Kangana Ranaut, a month back, was tested positive for Coronavirus but landed in a controversy when she called Covid-19 ‘a small flu which got too much press’ and wrote that she will demolish it.
Kangana Ranaut wrote, “I was feeling tired and weak with a slight burning sensation in my eyes for the past few days, was hoping to go to Himachal so got my test done yesterday and today the result came. I am covid positive.”
She further added, “I have quarantined myself, I had no idea this virus is having a party in my body, now that I know I will demolish it, people please don’t give anything any power over you, if you are scared it will scare you more, come let’s destroy this Covid -19 it is nothing but small-time flu which got too much press and now psyching few people. Har Har Mahadev (sic).”
The actor seems to have understood that COVID is no ordinary flu and has taken a U-Turn and in her recent video that the virus can give people false indications of recovery. Sharing her experiences, she said, “I am here to talk about my experience of recovering from coronavirus. Covid-19 is like ‘sardi-zukaam’ – (common cold) as I had told you all earlier, that has been my experience, but while fighting and recovering from Covid, many shocking things happened to me, something I’ve never experienced before. I have always seen that when you are ill, once you start recovering, it is a perpetual journey forward. But, in the case of coronavirus, it is a fake sense of recovery.”
View this post on Instagram
She added, “Only after a day or two of testing negative for corona, I felt I could do everything, like working out and shooting with colleagues and talking to friends, as I could do earlier. But when I stepped out to do those things, I started feeling like there was a relapse, I was not really well. I was again bed-ridden, and at one point, I felt like I couldn’t get out of bed. My throat was bad again and I felt feverish again too.”
The Manikarnika actor added, “This virus is quite unpredictable, as it attacks our body we don’t know how our body reacts as it is a genetically modified virus, and mutes our natural body response. Many people are even losing their lives because of it. Hence it is very important to have a full recovery. While fighting the virus I’ve spoken to many doctors and I have realized that one should not underestimate resting during the recovery period. So continue resting and getting better.”
After she posted the video, people started to troll her and reminded her that she was one to make such a statement earlier.

