    India's historic Test series triumph over Australia earlier this year arguably went down in history as country's all-time greatest wins in the longest format. Despite it being one of the greatest examples of a team's courage and resillience, many questioned if it actually deserved such high accolades at the time and nobody had any answers. However, after the ICC's recent announcement, Indian fans have much to rejoice. The world cricket's governing body, after an extensive fan-based voting, has declared India's 2-1 triumph Down Under as the 'Ultimate Test Series'.
    Ahead of the World Test Championship final between India and New Zealand, the ICC handpicked 16 of the most iconic Test series of all-time and asked fans to vote for the Ultimate Test series. In contention were some of the greatest Test encounters of all-time, including the 2005 Ashes series, 2001 India vs Australia Test series and India vs Pakistan Test series of 1999.
    Ahead of the #WTC21 final, we set out to determine #TheUltimateTestSeries.

    After 15 head-to-heads and seven million votes, India's recent heroics against Australia with a depleted squad came out on top, beating the iconic India vs Pakistan Test series of 1999 in the final showdown.
    What made India's victory all the more special was the fact that, unlike last time, it came against a full-strength Australia squad, that too in the absence of several of their first-choice players, including regular skipper Virat Kohli, pace quartet of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharm, Umesh Yadav, among others.

    Despite all this, some fans were still not happy with the result and claimed "recency bias" saying there were other series like the 2005 Ashes that perhaps deserved the title more.

    India were bundled for their lowest-ever total 36-all out in the series opener in Adelaide and suffered a humiliating eight-wicket loss inside three days.
    The visitors then lost their charismatic skipper Virat Kohli who returned home on paternity leave while Mohammed Shami was ruled out for the remainder of the series with an injury.
    However, the stand-in skipper Ajikya Rahane led by an example and scored a match-winning century at the MCG as India cinched the Boxing Day Test by eight wickets.

    While India managed to win the match, pacer Umesh Yadav suffered a series-ending injury, which left the touring party without three of their four front-line seamers and things looked all bleak going ahead.

    In the third Test at Sydney Cricket Ground, Ravichandran Ashwin and Hanuma Vihari batted for 42.4 overs and pulled off a remarkable draw on the fifth and the final day that nobody saw coming.
    Despite battling great pain, both players held fort and kept Australian bowlers at bay on the final day to eke out a remarkable draw. Ashwin remained unbeaten on 39 off 128 balls while Vihari faced 161 balls for his 23 not out. Both would go on to miss the series decider with their respective injuries suffered during Sydney Test.
    With series level at 1-1, India reached Australia's fortress in Brisbane where the hosts hadn't lost a single Test match in 32 years and nobody in their right mind gave the injury-laden Indian side a chance. However, what transpired over the next five days earned the series a place in Indian cricket's folklore.
    The partnership between Washington Sundar and Shardul Thakur was the highlight of the first innings but it was the hot and cold partnership between Rishabh Pant and Cheteshwar Pujara that kept the visitors alive in the game. 
    Despite losing several partners from the other end in quick succession, Pant held his nerves and got India over the line with a glorious boundary to long-off.

    Bollywood Actor Juhi Chawla has finally responded to her loss in the recent 5G court case by posting a video on her Instagram profile.
    The actor approached the court against the rollout of 5G technology in India which was later dismissed and fined Rs 20 Lakh. 
    She has now reiterated in her video that her case with other petitioners was not against 5G itself, but instead wanted to be reassured it was certified safe.

    She said, "There has been so much noise in the past few days that I couldn’t even hear myself. I feel like a very important message got lost in the noise. That is, we are not against 5G. In fact, we are welcoming of it. All we're asking is that the authorities certify it safe. We are just asking them to publish their studies in the public domain so our fears are allayed.”

    "We just want to know that it is safe for children, pregnant women, unborn children, for people who are old and infirm…for flora and fauna. That is all we're asking," she added.

    Juhi Chawla had filed a petition against the new mobile communications technology in the Delhi High Court. The suit was filed through advocate Deepak Khosla and sought clarification whether the new technology is any threat to living organisms.

    Instead, the court blasted the actor for filing a lawsuit without giving any representation to the government on her concerns related to the technology. 

    The court further added, “this suit has been filed only for media publicity and nothing more than that.”
    Last week, the actor was then fined by the Delhi High Court for a sum of Rs 20 Lakh for ‘abusing and misusing the process of law’. 
    After dismissing the case on technical grounds, the court said, “the plaintiffs have abused and misused the process of law which has resulted in waste of judicial time. The cost of Rs 20 lakh is imposed on the plaintiffs. The plaintiffs are directed to deposit the cost of Rs 20 lakh with Delhi State Legal Services Authority within one week.” 
    The original petition filed by Juhi Chawla, Veeresh Malik, and Teena Vachani claimed that the 5G rollout in India could cause 'irreversible damage to the environment.

