Dark clouds hover across India, especially in major cities like New Delhi and Mumbai, where there has been an acute shortage of medical oxygen for patients in hospitals.

The second wave of the Coronavirus pandemic has shaken the foundations of our already overwhelmed health care systems, leaving patients and their loved ones helpless in search of beds, medicines, and oxygen.

With many hospitals across the national capital New Delhi reporting to be running with acute shortage of oxygen, in heartbreaking video footage, Dr. Sunil Saggar, CEO of Shanti Mukand Hospital could be seen breaking down while stating that the hospital had only two hours of oxygen left.
#WATCH | Sunil Saggar, CEO, Shanti Mukand Hospital, Delhi breaks down as he speaks about Oxygen crisis at hospital. Says "...We're hardly left with any oxygen. We've requested doctors to discharge patients, whoever can be discharged...It (Oxygen) may last for 2 hrs or something." pic.twitter.com/U7IDvW4tMG
    — ANI (@ANI) April 22, 2021
Speaking with ANI on Thursday (April 22) Saggar said that he had instructed doctors to discharge patients who can be discharged.

"We are hardly left with any oxygen. We have requested doctors to discharge patients, whoever can be discharged. It (oxygen) may last for two hours or something," said Saggar.
"Whatever volume of oxygen we were giving, we have tweaked it so that it can last more. Presently, 110 patients are on oxygen, out of which 12 are on ventilators. About 85 patients are on more than 5 litre/minute oxygen, then there are cancer, cardiac patients." said Saggar.
Narrating the crisis that was looming over his hospital, Saggar broke down at the end while saying,
"It will be very unfortunate, deplorable condition...we as doctors are supposed to give life. If we cannot give them oxygen even, the patient will die,"
The heart-wrenching video of the incident saw the reaction of people on the microblogging website Twitter.

    — JPS Uppal (@JPSUppal) April 22, 2021 According to reports, the Arvind Kejriwal government has approached the Delhi High Court stating that Saroj Hospital & Shanti Mukund Hospital would be running out of oxygen soon and that supply had been stopped by the states of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.

Delhi's Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has blamed the shortage of oxygen in Delhi's hospitals for the disruption in supply from an oxygen plant in Faridabad.

According to reports, an INOX Air's plant in Greater Noida was also being stopped from supplying to New Delhi.
Following the intervention of the Centre, it was reported that both plants had resumed supply, however, according to the Delhi government, the promised 480 MT has not yet been met.

Days after Mumbai Police decided to use colour-coded stickers for essential vehicles to control traffic amid the COVID-19 curfew the Twitter handle of the Mumbai police department has been flooded with messages asking for clarifications. At present, section 144 of the CrPC has been imposed that prohibits assembly of five or more people at one place is in force in Mumbai and other parts of the state to bring down the COVID-19 cases.
In all those messages and tweets, one Twitter user and a Mumbai resident asked the police which colour of the sticker to use for taking his vehicle out to meet his girlfriend. He wrote, “What sticker should I use in order to go out and meet my girlfriend? I miss her.”
Mumbai Police has the perfect answer to it and they chose words very responsible. The tweet handle said, “We understand it’s essential for you sir but unfortunately it doesn’t fall under our essentials or emergency categories! Distance makes the heart grow fonder & currently, you healthier. We wish you a lifetime together. This is just a phase.”
We understand it’s essential for you sir but unfortunately it doesn’t fall under our essentials or emergency categories!

When you think of Bollywood stars who pushed the limits of style and fashion, you simply cannot miss out Govinda - the man had a separate fan base altogether, because of his sense of fashion and style.
    © Reddit/r/GovindaStarFc
We think that Ranveer & Aparshakti push the sartorial envelope to its limits nowadays. Truth be told, though, even they will agree that Govinda up until the early 2000s, trumped all of them, by a great extent.
    © Reddit/r/GovindaStarFc
We take a look at a few of Govinda’s most iconic outfits from his prime, which made all of us his fans of his movies, and his quirky sense of style as well.

    In A Pink/Purple Kurta © Reddit/r/GovindaStarFc
Amitabh Bachchan looked very out of place in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan especially as the non-police doppelgangers. Govinda on the other hand, in some really questionable outfits, looked right at home.

    Going Goth © Reddit/r/GovindaStarFc
When have you ever seen a leather jacket that was as quirky as this one? Never? Thought so. We actually kinda dig this goth-version of Govinda.

The Prints Of his Shirt © Reddit/r/GovindaStarFc
As quirky and whacky as this printed shirt is, this isn’t the quirkiest of his shirts. There have been many instances where Govinda had put on shirts that just drew everyone’s attention to themselves, no matter what was going on, on the screen.

