Most kids detest Math in school and the reason is that they find it extremely tough and one of the most perplexing subjects. A lot of things taught in math class go above our heads like theorems, formulas and even the instruments in our geometry box.
© iStock
Remember the contents of the geometry box? Protector, compass and there were some other alien objects that we almost never used in our entire school life. For example, those triangular scales and divider.
© iStock
We had almost forgotten about the divider (since we never felt the need for it in our adult life) until we were reminded of it by a Twitter user.
© iStock
A picture was shared on Twitter where someone had asked what it is actually used for and the netizens, probably still clueless about its utility, came up with funny responses.
okay but what the **** is this for? pic.twitter.com/Lz68k2LmDy
— poha (@pohahub) June 2, 2021
From using it to threaten the bullies to carve your name on the desk, Twitter users gave hilarious but wrong answers for why a divider was used.

This is a divider. Earlier used by British during their rule and nowadays again getting popularity since 2014.

To threaten the teacher into letting you go to the washroom between the test
— adith||free palestine🇵🇸 (@rasputinforeal) June 2, 2021
These answers sound like they have been written by some pro backbenchers. That being said these sure are some creative uses of the pointy instruments, one of two of which we all have used a divider for.
© iStock
For those who are now curious about the real function of the tool, there were some super smart people who did give the right answers on the thread. A user wrote, “This is used to measure the length between two points accurately.” Another wrote, “I remember my teachers asking me to measure the line segments using the divider.”
© iStock
The OP was clearly amazed by the range of comments they got on their post. They replied, “the education system is failing fr wtf are these comments”
Whether or not they got the answer to their question, it did take us all back to one of the dreaded Math classes from when we were in school.

Owing to the deadly second wave of Covid-19, the last three months were definitely a testing time for citizens of the country, especially the ones in New Delhi where there was an acute shortage of medical oxygen.
© BBC
While the thousands of infections could have clearly overwhelmed the healthcare infrastructure of any city, the fact remains that the acute scarcity of medical supplies was not just down to a high number of cases.
© Facebook/Navneet Kalra
However, the recent revelation of AAP MLA Praveen Kumar's role in hoarding Covid-related medicines is what has truly been tough to take.
© TOI
Soon after Delhi's drug controller told the Delhi High Court to seek immediate action against the guilty parties, it was sure enough that the national capital's AAP government and its chief Arvind Kejriwal's name was thrown in the dirt.

‘Mujh se pehli si muhabbat mere mehboob na maang, Maine samjhaa tha ke tu hai to darakhshaan hai hayaat, Tera gham hai to gham-e-dehar ka jhagdaa kyaa hai...Aur bhi dukh hai zamaane mein muhabbat ke siwaa
Raahatein aur bhi hain vasl ki raahat ke siwaa’
Noor (played by Meher Mistry) recites a verse by Faiz Ahmad Faiz to Anwar (Kartik Aaryan) and perfectly captures the essence of the short film. If you have watched Silvat, you would agree with me that it’s at par with the realistic shows that Pakistani filmmakers have directed over the years.
© Zee5
It is the story of a woman named Noor, whose husband moved to Riyadh 2 days after their wedding and she finds solace in Anwar who’s a tailor, and he finds himself falling in love with her. The pain and pleasures of first love are so beautifully portrayed that you can instantly fall in love with both the characters. You know their love story is doomed and unfortunate but you still can’t help yourself rooting for the two.
Kartik Aaryan has done an exemplary job in portraying such an intense character with calmness. There’s a scene in the movie where Anwar destroys Noor’s bed sheet and the viewers are taken back to the scene where he told Noor that he wants to marry someone he loves but his world came crashing down when he got to know that Noor’s husband will be coming back.
© Zee5
It’s hard to imagine Kartik this way because he has done roles that are in contrast to Anwar. In an interview with The Hindu, director Tanuja Chauhan said, “I am a lover of unexpected casting. Kartik has done urban, bad-boy roles, but I had the distinct feeling that there was a stillness in him, which for me, in any case, is the thing that most conveys an actor’s capabilities. And happily, I was right. In the film, he has shown gentleness, tenderness, sweetness, but also rage within. He is just wonderful in the film.” Kartik surely has a lot of potential and it’s time that we start seeing the set notion about him.
Meher does go off track in between but picks up the pace once again and the last scene completely jolts you a viewer and leaves you sympathetic towards the doomed love story of Anwar and Noor.
© Zee5
As the movie is set in 1997 Bombay, the director perfectly manages to transport us back to the old days as she has kept her narrative in a subtle fashion.
In a nutshell, Silvat beautifully captures the fight between pursuing your love and sticking to a moral code of conduct as a married woman.
Here’s the trailer:
Kartik recently took to Instagram to express his gratitude and also shared a teaser of the film. He captioned it, "Always grateful to Tanuja Chandra ma'am for this experience."

After his post on his social media handles, people who have watched the movie and also the ones who recently encountered it are calling it a masterpiece and we don’t deny this claim.
Here are the reactions:

People eagerly waiting for John Wick 4 have a reason to celebrate, for Donnie Yen has joined the crew and will be seen alongside Keanu Reeves.
© Lionsgate
The John Wick series has to be one of the best action films franchises that we have had in the last decade. The last film, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, in particular, was spectacular.
© Lionsgate
The fighting sequences, especially the close-quarters, hand-to-hand combat sequences were blissful to watch, mainly because of how beautifully they were choreographed.
© Lionsgate
Well now, with John Wick 4 currently in production, fans of the series will get to see something really magical. Yen, after all, is a highly regarded martial artist and action star.
© Well Go USA
For those who have been living under a rock all this while, and don’t know who Donnie Yen is, he is the guy who stars in the legendary Ip Man film series. Ip Man was a chinese martial artist, who settled down in Hong Kong for the later part of his life, and taught Bruce Lee several forms of martial arts, but mainly, Wing Chun.
© Wiki Commons
Donnie Yen’s iteration of Ip Man has garnered a lot of praise from martial art enthusiasts and fans of kung fu films all across the world. One of his core expertise is to choreograph fighting sequences.
© Well Go USA
An American entertainment website reports that Donnie will play the role of an old acquaintance of John Wick, who 'shares his same history and many of the same enemies'. Given that John was left in a pretty bad shape at the end of Chapter 3, fans of the series can expect a stellar story in the next instalment.
Fans, of course just couldn’t contain their excitement over the news.

It’s been a while since we took a trip to a scenic hill station since we have been homebound for a year now due to the ongoing pandemic and lockdown restrictions.
Amidst this, any time anyone shares a throwback picture of their trip in the mountains or their wanderlust spots they wish to travel to, it makes us go weak in the knees.

A NASA astronaut took this one level up when he shared an aerial picture of the Himalayas from space and made Twitter go into major FOMO mode.
Mark T. Vande Hei is currently aboard the ISS and keeps on sharing pictures of Earth from up there. He recently captured the stunning Himalayan range and Twitter went crazy about the view.
