Most of us have grown up watching Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smackdown on WWE to witness our favorite wrestlers like John Cena, Edge, The Undertaker, Triple H, The Hardy Brothers, and co give signature moves to each other to win titles.

Now, if you are a fan watching from India, you are definitely familiar with a certain Indian wrestler who went on to take giant, really giant (quite literally) steps in the WWE ring in the US against top wrestlers. We are talking about The Great Khali AKA Dalip Singh Rana.

    © WWE
The 7 foot 1-inch tall wrestler was one of the first Indian wrestlers to make a name for himself in the WWE, and while much of his on-show personality during his 8-year-stint, was that of a dominant, power-hungry villainous giant, he is known to be quite a nice guy in real life.

The gentle giant, who now runs his own wrestling school in his native state of Punjab, is much loved by fans in the country, who often see him post pictures and videos on his Instagram profile.

Now, what has been a hilarious trend among his fans is that they put all kinds of funny and bizarre requests for The Great Khali.

Ranging from "Sir Mujhe maar-maar ke kutta banado" to "Sir Jump Karke Earth Ka Orbit Badal Do", the requests are absolutely hilarious and are destined to make you feel lighter during this grim pandemic period.
If you ever feel sad, visit Khali's Instagram page. The comments would make your day!

Sony unveiled its upcoming blockbuster title Horizon Forbidden West’s gameplay today and we got to see quite a bit of new features in the 14-minute video. While a firm release date wasn’t revealed for the game, it was confirmed that the game will be coming for both the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 5. Having said that, the gameplay footage was captured on the PlayStation 5 and we learned new things about Aloy’s next adventure.
    Story
    © Guerrilla Games-
The game picks up six months after the events of the first instalment in the franchise and shows Aloy traversing a very different environment. That’s because this time Aloy is in the dystopian region of San Francisco with the Golden Gate Bridge prevalent in the background. She’s travelled west to investigate "mysterious and deadly blight. Aloy also discovers a new artefact that shows a map of coming storms.

    Gameplay
    © Guerrilla Games-
In the gameplay footage, we see Aloy combat different types of enemies with a new set of tools and weapons. The first tool we get to see is a “Pullcaster” that allows Aloy to speedily climb walls and escape from danger. We also see a glider similar to what you may have seen in Zelda Breath of The Wild. This glider can also be used as a way to surprise enemies from above.

Aloy can also now dive into the water for as long as she wants to, thanks to a new Diving Mask. It seems like underwater gameplay will play a major role in the entirety of the game which was not there in Zero Dawn.
    New Enemies and Weapons
We also got to see new weapons that Aloy will be able to use on different types of enemies. For starters, her spear can now use special abilities and has new combos for a more fluid combat style. In the gameplay footage, we saw Aloy using a special ability called ‘Valor Surges’ that knocks back enemies with a powerful strike.
    © Guerrilla Games-
Aloy also has access to a new slingshot that dispels adhesive grenades to slow down enemies temporarily. Aloy can also use smoke bombs to get out of sticky situations and pick up weapons that were dropped by machines. We also got to see new enemy types such as the Tremortusks, raptor-like Clawstriders, alligator-like Snapmaws and pterodactyl-like Sunwing

Siddharth, born Siddharth Suryanarayan, created a niche for himself in the Tamil cinema before making an appearance in Rang De Basanti in 2006 that introduced him to people who follow Bollywood.
Currently, the actor has been in the news for his tweets and despite all the backlash he receives, he continues to be vocal about many issues especially when it comes to critiquing the government's handling of the COVID 19 vaccination drive.
He tweeted, “Should corporates in India be allowed to mass vaccinate their employees? Currently, corporate vaccination drives are being disallowed by the Government. Make big corporates responsible and use their abilities to achieve faster vaccination.”
    © Twitter/Siddharth
However, as soon as his tweet went viral, people asked him to be more aware as the corporates have been undertaking vaccination drives.

One of the Twitter users wrote, “Vaccination drives from corporates are already taking place and are going to increase from the first week of June. Where does it say it is disallowed by the Govt?”

Replying to the tweet, the actor said, “Spoke personally to several companies that have requested complete responsibility of their employees. They have been told that they will be informed how many people they can vaccinate and when by the Government. They are waiting for vaccine allotment by quota.”
    © Twitter/Siddharth
The actor also added, “Corporates and states willing to buy vaccines directly are unable to. Why? Meanwhile, some states are reporting existing stocks going unused. Why? Is there a need for new official mass communication regarding the vaccine? At this rate when will India be reasonably vaccinated?”

