next-generation gaming.

    © SIE_Insomniac Games
As the parade goes on, it quickly gets interrupted by ‘Dr. Nefarious’ and steals the ‘Dimensionator’ from the charming duo. While trying to recover the Dimensionator from Dr Nefarious, Ratchet and Clank accidentally destroy the dimension-shifting artefact causing the two best friends to separate in an alternate dimension. At this point, the focus shifts to a new female Lombax character called ‘Rivet’ who stumbles on Clank and teams up with the robot to find Ratchet.

A RIVETing StoryRatchet & Clank: Rift Apart’s narrative is presented very much like an animated movie that's also reflective in the gameplay as well. The main plot stays true to the science-fiction flippant theme of previous games but this time around it’s a bit more personal. It’s like Insomniac took a page from Naughty Dog’s storytelling formula and tweaked it with a comedic spin. The story puts Ratchet and Clank’s relationship to test and introduces interesting dynamics between new and old characters. The chemistry that Rivet and Clank develop during the course of the story doesn’t somehow feel forced.
    © SIE_Insomniac Games
In the interest of not spoiling the plot, the rest of the story follows Insomniac’s tried and tested formula of using tongue-in-cheek humour and the playful tone throughout the game. However this time almost every character seems more expressive and the nuanced jokes hit home more than ever. Even though the story lasts somewhere around 12-15 hours, it was entertaining like a Disney movie from start to end.

    © SIE_Insomniac Games
The playful vibe even translates well in gameplay as you use an expansive arsenal of weaponry against enemies. The reactions from enemies when getting hit by some of these weapons are hilarious and some sound effects feel straight out of a Looney Tunes cartoon show. Often, games set a tone in cutscenes but don’t really incorporate the same vibe in gameplay. However, in the case of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, the tone remains consistent.

Free Flowing Gameplay Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart’s gamely is the most exhilarating experience I’ve had in years. Right from the beginning, the fast-paced nature of the game is apparent and it’s what makes the whole experience addicting. As Ratchet or Rivet; you get to traverse the world using a new mechanic called ‘tethering rifts’. It works exactly how you may have seen it in trailers and previews where you can keep rotating an arena by moving to a different section of a level instantaneously. These rifts are placed all over each level and you can teleport through these rifts whenever you are close. These rifts add a new layer to the gameplay and I used it mostly to get out of sticky situations or whenever I was low on health/ammo.
    © SIE_Insomniac Games
Previous Ratchet and Clank games were very limited when it came to the movement, however, Rift Apart feels far more free-flowing than ever and also requires players to think more tactically in combat. You no longer just "strafe and shoot" anymore as movement is now more versatile and unconstrained.

Since ammo isn’t abundant, the game forces players to switch to different types of guns to overcome different types of enemies. This way, you get to try out all of the new weapons and develop a playstyle that lets you adapt at any time.
    © SIE_Insomniac Games
Speaking of guns, the arsenal of weapons you amass during the course of the game are plentiful and often used in most gunfights. It also happens to be the department where Insomniac games have shown the most creativity. Each weapon is different from the other where my favourites were The Executor, Ricochet and the Topiary Sprinkler.

The Executor works similar to a two-barrel shotgun however that’s not where the creativity ends. You can either press the R2 trigger halfway to shoot a single shotgun shell or all the way down to fire both barrels at once. You also feel resistance in the triggers on the DualSense making this particular utilisation the most fascinating feature to use. I would tend to use single-barrel shots in the beginning as it would be more accurate however towards the end of the game I just went with the flow.
    © SIE_Insomniac Games
Similarly, the Ricochet Gun is super fun to use where you shoot a pinball that would ricochet off enemies each time you would tap the R2 button. With each tap, the pinball would make lighting and sound effects akin to a pinball machine. The Topiary Sprinkler would sprinkle water on enemies and turn them into topiary that can be blown up. Staple favourites such as the 'Glove of Doom' and 'Buzz Blades' also make a return. There are plenty of other creative weapons to purchase from Ms Zurkon and each weapon can also be upgraded by her as you progress through the story.

Having said that, I do have some criticism in the gameplay department when it comes to Ratchet and Rivet. Surprisingly, there isn’t much difference in the way both characters play and I can understand the reason why Insomniac Games opted for that. However, it wouldn’t hurt to have slight variations between the two in both the way they play and the kind of weapons they use.
Level DesignRatchet and Clank: Rift Apart also features stable platforming levels that are made up of arenas of all sizes. However, this time around you also get to check out a semi-open world at some locations, somewhat similar to Naughty Dog games. Since these spaces are larger in size, Ratchet/Rivet now have these special hover boots that you can use to quickly move around. These boots work similarly to skating boots where you need to hold the R1 button and repeatedly tap the L2 button to build up momentum. Of course, the haptic feedback also feels incredible when skating around which surprisingly made it one of my favourite things to do in the game.
    © SIE_Insomniac Games
Apart from the platforming levels, you can also solve puzzles playing as Clank in the metaverse. These puzzles aren’t particularly difficult but quite creative as you need to use a series of balls to progress. These balls include heavy, lift, speed and electricity attributes that can be used to direct Clank clones from different dimensions to open the metaverse gates. Some of my favourite levels in the entire game were these imaginative puzzles that did not feel like an unwarranted side activity.

