Ben Stokes continues to be one of the best cricketers in the world and is known for dominating the field in all aspects of the game, be it batting, bowling or fielding. His mentality is that of a true competitor, he continues to play the game with utmost passion and is ever-ready to rise up to the occasion whenever his team requires him.
As the legendary all-rounder enters his 30’s today, here are four reasons why Ben Stokes should have been an Indian cricketers:
    1. Not Valued Enough At Home:
When have I ever been to tired to bowl in a England shirt pal??? https://t.co/854pfJRDXA
    — Ben Stokes (@benstokes38) March 31, 2021
Stokes, despite his excellence on both ends of the pitch, has had to defend his position while playing international cricket for England. More than once the deputy in charge of red-ball cricket has faced criticism by his English fans that he only performs well while playing in the Indian Premier League and never for his country.
Well, if that really is the case, we would love to have the man onboard. Even though he is one of the most dominant forces in international cricket, the work that he would do in the franchise league will only boost his fandom in India.
    2. Dil Se Desi:

More often than not, when an overseas player visits India for the IPL and is expected to do some Indian dance moves, he looks out of his element and struggles to make it look organic. There are only a handful of foreign players who have truly imbibed the essence of having fun with desi moves and Ben Stokes is definitely one of them. Be it a choreography that he’s had to learn for a Jio ad, or an impromptu session of letting loose, Stokes has always been on top of the game.
Steve Smith is another such lad and we won’t mind having him take an Indian citizenship, either!
    3. Shares Virat Kohli’s Level Of Aggression:
    Stokes Abused Me After the Bouncer, Virat Kohli Handled It: Siraj@mdsirajofficial @imVkohli @benstokes38 #BenStokes #Siraj #ViratKohli #INDvsEND #Cricket #4thTest pic.twitter.com/zOJqSStAmv
    — nnis (@nnis_sports) March 4, 2021
For more than a decade now, Virat Kohli has been portrayed as the only aggressor to be a part of the Indian cricket team. Sure, there are some other athletes within the team who are exceptional at what they do, but Kohli remains the only one who actually shows his competitiveness on the field and is expressive of his emotions. Others like Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Cheteshwar Pujara are too humble to join Kohli in his emotional escapades.
Having someone like Stokes in the squad will not only take some focus away from Kohli as the sole warmonger and make the banter game so much better for our soft-spoken boys. Although, the fact that Kohli continues to mean words that sound very similar to the English cricketer’s name might confuse him a little bit at first.
    4. Experts Feel The Same Way:

    — Wasim Jaffer (@WasimJaffer14) May 23, 2021
If you think we are the only ones hoping to have Ben Stokes play in the blue and orange kit, you’re wrong. Former Team India batsman, Ranji Trophy legend, and the troll-master of Indian social media, Wasim Jaffer has also expressed that he’d want to see the Englishman play as a Man in Blue.
And if the all-knowing Jaffer sahab wishes it, who are we mortals to say ‘no’?

The Indian Government told the Delhi High Court that the instant messaging app WhatsApp is “tricking consent” from its users for the new privacy policy. The Government also said that WhatsApp is evading a data protection Bill currently in the works. The Centre also said before the court that the Competition Commission of India (CCI) formed the prima facie opinion that WhatsApp violated the Competition Act, 2002.

“WhatsApp as unleashed its digital prowess to existing users and would force them to accept updated 2021 privacy policy, to transfer existing user base committed the updated privacy policy before Personal Data Protection (PDP) Bill becomes law,” it said in the affidavit, as per ANI.

In the affidavit, the Centre also urged the high court to issue a direction to WhatsApp to stop sending ‘push notification’ to users related to the new privacy policy. It also asked the court to ask WhatsApp to place on the record number of times such push notification have been pushed daily and its conversion rate as well.
“It is submitted that millions of WhatsApp existing users, those who have not accepted the updated 2021 privacy policy are being bombarded with notifications on an everyday basis," the Centre said in the affidavit.
Earlier this year, WhatsApp forced a new privacy policy on its users that lets the messaging service share data with its parent company Facebook, if users have interacted with a business on the messaging platform. The company first tried to propose to implement it in January and said users who did not accept the terms would have their accounts deleted. The company has now backtracked from the policy due to backlash from millions of users and the Indian Government.

