Back in the day, when John Lennon was asked if Ringo Starr was the best drummer in the world, he was rumoured to have replied: "He's not even the best drummer in the Beatles".
During an international career that spanned over 25 years, Sachin Tendulkar did put up a strong case to be classified as the world's best batsman after Sir Donald Bradman. But, when it comes to One-day Internationals (ODIs), Ricky Ponting believes that he is not even the best batsman to come out of India.
Instead, the Australian batting legend reserved that mantle for current Indian captain Virat Kohli. The 42-year-old feels that the Delhi lad, in his brief limited-overs career, has done enough to become his best ODI batsman ever.
    © BCCL
“Is he (Kohli) the best batsman in the world? Yeah, he probably is. I thought he was six or seven months ago and he's probably taken it to another level since then," Ponting told Gulf News.
“Is it too premature to call him the best ever? You can probably say that right now as far as his one-day cricket is concerned. His One-day record is outstanding and probably better than anybody that’s ever played the game given how many hundreds he's made," he added.
“He'll continue to improve, especially now that he's the captain as well and his team's winning.”
    © Twitter
Snubbing someone like Tendulkar, who is considered a living God in India, is almost a blasphemy. His 18,426 runs in ODIs scored at an average of 44.83 are the most in history - 4000 more than the next best batsman Kumar Sangakkara (14,234).
He has also scored 49 hundreds in the 50-over format - most by a batsman followed by Ponting who reached the triple figures 30 times in his career. These are some unbelievable numbers Tendulkar racked up across a 463-game career.
So, what makes Ponting think otherwise? Well, here's the answer.
    © BCCL
In the current generation of cricketers, Kohli is in a league of his own. The right-hander has scored the fourth-most hundreds ever (27), plundering 7755 runs at a stunning average of 53.11 and a strike-rate of over 90 in 179 ODIs he has played so far.
And then there is Kohli's ever-growing reputation as a run-chase specialist in limited-overs cricket. At the moment, no other batsman in the world looks more convincing than Kohli in a run-chase. A glimpse of his act of wizardry was thoroughly visible during the first ODI between India and England earlier this year.
Chasing 350 runs at the MCA stadium in Pune, Kohli smashed a breathtaking 122 off 105 balls - in partnership with Kedar Jadhav (76-ball 120) to ensure India notched up the mammoth total with 11 balls to spare.
    © BCCL
It was his 17th hundred in the second innings of an ODI match, and of those, 15 have come in successful run-chases. In doing so, Kohli pipped Tendulkar who held the record number of centuries in successful ODI run-chases with 14 tons to his name.
That knock also saw Kohli become the fastest man in history to reach 27 ODI hundreds. While Tendulkar took 254 ODI innings to achieve the feat, Kohli did it in just 169 innings.
So, is Kohli really the best ODI batsman ever? Is he better than his counterparts, including the great Tendulkar? Well, these questions need no answers.
Comparing two cricketers who played in two completely different eras of the sport is surely injustice for both of them. But, cricket is a sport that is governed by statistics that often instigate comparisons and by the looks of it, the numbers are heavily in favour of Kohli (at least in ODIs, if not overall).

India’s wait to see Tesla’s car in India might finally be over, as Elon Musk just hinted at a possible launch of Model 3 on Indian roads. Tesla’s autonomous electric car is expected to hit the Indian roads anytime between late June and early September.
    © YouTube
Answering to a person’s inquiry on Twitter, Elon Musk said that the company is looking to expand their business and debut its car in India this summer (hopefully).
@goel_ishan Hoping for summer this year
    — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) February 7, 2017 Musk had announced the affordable version of the Tesla Model 3 last year, which is aimed at the mass market, is priced at $35,000. Musk announced that the Tesla Model 3 will be available to purchase in new countries like India, Brazil, New Zealand and South Africa and can be booked on pre-order for an amount of $1,000.
    © YouTube
However, let's not get carried away as it is still very premature to get excited about the new development. Musk had announced his plans when PM Modi visited Tesla’s Silicon Valley factory last year, however, there has been no fruition since then. Musk had also hinted at setting up a battery plant in India.

It was on 7 February, 1999 when India's veteran spinner Anil Kumble etched his name in the history books after taking 10 wickets in a single Test innings, becoming only the second bowler after England's Jim Laker to achieve the feat.
But, yesterday, when the cricket fraternity was celebrating the 18th anniversary of Kumble's unique feat, Indian batting legend Virender Sehwag shed light on the forgotten story behind his former teammate's rare achievement.
Hailing Kumble on the historic day, Sehwag spoke about the contribution of Pakistan's Wasim Akram who eventually became Jumbo's 10th victim in the monumental innings at Feroz Shah Kotla.
Kismat ke aage ,all saazish fail.
    Well done Wasim bhai.
What a day it was at the Kotla by Anil bhai. pic.twitter.com/xDzMd39XOq
    — Virender Sehwag (@virendersehwag) February 7, 2017 According to Akram's personal account, Waqar Younis who was batting at the other end had come up to him and suggested that he could probably get run-out to foil Kumble's chances of clinching the 10-wicket haul.
"Kumble had got nine wickets and me and Waqar (Younis) were batting in the crease. Waqar came to me and said 'How about getting run out?' so that Kumble does not get his 10th wicket," Akram revealed.
"I said 'You can't deny him the feat if he is destined for it. But I can assure you that I'm not going to give my wicket to Kumble. But subsequently it was me who gifted my wicket to Kumble," he added.
As highlighted by both Akram and Sehwag, destiny eventually prevailed and Kumble recorded epoch-making figures of 10-74 in 26.3 overs to hand India a remarkable 212-run victory over arch-rivals Pakistan.