    As if the beef with Twitter was not enough, now Instagram has come under fire after a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader filed a complaint against the American social networking service for allegedly showcasing Hindu god, Lord Shiva in a "bad taste".

    BJP leader Manish Singh lodged the complaint after finding a sticker on Instagram that showed Lord Shiva winking while holding a glass of wine in one hand and a smartphone in another.

    Singh said the sticker, which was seen in Instagram's story section, hurt Hindu sentiments, after which he went on to file the complaint at the Parliament Street police station in New Delhi against the Instagram CEO and his other top officials.

    When critics who had access to the previews of Marvel’s latest mini-series, Loki, said that it is way better than WandaVision, most Marvel fans thought, “God, they must be joking.” Like many hardcore Marvel fans, it was hard for most of us to believe that any mini-series from Marvel could surpass it.

    Well, that’s exactly what Loki’s 1st episode manages to do. The episode is aptly named, “Glorious Purpose.” It sets the tone for the upcoming episodes, in a brilliant manner.

    Let’s start with the issues that one will find with the episode because there are only a few of them. The pacing of the episode is slow at times. That is mainly because there aren’t many action sequences in the film.

    Another aspect that may come across as an issue, is the verbosity of the dialogues, especially with Tom Hiddleston’s portions. It does come across as a little too posh, mainly because of his British accent. However, Tom Hiddleston’s chemistry with Owen Wilson takes care of it. If you pay attention, it is in these dialogues that you will find humour.

    Speaking of Tom Hiddleston & Owen Wilson’s chemistry, it is simply on fire. We can’t help but mention, Owen Wilson is a gem of an actor. Marvel should have inducted him into the MCU a long time ago.

    The banter between Loki & Mobius is awesome, and from the looks of it, the first episode wasn’t even the strongest in that regard, especially when you compare it to the trailer. For an episode whose purpose was to set the scene and set the story, the first episode is epic in that regard, there’s simply no other word for it.

    Another aspect that we loved about the episode, is the way Loki’s high headed, prick-like personality is dealt with. Remember that scene from The Avengers, where Hulk hulks out and thrashes Loki around? There are a number of sequences that are just as funny, although, not as violent.

    With that being said, there are moments when you genuinely feel sorry for Loki, and start empathising with his character. You start rooting for him, even though you know that most of his actions are self-serving, and you do get to see the selfish, mischievous Loki from time to time.

    By the end of the episode, when Loki finally gets to see his “Glorious Purpose” you do start rooting for him. Oh, and be cautious, there is a major twist in the penultimate scene of the episode. And one more thing - everything that you thought you knew about the Marvel universe, infinity stones, and timelines, all goes out of the window in this episode.

    Coming to the technical aspects and Marvel’s own folklore, the show is going to be quintessentially Marvel, and anyone who expected otherwise would be a fool. The show is beautifully shot and has very detailed backdrop settings. The background score is fantastic and compliments the pace of the scenes. The attention to detail begs belief, that a mini-series had such a budget.

    And then, there is Marvel’s own fantastical idea of space and time. You finally get to understand how the Multiverse functions, and why time, indeed, is the greatest power in the Marvel universe.

    If you have really enjoyed movies and shows from Marvel, then Loki has set out to be a series that you will thoroughly enjoy. If you have only enjoyed the Avengers films and the big-ticket Iron Man movies, then chances are you might find the first episode to be average at best. Is it entertaining though? Absolutely yes.

    Yeah, in a bizarre incident that will probably leave you amazed, Georgia Laurie, a 28-year-old woman saved the life of her twin sister Melissa from a crocodile by punching the deadly reptile off of her.

    Both sisters were on a trip to Mexico City, where they had been swimming in Manialtepec Lagoon, which is 450 miles southeast of the City, when Melissa, a zookeeper, was suddenly attacked by a croc.

    Seeing her twin helpless against the deadly reptile, Georgia channelled her inner Muhammad Ali and punched the croc repeatedly until it got off her.

    Soon after the incident, both sisters were taken to the hospital, where while Georgia had injuries to her hands, and Melissa has been kept in a medically induced coma to prevent her injuries from becoming infected.

    The twins, who have now been given heavy doses of intravenous antibiotics, are now recovering at the hospital, with their mother, Sue Laurie, giving an update on their status.

    "We have twin daughters who are travelling around Mexico were attacked by a crocodile last night. Melissa is alive, but we don't know if her injuries are life-threatening or not. She has water in her lungs and she has been coughing up blood. So we don't know if she has a punctured lung or not. She has been put into a medically induced coma," said Sue, while speaking to MailOnline.

    According to the BBC, Georgia, who is an experienced diver, found Melissa to be unresponsive following the attack and tried to get her back on the boat that they had been on.