Next-Gen PerformanceWhen it comes to performance, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart runs supremely well on the PlayStation 5. While for most of my review playthrough the performance mode was not available to test out, I did get to dabble a bit with it recently. Insomniac Games issued a patch that enabled the feature which let me run the game in 60FPS with ray tracing enabled. The game ran mostly at 60FPS and looked absolutely stunning with some of the ray-traced lighting effects. In my entire playthrough, I rarely noticed any frame-rate drops and did not face any crashes or bugs.
The PlayStation 5 boasts a super-fast SSD which Rift Apart takes full advantage of. Throughout the game, I didn’t see a single loading screen even though Insomniac cleverly hides them behind the mission select menu, brief cutscenes and a few elevator sequences. However, there is one particular level where Rivet can change to a different dimension by hitting crystals. The near-instant transition to this alternative dimension shows how the game takes advantage of the SSD. The entire process including the animation takes less than a second which isn’t technically possible on last-generation’s HDD hardware.
    © SIE_Insomniac Games
It is also worthy to point out that Insomniac Games have included an expansive list of accessibility options for a wide variety of players. You can adjust Fire Modes, Aim Modes, Screen Shake, Motion Blur, Depth of Field and other customisation options to suit your needs. Other options include a ‘Hazard Shader’ that highlights explosives and other hazardous objects with a solid single colour. There’s also a similar feature for highlighting collectables scattered around in levels.

    © SIE_Insomniac Games
Lastly, the game looks absolutely stunning with colourful vistas and lighting effects that sometimes make you stop doing what you’re doing and start taking screenshots. Even during the most chaotic gunfights, the different lighting effects that you see are unlike anything you have experienced before.

The Final Verdict Everything about Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart exudes the next-generation goodness we’ve all been waiting for. From a riveting story to fun gameplay to superb performance, Rift Apart is the ultimate exclusive game to get for your PlayStation 5.
Having said that, the game costs Rs 4,999 in India which is a bit steep considering the main story lasts anywhere between 12-15 hours. Regardless of the cost, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is still worth experiencing at least once on Sony’s fancy new hardware.

Local trains, vada pav and cinema are the essence of Mumbai which you don’t find in any city or town in the country. And, apart from these, there is one more element of the city that’s truly unforgettable. We are talking about the Mumbai rains.

Monsoon in Bombay hits you differently and is special for every Mumbaikar no matter what age or profession they belong to. The city experiences heavy rains and although it causes hindrance to daily life and inconvenience to the public, they find joy in schools and offices getting shut and a chance of having steaming hot kothimbir vadi at home.

The first rains of the season have already made an appearance and since barely anyone is actually venturing outside to enjoy the downpours, here is what you can do while in quarantine. Put on some good ol’ Bollywood movie set in the backdrop of Mumbai which includes iconic rain scenes, songs and plot revolving around the monsoon to get the feels.

Here we have a list of 5 Bollywood movies that capture the true essence of Bombay ki barish.

ChameliThis underrated Bollywood movie starring Kareena Kapoor and Rahul Bose revolves around two characters poles apart from each other who are brought together by Mumbai rains. An investment banker and a street-smart prostitute bond and indulge in deep conversation about life in a night of a heavy downpour.

Life In A MetroThe whole plot is about the city that never sleeps and its people hassling through locals and BEST buses. Obviously then, rain which is a huge part of Mumbai is shown in its true spirit. While people meet and fall in love amid the rains, it also shows the chaos it creates.

Wake Up SidA feel-good movie about a new girl in the city and a college graduate trying to follow his passion and make it on his own who meet and share a small home in Bombay, ‘cause property rates are higher than the buildings. After a lot of walks, dreams and fights, they are reunited by the pehli barish of the season at Marine Drive.

Dil Toh Pagal HaiWe all grooved to 'Chak Dhoom Dhoom' song as kids whenever it rained and started to believe the whole 'soulmate theory' and how it rains when you meet "the one" while watching this cult movie. Whether or not it rained cats and dogs when you found your soulmate, you could still watch it with them this monsoon.

Aashiqui 2The rain in the movie is basically a third cast member in this movie alongside Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor (our OG rain-obsessed girl). The song shot in the rain smashed at the charts and rain had a very big role to play to make this scene and the song uber romantic and dreamy.

