Guardians of the Galaxy was one of those 3rd-grade comic books which no one really cared about. But considering the fact it was Ironman (a subsidiary character at best, in the comics) who helped launch the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this isn't the first time they have created magic out of nothing.
The first Guardians movie has superstars such as Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper, but people were less than thrilled when they learned one was voicing a tree and the other a raccoon. Chris Pratt was known as the goofy guy from Parks & Recreation, Dave Bautista was a washed up WWE superstar, and Zoe Saldana was getting nothing but supporting roles. The movie was going to suck, right? WRONG.
It was one of the best movies of 2014 and everything from the soundtrack to the performances were phenomenal.
Cut to 2016; Marvel isn't as fun as it used to be and people are getting bored. Perhaps Guardians of the Galaxy 2's wry sense of humour is what they need? James Gunn released a teaser trailer last night. Check it out:
We get glimpses at all the things we loved from the first movie while not learning much except that Yondu (Michael Rooker) finally has a badass mohawk like in the comics.
The movie is set for a May 2017 release. Will this be the movie which revitalizes Phase III of the MCU? What do you think?

When Aamir Khan makes a movie, best believe that it’s going to be a modern day classic. Aamir’s next venture ‘Dangal’ has been in the making for a long time now and finally, UTV Motion pictures dropped the movie’s first trailer. One look at the trailer and you would agree that it’s already a master piece. Khan has crafted it so well that even if you aren’t a fan, you will be one. And mind you, this is just the effect of the trailer. The movie’s tied around the life and times of India’s finest wrestling coach, Mahavir Singh Phogat and his daughter Geeta and Babita Phogat, both of whom are Olympians. The movie aims to shatter the stereotype that ‘women can’t wrestle’ and looking at the trailer, it indeed will! Check out the trailer.

It’s been years, literally years since Apple has updated or upgraded their line of MacBook Pros, Air, Mac Mini, iMac and the detritus we call the Mac Pro. They already have a new phone, a new bigger phone, a new watch and new wireless headphones that look like you have a hair dryer jammed in your ears.
If you are wondering how long it has been since we got a new Macbook Pro, 27 years is the figure you are looking for. Luckily, Apple has sent out invites to the press where they might have something exciting on their cards. The event is scheduled to take place on October 27th and rumours suggest that the new laptop will have an additional screen above the keyboard that will have functions in relation to whichever app you might be using at the time. It is also rumoured that the new Macbook Air will have a USB-C port.

According to Macotakara, the new Macbook laptops are expected to start shipping by the end of October. Macotakara has a formidable reputation when it comes to claims and we just hope the rumors are true.
As usual, the event will be available to stream on Apple’s website if you happen to own an Apple product.

Udayan Sagar, also known as Nucleya, is one of the most popular DJs in the country at the moment. He started his musical journey way back in the 1990s, making electronic music back in school on his first computer. In 1998, he formed his first band, Bandish Projekt, with two friends and the band stayed together for about ten years before breaking up.
    © Nishant Matta
Nucleya came into existence in 2009, and with a renewed sense of vigor, Sagar went on to explore different types of music before coming across dubstep. The complexity and versatility of this genre completely captured his attention. He released his first EP ‘Koocha Monster’ in 2013 and the song ‘Akkadd Bakkadd’ gained instant popularity, becoming one of the highlights of his career. The EP fused together South Indian street music with his signature bass heavy sound and featured talented artists like Chinnaponnu and Delhi Sultanate.
Next came his first album, ‘Bass Rani’, that saw a rather innovative launch. He dropped the album during Ganesh Visarjan. The album stirred up quite a buzz with Udayan’s eccentric ways of promotion. He mixed everything from Punjabi folk to Mumbai street music to Tamil Kuthu elements with electronic beats to create a truly unique sound for this album.
In addition to performing all over India, Nucleya has also played at many festivals like Glastonbury, Edinburgh, Lille, Fringe and Electron, performing alongside likes of Diplo and Modeselektor. Most recently, he played at a music festival in Spain which also included other Indian artists like B.R.E.E.D, Medival Punditz, Karsh Kale and The Raghu Dixit Project in its lineup. In the future, he hopes to collaborate with artists like Benny Dayal, Vishal Dadlani, Papon, MIA and many more.