People say “Do in Rome as Romans do” but that doesn’t seem to be the case with Indians because wherever we go, we tend to get so comfortable that we forget that we aren’t at home, and switch our desi mode on. That’s exactly what happened with some crew members of Air India who were notified for getting boxes to pack food from the breakfast buffet served at a hotel in London. Guess, we can never get over our love for ‘khane ka dabba’. Back home, we have seen people carrying boxes to pack food from parties and at times even weddings, but at a UK hotel and from a breakfast buffet, people went too far this time.
    © Twitter
A warning note titled, ‘A buffet is not a takeaway’, was sent to the flight attendants by an assistant general manager (AGM) after a London hotel complained that some of the cabin crew members got boxes to take away food from the buffet table. “We have received an unfortunate email from the management of hotel in London stating that some AI crew members regularly come down for breakfast with empty boxes into which they fill food items from the buffet, presumably to eat later,” the note read. The letter even mentioned about taking serious disciplinary action against those involved.
    © flickr/PortoBay Hotels & Resorts
The note added, “This may include, not being scheduled on international sectors, as we have no desire to allow the reputation of Air India to be tarnished by a handful of such individuals.” However, there is a twist in the story as a spokesperson from the airlines said that this letter might be fake. “Initially this letter appears to be fake because an AGM-grade officer is not authorized to send a circular that has pan India implications. We are investigating the issue.” The crew members, however, confirmed that they received this letter and that the concerned person who sent the letter was promoted to the post only 15 days ago. Well, that seems fishy, we hope they soon rope in CID’s ACP Pradyuman to look into this matter.
    © BCCL
However, a crew member, not exactly accepting this incident but also not denying it, said “We land in London either at 7.30am or 6.30pm. We are dead tired by then as its 14-15 hours from the time we have left home. So we just want to crash. Unlike earlier when the layover was 2 days, it's now only 26 hours and so we have to catch up on sleep before the next flight. Even so, only a couple of us would be bringing boxes to fill and eat later. Most don't do that.”
It was further added that the room service is not provided for free, “It comes with a service charge of 10 pounds so as to discourage people from ordering meals in their room. So one has to dress up and go to the restaurant downstairs for a menu.” It was further added the menu only offer sandwiches and stuff and the hotel is located near Heathrow airport so if one wants to have a good meal, they will have to go to the city which sometimes becomes cumbersome so they resorted to this. Well, the reason seems legit but even then packing food in dabbas is not really a solution and maybe the airlines should look into this and come up with something more doable.

Nikhil Sabharwal is a multi-hyphenate—engineer, writer, pilot, day-dreamer and most recently, actor. We caught up with him to talk about everything—from perfect shirtless selfies to the best grooming products in town. Read on...
    1. It's February; where are you right now, how are you feeling, what are you eating, drinking and listening to?
I'm based in Bombay but have been shooting in Jaipur and will be here for another two months before I head back. The feeling couldn't be any better—it's winters in Rajasthan and the weather is perfect!!
My meals on-set and off usually consist of brown rice, chicken, veggies, daal, curd and dessert. I'm a foodie so I do end up eating most of the things that I set my eyes upon. Also, hide-n-seek biscuits and Bourbon biscuits are a  part of my survival kit (laughs)! As far as drinking is concerned—MILK!
I've been hooked onto Liberation by Harold van Lennep! This track is banging!!

    2. Tell us about your (new?) haircut. Is it for a new role? Also, how often do you trim it?
My hairstyle as of now is a mix between the undercut and very short, spiky hair. I am playing an army officer and didn't want to go for an all-out buzz, so we settled for the next best option. Fun fact: My hair grows as if it were running away from my head, so my hairstylist and I end up meeting pretty much every ten days.
    3. Do you use products on your hair? What are your favorites?
The only product that I use to style my hair is Bed Heads' Get Baked Mousse. Apart from giving the hair a fuller look, it also smells like waffles.
    © Nikhil
    4. As an actor, you are constantly subjected to strong lights and make-up etc. Are there ways you protect your skin? Do you use moisturizer, toner etc?
I use Johnson and Johnson's baby oil to remove my make-up and then wash it clean with water. That's my only daily regime post pack up. When I’m not shooting, I usually don’t use any products.
    5. Wax or Trim?
    Trim!!

