It's almost exhausting to jot down the list of issues that continue to pile up and divide opinions in our country at the moment.

Whether it is the shortage of vaccines needed to control the Covid situation or the Indian government's recent row with Twitter over the new guidelines for social media platforms in the country, things certainly aren't getting any easier.
© iStock
Having said that, on Thursday (May 27), former NDTV journalist Nidhi Razdan took to Twitter to issue a tweet criticizing the Indian government's stance on the vaccine situation as well as its fight with Twitter.
© OPIndia
The 44-year-old Indian journalist and TV personality said in her tweet, "The country desperately needs vaccines to save lives. But the GOI is busy fighting with Twitter."
The country desperately needs vaccines to save lives. But the GOI is busy fighting with Twitter.
— Nidhi Razdan (@Nidhi) May 27, 2021
It is truly not news that India lacks the number of vaccines to cater to its 139 crore population. With the current production of Covishield and Covaxin not sufficient, the government is already planning to roll out Russia's Sputnik V from the second week of June and has also held positive talks with Pfizer to bring in more vaccines.
© iStock
However, the truth remains that the disastrous second wave of Covid-19 infections severely exposed the country's need for more vaccines, with experts urging the country to bolster the vaccination program to avoid or at least contain the third wave.
Now, it appears that Nidhi Razdan's Tweet to the government was meant to instill just that, however, it is her second part of the tweet about the government's row with Twitter that got people confused.
People replied to her post pointing out her mistake of confusing the responsibilities of India's health ministry with the IT ministry.
Mam, with due respect, i want to tell you that there is a difference between IT Ministry and Health ministry. A person must have knowledge of such basic difference else he/she can land up in imaginary Harvard University created some Lakirchand ka Fakirchand.
Thanks..!!
— Prateek Johar (@JoharPrateek) May 27, 2021Miss Harvard, The Ministry of Information Technology does not make vaccines, the Ministry of Health makes it. So let them do their work.

— Dilpreet Kaur (@KaurDils) May 27, 2021So, Modi, Amit etc should go to the lab and start cooking the vaccines??
— Syntax Error (@SyntaxErrorism) May 27, 2021Dear Harvard professor, Delhi Police and Ravi Shankar Prasad are not doctors. Unhe to apna kaam karne De 🤣
— KR!T!KA (@Kritikashah_7) May 27, 2021Country is fighting hard inspite of sudden surge, limited resources and winning battle against Covid and ensuring vaccination but some disgruntled and agenda driven media / journalists are busy fighting Modi ...
— S S Singh (@Singh2639) May 27, 2021Twitter tagged a post with “manipulated media”, it is therefore logical to ask them what information they had to reach that conclusion. In a pandemic, govt isn’t obliged to give a free run to everyone 🤷🏻♀️ Also, IT ministry doesn’t make vaccine decisions.
— नम्रता (@_Namrataa) May 27, 2021By this logic, Defence Ministry, Agriculture Ministry, Ministry of Environment, Food, Education, Law, Transport and every other ministry must quit what they are doing right now and focus on only vaccines.
Isiliye Harvard walon ne beizzati karke bhaga diya tha 🤦🏻♂️
— इन्द्र दमन तिवारी (@DamanIndra) May 27, 2021if companies are not manufacturing what can any Government do.. it's not like cooking food.

Michael Vaughan usually happens to be at the receiving end of the practice of blocking people of social media - check out what Sanjay Manjrekar did to him during the ‘Bits and Piece’ controversy - the Englishman recently revealed that he wants to do the same to former Indian batsman, Ranji Trophy legend and the freshest troll master of India - Wasim Jaffer.
To be fair to Vaughan, he was led into answering this question. In the middle of a series of rapid fire questions posed in front of him by Crictracker, the interviewer asked “which former or current cricketer you’d like to block on social media?” and he quickly took Jaffer’s name.
What say @WasimJaffer14?
Watch the full interview with Michael Vaughan on 28th May at 6:00 PM IST on CricTracker's social media channels.