WhatsApp is also battling the Indian Government in the Delhi High Court against the latest IT guidelines claiming that tracing of identifying originators of messages violates the right to privacy under the Indian law and effectively ends the platform’s end-to-end encryption policy.

Apple abandoned the AirPower charger a while ago but it seems like the company is now working on a future wireless charger according to Bloomberg. In its report, Bloomberg said that Apple is "still exploring” a wireless charger that could charge multiple devices like the iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods. We’ve already seen third-party wireless chargers that can charge multiple devices wirelessly and it seems like Apple may have made some headway for its own solution.
    © Apple
Apple first announced the AirPower in September 2017 alongside the iPhone X and iPhone 8 series. However, we never saw a launch for the charger. AirPower faced multiple development problems such as overheating which led to it getting cancelled in March 2019. Apple engineers were unable to solve multiple bugs affecting the device and since then we didn’t hear a word about the AirPower until in cancellation. Apple instead launched the MagSafe charger, a magnetic wireless charger that snaps onto the back of the iPhone 12.

In addition to the next iteration of AirPower, Apple is also said to be "internally investigating” a long-range wireless charging system. This system is said to work over great distances and is lily several years away from launch. Xiaomi has already developed a long-range wireless charger that truly charges a device without wires or contact with a Qi-charger. Apple’s solution could work in a similar fashion however nothing is known as of now since its still quite early to say.
    © Apple
Since AirPower’s cancellation, there have been plenty of rumours that Apple’s new charging mat could launch soon after. Bloomberg’s report is the clearest hint that we might see something similar to the AirPower charging mat and could come out in the near future.

Celebrated as the Pride month across the globe, the month of June has become integral for all members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Buoyed by massive, energetic and colourful marches through the city, Pride month is a celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community, while also a medium for raising awareness around the problems and issues they face.

Throughout history, the LGBTQIA+ community has been victims of systemic abuses. Fearing rebuke, exclusion and violence, many members of the community withdraw a significant part of their identity from society in an attempt to hide their experienced realities, often leading to various mental illnesses such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD.  Added to that, the stigma surrounding mental health and the supposedly taboo discussions around it, it is understandable how it can prevent an individual from the LGBTQIA+ community from seeking help.
In our society the importance of good mental health for an individual is often disregarded, regardless of one’s sexual orientation. However, the LGBTQIA+ community faces increased challenges when it comes to addressing these issues due to the systemic prejudice that exists. Here are three major impacts that this social stigma surrounding the LGBTQIA+ community has on the mental health of those people.
    Anxiety © Unsplash
In their youth, individuals of the LGBTQIA+ community were far more vulnerable to developing anxiety due to social stigma as they internalise feelings of shame for things which were normalised for all cis – heteronormative youngsters. This creates a sense of disparity and conflict of identity within the individual. It’s a well acknowledged phenomenon, especially in India, where struggles with being accepted in society leads to vast majority of the LGBTQIA+ community experience a loss of confidence in society, snowballing the impact of anxiety to much greater levels.  Several members of the LGBTQIA+ community also find themselves in extreme financial debt due to the stigma they face when looking for employment opportunities. Our indigenous hijra community have long been victims of this discrimination, leading to them being ostracised by society.  Coming out of the closet also presented a high risk of rejection by their families as well as society at large. Though, the cycle of conflict seems to be changing among the youth today, as they slowly find confidence and safety in owning their true identities.  Internalised stigma and discrimination contributes immensely to an increase in cases of anxiety among the LGBTQIA+ community.