    6. Tell us about your upcoming projects? What are you most excited about...
Currently, I am shooting for a series for Zee TV, called Bin Kuch Kahe, and the telecast begins from 6th Feb at 6.30pm. I enter the series a little later but this project is unlike any other television show. It's new, relatable and it's been a blast shooting with the team. Rajshree Ojha and Ram Kamal Mukherjee are the lifelines behind this show. Full marks to them for making this beauty happen.
    7. You are usually clean shaven. What are your views on beards? Do you think 2017 will be the return of the clean shaven look?
I prefer being clean shaven but I’m happy in my beard too. I feel it's all about the way you carry yourself and the role that one gets to play. 2017 should be a mix of clean shaven, stubbles and beards—a trend one makes for themselves! The idea is to be comfortable in your own skin.
    8. Looking at your Instagram selfies, it's evident that you are a pro at taking a shirtless selfie. Will you break it down for our readers on how to take a brilliant shirtless selfie?
    Step 1: Eat right (obvs)
    Step 2: Workout
Step 3: Take off your shirt, find a spot with decent light and CLICK!
When step 1 and 2 are done correctly, any selfie is a good selfie.

Mohit Ahlawat couldn’t have written a better script for himself. Scoring 300 runs in just 72 balls just before the IPL season gets underway is an incredible way to make your presence felt. While T20 is all about smashing the ball the out of the stands, Ahlawat has given the format a new meaning altogether.
The 21-year-old was a part of Maavi XI and scored a total of 39 sixes in his 72 ball innings against Friends XI. He has earlier played just three first-class games in 2015 with a highest score of just 4. On the back of Ahlawat’s incredible innings of 300, his team posted a humongous total of 416 in 20 overs. The opposition, Friends XI bundled out for 200.
    © Twitter
"I was feeling good out there in the middle. I was middling the ball. I knew I could get to the 300-run mark if I batted for 20 overs. After the 17th over I felt I had a realistic chance of getting to the figure. I thought if I could get at least 12 balls from final 18, I could get there. Fortunately, things went my way," Mohit told Cricket Country.
Mohit hit 50 runs in last two overs, including 34 runs in the final. Ahlawat hit five consecutive sixes in the last five balls of the innings. Apart from him, teammate Gaurav also scored a handy knock of 86.
    © Twitter
With scores like these being posted at local club level, it’s just a matter of time that we see huge totals like 300 being just par for the course in future. It’s a certainty and one can only pray for the future generation of bowlers because T20 is going to be brutal for our budding seam talent.

We’ve seen them in the very cute advertisements for Make My Trip. Besides that, the two haven’t starred opposite each other in a movie yet. Considering they are both hot property in Bollywood right now, the pairing would be explosive, we think.
    © Twitter
And the gods of Bollywood have taken notice. The duo is all set to star in Zoya Akhtar’s next movie ‘Gully Boy’, which is based on the Mumbai’s underground hip-hop scene. Excel Entertainment confirmed the news on Twitter.
    Things are about to heat up . @RanveerOfficial and @aliaa08 pair up for @excelmovies #GullyBoy.  https://t.co/DNANQOr69z pic.twitter.com/aXDFzmxKcg
    — Excel Entertainment (@excelmovies) February 8, 2017 According to a report by PTI, the movie is based on the lives of street rappers from Mumbai’s chawls and ghettos.  Mumbai-based rapper Naezy, whose life has inspired the film, was reported saying, "Ranveer also listens to hip-hop. He knows what real hip-hop is. We spoke to him and he is also very excited regarding this. He will enjoy this (role) too […] He was rapping like me. He listens to all our music. He is a very versatile actor. He can be a Bajirao and a rapper too," he said. It is expected that Ranveer will play a rapper in the movie.
    © YouTube
Zoya Akhtar too has been doing research for the film, being the perfectionist director that she is. Naezy spoke about Zoya visited their locality and even saw the artists perform to get a better idea of how the street rapping world functions.
That’s not all. If rumours are to be believed, the film might also have Ranbir Kapoor and Varun Dhawan. Can’t wait to see Ranveer, Alia, Ranbir and Varun rapping together! It’ll be a long wait since the shooting of the film starts in November though.

If you remember, last October, Uber announced that it would like to expand its ride-sharing features to the heavens. Literally. It turns out that Uber is very serious about developing flying cars/taxis and they have hired NASA engineer Mark Moore to spearhead the company’s flying car project.
    © Uber
The project has been bestowed the name ‘Uber Elevate’ which is quite fitting for what Uber is trying to achieve. Moore has worked on developing transports that resemble a helicopter but are technically automobiles. The transports were designed to haul urban commuters from city to city which is essentially Uber’s business model.
    © YouTube
The Next Web reports that “Moore hopes to escalate the company’s vision for “on-demand aviation” —- helping create the world where urban air transit systems are commonplace and tiny self-flying aircraft run on electric. More specifically, the flying cabs would have between 50 to 100 miles of flight capabilities on one charge, and could be hailed by pressing a single button on the ride-hailing service’s ubiquitous app.”
As for now, there is no confirmation on whether Uber will be launching the Elevate service anytime soon. However, we already know that Uber has been successfully testing self-driven cars and a flying taxi does not seem far fetched.