The first single from his forthcoming album ‘Raja Babu’, including a collaboration with Kavya Trehan, was recently released and has already gained critical acclaim. And for his latest album, he ventured into unchartered territory, throwing a concert for fans at a stadium level, across major metropolitan cities in the country.
Nucleya can next be seen live at the happiest music festival ever - Bacardi NH7 Weekender, on 21st and 22nd October in Shillong, on 5th and 6th November in Hyderabad and on 2nd-4th December in Pune.

At 48, model-turned-actor, Rahul Dev can still give the younger crop of models a run for their money. Not only is his jawline (and those abs) chiselled AF, but his sense of style is unparalleled! Though he might not be a regular face on the big screen currently (he’s down regional movies, though), fashion runways have never ceased to love him. He belongs to the original clique of models who made the shift successfully to the silver screen, becoming known both for their acting talents as well as their personal style, both keeping onscreen and off.
Over the years, Rahul’s impeccable fashion sense has kept him on the ‘fave-models’ list of ace designers like Rajesh Pratap Singh. With a knack of carrying off anything with great flair, he’s pulled together some solid ensembles created by the most revered names in the Indian menswear scene, including a phenomenal ‘Great Gatsby’ look, via a white JJ Valaya overcoat at Amby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week 2012.
Let’s not forget his polished desi dude look in a jazzy white achkan by Arjun Khanna at Bangalore Fashion Week 2013 (white seems to be his favourite shade and nobody cuts a better frame than him in Indian silhouettes) or his easy breezy yet confident look in a blue velvet JJ Valaya jacket at the Festival of Hope runway show in June, 2015 (and you thought velvet was a tough fabric to carry). While the younger crop in showbiz is trying hard to make a fashion statement, there are a few who are natural. Rahul is one of them.
Here are 6 times when he totally lived up to his supermodel status.

Setting a harsh example of their unbiased objective justice system, Saudi Arabia executed a member of the royal family, Prince Turki bin Saud al-Kabir, after he was found guilty of shooting another man dead during a brawl. The person shot dead was identified as Adel al-Mahemid. This is the first time in almost four decades that a prince was executed for murder. Earlier, Prince Faisal bin Musaid was beheaded in the year 1975. The execution was held in the capital, Riyadh. The details of the method of his execution haven’t been revealed yet, though most death penalties are said to be carried out by beheading in a public square.
    © wikimedia
Reportedly, after this incident, the kingdom’s social media networks started piling up with some Saudis saying that such a thing is hard to imagine while others were saying that this move shows the quality of their justice system. The system follows a strict interpretation of Shariah law and is often criticized by human rights groups for being unnecessarily harsh and arbitrary in terms of punishments.
“The greatest thing is that the citizen sees the law applied to everyone, and that there are no big people and other small people,” said Abdul-Rahman al-Lahim, a renowned Saudi lawyer wrote on Twitter. Saudi Arabia is said to be one of the world’s few remaining absolute monarchies. So far, over 130 people have been executed this year in Saudi Arabia. While there are mixed reactions, this execution has left many people baffled and confused whether one should support or oppose this decision. Agreed that the laws are above anyone and everyone, but are these extreme measures justified?

