Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa said on Wednesday that the army's Baloch Regiment has given tremendous sacrifices in the war against terrorism.

The army chief was addressing a two-day conference at the Baloch Regimental Centre in Abbottabad.

Addressing the participants, which included soldiers and officers of various ranks as well as retired generals, Gen Bajwa praised the role of Baloch Regiment. He said the army will continue to fight terrorism in the country.

"I am proud of the significant role of the Baloch Regiment in defending the country," said the army chief.

We are protectors of our boundaries, said the army chief.

Gen Bajwa was also made the honourary Colonel-in-Chief of the Baloch Regiment.

He also laid a floral wreath at the martyrs' monument of the regiment.

Former army chiefs Generals Mirza Aslam Beg and Ashfaq Pervez Kayani were also in attendance.

Both generals, as well as the present army chief, belong to the Baloch Regiment of the army.