Talk to anyone about DLF Cyber Hub and the first word they will utter is ‘booze’ and we can’t agree any less because it hosts some amazing pubs and bars of Gurugram. But, thanks to the Supreme Court’s mandate, the pub owners and ‘Guru-grammars’ are biting their nails fretting that the place might go dry soon, and by soon we mean post April 1st. This better be an April Fool’s prank but it doesn’t really look like that.
    © Facebook
The Supreme Court, in December, had issued a ban on the sale of liquor within 500 metres of national and state highways. Cyber Hub, which is right next to the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway, and the bars in five-star hotels and resorts on the expressway too seem to fall under this radar. Further, the excise department has also shortlisted some 109 pubs and 43 liquor vendors that would lose their licences on April 1. Amidst this ban, we are still hoping that it turns out to be a prank played by a parody account.
    © Facebook
Aruna Singh, deputy excise and taxation commissioner, Gurugram told HT, “We will comply with the orders of the Supreme Court. We have conducted a survey and will shortly submit the report to the headquarters.” Further owner of the Raasta Café, Goumtesh Singh, said “Due to a lack of description in the ruling, all food and beverages outlets have come under the scanner. Let’s hope that the Supreme Court will explain this and give us a realistic guideline of the ruling.”
    © Facebook
Reportedly, over Rs. 70 crore revenue per year will be lost if the 43 liquor vendors are shut. Just in case you guys are planning to switch from Cyber Hub to Sector 29 which is another happening party place in Gurugram, with a heavy heart we will have to break this news to you – some pubs and bars in Sector 29 too will be affected. So basically, post April 1st our lives will be f**ked and we will have to go to some shady and sneaky thekas wearing hoodies to buy our drinks.

In case you haven’t heard about Apple’s new spaceship campus, you must be living under a rock. However, latest development suggests that Apple might have missed one of the most important architectural feats for their campus – the commode.
    © YouTube
Reuters had the unique opportunity to get an in-depth look at the spaceship campus in Cupertino and then stumbled upon the Apple’s new pinnacle of design. The iThrone (I’m sure it’s not called that) is a toilet that has been influenced by the iPhone where everything is controlled by one central button- the home button.
"Apple's novel approach to the building took many forms," Reuters writes. "Architect German de la Torre, who worked on the project, found many of the proportions - such as the curve of a rounded corner - came from Apple's products. The elevator buttons struck some workers as resembling the iPhone's home button; one former manager even likened the toilet's sleek design to the device.
C’mon now, how could one not like a beautiful toilet?
Apple has been meticulous at picking the right design for everything that is going to be installed at the Cupertino headquarters. However, there have been many delays concerning the construction of the spaceship as it was slated to open in 2015.
    © YouTube
According to Reuters “de la Torre (Chief Architect) ultimately saw that Apple executives were not trying to evoke the iPhone per se, but rather following something akin to the Platonic ideal of form and dimension."
Well from what we can gather, it sounds like an extremely pretentious way of saying that your toilet resembles the iPhone.

Ashwagandha (also known as Withania Somnifera) is a herb used in Ayurveda for a variety of purposes. Ashwa in Sanskrit means horse and gandha means smell. It is named so because the root has a strong aroma that is described as “horse-like”. It is also known as Indian-Ginseng.
    © YouTube
It Is NOT Primarily For Erectile Dysfunction And Infertility In Men    You will witness the usage of this herb in many ayurvedic medicines and tonics. Before we go in detail, I just want to bust a myth regarding Ashwagandha. Many Indians believe that this herb is given only to those men who are sexually weak or have an errection problem. It’s just one of its uses.
Benefits  An Aphrodisiac: Aphrodisiacs are the foods, drinks etc that stimulate sexual desire. It is mentioned in the ancient Kama Sutra as an herb to be used for heightening sexual experience. This herb has the ability to restore sexual health and improve overall vitality while promoting a calm state of mind. Can be used by both men and women for the purpose.
    2. As An Adaptogen: Adaptogens are the substances that are able to prevent physical and chemical effects of stress. To make it simple, Ashwagandha can help you in multiple physical and mental stress related disorders such as-
    a) Depression
    b) Insomnia
    c) Nervousness
    d) Anxiety
    e) Elevated Cortisol
    3. Total Cholestrol: There is a total decrease in around 10% of total cholesterol when Ashwagandha is ingested. It is notable, however, since this appears to occur in all persons regardless of whether they have high cholesterol or not.
    © YouTube
    4. Reduces Fatigue: With prolonged daily usage, it is effective in reducing the feeling of tiredness. That is why it is a favorite among athletes who engage in physical sports.
    5. Anti Cancer Benefits: Both human and animal studies have shown evidence for the use of ashwagandha as an anti-cancer herb. Lab and some animal studies show that ashwagandha components slow the growth of many types of cancer cells including:
    a) lung
    b) Colon
    c) Breast
    d) CNS