    The older sister of the twins, Hana Laurie also described exactly what went down with the crocodile.
    "She (Georgia) dragged her (Melissa) back as the crocodile kept coming back for more - so she just started hitting it. She'd heard that with some animals, that's what you've got to do. I felt really proud of her, very proud of her," said Hana.
    We really hope that the twins recover to full health soon so that they can embark on further adventures soon.

    The England cricket team has come across a unique predicament in which they are discovering that many of their regular rotation players have expressed some racist, sometimes even sexist opinions on the internet in the past.
    Here are the four ‘Racist and Sexist’ tweets by England cricketers that have made their lives difficult now:
    1. Ollie RobinsonIt all started out when a 27-year old Ollie Robinson made his international Test debut during the first of two matches against New Zealand earlier this month. Robinson’s tweets from eight years ago were once again made public, which he seemed proud of calling himself a racist and made derogatory remarks about women.

    And even though the cricketer expressed his apology for being an ignorant 18-year old kid, the England and Wales Cricket Board suspended him following his debut until the investigation is completed. 

    However, Robinson’s case and the reaction by the ECB acted as a catalyst as the social media world started diving deep into the history of other England cricketers and the result may have become a nightmare for the board.
    2. James AndersonTwitter users on Tuesday dug up an old tweet from pacer James Anderson's account in which he said that his teammate Stuart Broad “looked like a 15 yr old lesbian!"

    Anderson, who will become the most-capped Test player this week, reacted to the on-going controversy. “For me it's 10-11 years ago, I've certainly changed as a person. And I think that's the difficulty, things do change, you do make mistakes," he said.

    3. Jos Buttler - Eoin MorganThen there are names like Jos Buttler and skipper Eoin Morgan who have been accused of making fun of the say Indians speak English. Screenshots of Twitter conversations by Buttler shows him writing “Well done on double 100 much beauty batting you are on fire sir,” to Alex Hales from August 2017.

    4. Dom BessFinally, there’s Dom Bess, who back in 2012, had mocked the Indian national anthem by calling it “one of the funniest” with an image of Rohit Sharma standing in attention.     The trailer of Netflix's Ray is out and finally, perhaps the country will be able to get a taste of the sheer talent that Mr Satyajit Ray embodied. Even though most of the country knows him as the legendary, Honorary Oscar-Winning director that he was, he was so, so much more than just that.

    For Bengali kids from back in the day, when 'reading' was a thing, Satyajit Ray was nothing short of God. While his brilliance as a director did get recognized worldwide, the magic that he was able to weave as a writer, remains painfully underrated to anyone who does not know how to read Bengali. The iconic characters like Feluda and Professor Shonku, without a shred of doubt, deserve worldwide recognition.

    Finally, with Netflix's Ray, 4 of his short stories are about to be retold with a modern day twist. Every Ray fan has been wondering one thing ever since the trailer released - which are the 4 original Bengali stories that are being retold here? Clearly, the names that Netflix has given - Forget Me Not, Hungama Hai Kyon Barpa, Bahrupiya, and Spotlight - are not the original nomenclatures.


    We did a bit of snooping around and found out the original stories that have been retold in Netflix's Ray. Here's everything we know so far. Don't worry, I'm not going to spoil the stories for you.

    Srijit Mukherjee's 'Forget Me Not' starring Ali Fazal has been taken from the short story 'Bipin Choudhurir Smritibhram', which translates to 'Bipin Choudhuri's Amnesia'. The story is about a man who mysteriously loses his memory, and the peculiar events that unfold post that.

    Vasan Bala's 'Spotlight', starring Harshvarrdhan Kapoor, has been taken from the story with the same name, which is about an actor who is gifted with brilliant looks, but not much acting ability.

    The last one, named 'Bahrupiya', is based on 'Bahuroopi', that translates to polymorphic, or one with multiple faces or identities - like a chameleon. Kay Kay Menon plays a man who has a 'computer job', but is passionate about make-up. This one too is directed by Srijit Mukherjee.

    Kangana Ranaut is the 'Queen' of Bollywood. Not just for her immaculate acting skills, but she is known as the Queen of controversies as well. 

    While some people have hailed her for taking a stand against issues in the nation, others have slammed her incessantly for simply making noise. 
    But the fact remains that she has single-handedly called out people who have failed, in her opinion, without worrying about losing her credentials.

    After a barrage of controversies, Kangana recently claimed that despite being the highest tax-paying actress, she couldn't pay half of last year's tax, as she wasn't getting any work. 

    She also mentioned that she doesn't mind if the government adds interest to the tax amount.

    In her Instagram post, the actress shared, "Even though I come under highest tax slab pay almost 45 per cent of my income as tax, even though I am the highest tax-paying actress but because of no work haven't paid half of my last year's tax yet, first time in my life."

    Recently, Uri actress Yami Gautam posted beautiful pictures from her wedding, to which Kangana posted several comments. When Vikrant Massey said Yami looks 'Pure and pious, like Radhe Maa', Kangana replied, "Kahan se nikla ye cockroach..lao meri chappal."