    © Twitter/Siddharth
The responses to his tweets ranged from some suggesting it to be a failure of the central government to those who supported his suggestions.

The actor was earlier in the news after he claimed that the Tamil Nadu IT cell of BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) leaked his phone number online, adding that he received death and rape threats after his phone number was circulated among people.

Now, after Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh is planning to legalize the cultivation of cannabis in the state. Announcing the state budget last week, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Jai Ram Thakur said that the state government is coming up with a policy to allow controlled cultivation of cannabis in the state.
Many people argue that this has nothing to do with the regular consumption of cannabis but the state wants to legalize the commercial cultivation of cannabis for non-creational uses. Industrial hemp is a variety of Cannabis sativa plant species that is grown for industrial use to make various products.

In some parts of Himachal,  industrial hemp has been traditionally used to make new footwear, ropes, mats, food items, etc.

Jai Ram Thakur said, “Earlier they used to consume a dish prepared from cannabis during winter to keep themselves warm and energetic. Himachal produces top-quality cannabis, the seeds of the plant can be used to make paint, biofuel, and ink. The prospect of a flourishing hemp industry, which can boost the state economically, has prompted Himachal to go for hemp cultivation.”
In the year 2020, India voted in favor of removing cannabis and cannabis resin from the list of most dangerous substances.
The UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs voted to remove cannabis from Schedule IV of the 1961 Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs where it was listed alongside deadly, addictive opioids, including heroin.

The decision to allow the cultivation of cannabis comes to overcome pandemic-induced unemployment and limited resources of income.

COVID-19 hit the primary sector mining, slowed down manufacturing and transportation, and has badly impacted tourism in the tertiary sector.
Tourism, which contributes 7% to the state gross domestic product (GDP), is the mainstay of livelihood but it took a massive hit with tourist inflow down 76% last year as compared to a decade ago.

Huma Qureshi-starrer political drama Maharani is now streaming on SonyLiv and people who have been waiting for the show can finally enjoy watching it on the OTT platform.
In the show, Huma plays the titular role of an uneducated woman, the wife of a former chief minister played by Sohum Shah, who is forced to take up the responsibilities of the CM's post against her wishes. Both the actors have undergone massive transformation and makeover for the series.
    Here’s the trailer:

Qureshi's character is shown taking upon the system and patriarchy. Talking about the character, Huma had told Firstpost, “I told Subhash sir that this was the role of the lifetime for any actor and I would be very foolish to let it go. But playing Rani Bharati was a tricky one. The big challenge was about getting into that world. It’s easy to play a character who knows things but it is difficult when you have to portray something that you do not know."
"The knowledge, wisdom…reflects in the eyes and expressions. I was worried, nervous, everybody in the team was nervous. The challenge was how to become Rani Bharati and get people to connect with her. I took a lot of help from the director, creator, writers, cast, and crew...they empowered me to embody Rani and that was so much fun and interesting,” she added.
People who are watching the show are loving the Sohum, Huma, and all the cast members. Here’s how they reacted:

Gandhi said that his Congress party had already warned PM Modi about the virus and against calling for an early victory against it, and how vaccination was the only move forward.

"We had warned the Government of India about COVID-19 repeatedly. Later, PM Modi had expressed India's victory against COVID-19. This is an evolving disease. Lockdowns and wearing of masks is a temporary solution but vaccine is a permanent solution to COVID," said Gandhi.

Keeping in mind the status, Gandhi said that PM Modi's government failed in grasping the nature of the deadly Covid-19 virus and criticized how the vaccination program has "exposed 97 percent of the population" of the country.

Govt not understanding the nature of what they're fighting. Understand the dangers of mutation of this virus. You're creating a liability for the whole planet. Why? While adding that the government lacked a vaccination strategy, Gandhi called PM Modi an "event manager" who "doesn't think strategically".

The Indian Government slammed Twitter’s statement as "baseless and false” and alleged intimidation by police over the 'manipulated media' tags incident. Twitter went on to say that the new rules are a threat to freedom of expression while the IT ministry called Twitter’s stance an attempt to dictate terms to the world’s largest democracy.
    © Reuters
The ministry also reassured that the employees and representatives of the micro-blogging platform "are and will always remain safe in India," and that there is "no threat to their personal safety and security.”