When his track, Clarity, released in February 2013, it didn’t just top the charts of Billboard’s Hot 100; it went on to become an international sensation—being played at almost every night club across every major city of the world. Having sold up to 2,238,000 copies, the song became the single most defining moment in the life of Anton Zaslavski, better known to the world as Zedd.
    © Facebook
It was only a matter of time before the Russian-born German record producer, DJ, musician, and multi-instrumentalist became one of the most sought-after personalities in electronic, at such a young age. He continues to be known for his track, Clarity, which won him the Grammy award for the Best Dance Recording; although he has gone on to create and produce some equally popular tracks; one of the more popular ones being his collaboration with Hollywood Pop singer, Selena Gomez, whom he was rumoured to be dating briefly, as well.
It all started for him when he won two Beatport contests, back in 2010. Following that, he produced a bunch of popular remixes of songs by Justin Beiber, Lady Gaga, The Black Eyed Peas and so on which won him accolades, instantly. Post Clarity, Zedd gave the music industry Stay The Night with Hayley Williams, a few months later, in September 2013 and while it won him equal amounts of popularity in the night clubs, it was criticized for its lyrical mediocrity.
He released Break Free with pop queen, Ariana Grande in July 2014 which stood fourth on the Billboard’s Hot 100 list, peaked at number 1 on the Hot Dance Songs’ list and became the top dance track in popular night clubs.
The artist decided to take a six month sabbatical soon after before coming back with an announcement of an album release early in 2015. The album was called True Colours. And once again, he was on the top of the charts, with the track I Want You To Know, featuring Selena Gomez that got him back to the top of the charts. It sold more than seven million copies and earned the artist a Platinum certificate.
Sometime during May of 2015, Zedd released Beautiful Now five days before releasing the album which topped the Billboard charts at the number 1 spot. In July, he released another single from the same album, Papercut.
With the amount of adulation and applause he was receiving, Zedd soon became one of the most wanted artists at popular dance music festivals and in 2015, he headlined the Spring Awakening Festival, along with Eric Prydz.

He’s young, talented and knows what he wants when it comes to his musical intricacies which makes it all the more worth the while to watch where he goes in the months and years to come. For the moment, though, we’re getting ready to witness him perform at the fourth edition of Vh1 Supersonic in Pune, for the second time.