Marijuana is one of the fastest growing industries in the world and there are tons of weird marijuana based products in the market already. The newest thing to hit stores is marijuana infused wine. Yes, you read that right!
Weed is obviously not legal everywhere and the mixing of legal marijuana with alcohol or other drugs is usually prohibited, but California is an exception to this law and therefore winemakers there are working around a grey area.
A photo posted by Mary Jane Wines® (@maryjanewines) on Sep 6, 2016 at 9:22am PDT
With the medical use of marijuana being legal in California, companies are always venturing into and capitalizing on new and innovative products. Even though pot wine can be traced back to the days of ancient China, it has become a hot new thing recently.
A photo posted by Mary Jane Wines® (@maryjanewines) on Sep 11, 2016 at 8:26am PDT
Working around the law, the manufacturers of these products pose as completely legit businesses. Social media has played a major role in the success of these cannabis based companies and they develop a huge dedicated following online for such products.
With the benefits of marijuana actually being proven through serious scientific studies, it may be ‘high’ time for India to legalize the medical use of weed in the country.

The process is complicated. The bowling rhythm and delivery accuracy needs to be in perfect sync to extract the maximum out of the pitch. The match situation and fielding restrictions must be taken into account and the condition of the ball plays an important role too in determining how much sting the delivery will have upon impact. All of these variables, however, usually line up if a world class bowler decides to bowl a spell which is right up there with the best you could have possibly witnessed.
It usually pays off too, unless you are bowling to Virat Kohli defending a target. Because he is immortal while chasing and you know it with that look of true grit and steely eyes as he takes the stance every time there’s a figure to chase.
    © BCCL
At this point, the stats and numbers are just ancillaries to the incredible batting we witness every time this guy makes his way to the pitch. Since the last two years he averages a Bradmanesque 96.40 in successful chases in ODIs and an unbelievable 166.50 in T20Is. But this is not what we see when he comes on to bat. It’s much more than that.
Take, for example, his performances in the T20 world cup and then the IPL where he single-handedly carried both India and RCB to the final stages of the competition. This has been his year by a very large margin with an accumulated 1667 runs from 28 matches at a staggering average of 79.38. And this is not including his exploits in the Indian Premier League where he scored 973 runs at an average of 81.08. So what is it that spurs this Delhi lad to transform into a run-scoring machine, especially when there’s a target to chase?
    © Reuters
The answer lies in his upbringing and how it affected him, shaping up his personality over the years. Kohli has over the years stressed heavily on why his father’s untimely death was an important turning point in his career. And it’s really important to understand why because it is something which stirred something inside of him to achieve what he was really capable of.
“I still remember the night my father passed away as it was the hardest time in my life. But the call to play the morning after my father's death came instinctively to me. For me, not completing a cricket game was equivalent to committing a sin. Importance that cricket holds in my life is above everything else,” Kohli said in an interview in early 2016.
“My father's death gave me the strength to fulfill my dreams, and that of my father's also,” he added.
    © Reuters
And this is not the only time that he makes a reference to his father. Time and again, through social media posts and stories, it crops up too. It is as if every time he goes on the field he wants his father to know that he is as successful as he would have ever imagined it for him. He wants to feel those acknowledgements that look in his father’s eyes every time he chases down that target. It’s as if he’s chasing that final goodbye from his father, reaffirming his faith in him and telling him that he’ll be fine playing cricket for the rest of his life.
It seems to have had a large impact on how he bats too. He doesn’t take too many risks, he plays the ground shots even if chasing a daunting 344. He isn’t ruffled by the kind of attack in the opposition ranks; he rather just focuses on his interpretation of a run chase and how to track it down even if there’s minimum support from the other side. It’s because of this risk-free approach that he is mostly successful coming in with a target on the board.
    © Reuters
But that does not mean Kohli isn’t aggressive, he is but mostly in intent and not so much in his actual batting technique. He’s calculated yet confident and never too rigid in his approach. This is mostly a factor of his growing up in the Delhi cricket circuit. “I have not known a more competitive youngster. He was just hungry for more — runs and attention,” says Ajit Chowdhary who was Kohli’s assistant coach in his formative years. This has and will always be a quality that defines Kohli for most part of his career.
He’s 27 and has a good 4-5 years ahead of him to achieve great things. And at this point there are only two or three guys who can challenge him for the top spot. AB De Villiers, recuperating from an injury; Williamson, who can’t seem to get the hang of things in sub-continental conditions and Joe Root, who’ll be tested in the upcoming tour to India. If Kohli can extend his purple patch for the better part of 2017, then it’ll be really difficult for any of these guys to catch up to him.
    © Reuters
For now, he just seems a class apart with his amazing stroke-play and impeccable technique, walking to the ground, intimidating world class bowlers with that incredible drive. He’s Superman, he’s invincible and he’s winning India matches at will or so it seems. So the next time you see him taking guard and looking around for the field setup, devising in his prefrontal cortex the exact route to chase down the target, be assured that he has planned it to the T and no matter if the guys around him fall in the process, he’ll try to execute that plan single-handedly because that is what his father taught him and that will always be his dream.

