No matter how much we criticize our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, one thing we must acknowledge is the fact that he is doing some incredible work. One such initiative was announced in his Himachal Pradesh visit, where he dedicated three hydro-electric projects (HEPs), with a generating capacity of 1,732 MW, to the nation. Β
All these three power projects are equipped with generating equipment supplied and commissioned by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL). These power projects are Koldam HEP (4x200 MW) of NTPC, Parbati HEP Stage-III (4x130 MW) of NHPC and Rampur HEP (6x68.67 MW) of SJVN.Β

The event was graced by Acharya Devvrat, Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Virbhadra Singh, Chief Minister, J P Nadda Union Health Minister and Power Minister Piyush Goyal. When it comes to hydro-electric projects, BHEL is highly experienced and has contracted over 500 hydro generating sets with a cumulative capacity of nearly 29,000 MW of various ratings in India and abroad. This move is definitely going to be beneficial for the environment since the increasing number of hydroprojects would result in reduction of greenhouse gas emission. Reportedly the government is considering including the large hydro projects in the fold of renewable energy to kick-start these projects.Β

Itβs not for the first time that PM Modi has left us amazed with his initiatives. The recent surgical strikes are proof that he is not someone who will stay quiet when it comes to external threats. In fact, earlier when he was mocked by people for wearing a suit with his name monogrammed on it, letβs not forget that he is also someone who got the BRICS leaders to wear Indian jackets, making it a proud moment for the whole nation. After all, itβs not every day that you see globally prominent leaders adorn desi clothes. Undoubtedly, this man is leaving no stone unturned in making India stand out in front of the world.
