An inundated road in Lahore. Photo: Geo NewsLAHORE: A spell of heavy rain lashed the Punjab capital on Friday, turning the weather pleasant but leaving low-lying areas inundated with rainwater.
Several parts of the metropolis including the Airport, Cantonment, Askari 10 and Davis Road localities received a heavy downpour. Gulberg, Shadmaan, Canal Road also witnessed heavy rain.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted another spell of monsoon rain in Karachi, Hyderabad and some areas of Balochistan over the weekend.
A fresh system of monsoon currents is expected to sweep into Sindh on Saturday, bringing with it heavy rain.
The National Disaster Management Authority has directed the relevant authorities to remain alert for the upcoming series of heavy rains.
The government has issued various precautionary directions to people regarding floods in the coming days.