Cheat meals taste just as good as they sound when you have been religiously abiding to a dieting routine. They prevent catabolism, and boost the metabolism. But what happens when a fat dude with an eating disorder starts cheating in the very first week of his diet? Well, he becomes fatter and his ‘dieting plans’ remain plans. The effects of cheating are not only physical but also very much mental. You really don’t want to mess up your progress. Keep these in mind next time you sneak in a cheat meal.
    1) If You Are Really Fat, Cheat Meals Are Not For You © Thinkstock/Getty Images
First things first, cheat meals aren’t meant for everyone. If you are between 20-35% body fat, don’t know what inside of the gym looks like and are working towards fat loss for the time in your life, it’s definitely not for you. Well at least not for a good 90 days from the start of your program. The more body fat you have, the more are the chances that the glycogen will be stored as fat. Look, cheating on meals is like giving in to your addiction and if your obesity is food-induced, chances are you will never stop at one meal. There are always more chances of derailing from the diet by a cheat meal than there are of going back to the diet. Think logically: you love the progress more or the mental and physical backlash you will face after stuffing your face in a cheat meal? If your body fat is critical, stop pleasing yourself with cheat meals.
    2) Replace Cheat Meals With ‘Re-Feeding’ Meals © Thinkstock/Getty Images
In most cases eating a cheat meal kicks off hours of binge eating. Here is where re-feeding comes into play. Re-feeding is nothing but having a meal that’s rich in carbohydrates but only the ‘good ones’ with a sole purpose of replenishing glycogen stores. While the macro nutrient source of a ‘cheat meal’ can be any, re-feed meals are strictly good carbohydrates and fruits based. So next time, instead for hitting a fast food joint, hit a place where you get good fish/chicken and rice. Learn to harness the power of good food and you will never want a cheat meal again.
    3) Schedule Your Cheat Meal Either Before A ‘Taxing Workout’ Or After © bodybuilding
If must cheat, cheat wisely. Plan your cheat meal either as a pre-workout meal or a post workout meal. Eating it before will ensure optimum glycogen stores leading to a power-packed workout, while eating it after will help aid muscle recovery and lesser glycogen will be stored as fat. Don’t go overboard though. Remember, you can’t outdo a bad diet. By taxing workouts here is mean are HIIT sessions or leg or back days.
    4) Make Sure You Don’t Take More Than 30-45 Minutes To Finish Your Cheat Meal © Thinkstock/Getty Images
The demon here is the taste and it feeds your taste thirsty taste buds. The shorter a cheat meal session is, the lesser are the chances that it will turn into an all out binge session. Beware that you haven’t had the food you love to eat in a long time and it will be hard to take control when you are served that!
The logic here is simple: let your body fat percentage decide your frequency of cheat meals. The leaner you are the more you borderline catabolism, so cheating can be often. If you are fat, you simply have to be wise about cheating or not cheat at all.

