People eagerly waiting for John Wick 4 have a reason to celebrate, for Donnie Yen has joined the crew and will be seen alongside Keanu Reeves.

The John Wick series has to be one of the best action films franchises that we have had in the last decade. The last film, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, in particular, was spectacular.

The fighting sequences, especially the close-quarters, hand-to-hand combat sequences were blissful to watch, mainly because of how beautifully they were choreographed.

Well now, with John Wick 4 currently in production, fans of the series will get to see something really magical. Yen, after all, is a highly regarded martial artist and action star.

For those who have been living under a rock all this while, and don’t know who Donnie Yen is, he is the guy who stars in the legendary Ip Man film series. Ip Man was a chinese martial artist, who settled down in Hong Kong for the later part of his life, and taught Bruce Lee several forms of martial arts, but mainly, Wing Chun.

Donnie Yen’s iteration of Ip Man has garnered a lot of praise from martial art enthusiasts and fans of kung fu films all across the world. One of his core expertise is to choreograph fighting sequences.

An American entertainment website reports that Donnie will play the role of an old acquaintance of John Wick, who 'shares his same history and many of the same enemies'. Given that John was left in a pretty bad shape at the end of Chapter 3, fans of the series can expect a stellar story in the next instalment.