The ministry also added "protecting free speech in India is not the prerogative of only a private, for-profit, foreign entity like Twitter, but it is the commitment of the world's largest democracy and its robust institutions," it said.
Twitter has also been accused by the ministry that through its deliberate defiance, the company is seeking to undermine India’s legal system.  If you are wondering what exactly Twitter’s representatives said, here’s the full statement:
"Twitter is deeply committed to the people of India. Our service has proven vital for public conversation and a source of support for people during the pandemic. To keep our service available, we will strive to comply with applicable law in India. But, just as we do around the world, we will continue to be strictly guided by principles of transparency, a commitment to empowering every voice on the service, and protecting freedom of expression and privacy under the rule of law," a Twitter spokesperson said.
The spokesperson went on to add, “Right now, we are concerned by recent events regarding our employees in India and the potential threat to freedom of expression for the people we serve. We, alongside many in civil society in India and around the world, have concerns with regards to the use of intimidation tactics by the police in response to enforcement of our global Terms of Service, as well as with core elements of the new IT Rules”
"We plan to advocate for changes to elements of these regulations that inhibit free, open public conversation. We will continue our constructive dialogue with the Indian Government and believe it is critical to adopt a collaborative approach. It is the collective responsibility of elected officials, industry, and civil society to safeguard the interests of the public," the spokesperson added.

The ministry pointed out that Twitter delays in taking action when ordered to block offensive and provocative content on the platform. The Indian government says that provocative content could impact public law and order. The ministry also pointed out that Twitter had been quick to act on similar instances during violence at US Capitol Hill.

A 50-year-old man from Madurai recently made headlines, when a video of him, chewing on a dead snake went viral.
The man has since been arrested and fined by the local forest department.
    © iStock
The man has been identified as Vadivelu, a resident of Perumapatti, Tamil Nadu, who is an agriculture worker.

The man faces a possible jail term of 6 months and has been fined Rs 7,000.
    © ANI
In the video that has now gone viral, the man claims that certain Indian snakes are great antidotes for COVID-19. He also claimed that he has consumed snakes to protect himself again the virus.

    © iStock
The local district forest officer, S Anand, ordered his team to locate and nab Vadivelu from Perumapatti, as per a report by The Times Of India.

It was then revealed that the man was drunk at the time of the incident and that he was compelled by a few of the local men to eat the snake.
The report quoted Anand, who said “The snake was already dead when he picked it up. Vadivelu was lucky that he did not bite into the venom sack or the gland of the snake. The snake was identified as a common krait, which is actually quite poisonous. The common krait’s venom is known to paralyse a human being if the volume of the venom is little.”
    © iStock
This is not the only instance when something this bizarre has taken place.

Earlier this month, a man in Kolar, Karnataka, bit a snake into pieces, after the snake “blocked his path.” The snake in that instance was a much deadlier viper.
Coming back to this incident from Madurai, the incident went viral after it was picked up by a local news channel, which also aired a part of the video that was making the round on social media.
Be warned, this is a graphic video:

As seen in the video, the man clearly seems to be inebriated. The local forest officials are investigating the matter, and are looking for the people who cajoled the man into committing this act.
This is the second incident this week, which again brings into question the lax rules and regulations we have against people charged with animal cruelty.
We seriously need better and more stringent laws against animal cruelty. Also more awareness about Covid and the related vaccines.

Sneha Ullal was launched alongside Salman Khan in the film Lucky No Time For Love in 2006. However, since Aishwarya was Salman Khan’s ex-girlfriend, Bhai's fans noticed the resemblance immediately.

Sneha had also told Hindustan Times in an interview after her debut, “I am a big admirer of Aishwarya Rai for her work and achievements in the film industry but to be very honest I am not really happy being compared to her for my looks. I want to have my own individuality. What can I do if I look like her? I don’t want to be so but can’t change my looks now. I love to be known and recognized for my own work and achievements."

Sneha also expressed that she had met Aishwarya once. She said, “I have met her once at a function and she met me with all respect and warmth. I liked it very much. To be true, in the beginning, I wanted to avoid her but then I changed my mind and went and said ‘Hi’ ‘to her.”
She also said that the comparisons were only made because of Salman Khan, “I really think those comparisons have been unfair to me professionally. If I hadn’t made my debut in Lucky, it would have been all okay. I was compared to Aishwarya Rai.. only because of Salman Khan.”