— CricTracker (@Cricketracker) May 27, 2021
Now, unless you are living under a rock, you already know that Jaffer remains one of the most interesting personalities online and enjoys a massive following of fans who love him as much as they do the game of cricket.
So when he found out that someone like Vaughan wanted to block him, the 43-year old couldn’t help but respond to it.
Me and my friends after knowing @MichaelVaughan wants to block me https://t.co/eDKct3Uc8a pic.twitter.com/Dtk5XOXt64
— Wasim Jaffer (@WasimJaffer14) May 27, 2021
“Me and my friends after knowing @MichaelVaughan wants to block me,” Jaffer offered a sarcastic response, only to have fans join him in his fun.

— Lagbhag Raaz (@i_Raaaz) May 27, 2021
But when a person carries an ego as big as Vaughan’s, it is almost impossible to not start a war of words, and that’s exactly what Vaughan did shortly after liking Jaffer’s post.
I would never do that Wasim ... No player that got out to my filthy off spin will ever be blocked ... # https://t.co/CfkKk670pt
— Michael Vaughan (@MichaelVaughan) May 27, 2021
“I would never do that Wasim ... No player that got out to my filthy off spin will ever be blocked,” the former England captain said while reliving the moment he had dismissed the Indian batter during a red-ball match back in 2002.
The online rivalry between the two has been going on for a while now. Back when England were touring India for a series in all three formats of the game and were defeated by the Men in Blue, Vaughan tried highlighting the fact that there were four players in the Indian Playing XI, who belonged to the Mumbai Indians franchise of the Indian Premier League.
Just a thought ... @surya_14kumar Mumbai Indian ... @hardikpandya7 Mumbai Indian ... @ImRo45 captaincy Mumbai Indian !!!! @mipaltan #JustSaying #INDvENG
— Michael Vaughan (@MichaelVaughan) March 18, 2021
Jaffer however had a completely different interpretation of this tweet. Instead, he highlighted how the fact that the England squad lost the match to a league franchise team wasn’t something to brag about.
When you say your team wasn't defeated by a national team but by a franchise team, you're not trolling your opponents, you're trolling your own team. Night all. #INDvsENG

Most of us have grown up listening and grooving to Shah Rukh Khan’s songs from the 90s and early 2000s. These songs still hit the right chords with us and give us major nostalgic feels.
However, some iconic Hindi songs from that era are just as popular around the world as in India, and we often do not realise it.

It’s only through social media that we get to know that the craze for Bollywood music goes way beyond the border.
Remember Indonesian dancers’ frame-to-frame recreation of Bole Chudiyan from K3G? This time the love for Indian melodies has come all the way from China.
A Chinese girl performed a song from another one of SRK’s movie, Mohabbatein on a talent show and desi Twitter was left mega impressed.
© YouTube
She sang ‘Aankhein Khuli Ho Ya Ho Band’ which has been originally sung by Lata Mangeshkar and people on Twitter couldn’t help but notice that her voice was, in fact, quite similar to that of the legendary singer.
Chinese Revenge - they are doing to our songs what we did to their food. pic.twitter.com/UXWPm3Uf7j
— Kaveri 🇮🇳 (@ikaveri) May 27, 2021 A user wrote, “Very Lata Mangeshkar like voice.” Another wrote, I like Chinese Lataji...little strange but not bad.” A user also commented, “But this is how Lata Mangeshkar actually does sound. so she really did imitate her. Other people also loved her rendition of the song and appreciated the effort.
This is awesome. Cant imagine how difficult it would have been for her to adopt pronunciation and sing it to the tune. Loved it

— raj🇮🇳 (@RajeshPunia) May 27, 2021 The video is going viral on social media.
It was shared on Twitter yesterday and the post has already garnered 4.9k likes and has more than 1k retweets.
The comment section is wholesome, where Desi Twitter users are lauding her version of the song.

Whether she sounded like Lata ji or not, we are sure even the veteran singer would be impressed by her amazing effort. What do you think?

Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragic demise left everyone baffled and clueless about what happened on the unfortunate day of June 14, 2020. The drug angle came into the picture soon after and the Narcotics Control Bureau stepped in to conduct their investigation of the case.
In a recent turn of events, NCB has arrested the actor’s flatmate Siddharth Pithani nearly a year after his death.
© ANI
Pithani has been arrested from Hyderabad by the investigating agency. Sameer Wankhede, who is in charge of Mumbai Zonal Unit, NCB, confirmed to ETimes, "Siddharth Pithani has been arrested and he will be shortly produced in court."
View this post on Instagram
People have been doubting Siddharth from day 1 and have been wanting to know the truth as he was among the four people present at Sushant’s home at the time of the actor’s death. He has been on the radar ever since he gave contradictory statements. He had told Republic that he was giving the medications but had no idea about the actor’s condition. He went on to say that he had no idea if there was a prescription. Earlier, Siddharth had claimed that he knew Rhea Chakraborty but later on, he denied knowing her personally.
All these statements made people suspect him and now that he has been arrested by NCB, people are relieved that there has been some development in the investigation.

Around two and half months ago, the NCB had filed a 12,000-page charge sheet against 33 people in the Bollywood narco-abuse probe case linked to Rajput's death.
In September last year, NCB had arrested the actor’s girlfriend Rhea and her brother Shovik Chakraborty in the drug case.
Well, we hope that the truth is revealed and people who are affected by the death of the star can take a sigh of relief.

Recently, yoga guru Baba Ramdev called allopathy a ‘stupid science’. Yes, he got a lot of flak on social media for saying all this. Later, the Indian Medical Association sent a legal notice to Baba Ramdev over his alleged statements and defaming scientific medicines.
However, this doesn’t stop Baba Ramdev saying more controversial things. Now, another video of him has now surfaced on the internet in which he said, “even their baap (father) cannot arrest Swami Ramdev".
He said in a video, “They are just making a noise. They keep creating trends like Thug Ramdev, Mahathug Ramdev, Giraftar Ramdev, and so on.”
This happened after #ArrestBabaRamDev started trending on Twitter.
He also said, "Arrest to khair unka baap bhi nahin kar sakta Swami Ramdev ko (even their father cannot arrest Swami Ramdev).”
Check out the video here-
Arrest to unka baap bhi nahi kar sakta ?

Ramdev, was largely criticized for a video that surfaced over the weekend that said that more people died of medical treatments during the Covid-19 crisis than the deadly Coronavirus.
He said in a video, “It is shocking that Remdesvir failed, steroids failed and now plasma therapy has also been banned. The medicines doctors are giving patients for getting the fever down such as Fabiflu is not doing any good to them.”
However, the comments made by the yoga guru triggered an outcry from doctors across the country, and Ramdev was forced to take his statements back. However, Ramdev has shown little remorse for what he said since then on TV debated and public platforms.

— Subhasree Ray (@DrSubhasree) May 21, 2021
The Indian Medical Association (IMA), which represents around 3.5 lakh doctors had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding that Ramdev should be charged immediately for spreading misinformation campaign on Coronavirus vaccination and challenging government protocols for the treatment.
Many Medical bodies of doctors have also served a defamation notice for Ramdev for his remarks against allopathy and allopathic practitioners, demanding an apology from him, failing to fulfill they said it will demand compensation of ₹ 1,000 crores from the yoga guru.