With the onset of the wedding season, you are sure to receive thousands of invites and will definitely be looking forward to attending them with much zeal, but no matter how creative those wedding cards are…nothing, I repeat, nothing can beat the kickass invite this family has created for their guests.
The wedding invite in discussion is that of the mining baron and former BJP leader Gali Janardhan Reddy’s daughter. Wedding invites in boxes are nothing new - we have seen boxes filled with dry fruits, sweets, and even chocolates. But not even in their wildest dreams could one have imagined that a wedding invite would come with an LCD screen playing a pre-wedding video. Clearly, written words are so passé.
The video features Reddy, his wife, his son, daughter Brahmani and the groom Rajeev Reddy. In fact, rumors are rife that actors Shah Rukh Khan, Tamannah, Prabhu Deva and Katrina Kaif may perform at the wedding that is scheduled for November 16.
Just FYI, Reddy spent over three years in jail because of the Bellary illegal mining case and was released in January 2015 on conditional bail by the Supreme Court.
Coming back to the invite, with the amount of energy and money this family has spent on a wedding invite, one can only imagine how grand the wedding is going to be. So what’s next? Sending the entire wedding footage in a box to all those who couldn’t attend the wedding? Or installing drones at the wedding location and connecting it to the broadcast stations for live coverage? (We hope that doesn’t count as a suggestion.)

Sania Mirza just completed a commendable 80 consecutive weeks as the world number one in doubles ranking and ecstatically announced so, on twitter. This incredible feat that puts her in an elite company is more special especially because she is the first Indian female player to do so.
In the list of congratulatory messages, one tweet stood out for being a little too rude and Sania responded to it brilliantly.
This is what Sania Mirza tweeted:
Today I complete 80 consecutive weeks as the number 1 player in d world?its been an amazing journey and just inspires me to work harder @WTA pic.twitter.com/BsHoeU0YAT
    — Sania Mirza (@MirzaSania) October 18, 2016 Manjrekar, however, tried to correct her, oblivious to the fact that Mirza didn’t play singles anymore.
No 1 doubles player you mean. Congrats! https://t.co/Qrdyigdrro
    — Sanjay Manjrekar (@sanjaymanjrekar) October 19, 2016 And as expected, Mirza responded with a slam dunk reply.
    Since I don't play singles anymore isn't that obvious/common sense?my bad,common sense is not that common after all I guess.. :) https://t.co/fXhnaQZEM7
    — Sania Mirza (@MirzaSania) October 19, 2016 Manjrekar still tried to defend his tweet with this reply.
Well, you missed out an important detail for someone like me who lacks common sense :) https://t.co/nLgRFONxrn
    — Sanjay Manjrekar (@sanjaymanjrekar) October 19, 2016 And then decided to ‘leave all balls outside the off stump alone’ for now!
Yes, the article also says No. 1 doubles player in the world. Said what I had to, will leave all balls outside the off stump alone now ??? https://t.co/LP37fxYE0s
    — Sanjay Manjrekar (@sanjaymanjrekar) October 19, 2016 Now that you have learnt your lesson, never do that again Mr. Manjrekar.

For most of its fans, Manchester United is life. There’s no doubt then that they take their football very seriously and are in turn very vile towards other teams in the premier league. This hilarious video with an unpredictable twist in the end is for all those Manchester United fans that have a closet non-believer in their circle. Watch the video and see if you’re a Red fan and whether or not you might have a mole in your circle too!

No matter how much we criticize our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, one thing we must acknowledge is the fact that he is doing some incredible work. One such initiative was announced in his Himachal Pradesh visit, where he dedicated three hydro-electric projects (HEPs), with a generating capacity of 1,732 MW, to the nation.
All these three power projects are equipped with generating equipment supplied and commissioned by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL). These power projects are Koldam HEP (4x200 MW) of NTPC, Parbati HEP Stage-III (4x130 MW) of NHPC and Rampur HEP (6x68.67 MW) of SJVN.

The event was graced by Acharya Devvrat, Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Virbhadra Singh, Chief Minister, J P Nadda Union Health Minister and Power Minister Piyush Goyal. When it comes to hydro-electric projects, BHEL is highly experienced and has contracted over 500 hydro generating sets with a cumulative capacity of nearly 29,000 MW of various ratings in India and abroad.
This move is definitely going to be beneficial for the environment since the increasing number of hydroprojects would result in reduction of greenhouse gas emission. Reportedly the government is considering including the large hydro projects in the fold of renewable energy to kick-start these projects.