The PC Sarkar Avatar © Reddit/r/GovindaStarFc
This is from one of his more recent films, after his comeback. He legit looks like he is going to play the role of a magician in a film. All future magicians should be taking notes.

    The Shirt As A Canvas © Reddit/r/GovindaStarFc
Seriously, for this man, his shirt was his literal canvas. Also, don’t miss that chunky looking belt, and that dope looking watch. He really knew how to dress up in style, without having to rely on a suit.

    The Colour-Bomb © Reddit/r/GovindaStarFc
This is just classic Govinda - wearing a colour-bomb of an outfit. Red & Blue denim shorts with a slanted cap, yellow T-shirt and suspenders. Only Govinda can pull of something as whacky as this outfit.

The Walking Zebra Crossing © Reddit/r/GovindaStarFc
Don’t mind us saying this, but it almost seems like one day Govinda just decided that he wanted to wear a zebra crossing, and got this piece made. Oh, and the manner in which he broke a few style rules (no wearing horizontal stripes, is just awesome.

The Actual Zebra Print © Reddit/r/GovindaStarFc
Think of animal prints and the zebra would be the last thing on any one’s minds. Not Govinda though. There is street fashion, then there is high fashion, and then there is Govinda sense of dressing up, in a league of its own.

    A Study In Violet & Yellow © Reddit/r/GovindaStarFc
And then, we have this gem of an outfit. Govinda actually looks quite nice in this mustard yellow and violet outfit. It has a very bohemian appeal to it. We’re not sure though that any one of us can ever actually pull something off like this.

The Bottomline…Govinda truly is one of the original fashion icons of Bollywood. His sartorial sensibilities were genuinely way ahead of its time. Do let us know which other outfits of Govinda were memorable, and which ones made you a fan of his.

India's battles with the catastrophic second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic have left its healthcare systems crippled and its citizens gasping for breath.

Open any social media account and you can see helpless people looking for hospital beds, medicines, and oxygen supply.

According to reports, the 31-year-old has been working round the clock to provide oxygen cylinders to people in need of it.

Shahnawaz and his Unity & Dignity Foundation initiative have supplying oxygen to patients through phone calls, and have also set up a ‘control room’ to streamline the efforts, as per India.com reports.
"Last year when we started, we provided oxygen to 5,000 to 6,000. This year, there is a shortage of oxygen in the city. Where we used to get 50 calls earlier, we now get 500 to 600," said Shahnawaz while speaking with NDTV.
His initiative to become the country's Oxygen Man began last year during the first wave of the Coronavirus pandemic, when his friend's cousin died of Covid-19.
According to reports, this prompted him to sell his Ford Endeavour to buy around 160 oxygen cylinders for people in need of it.
"Earlier, we were not able to work properly due to lack of funding. I thought things like my SUV can be bought again, what is important right now is to help others,"
"That's why I sold my SUV and certain other things, and that's how we were able to help others," said Shahnawaz.
Shahnawaz's efforts certainly did not go unnoticed as social media users shared their admiration for the Oxygen Man on Twitter.

Prachi Desai has always acknowledged the fact that nepotism does exist in Bollywood and it’s hard for outsiders to make a mark in the industry. After a long sabbatical, the actor got back into the business and will star alongside Manoj Bajpayee in Aban Bharucha’s Silence... Can You Hear It? The actor has been vocal about how she has been treated by the industry members as she had no support from any filmy godfather.

Talking about nepotism being prevalent in the industry, she said that she has accepted it as a reality and feels that it is likely to continue in the future, too. On being asked if her career has suffered due to nepotism, Prachi told a leading daily, “See, that’s a reality that is best accepted; there is no point denying it. It has been there, it is there, and it’s probably going to be there. But today, I’m loving the fact that the audience is deciding a lot. So, as long as the audience supports, there will be space for everyone.”
Prachi thanked the audience and said it was because of them that things turned around for her. “To be honest, the kind of stuff that I’m getting offered now, and which wasn’t coming my way a year or two years ago, is because of the audience. They are the people who have changed everything. As long as the people really like and support us, we will have a place for all outsiders like me,” she said.

The actor recently opened up on her ordeal with casting couch experience and how once she was told that she needs to be hot enough. She talked about how she was asked for sexual favours by a director and how she turned it down. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, the actress revealed, “I think very direct propositions were made to get cast in a certain film, a big film, but I have outright said no. Even after that director has called me, after saying no, I have still said that I am not interested in your film.”
We wish that Prachi keeps getting work and gets acknowledgment for the work she has been doing for years and continues to do.