When you’re at a gourmet music festival that is born out of one of the most famous vineyards in the country, you’re bound to want to try each and every variation that you can, without losing your senses. Also, when you’re right in the middle of wine country with so many options and such quick access to wines of all types and textures, you use it as an opportunity to really build on your knowledge of the alcoholic beverage. At SulaFest this year, that’s exactly what I did. This was my chance to really see how affined I could get to wine—a drink that I, more often than not, tend to pass because it just seems like too much of an effort; simply because there always seems to be some sort of rule book to drinking wine. I never really understood that, honestly.
    © MensXP
The truth is while wine does require some sort of prior knowledge and experience in order to enjoy and appreciate; it comes down to whether or not you like what you taste. My time at SulaFest this year was dedicated towards testing my knowledge of the alcohol and seeing how much I really knew about it and how I could play around with different foods and wine choices. This was, of course, when I was not losing myself to the melodious music by some of the best bands I’ve heard in a while.
I spoke to Paul Hillier, Marketing Director, Accolade Wines, who enlightened me on how the way people taste and enjoy their wines is changing. He says, “The more exposure people get when it comes to wines, the more they are willing to try and test different combinations of food and wine.” What this means is that you don’t just have to stick to the typical wine and cheese, or crackers, combination. Mixing it up works, just as well. I remember going to a wine tasting which gave us a little quiz and all as to what food items worked best with what wines and why. I didn’t really understand why there had to be a set rule book to how blue cheese went only with white or red wine, and why I couldn’t choose a different option and still be right.
    © MensXP
At SulaFest, while wine tasting with various different food items was one of the agendas on the itinerary—and the sommeliers make equally good points—what I also discovered was that there is no particular way to enjoy your wine. You could do pasta with a red, white, rose or merlot. You could do dessert and chocolates just the same and you could spice it up with a few burgers or rolls, too. You simply know which ones would work for your palate best.
    © MensXP
The thing is the more you travel around and about, experiment with different cuisines and try different combinations of food with wine, the more you come to realize that everyone has a different palate for certain foods and combinations. While not everyone would want to try a bucket of fried crispy chicken with some chocolate sauce, you might just be the one weirdo out of tens of thousands who seems open to that sort of experimentation and that’s completely okay. If it works for your taste buds, there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t go for it. Get my point? That was just an example I was trying to give you but yes, I have tried that food combination, just in case you were wondering. I kind of liked it. So, now do you see what I mean? There are people like me, out there, who prefer to mix things up, even with their wines. Ever seen someone pair their wine with waffles? I have. And they seemed to beautifully justify why it worked for them as a combination. I couldn’t see why not.
    © MensXP
SulaFest provided us likeminded weirdos with a place to do just that and more. You could do that with just about any alcohol, really. But, when you’re in the middle of a vineyard, why else would you look at any other alcohol, is my question? So, I picked out the Rasa Shiraz from Sula’s red wine options, the Blanc de blanc, Reisling and Chenin blanc from their whites and decided to go on a wine tasting spree of my own.
Here’s what I observed.  The Rasa does go well with a set of cheese crackers, cheese alone, or even with Pizza. But, it goes equally well with Pomfret fry, a chicken fry roll and potato wafers. The Reisling is one of the most refreshing options of white wine I’ve ever tasted. So, I fell in love with it, instantly. Why? Because you can feel the after taste of the grape uplift your spirits; it makes for the perfect pick me up on a long and tiring day. Yes, I could pair it with a spicy BBQ Quesadilla, or a burrito, or even chicken skewers. But, there was something about just sipping on the Reisling and taking a stroll in the lawns of the vineyards, listening to bands like Dhruv Voyage and Reggae Rajahs doing what they do best. Then, came the Chenin Blanc. It’s one of Sula’s white wine options and it’s smooth as f*ck, actually. And while most people pair this with seafood and it would taste like heaven. But, you know what would taste just as well? A juicy grilled chicken burger, a lamb burger, or even Butter Chicken fries. Ever tasted that? You should.
    © MensXP
I tried Sula’s soon to be released Blanc de Blanc, which is an all-new 100% chardonnay that the brand is releasing soon, on the occasion of their 10th year. It was refreshing and uplifting, instantly and didn’t really need a food combination to go with it. But, just in case you want to stir things up, you could try a nice plate of fried nuggets to go with it. Hillier poured me an interesting take on Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand, called Mud House, from Accolade Wines. I specifically loved the flavourful taste it had; turns out, it was because of the different kind of grapes used to create the wine and the fact that it was not aged in a barrel, unlike what most wineries assume and execute. I paired it with a Pizza, which is quite standard in wine rule book philosophy. But, I paired it with a really meaty one, with extra cheese and all sorts of meats. Tasted perfectly good, if not better than most wines, to me!
In my animated and detailed conversation with Hillier, my convictions were only solidified. He agrees when I tell him that different palates have different preferences, depending on their perspectives. Perspectives matter a lot when enjoying wine. The more developed and seasoned your perspective, the more expansive your palate is. That reflects in your choice of food and drinks, as well. SulaFest lets you do that becaue of the options and availabilities of different wines, as well as foods to devour. It gives your palate a perspective and therefore, a total recall on your previously set wine preferences.
So, next time, if you want to mix it up with a chardonnay, a sauvignon blanc, shiraz or a merlot, don’t think about what the rule book says. Go out there and experiment with your own taste buds and thresholds to see what works best for you. Maybe I’ll even bump into you at the next edition of SulaFest in Nashik, next year. Peace Out!

Masala films may rule the box office but thanks to the internet, lesser known filmmakers aren’t going unnoticed either. Quality cinema finally seems to be getting its due, maybe not in terms of money but definitely through worldwide recognition. Filmmakers from across the country who may not be backed by the biggest production banners are being seen and heard and most importantly, applauded by connoisseurs of filmmaking not just in our country, but world over.
    © YouTube
One such film from our country is creating waves in international film festivals and we couldn’t be prouder. Called ‘Sexy Durga’, this film by a young Malayalam director Sanal Kumar Sasidharan is the first Indian film ever to win the prestigious Hivor Tiger Award at the International Film Festival of Rotterdam. Director Sasidharan has won a whopping amount of Rs 29 lakhs as prize money.
“The movie won for its daring and resourceful approach in creating a mood of constant tension. The particular use of camera and acting give a sense of immediacy and momentum, while providing an insight into multi-layered power dynamics of gender, class and authority," the Rotterdam jury said.

And whoever thought that a good film needs a big budget, ‘Sexy Durga’ was shot in 20 days! ‘Sexy Durga’ is about a road journey featuring a man and a woman and aims to highlight how the same men who worship Goddess Durga turn into monsters at night. The theme is strong and the cinematography looks brilliant. Check out the trailer here!
It’s time we show our support to filmmakers who are bringing something new to the table, pushing the envelope with every project. Here’s wishing the best of luck to the entire team of ‘Sexy Durga’.