    Depression © Unsplash
Depression often finds root in Individuals from the LGBTQIA+ community in their childhood due to the bullying, harassment and physical violence they face. From the school, to the playground to even their own homes, the LGBTQIA+ youth aren’t safe from the many forms of prejudice. Even in adulthood, individuals face consistent persecution on the basis of their identity.  Today still, non-heterosexual expressions of love are met with fierce resistance by the cis-het society at large. Institutionalised discrimination rarely allows an opportunity for mental health recovery within the LGBTQIA+ community.  The sheer frequency of these stigmatic experiences leads to a life severely impacted by depression as well as other health risks such as substance abuse, self-harm and risky sexual behaviours.

    PTSD © Unsplash
An unfortunately common experience faced by many among the LGBTQIA+ community is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD, where the affected can be triggered intensely due to past experiences of abuse from stigma and hate crimes. The stress experienced by the LGBTQIA+ community on a daily basis can range from discrimination at home, work or public places, to internal stressors such as the concealment of ones identity to keep themselves safe from any external triggers.  Individuals can develop various coping mechanism such as negative thoughts of self, hyper vigilance and hyper arousal. They become especially attuned to ‘reading a room’, especially public experiences. Anti LGBTQIA+ sentiments aggravate and complicate their recovery. PTSD often lasts for months or several years, often even lifetimes without proper care, healing and rehabilitation due to inaccessibility.

At the end of the day, we must acknowledge that we are unfortunately a far distance from attaining true equality. Everyone should have the right to love who they want and identify how they want, without fear of judgement or punishment. This is why the Pride Month radiates bright as the beacon of hope, equality and self-identity against shame and prejudice.

Think that Bigg Boss is the worst reality TV show ever made? Boy oh boy, are you in for a big surprise. Heck, it isn’t even the worst reality TV show in India.

    © Colours TV
Ever since we started getting reality TV shows of our own, we have had some good, shows like Kaun Banega Crorepati, some decently made shows such as Dance India Dance, and then, some really bad shows like MTV Roadies & Bigg Boss.

    © MTV
But, there are a few shows that are at the bottom of the barrel. These reality TV shows represent the worst of the worst qualities about Indian TV. Yes, these shows, were far worse than Bigg Boss itself. They either had really bad production, some bizarre episodes and rules, or were a bit too controversial for no good reason.

    © MTV
We take a look at 6 such shows that represent the worst that were on Indian television screens.

    Emotional Atyachar © Bindaas
The only good thing that has come from this show are the endless memes. The show started out with a good concept, of testing suspicious partners and finding out if they were faithful. However, soon enough you had some really bizarre stuff happening on the show, just to make things sensational. Heck, there episodes where partners bit each other, when they were angry.

    Superdude © Bindaas
This was proper garbage. This show was full of f*ckbois & emobois before they were a thing. The basic concept was teaching a group of guys how to impress women. And guess who was the teacher? Ashmit Patel. Who, Ashmit Patel, you ask? Exactly our point. Moreover, the “tricks” that they were being taught, and the tasks, all of them made the guys look like super douches, rather than super dudes.

Entertainment Ke Liye Aur Bhi Kuch Karega © Sony India
And yes, kuch bhi they did. The show was a headless chicken. Imagine America’s Got Talent, but shot on the sets of a cheap comedy show. There were a few good performers and participants, but most of them did not proceed anywhere. Seriously, this show was just a pain to sit through.

India's Raw Star © Star India
Long before Gully Boy came along there was this horror on Indian Television. And guess what, who was the judge of the show? Yo Yo Honey Singh. Basically, the aim of the show was to find the next rapper rockstar, if that is how you see Honey Singh. The show was a proper cringe-fest.

Is Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao © Sony India
Another show that was actually a copy of a British reality TV show, just like Bigg Boss, was this gem of a piece. The only reason that the show was on air was for the profanity-laced heated arguments between the contestants, the bizarre things they had to eat, and the fact that the makers decided to regularly show the women contestants bathing under a waterfall, on television. This seriously was a proper sleaze fest.