It’s not for the first time that PM Modi has left us amazed with his initiatives. The recent surgical strikes are proof that he is not someone who will stay quiet when it comes to external threats. In fact, earlier when he was mocked by people for wearing a suit with his name monogrammed on it, let’s not forget that he is also someone who got the BRICS leaders to wear Indian jackets, making it a proud moment for the whole nation. After all, it’s not every day that you see globally prominent leaders adorn desi clothes. Undoubtedly, this man is leaving no stone unturned in making India stand out in front of the world.

Training, dieting and supplementation—all these actions are done for one reaction, that is, muscle growth. The fancy scientific term for muscle growth is hypertrophy. In order to induce hypertrophy in our muscles, we need to train them. So here’s the BIG question: How often should you train each muscle group? To answer this question appropriately, let’s have a look at the process of muscular hypertrophy/growth.
    What Is Hypertrophy?
Hypertrophy (myofribilar) refers to an increase in the actual size/protein content of the muscles; this is "real" muscle growth. The first step to achieve hypertrophy is a high tension muscle stimulus or to simply put, working the muscles as we do in the gym. This activates the satellite cells in the muscle tissues which tell the nucleus to produce messenger RNA (mRNA), which is a blueprint for proteins. The mRNA comes out of the nucleus where it eventually runs into a cellular machine called a ribosome. With the mRNA as an instruction, the ribosome starts grabbing amino acids out of the intracellular amino acid pool and starts putting them together into new contractile proteins, which are then, integrated into the existing cells and damaged muscle fibers. This heals them and allows them to get bigger in size. This entire process is called ‘Muscle protein synthesis’.
How Long Does The Protein Synthesis Last? © Elitelifts
Now the protein synthesis doesn’t stay revved-up forever. In fact, the increase in protein synthesis is gone within 36 hours after training. Guys on steroids achieve an advanced protein synthesis mechanism and hence grow tremendously big in a very small span of time. Hence, for natural lifters training every muscle in 48 hours is not only beneficial but I'll say necessary. To ensure you train your every muscle group twice a week, try these training splits-
    1) Upper body, lower body splits
    2) Push, Pull, legs splits
    3) Full body workout splits
Again, every training program is very subjective. Stick to the program that works for you and only trial and error will get you to that realization.

The excitement about ‘Dear Zindagi’ had already begun with the absolutely engaging twitter conversation between Shah Rukh and Alia, and soon followed the movie poster, making our excitement shoot through the roof and now we finally have the teaser.
Shah Rukh and Alia are looking adorable together and their delightful chemistry definitely makes us look forward to the movie. They are running around the beach playing kabbaddi like adorable (have I said adorable already? Well! They deserve it.) little kids and cycling together, all the while looking flawless.

Yeah, well, I do watch the show quite religiously. Let’s get past the judgements please, because this needs to be said.