From the first moment fans saw Matthew Perry enter the classic Friends set and started speaking, fans knew that something was a bit ‘off’ about his speech. The concerns began to rise from way before the actual show came out.
While doing a promo for the reunion, while Perry was talking about how it felt getting back in a room with the other five leading members of the iconic show, he had a little bit of slur to his voice.
Also, while the rest of the case seemed in tune with the interview, interacting with each other and keeping themselves up-tempo, the actor who played the role of the beloved Chandler, seemed a bit drowsy, staring into empty space.
When the reunion was aired, that feeling of worry towards Perry amplified all across social media.
Is Matthew Perry all right? Worried about his health.
And reunion did bring back lots of memories. #FriendsTheReunion
— Animesh (@Grad_Std) May 28, 2021Two things I learned from the #FriendsReunion :
1. There should be a hotline to help those with plastic surgery addictions.
2. There should be a hotline to help Matthew Perry.#pivot #HBOMax #SmellyCat
— Jef Shaffer (@jefgoestweet) May 28, 2021I thought Matthew Perry looked ill.
— Tracy Tromans (@sootysoo) May 28, 2021@MatthewPerry hey.
It feels weird to write to you like this but im sure many like me are worried about your health. Are you okay? (I really dont know how else to ask you this )#FriendsReunion
— Sandarsh Jain (@sandarshjain) May 27, 2021Perry has been incredibly courageous in talking about his problems with drug addiction and how he had to surrender himself to the fact that he, in fact, needed help. He had also talked about how he simply doesn’t even remember shooting three of the seasons of the show because of how big of an issue he was going through at the time.
Therefore, the first thing fans started to asking around was about the possibility of such drug-related problems and his mental health.
Matthew Perry struggled with drug addiction for long time. The drug abuse led to mental and physical deterioration. Despite being the youngest of them, he looks the oldest.
— Harry (@harrixon3d) May 28, 2021I'm assuming that is a reference to Matthew Perry. All the years of drug abuse really caught up to him. It's kinda sad.
— Heather Kopperman (@Heatherlv86) May 28, 2021I actually thought it was going to be an episode... Not a reunion special. So I was disappointed by that. I know Matthew Perry had a lot of struggles with drugs and such. That's heartbreaking
— Leesah (@pumpkindino) May 28, 2021However, the real reason for his slur during the show, according to an insider, was a lot less complicated and worrisome.
In a conversation with The Sun the source said: "Matthew turned up at the reunion and members of his team said he had an emergency tooth procedure that day. This was said to impact his wellbeing and also how he was feeling.”
View this post on Instagram
"Obviously no one wants to film after a procedure, but it happened. The feeling was one of huge sympathy for Matthew, especially in recent days, given how people reacted online… Matthew has told those around him that he is sober, and there is no need to worry," they added.
Perry also touched up how, as a comedian and a performer, he had become obsessed with how the audience reacted to his performance and how it was difficult for him to keep up whenever he did not get a desired response from the live crowd present at the set of the show at the time of shooting.
You cannot not see the pain in Matthew Perry's face during the reunion, but it didn't stop him to be there.
When he said how frustrating it was when the audience didn't laugh, and when he said he needed the laugh.
He's clearly been through a lot, physically & mentally pic.twitter.com/ljkfNMuOlc
— Sunshine (@mioridina) May 28, 2021
To me, I felt like I was going to die if they didn't laugh," he said. "And it's not healthy, for sure. But I would sometimes say a line and they wouldn't laugh and I would sweat and just go into convulsions. If I didn't get the laugh I was supposed to get, I would freak out."
"You didn't tell us that, though," remarked Lisa Kudrow, 57. "I don't remember you ever saying that."
"Oh, yeah," Perry said. "I felt like that every single night."

The Advertising Standards Council of India or ASCI has made it mandatory for influencers to label all of their promotional content as such, whether they have received monetary benefits, or have received goods in barter.
© iStock
“Influencer marketing” in India has been very unregulated, especially more so when the talent isn’t being managed by a professional company.
As a result, several influencers have indulged in practices that can only be labelled as dubious.
© iStock
People, in general, have had a problem with the manner in which some influencers have been conducting their businesses of late.
Just this month, an investigative report went viral, which exposed that a few social media influencers were actually charging money to amplify SOS requests that they were getting from their followers.
Even if we ignore an incident such as this, there are clearly some questionable practices that brands and influencers often indulge in.
Very often, social media influencers speak about products or services, in a manner that would imply that they genuinely use them.
In the minds of their followers, this creates an impression that the product must actually be good, given a trusted voice is recommending it.
© iStock
There is also the fact that as opposed to your regular advertisements, social media is full of short-lived posts with making it more difficult to track.
On top of that, social media posts have a higher targeted reach as opposed to your regular adverts, which in turn means, that the intended audience may have seen the content in as little as half an hour.
© iStock
The new guidelines have made it for an influencer to clearly specify whether a post is an ad, sponsored content, collaboration, or partnership, etc.
This should bring clarity to consumers, and protect them against any misleading communication in social media.
Going forth, influencers also have to verify the claims that they make while advertising a product. Up until now, no such provision was in place.
In case an influencer puts up a post, which contains some misleading information, and if it can be proven that the post is indeed an advertisement, the influencer, in this case, will be liable to pay a fine of Rs 10 lakh for the first offence.
For repeat violators, the fine is Rs 50 Lakhs. This is possible because of the Consumers Protection Act.
For people on Twitter, this is a welcome move, one which has been received with a lot of enthusiasm.
With great influence, comes great responsibility. Here's coverage of our latest Influencer Advertising Guidelines launch, examining the need for such rules for social media.#ASCIResponsibleInfluencers #ASCI #bigbangsocialhttps://t.co/GKbbjtLD9L
— ASCI (@ascionline May 28, 2021 © iStock
If that is so almost all @IndiaToday should be marked as promotional PR for Modi and Yogi including their stupid Nonsense "So Sorry" cartoon which is nothing but open show of how much low a channel can go in bootlicking Modi. @sardesairajdeep. BJP Now, Jumla Republic is another.
— SN (@sach_n01 May 28, 2021Good start. Gr8 to see a codified system of disclosure being implemented. Scope to plug the gap where no material connection between advertiser and influencers is evident, yet passively exists.
— Dhiraj Chadha (@dhincha May 27, 2021Very interesting read! Have always said: don’t invest in any asset based on tweets or IG posts.
in Europe it’s mandatory to mention it’s an ‘ad’ while influencers produce content.
In India influencers are told to do it so subtly that it doesn’t look like an ad. https://t.co/PO4noNIWkx