While there’s so much happening in February, there’s one thing for certain: the Riders Music Festival is one that must not be missed. But, we’ve already gone to lengths to tell you why.
Now, we’re simply here to tell you that there are 6 musical prodigies set to take the stage at the Riders’ Music Festival and the following are our favourite compositions by these artists that you should listen and look forward to at the festival.
    1. Lucky Ali  There’s no doubting the man has a golden voice capable of sweeping any woman off her feet and giving any man voice goals, if that’s even a thing. But, back in the day, this was the one song that really made the singer a household and playlist favourite. Even if you had zero taste in music, you always loved Lucky Ali’s O Sanam. There was no second guessing, whatsoever.
    2. Amit Trivedi  Of course you’ve heard Amit Trivedi’s charming voice and wished you could sing like that. And when you hear him singing Rabba during MTV’s Coke Studio you want to never stop listening to it. It’s got this folksy native Punjabi tune with a contemporary rhythm and beat and you just can’t get it out of your damn head.
    3. Hari & Sukhmani  You have to be living under a rock if you don’t know who these two are. But, let’s assume you’re like one of us, in which case you know who and what the duo that is Hari & Sukhmani really are. They redefine music. They make you feel like you need to get off your ass and do something more phenomenal, just by their music. They give you the energy to feel like you can get shit done. And even if you can’t, you can just listen to their music and believe you’ll get shit done after you’re done listening. Truth is, you’ll never be done with them.
    4. Kutle Khan  What do you even say to someone whose voice and musical prowess supersedes your entire existence? You don’t say a word. You just lose yourself in their voice and stop questioning pure emotions. That’s what Rajasthani folk music artist Kutle Khan instills when you listen to him sing. You lose yourself in a world driven only by the man’s vocals and the story told through his lyrics.
    5. The Local Train  So mellow, so real and so enchanting. The Local Train is a band that has always prided itself on these three adjectives in their music. There is this young, innocence to their music that finds the right balance of contemporary indie pop; John Mayer-style background music, et al. They believe in the acoustics and the melody of any song and always express their deepest emotions that somehow, always connect and resonate with the rest of us. No wonder they’ve remained so popular through time.
    6. Voctronica  I’ve always associated with Voctronica in the sense that they know how to make things fun, even with their covers. They make it their own. They know how to use their acapella skills to really mix things up. Their tribute to A R Rahman remains one of our favourite and one of their coolest compilations, ever.

How many times have you called in sick just because you were a little too hung-over for office? By now, perhaps your boss thinks you are an alcoholic. Let’s admit, we’ve all been there. Hell, even our boss has done that to his boss. So it’s not really rocket science to figure out when employees suddenly fall sick on a Monday morning.
    © Twitter
Mark Mclelland had a rough night and woke up the next morning with a bad hangover. So he sent a message to his boss asking him for a sick leave because he had the ‘runs’.

What happened next is a lesson for all of us. His boss called his bluff in a second and left him red-faced.

He called in sick on a Sunday. How hung-over can you be to do that? This is the type that always clicks on a ‘reply to all’ when saying ‘haha’.
    He tweeted about his ‘blunder’.

    — Mark McLelland (@Mark_McLelland) February 5, 2017 Obviously, telling your boss you can’t make it to office because you got a little too drunk the previous night is not exactly a wise choice, unless you got drunk with your boss. Moral of the story: Always check your date, time and recipient when sending any messages to any of these 3 people – your boss, your girlfriend, your mom.

The ongoing parliament session is witnessing a flurry of debates from demonetization to issues related to ongoing elections. With the opposition on offensive to drive the point of mismanagement in handling key issues by the government, Bhagwant Mann decided to take up the mantle from AAP’s front. Bhagwant Mann, who is a very vocal critic of PM Modi, gave an amusing speech in the parliament worthy of a stand-up comedy stint. Here’s what he said:

And so, during PM’s address to the house today, Modi too, in passing, made a comment on Bhagwant Mann’s drinking habits, which he’s famous for. Take a look at the clip here:
No matter who you support, nobody can deny that it was an epic clap back from PM Modi. Your move, Mann.

Eugenie Bouchard is one of the most popular tennis stars in the modern era of the sport. She's just 22 years old, has never won a Grand Slam and her highest-ever career rank has only been 5. So what makes her so popular, you ask? Of course, her looks.
The sultry beauty from Canada is arguably amongst some of the hottest stars in the game at the moment. On court, more than her game, it's her drop-dead gorgeous looks that does the talking.
Despite losing in the third round of the 2017 Australian Open, Bouchard got the Melbourne Park drooling with her sexy crop-top outfit, becoming every man's desire.

But, while majority of men can only dream about going on a date with the Canadian beauty, one man - who is practically a nobody - got lucky on Sunday.
Much to the shock of her almost one million Twitter followers, the Montreal-born blonde agreed to go on a date with a random user in what appeared to be a favourable Super Bowl bet to her.
It was the Super Bowl night and Atlanta Falcons looked set for a runaway victory in the first-half in Houston. Losing her faith in Atlanta's opponents New England Patriots, Bouchard tweeted: "I knew Atlanta would win btw".