It’s been only two days since the show started and Swami Om Ji has already said enough bullcrap to earn the ‘sexist douchebag’ title. Own it, rather.
    Colors TV
Here’s a Godman of our country who’s being shamelessly sexist on national television and getting away with it. I don’t even want to imagine the kind of knowledge and wisdom he imparts to the thousands of bhakts in the country.
If his outrageously intrusive and obnoxious comments on the female contestants on the show 5 minutes after meeting them weren’t enough, he went on to proudly narrate a rather disturbing (and disgusting) incident. He, quite proudly, revealed to Deepika Padukone that when the late Elizabeth Taylor visited him in India, he kicked her on the waist because he found her outfit ‘transparent’ and inappropriate. Deepika Padukone should have called out bullshit on him right then but surprisingly she didn’t, and he went on to say that he’s to thank for curing her backache.
    Colors TV
The next day, contestant Akanksha Sharma was shown confiding in Gaurav Chopra about her ongoing divorce with Yuvraj Singh’s brother. No, she wasn’t probed or force. She chose to talk about it. She chose to talk about something about her own life to a person of her own choice. But Swami Om Ji hadn’t been sexist even once since he had woken up that morning all day; so he REALLY had to butt in.
He warned Gaurav Chopra against Akanksha Sharma. He pulled misogyny to a new low when he suggested that Akanksha Sharma was trying to break Gaurav Chopra’s marriage because why else would a woman discuss her private life with a man? That’s not even all. He had the cheek to say “jo ek aadmi ki nahi ho payi woh kisi aur ki kya hogi” making a highly sexist reference to her failing marriage.
He also threatened to harm a contestant’s life on the show because he wants us all to know he’s not just sexist and misogynistic, he’s also a Class-A douchebag.
    Colors TV
What perturbs me is not that a certain Indian man made such sexist remarks, but the fact that I know so many Indian men out there who reflect his views, it’s going to be difficult to count them.
Swami Om Ji’s presumptuous entitlement over the lives of women, what they should wear and what they shouldn’t and what determines their character reeks of the ‘typical Indian mindset’ we’ve been trying to fight for years now. And it’s a major problem when an icon people blindly follow gets away with all of this shit on national television.

This is the same mindset that tells guys any woman who talks to them is ‘dropping a hint’. That a woman who decides to walk out of a failed marriage isn’t trustworthy and shall never be good enough for another man. That men have the authority to assassinate a woman’s character according to what they think is appropriate and what’s not. That it’s upon men to police women morally and on women to live with those judgements. Interestingly, the same shall never be said about a man.

Swami Om Ji is truly an ‘Indiawala’. Slow clap, Bigg Boss.

Telecom companies have already started exploring ideas to provide a 5G network across the airwaves but it seems like Qualcomm is already ahead of them as they have announced the world’s first 5G modem chip ‘Snapdragon X50’. The new chip is expected support download speeds up to 5 gigabits per second. Now that is extremely fast considering my home broadband can only download up to 8 megabits per second. Theoretically, an HD movie could be downloaded in less than eight seconds if what they say is true.
Currently, in the testing stage, the chip will be available only in small quantities in 2017 and it is expected to be implemented in the phone by 2018. However, the implementation of the chip seems quite redundant considering most Telecom companies won’t be able to implement 5G services anytime before 2020.
South Korean carriers are preparing to launch 5G services before the Winter Olympics in February 2018, but it seems like a long shot and it won’t be available throughout the country.
5G services will require a higher band i.e. 28 GHz which is also the reason why it will be hard to implement an infrastructure that can support it. The waves from a 28GHz band cannot travel long distances and are not capable of penetrating walls. In order to counter this obstacle, carriers will have to install small cell transmitters which we commonly call as ‘boosters’.
The new chip by Qualcomm is groundbreaking and it will change the way we interact with digital media and the internet as a whole. With such great speeds, we can expect high-quality media like 4K videos on YouTube and also have a real opportunity to give real-time virtual reality a go.
Qualcomm is staying ahead of the game and other companies will follow suit soon, but without the infrastructure, we might not see blazing download speeds anytime soon. Still, the future looks incredibly bright.

A 30-second video was uploaded online, this week, which suggests that Xiaomi has made a real bendable touchscreen. Bendable touchscreen have been a hot topic amongst companies like Samsung, Lenovo and LG where they have been showing off prototypes to the public at conferences.
There is no further information as to which phone Xiaomi is testing or whether the screen is at the prototype stage. Bloomberg has reported that Samsung has been working hard to release two smartphones, which will have bendable OLED screen and are expected to be announced sometime in 2017. According to their sources, one of the models will have the capability to fold in half and the other will be able to unfurl into a tablet.
For now, you can gaze at this video and just imagine the possibilities that we can experience if bendable screens are a success in the near future.