While most of us happily skipped the planks and leg-days during much of the lockdowns, it looks like our much loved Asgardian Of The Galaxy, Chris Hemsworth, has been hitting the gym hard for Marvel's next installment of the Thor series.

Well, he obviously had to, right? Considering if he really wanted to shed that beer belly from the Avengers: Endgame.

No, no. That was just a bodysuit that the Australian actor had put on to fit with the rest of us (Just Kidding).
We all know that Chris takes his workouts very seriously, and well, to play the God of Thunder, one really does need a physique that is unlike any other.

According to the most recently leaked pictures from the sets of the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, Hemsworth is all jacked up to show that he is indeed worthy of leading Asgardians as well as the Guardians of the Galaxy (Yeah, sorry Mr. Star-Lord).

The photos were taken from the Centennial Park in Sydney, Australia, where Marvel Studios are apparently shooting for the project. The leaked pictures should surely get fans excited for the upcoming Thor film, which will see the return of Natalie Portman as Jane Foster along with the introduction of Christian Bale as well.

Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder will surely be a film all fans can't wait to watch when it comes out next year.

Sony is all set to bring its top IPs to the mobile platform, starting from next year, according to a presentation by the company to its investors this week. Mobile gaming has seen phenomenal growth in countries like India where not everyone can afford to get a console. This could be great news for mobile gamers who have been looking to experience console games on their smartphones.
© PlayStation
Sony’s PlayStation boss Jim Ryan said during the Investor Relation Day event, “2021 will also see us take steps to bring PlayStation IP to mobile, with the opportunity to dramatically increase audience sizes that this brings.”
© Sony Santa Monica
“In FY21 we will begin to publish some of our iconic PlayStation IP on mobile and we anticipate that in 2021, that will not provide a significant profit flow, but we do anticipate that as we learn from that experience, and as we increase the number of titles that we publish on mobile, the contribution from both PC and mobile will start to become steadily more important as time passes,” he added.
© PlayStation
It’s not clear which games PlayStation will be releasing on the mobile platform, however many speculate it could be from franchises like Uncharted, God of War, The Last of Us, Spiderman amongst many more. It is also unclear what type of games these will be and how they will run as PlayStation could go the Nintendo route and publish standalone games similar to Mario Run, Mario Kart Tour, and Animal Crossing Pocket Camp.
© PlayStation
It could also be possible that Sony may introduce these games to mobile gamers via cloud streaming similar to Microsoft’s xCloud and Google’s Stadia platform. It would be interesting to see what PlayStation comes up with in the coming year.
Would you play PlayStation games on your mobile? What do you think about Sony bringing some of its most popular IPs to the mobile platform? Let us know in the comments below.

Todd Phillips’ Joker has to be one of the best movies to have been made in the last decade.

Now, a report by The Hollywood Reporter says that a sequel to Joker is all but confirmed.

Right after the Joker was released in 2019, one of the producers of the movie put out a statement that a sequel was certainly going to be made, only to then retract the statement without giving any explanation.

