ISLAMABAD: The Joint Investigation Team's (JIT) volume X has details of letters and questions sent to different countries to inquire regarding the business assets of the Sharif family, sources informed Geo News on Friday.

Letters were also sent to Switzerland and Luxembourg in regards properties connected with the first family and the governments of the two countries were contacted.

Other countries that were contacted during the Panama Papers investigation include Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, UK, UAE and the British Virgin Islands, added sources.

Countries which did not answer the JIT's inquiries include Switzerland, Luxembourg, UK and Saudi Arabia.

The JIT had requested to keep volume X under wraps till replies were received from all countries.

Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed, during Friday's Panama Papers hearing, remarked that volume X will not be shown to anyone yet as a number of issues will become clear after reading the volume.

The apex court bench also directed for the confidential volume X of the JIT report to be made available to the premier's counsel, Khawaja Harris. The judges remarked that they want to keep everything transparent.

Volume X of the report was kept confidential at the time the JIT report submitted its final report. The JIT had asked the Supreme Court not to make the volume public as it contained material related to ongoing international cooperation in the investigation against the Sharif family.