The second season of The Family Man is being received with great enthusiasm and a resounding affirmation that the second season is in fact just as good as the first one, if not better.
© Prime Video
One of the key tracks of the series was the evolving nature of familial relationships. Sharad Kelkar’s Arvind was a character that many people related with.
His chemistry with Priyamani’s Suchitra piqued the curiosity of everyone who has seen the show.
© Prime Video
More to the point, everyone who was following this parallel track had just one question at the end of the season - “Lonavala mein kya hua tha?”
So, we sat down with Sharad and had a chat with him about Lonavala, his upcoming projects, and his take on his character being labelled a “home breaker.”
Here are the edited excerpts:
1. So, how have you been dealing with the pandemic? As an actor do you feel the urge to get back to work immediately?
I guess I have been dealing with the pandemic like everyone else - staying at home and trying not to step out unless it is necessary. I’ve been keeping busy with my household chores.
As for getting back to work during the lockdown, I do not have that urge. Fortunately, I had finished a few projects just before the lockdown. I finished a movie called Deja Vu.
Before that, I had finished a project in January, and a different Marathi film. I was a bit overworked before this. The lockdown has given me an opportunity to rest and recharge myself.
© Instagram/Sharad Kelkar
2. You had some great releases in the last two years, namely Tanhaji & Laxmii. Have those performances changed the kind of roles that you get?
The approach and the kind of roles that I get offered have of course changed, but my idea of working is still the same. I want to do different kinds of roles, I don't want to get typecast in stereotypical roles.
I have been lucky that I've been getting these kinds of offers for some time now.
© AA Films
With that being said, I am waiting for things to get back to normal. Right now getting picked for a role or choosing one, doesn't matter as such.
Until and unless we start shooting the way we used to, there is no point. You need to pay your bills so whatever offers you are getting, you say yes to them.
With that being said I am lucky I would say. People have started seeing me in a different light. They are showing faith in me, not only in terms of projects but budgets as well.
The next step is to have a few films of my own. Let's see how it goes, because I am not the kind of person who would like to run around trees, singing songs.
© Disney+ Hotstar
3. There was a brief scare that the second season of The Family Man wouldn’t get to see a release. What was the team’s reaction to this? Were all of you confident that the series would get a release?
We were quite sure that the show would be released and quite soon because we never short anything controversial or offensive as such, barring one or two words here and there.
I have seen most of the series and I don't think people will find anything objectionable on that level. There were a few small things but we changed that.
Obviously, we have to follow the rules and regulations that have been set. We made the necessary changes.
© Instagram/Sharad Kelkar
4. Just before the release, there were a few people who had seen the new trailer and were demanding a ban on the new season. How do you feel when people comb through a trailer and pick something insignificant and start demanding a ban, on that basis?
I will be very honest here, such incidents aren’t actually about the shoe or any film for that matter. People as of now have a very sensitive and fragile frame of mind.
With all that has been going on around us, with people dying, and not having a job, they frustrated, and they have time on their hands.
© Prime Video
Tomorrow when the pandemic gets over, and people go back to their normal lives, their daily routine, these things will die down. Even we, at the best of times, are criticising a lot of things right now, because we don't have that focus in our lives.
Also, people should realise that a film, TV show, web series, all of these are fiction. It may be inspired by something real, but we are just acting in it, it isn't real.
People are writing fiction to entertain you and keep you at home. All I'll say is just sit back and enjoy the show. Things will get better, once the pandemic goes away, once we’re all vaccinated.
© Prime Video
With that being said, as creators, and as people who are making content, we also have to realise what the mindset of the people is. They are in a very negative zone right now, because they have experienced loss in some way or the other. All this will get over.
5. Let’s talk about your character, Arvind, it has been really well received, and people feel connected to him. How did it come about?
Mukesh Chhabra called me for an audition and then I signed the show. I was very happy because this is a very relatable character for a lot of us.
What we see in the show between Arvind and Suchi is what is happening around us. It is there in real life, people are getting into such zones.
This is what makes my character relatable and that's why people connected with my character. That's also why my character got noticed.
© Prime Video
6. People have taken a special and keen interest in Arvind & Suchitra’s relationship. They have accused your character to be a home breaker? Are you comfortable with that assessment? How does Arvind’s & Suchi’s character evolve over Season 2?
Some people have said that Arvind is a home breaker and some people have said that no Arvind this is actually the nice one, it is Suchi who should be blamed.
They have to realise that it is not as simple as that. I think this is one of the most mature and nuanced relationships people have seen in a series.
Arvind & Suchi support each other emotionally, and professionally. They have their moments, but they haven’t done anything wrong.
© Prime Video
Also, it is not right that people blame some third person as the home breaker. The home, or rather the family started breaking much before the third person was involved.
Suchi had to seek emotional support elsewhere because Shrikant was not responsible towards his family. He was a big-time liar, he was not giving time to Suchi, and nor to his kids.
The kids are also grown up now and have now become independent. Therefore, they don't value the mother so much nor do they value their father
People could see that the breaking of the family had already started. If you want to blame Arvind, you can think of him as the catalyst, nothing more than that.
Maybe they will understand what is happening around them, what is right and what is wrong. This is what the second season is going to be about. Raj (Nidimoru) and (Krishna) D.K have handled the subject with great maturity.
© Prime Video
7. Let’s talk about the entire Lonavala business. Did you expect that the incident would become such a big thing among fans and the internet?
We knew that this was an important track in the series and that the incident is connected to one of the leading tracks of the show, but no one had anticipated that this would blow up to this proportion, that it would be such a big thing.
There are two questions that have followed my performances The first one was “Katappa ne Bahubali ko kyu mara?” from Baahubali and this, “Lonavla mein kya hua tha?” These two will be the most asked questions in my life it seems.
© Prime Video
8. You once said that it doesn’t matter whether it is a film, an OTT show or series you’re working on, for you it is all the same. Can you expand on that?
See, as far as the craft is concerned, it is all the same for me. What is different, is the way you approach the project.
When a casting director or a producer calls you for a film, you are there for that film - you do your work, you do what you are asked to do, and then you move on to a different character, to a different role, and to a different film altogether.
This is a very finite process, there is a definite end to it.
© Instagram/Sharad Kelkar
With a series, there is a chance that it may be for one season or five seasons. The director or the producer has to consider how the actor they are about to sign, stands over the next five years creatively. The actor and the character, both age.
As an actor, when I do a series, I can't just forget a character and chuck it out of my body, because I will have to do the same thing in the next season as well. So, the approach of an actor for a series has to be slightly different.
Like I said, crafts wise, it stays the same, whether you are working on a film, or web series or a TV show.
© Instagram/Sharad Kelkar
9. Once the lockdown ends, what is your plan? What will we see you in next?
Once the lockdown ends, I will be working to finish up Bhuj, that's a priority. Then I did a Marathi film before the lockdown, some patchwork is remaining for that. Then there is Deja Vu and all the post-production work for that. Then I think I will start with promotions after that.
There was also a project that I was supposed to start this September, but I don't think it will start on start on time, so hopefully, we will start in October. It seems that I will be occupied with something or the other.