Whether you are enjoying the Mumbai rains from home or missing them sitting in your hometown, this watchlist could save you from the blues and give you full ‘Bombay rains’ vibes. Get binging!

Father! What's the first thing that comes rushing to your mind when you hear this word? For some, it is their first bike ride, for some it could be the first bicycle and for few it could be even 'papa ki daant' if anything goes wrong! Whatever it might be, the fact remains that fathers are special. In a world where fatherhood has become an increasingly important and sensitive moment in most men’s lives, let’s see what some of our favourite celebrities have to say about their relationship with their fathers:
    1. Farhan Akhtar View this post on Instagram
“When you really love and respect a human being then it is very difficult to point out one best memory. I feel fortunate that he is my father. I have learned a lot from him about life, work, relationships, culture, etiquettes and languages. I will keep learning from him, so I couldn’t have asked for a better person to be my father.”
    2. Aparshakti Khurana View this post on Instagram
“My father means everything to me and especially all my work ethics come from him. All the discipline which Ayushmann and I are trying to follow at work comes from him. He is a workaholic. We have never seen him taking off from work. I think that is what keeps us going as well. I think he is busier than me (laughs) and I think that is what brings out the best in us.”
    3. Ali Fazal  View this post on Instagram
“My father always had a habit of making sure everyone got cards even if it wasn't a festival or an occasion that called for it. I learned the art of writing post cards and letters from him. I've barely spent time with my father in the years ive lived. So i cherish the few where he tried his best to teach me things - the short versions compressed in school holidays when I'd visit him. I'll never forget the effect that a personalized card has. You can’t achieve that with emails and fonts on the web.”
    4. Shahid Kapoor  View this post on Instagram
“Initially, he was strict, but that was 15 years ago. He is a strong-minded person, which I admire a lot. Over the years, we have come to understand one another a lot more. Emotionally, we have become very close and when you become emotionally intimate with someone, you can’t be scared of them. The fear is of only hurting them.”
    5. Arjun KapoorTo the coolest Kapoor in our family. The original big daddy. I love movies because I saw them thru his eyes... While he has always let me make my own decisions, he has also given me constructive feedback and suggestions. My dad is someone who always motivates me to become a better person in life. Here is wishing him a very happy Father's Day".

Got diagnosed with early stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago, but he is in full spirits today as he proceeds to battle it. As a family we are fortunate and blessed to have a leader like him. .Love you Dad.”

There are thousands of people who aspire to make it big in Bollywood, however, sadly, not everyone gets to live their dream.
If you are a believer in luck, there are some actors who didn't plan to get into Bollywood but were rather discovered by chance that later helped them showcase their talents in movies.
Here's a list of 6 celebrities who were accidentally discovered at parties and coffee shops and then got into Bollywood:
    1. Bipasha Basu © Instagram/Bipasha Basu
In 1996, Arjun Rampal's former wife Mehr Jesia met Bipasha Basu at a hotel in Kolkata. After this brief meeting, Mehr suggested Bipasha try her hands on modelling.

She gladly agreed to it, and that's how Bipasha was discovered.
Bipasha then tried for movies and even took home her first best debut award for Ajnabee.

Siddhant Chaturvedi made us swoon over his character as MC Sher in Gully Boy. While his performance was highly appreciated, most of us didn't know that he was discovered by luck.

As per reports, filmmaker Zoya Akhtar saw Siddant at a success party. She asked him if he would like to audition for a role in Gully Boy, and we know the rest of the story!

For the unversed, Parineeti Chopra's academic background has been super impressive. She holds a triple honours degree in Business, Finance and Economics.

It was director Maneesh Sharma who discovered her while she was working in PR at Yash Raj Films. That's how she landed her debut role in Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl.
The movie was well-received by the audience, and then there was no stopping her after that. She also won the best debut award for the film.

At some point, most of us have crushed hard on Arjun Rampal. But, even his original plan wasn't acting.

Ace designer Rohit Bahl noticed Arjun at a party and asked him to go for modelling as he had sharp features.
He then ventured into Bollywood and later, also won the Filmfare award for best supporting actor for Rock-On.

The Khiladi of Bollywood had no plans of getting into acting.

After his arrival to India from Bangkok, Akshay Kumar started teaching martial arts. He was discovered by a photographer, who asked Akshay to try modelling.
Apparently, the actor missed his flight for his first-ever modelling assignment. He started submitting his portfolios at various studios, and that's how he received his first movie.

Touted as one of the most talented actors of Bollywood, Madhuri Dixit also became a part of the industry by chance.

As per reports, at the mere age of fifteen, she was approached by a film producer who was stunned by Madhuri's dancing skills. But, her parents opposed the idea and were against acting.
She again came into notice by her sister's friend, and that's how her debut was made.
