Most kids detest Math in school and the reason is that they find it extremely tough and one of the most perplexing subjects. A lot of things taught in math class go above our heads like theorems, formulas and even the instruments in our geometry box.

Remember the contents of the geometry box? Protector, compass and there were some other alien objects that we almost never used in our entire school life. For example, those triangular scales and divider.

We had almost forgotten about the divider (since we never felt the need for it in our adult life) until we were reminded of it by a Twitter user.

A picture was shared on Twitter where someone had asked what it is actually used for and the netizens, probably still clueless about its utility, came up with funny responses.

These answers sound like they have been written by some pro backbenchers. That being said these sure are some creative uses of the pointy instruments, one of two of which we all have used a divider for.

For those who are now curious about the real function of the tool, there were some super smart people who did give the right answers on the thread. A user wrote, “This is used to measure the length between two points accurately.” Another wrote, “I remember my teachers asking me to measure the line segments using the divider.”

The OP was clearly amazed by the range of comments they got on their post. They replied, “the education system is failing fr wtf are these comments” 

Whether or not they got the answer to their question, it did take us all back to one of the dreaded Math classes from when we were in school.