Men spend a lot of time grooming their beard to ensure it looks good. However, one of the main things that is forgotten is the smell of facial hair, that can be pretty messed up if not take care of.
During summers, the skin below a beard can get sweaty, leading to a gross smell coming from the beard. This is quite common, but there are reasons and ways in which you can prevent your beard from smelling bad. Check it out:
What Makes Your Beard Smell-1. BacteriaBacteria is the biggest culprit. The particles around can get stuck in the beard hair and make you sweat.
2. EnvironmentThere are a lot of things that can lead to smell in beards. Smoke, pollution, grime etc, play a big part.
© iStock
3. FoodAs you start growing your beard and it reaches a certain length, the food also gets stuck in the beard sometimes, making it smell funny.
4. SebumSebum is a body's natural way to keep the beard conditioned. It builds at the bottom of the hair.
So, if you don't wash your beard properly, the sebum can build up with bacteria and make your beard smell.
Sebum also depends on the food you eat. If the items are strong-smelling, the sebum tends to adopt the smell. If you notice a smell coming from your beard, it's time to cut down on eating such food items.

Now, here's how you can keep the beard from smelling bad:
1. Clean Your Beard Every Day__ECOMPRODUCT__297__
Daily cleaning of beard is important to keep it smelling fresh. There are many beard shampoos available in the market.
Try using the Invigorating Beard Wash. This one gives the beard a good, gentle wash and gives maximum hydration as well.
Thanks to its formula, it also prevents the frizzy effect and controls the bad smell.
2. Exfoliate Your Beard © iStock
A deep-cleansing is not just important for the face but it should be done for the beard as well. Doing it a couple of times a week can help the beard smell fresh.
The small granules in the solution rinse the beard well and keep it soft. The formula also has the potential to keep the bad smell at bay.
3. Use Beard Oil © iStock
Beard oil is another essential product that can help your facial hair get rid of the funny smell. But that doesn't mean you layer several fragrances together and overdo it.
In fact, a beard oil with a subtle fragrance can work better since the olfactory glands in the nose get irritated with strong smells.
Hence, you don't want to use a product that's complex and gets your sense of smell all bothered.
4. Consider Combining With Scented Beard Balm © iStock
After using beard oil, comes beard balm. Beard balms also play a huge role in the beard care routine. Typically, men combine oils with balms.
But a good idea would be to go for fragrances that complement each other. Usually, fragrances like citrus, lavender and mint merge well together.
This is one of the best ways to get rid of the strange smell.

Most people struggle with acne as soon as they hit puberty and the sad thing is that these breakouts sometimes stay longer than we expect them to.
Adult acne is a thing and there could be various reasons you are still dealing with zits in your 20s, 30s and 40s (like taxes and societal pressure wasn’t enough).
© iStock
However, the location of your acne can tell you a lot about why you are popping out a new pimple every once in a while.
Whether it is cheeks, foreheads or jawlines, mapping where you get acne can make a difference.
Basically, acne on different parts of your face means different things and if you trace back the cause of it, you can treat it the right way.
© iStock
If you are clueless about why you get acne on one part of your face more than other, here is everything you need to know.
Acne on specific spots on your face tells you about your health and lifestyle habits. While stress, excess oil and poor diet could all end up in acne, you need to know where you are going wrong so you can get rid of them.
Here are the most common breakout locations and their causes and how to fix them:
© iStock
1. HairlineThis is the part on your face that comes in close contact with the hair products like hair oil and styling products. These products can clog the pores and induce acne.
Also, men who tend to sweat on the temples or have dandruff are prone to hairline acne.
To treat it, wash your face regularly to get rid of the sweat, oil and dandruff flakes and use your hair products carefully to avoid getting it on the skin.
© iStock
2. CheeksIf you are getting acne on your cheeks, it is a sign of poor hygiene, bacteria from pillows and stress. Also, environmental aggressors could also play a part in inducing acne on your cheeks.
Exfoliate your face to get the dirt and dust off and change your sheets and pillow covers regularly. Maintain good hygiene and keep yourself clean to keep it in check.
© iStock
3. JawlineAcne on your chin and jawline have been associated with hormones in your body. Increased levels of testosterone could lead to aggravated breakouts on your chin. Acne in this area is also often caused by ingrown hair.
Use products with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Men who have a beard should make sure they steer clear of excess beard oil and use of a dirty comb.
© iStock
4. T-zone Your nose, forehead and space between the eyebrows is your T-zone and it is the most common area that becomes a zit city for most people.
The reason is that this zone produces excess sebum, especially in extreme weather.
Use a face wash twice daily to get rid of excess oil. Fiddling with your forehead while thinking and touching your nose also adds up to the problem. So, keep your hands to yourself.

Next time you get a pimple on a certain spot, you what caused it and you also know what to do!

Naagin actor Pearl V Puri has been arrested by the Mumbai Police for allegedly assaulting a minor two years ago. A case was registered against Puri by the victim’s father in 2019.