    — Genie Bouchard (@geniebouchard) February 6, 2017 With all odds against him, a twitter user TW1 (@punslayintwoods) asked Bouchard: "if patriots win we go on a date?".
@geniebouchard if patriots win we go on a date?
    — TW1 (@punslayintwoods) February 6, 2017 Convinced that it was possibly game over for New England, Bouchard decided to take TW1's bet.
    Sure https://t.co/4W763IHkgB
    — Genie Bouchard (@geniebouchard) February 6, 2017 But little did she know that her bet would come back to haunt her. The New England Patriots didn't just come back to win the Vince Lombardi trophy, but it was probably one of the most inspiring comebacks in Super Bowl history.
And, more importantly, the Patriots' win also meant that someone got lucky and achieved something unbelievable - a DATE with Eugenie Bouchard!
Coming to terms with what had just happened, Bouchard awkwardly tweeted: "So...where do you live?".
    So...where do you live? https://t.co/mfucQ0C9VL
    — Genie Bouchard (@geniebouchard) February 6, 2017 To which TW1 replied: "Chicago. Go to school in Missouri. We can go on a date where ever you want!".
@geniebouchard Chicago. Go to school in Missouri. We can go on a date where ever you want! ?
    — TW1 (@punslayintwoods) February 6, 2017 As the Patriots won the game, their fifth title with Tom Brady as quarterback, Bouchard regretted taking the bet: "Lesson learned. Never bet against Tom Brady".
Lesson learned. Never bet against Tom Brady ?
    — Genie Bouchard (@geniebouchard) February 6, 2017 While tweets continued to flow from both Bouchard and the lucky man, the twitterati remained in shock and awe, wondering if it's really going to happen. But, Bouchard finally broke her silence and removed the curtains from one of the biggest suspense stories on Twitter lately.
Lol it made a Twitter moment. And I will do it, I stay true to my word ?? pic.twitter.com/0rOUc0xJsC
    — Genie Bouchard (@geniebouchard) February 6, 2017 Bouchard might have agreed to go on a date with a stranger on twitter, but will she really do it? Is she already dating someone? If yes, will he allow her to go on a date with a random guy from Twitter? Well, I reckon we just have to wait and see.
Meanwhile, this doesn't look good for TW1 (the lucky guy).

When you sow your dreams with your wishful hands, little do you know that the same hands will one day bury them. Champions are made to be remembered, not forgotten, but alas, the story of Buli Basumatary is different. Buli trained at the Sports Authority Of India and even won two gold medals, along with one silver medal in the National Sub Junior Archery Championship. She even won a gold in the senior championship and even today, those medals are a prized possession. However, they only serve the purpose of being a piece of memory for her.
    © Twitter
In 2010, Buli had to put archery on hold. An injury made it difficult for her to practise and limited financial means meant that her family couldn’t support her health and her love for sports simultaneously. Also, if at this point you are wondering whether there was any government aid for a national champion, then the answer is ‘NO’. Buli eventually had to put this dream on hold. She went on to get married and have two lovely kids but since her husband’s earnings are not enough to feed them all, one can spot Buli selling oranges on an Assam highway.
    © Twitter
Her hopes are still high and she hasn’t given up on that dream. Her wings can take flight if the government provides some help. Are the authorities so busy glorifying the already strong celebrities that a deserving champion cannot get her due? It is a sad tale of fate, but then Buli is not the one to give up, on hope, or life. Here’s hoping that her dream becomes the shining moment for the entire nation one day, soon.

Creativity knows no boundaries and some geniuses have proved this statement time and again with their quirky and out of the box inventions and ‘pot’ seems to be their favourite muse. Use of marijuana in everyday things is nothing new - be it infused in honey or mixed with chocolates, we have seen it all. Yet every time we are amazed at how brilliantly and bizarrely weed fits well with almost everything or maybe it’s our desire that overpowers logic.

We all have that one friend in our group who is a big time “fattu” and “darpok”, he is the one who always insists on smoking and right when the deed is done, he will go ahead and spray deodorant in a way one would use fire extinguisher. At one point even we have done this to mask the smell of smoke. But, even in our weirdest dreams, we never thought that one day somebody would create a perfume that smells like weed. Yes, you read that right! What was once used to mask the smell of smoke can now be used to smell like pot all day long. So if you aren’t scared of your parents’ flying ‘chappal’ then go ahead and try this perfume.
    © Xyrena
This perfume is being launched by California-based Xyrena and the company calls them the first “strain-specific cannabis perfumes”. As of now, three unisex perfumes have been introduced – Blue Dream, OG Kush and Space Cake and are available for $74.20 (Rs. 5000 approx.) Just FYI, guys, this perfume does not contain actual cannabis, so don’t get too excited when you fall short on stuff.