Now, according to several reports, Todd Phillips, who gave us one of the most unique, and relatable Jokers ever, has come on board to write the story and the script for the sequel.

In an interview with Los Angeles Times, both Todd Phillips & Joaquin Phoenix have said that they would be more than happy to work on the sequel.
Phillips said that the next Joker film, if he was the one helming it, couldn’t be just about Joker’s criminal activities, and his life as the harbinger of chaos. It had to be on the similar thematic lines as the original film, and in the light that showed how the modern society was responsible for Joker.

Phoenix, in a separate interview, said that they had started discussing the possibility of a sequel long before the original film was released in 2019, and long before its commercial success and the accolades it won.
This happened because both, Phillips and Phoenix believed that there’s so much more to explore.

Phoenix also added that he wouldn’t do another movie on Joker, just because the first one was successful, as the sequel has to have its own substance.
Given Phillips’ calibre as a director, and Phoenix’s excitement towards Joker, we can safely bet that Joaquin will reprise the role.
Meanwhile, fans can’t seem to keep their excitement in check. While a few of them agree that a sequel was not necessarily needed, they would still go out and watch the film, on the first day of its release.
Todd Phillips has reportedly signed on to co-write ‘Joker 2’

Radhe: Your Wanted Bhai recently released on an OTT platform and the Salman Khan-starrer received mixed reactions.
While some enjoyed watching the action and drama, others simply could not digest it and called it a typical 'Bhai' movie.
Now, legendary film producer and screenwriter, Salim Khan, who is also Salman's father, said in an interview that he didn't like his son's movie, Radhe.

While Salim didn't like Radhe, he had a word about Salman's other movies. He said “The film prior to this Dabangg 3 was different. Bajrangi Bhaijaan was good and totally different,” he said in the same interview."

Salman Khan and Kamaal R Khan are at loggerheads now and none of them is ready to bow down. A few days back, KRK took to Twitter to say that Salman had filed a defamation case against him for reviewing Radhe. KRK went on to say that he won’t review any of Salman's movies but he has taken a u-turn now. In his latest tweets, he has said that will keep reviewing the actor's movies even if he touched his feet.
KRK wrote, “Normally I don’t review the film if producer-director or actor of the film asks me to not review it. But now, if this man will request me, or even touch my feet also, still I will review his every film and each song. Satyamev Jayate! Jai Hind!”

He also gave it back to the DSK Legal, Salman Khan’s legal team for spreading lies that he didn’t send the defamation suit because of Radhe review. He shared the copy of the petition and tweeted, “It’s the starting portion of petition & you can see that No.1 is #Radhe’s trailer and No.2 is Radhe‘s review. Means the case is about #Radhe’s reviews videos. Means it’s all about Radhe! All other things are to support the case to make it strong. Means #DSK are good liars.”
He also added, “I can’t Believe the DSK are so bad lawyers that they can’t defend their case in the media also forget the court. Ye case Ladne Se Pehle hi Khud Ba Khud Haar Maan Lete Hain. Means they are fooling their clients.”

Salman’s legal team had earlier issued a statement saying that the said case has nothing to do with the review of the film. The full statement from DSK Legal, Salman Khan’s legal team, reads, “Mr. Kamaal R Khan, the Defendant, has put out a series of tweets and videos alleging that Mr. Salman Khan has sued him for defamation because the Defendant reviewed the film, Radhe. This is incorrect.”
“The suit has been filed as the Defendant has been publishing and endorsing defamatory allegations, including that Mr. Salman Khan is corrupt, that he and his brand Being Human are involved in fraud, manipulation, and money laundering transactions, that he and Salman Khan Films are dacoits. Defendant has been spreading malicious falsehoods and defaming Mr. Salman Khan consistently over several months, clearly with a view to draw attention to himself. Mr. Kamaal R Khan’s lawyer made a statement in Court today that Mr. Kamaal R. Khan 'will not put any remarks of defamatory nature against plaintiff on social media till next date.' The Hon’ble Court has been pleased to pass an order taking into account this statement made by Mr. Kamaal R. Khan’s lawyer,” the statement concluded.
Well, the war has escalated now and we wonder how Salman would react to the recent allegations by KRK.