“The victim identified the accused recently, and after recording her statement, the accused has been arrested. After the identification of the accused, we have taken him into custody for further investigation,” said Sanjay Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Zone of Mira Bhayandar, Vasai.
The accused has been booked under Sections 376 AB (Punishment for rape on woman under 12 years of age) of the Indian Penal Code, and Sections 4, 8, 12, 19 and 21 under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
In Pearl’s defence, his co-star Anita Hassanandani took to Instagram and stood up for him. She said that it cannot be true as she knows him well and the truth will find its way. She captioned the post, "Woke up to some nonsensical news bout @pearlvpuri I know him! It is NOT true ... canNOT be true.... all lies. I’m sure there is more to it. And the truth will be out soon. Love you @pearlvpuri #ISTANDWITHPEARL."

The actor’s fans have come to his rescue and are sure of the fact that he can’t do such a thing. But there are others who went on to say that the minor is a victim till the time the judgement doesn’t come and it’s too soon to draw any conclusions saying that the actor is innocent.

Google announced its latest operating system for smartphones i.e. Android 12 and it would be hard to ignore some of the major updates that improve a user’s experience. In fact, some of these clever features would make perfect sense for iOS as well which is why we feel some of them should come to the walled garden as well.
© Unsplash/omid-armin
I tend to use both iOS and Android devices and it’s kind of hard to ignore features that both platforms excel at. After getting a deep look into Android 12, here are some features I would like iOS 15 to copy:
1. Notifications © Google
Notifications on iOS is still a major issue as it’s not at par with Android at the moment. It’s convoluted and often takes up a lot of real estate in the Notification Center. Android 12’s notifications have now improved further, thanks to new features. Users can directly manage junk mails, reply to messages and get relevant information such as weather updates straight from the notification shade. Google also does a better job at grouping Notifications and Instant Messaging conversations. It's a more streamlined way of handling notifications and it’s high time we see Apple implement something similar for iPhone users.
2. Customisations © Google
Google has gone a step further when it comes to customising your experience on Android 12. For starters, you can now make your smartphone unique to you, thanks to the new ‘Material You’ design choice for Android 12. The new update will let Android users set a colour theme to just about everything. You can also match colours from the wallpaper you are using in the Quick Settings menu and the Notification shade. If the wallpaper has hints of green, the system will automatically pick that up and apply it to different facets of the operating system. It would be awesome to see the same level of customisation on iOS 15 as well even though Apple has been known to not offer a plethora of customisation options.
3. Quick Settings © Google
Many smart devices today are compatible with Apple’s Homekit and can be accessed from the Control Center. Android 12’s Quick Settings work in a similar way, however it’s far easier to access and is tied to the notification shade. This enables users to access smart devices with a single swipe on the same screen without having the need to go to a different menu. On iOS, the Control Center is separated from the Notification Centre which makes accessing smart devices a bit more troublesome. On Android 12, using the new Quick Settings is a far smoother experience and more efficient than using iOS’ Control Center.

Yuzvendra Chahal’s Indian Premier League journey has been a bit unusual up until he was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the base price of Rs. 10 lakh in 2014 and then re-bought in 2018 auction.
He was introduced to the league by Mumbai Indians back in 2011 but only made a single appearance through three seasons (against Kolkata Knight Riders) while playing in all the matches of the 2011 Champions League Twenty20 and was fairly consistent and efficient.
© Mumbai Indians
Today, the leg spinner is one of the most important parts of the RCB campaign which was doing exceedingly well in the 14th edition of the tournament ahead of the postponement due to the bio-bubble burst a couple of months ago.
In a conversation with Crictracker, the cricketer was asked which franchise he would wish to play for if the Bengaluru team was off the table. “Chennai Super Kings,” answered the 30-year old, suggesting that if it wasn’t for the team led by Virat Kohli, he would want to jump ships and join forces with the former Team India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni and become a member of the ‘Whistle Podu’ army.
However, Chahal’s answer may have disappointed a few of his fans from the RCB family, which sparked a franchise-war on social media:
Why would you downgrade?

— Mr. Srav@118 (@sravan94334268) June 5, 2021No-one needs to you. Just stink up the joint in RCB. https://t.co/fdxbjHwKyZ
— The Alchemist (@ponananthvs) June 5, 2021
RCB remains in search of its first-ever IPL Trophy despite being one of the eight franchises which became a part of the league when it was inaugurated in 2008. On the other hand, CSK is perched as the second-most successful squad in the history of the league - just behind Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians - with three titles under the leadership of Dhoni.
In terms of international cricket, Chahal was left out of the roster currently in England for the World Test Championship final against Kane Williamson’s New Zealand and the four-match Test series against the hosts that followed.

— SportsVenus (@sports_venus) May 7, 2021
During the first half of the currently on-hold IPL season, Chahal had four wickets under his belt while appearing in seven matches which is decent but might have an adverse impact on his chances of getting picked for the T20 World Cup, especially with the return of all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and a few spinners like Axar Patel at the top of their games.