The Swayamvar Series © Colours TV
The worst show however of them all had to be the Swayamvar Series. These were our version of The Bachelor & The Bachelorette. In true Indian fashion, everything, and we mean everything about the different series were way over the top, and gaudy. Heck, the sets looked like they were made by low-budget wedding decorators at times. And guess who were the “celebrities” who were looking for their partners. Rakhi Sawant, Ratan Rajput, and Rahul Mahajan. Enough said.

    The bottom line…
Still think that Bigg Boss is the worst show on Indian television? Just do one thing then, pick any one of these shows here, do a quick google search and try and watch a few episodes. We bet that you will have the worst migraine of your life, that’s how bad they were.

KRK and Mika Singh have been in a war of words after the latter publicly extended his support to Salman Khan. It was previously revealed that Salman has filed a defamation case against KRK. According to Salman’s lawyers, they sent a defamation suit to him because he badmouthed about the actor and have been saying things that malign the Dabangg actor’s image. As Mika supported Salman, KRK took a dig at him on social media. KRK has described Mika as a 'chirkut singer' in multiple tweets.
Well, Mika too took the war to a different level as he revealed that his diss track against self-proclaimed critic Kamaal R Khan is already on its way. Taking to Twitter, Mika shared a video from his studio and said that the music for the song, titled #KRKKutta (Barking Dog) is ready and that he now has to write the lyrics. “Tere ghar ke saamne khada hoon, tune apne yeh bech diya hai. Ab tere jitne aur ghar hai, woh mat bechna kyunki meri tere se personally dushmani nahi hai. Mere se darr mat, main tereko maarunga nahi, peetunga nahi (I am standing outside your house but you seem to have sold it. After all, you are my padosi (I wanted to teach you a lesson but not such a big one that you sell your house and leave. After all, you are my neighbour),” he added.

In what is a very positive move towards gender neutrality, male teachers in Spain are being seen wearing skirts in schools in a bid to tackle the stereotypes surrounding gender in the country.

    © Twitter/borjamusico/joxepinas
It all started when a male student was expelled from a school for wearing a skirt last year.

As a result, many school teachers across the country decided to join the ‘Clothes Have No Gender movement’ (#laropanotienegenero), wherein they mix up their wardrobes to ditch their trousers for skirts.
Teachers Manuel Ortega and Borja Velazquez are the latest in line to join the movement after one of their students was picked on last month for wearing an anime t-shirt at the Virgen de Sacedon primary school in Valladolid.
    © Twitter/borjamusico
Recalling the incident, Manuel said he was horrified to see how badly the student was teased in the class, so much so that the boy ended up changing his outfit.

This surely turned Manuel's head for the good and he, along with his colleague Borja chose to wear a skirt throughout the month of May. Borja took to Twitter to post about it as well.
"A school that educates with respect, diversity, co-education and tolerance."

"Dress how you want! We join the campaign #clotheshavenogender." wrote Borja.
Jose Piñas is another teacher in the country who has been wearing a skirt to school since last year.
The teacher had earlier shared on Twitter how he had 'suffered persecution' as a result of his sexual orientation.
Posting a photo of himself wearing a skirt, he tweeted,
"20 years ago I suffered persecution and insults for my sexual orientation in the institute where I am now a teacher."
"Many teachers, they looked the other way."
"I want to join the cause of the student, who has been expelled and sent to the psychologist for going to class with a skirt."

    — Jose Piñas (@joxepinas) November 9, 2020
While the idea of “promoting tolerance” may not have gone down well with some sections of the society, the move of the teachers has been lauded by parents of students.

    "Congratulations on your attitude."
"High schools are sometimes very hard for students, you have to know how to be aware of it and position yourself without nuances to guarantee yourself safety from attacks." one parent said.

Social media is a place where one can find fame and recognition overnight. It takes a humble photo or video that takes the internet by storm to put you on the map. We have seen a lot of real people getting instant popularity either for their art, skills or beauty.
Remember Arshad Khan from Pakistan? The tea vendor became the talk of the town for his exceptional looks when a photographer posted his photo. People couldn't make out from the picture if it was a common man selling tea or a model posing as a tea seller.
