Man City's Jesus Navas Getting 'Kidnapped' By Sevilla Is The Lamest Thing You'll Ever See

The world of football is currently engrossed with the transfer window where top football clubs are literally begging, borrowing and even stealing top players in a bid to strengthen their squad and outfox the rivals. The football fanatics, too, love every bit of the excitement.

And, on 1 August, Sevilla signed winger Jesus Navas from Manchester City to a four-year deal. There wasn't really much hullabaloo about the transfer of the Spanish footballer who rejoined his boyhood club on a free transfer. However, it was the dumb and idiotic manner in which the Spanish club announced Navas' signing that caught everyone's attention.

The La Liga club shot a bizarre kidnapping video which was later used to announce the joining of Navas on their official social media accounts. The video shows Navas being followed by two masked men as he walks down the street before they jump out of their car and cover his head with a bag.

Video confirmation of how Sevilla signed Jesus Navas. They kidnapped him. Seriously?

While a professional club like Sevilla honestly tried to create some social media buzz in a bid to appear creative with their transfer dealings, the theme of kidnapping someone as useless as Navas arguably makes them look like utter fools.

FICHAJE | @JNavas vuelve a casa #vamosmisevilla

â¡ï¸ https://t.co/Jb8WafrjpZ pic.twitter.com/nhAlE63bpc
— Sevilla Fútbol Club (@SevillaFC) August 1, 2017
The fact that Man City manager Pep Guardiola allowed the diminutive winger to leave on a free transfer because he failed to impress throughout his time at the Etihad stadium undoubtedly makes his so-called 'kidnapping' - as portrayed in the video - absolutely farcical.

Sevilla's 'kidnap' unveiling for Jesus Navas is the most stupid yet. He was a free agent who hadn't scored in over 100 games. Nobody's arsed
— Paddy Power (@paddypower) August 1, 2017
For someone who failed to register a goal or an assist in 24 Premier League appearances last season, Navas was clearly not someone like a Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi. In fact, he was even worse than the dunderhead Man City call their goalkeeper.

Along with Gael Clichy, Bacary Sagna and Pablo Zabaleta, the 31-year-old was released at the end of his contract with literally no one questioning City's decision not to retain his services.

Anthony Scaramucci could fit 129 spells as White House Communications Director into the time since Jesus Navas scored a league goal.
— Richard Jolly (@RichJolly) July 31, 2017
On the other hand, his arrival at Sevilla is likely to be celebrated by their dedicated fan base as Navas remains a local hero (which probably explains the video) after rising through their youth system. Debuting as an 18-year-old, Navas accumulated 393 first-term appearances before leaving for City in 2013.

His stint with the Cityzens was complete with a Premier League title and two League Cups, but his personal record of just eight goals in 183 appearances clearly highlights his lack of efficacy in English football.

Jesus Navas is really the worst player I've seen
— Ansa Musa (@St_Ans) August 1, 2017
Jesus Navas cringe announcement
— ð (@BaccaIieri) August 1, 2017
are you sure this wasn't actually City's goodbye video?
— A Grant (@agrantmac) August 1, 2017
Probs City fans kidnapping him and dumping him in Spain
— Mark Hall (@MarkHallBaltic) August 1, 2017
Don't bother watching ,They just dropped him off over the other side of the road since he couldn't cross
— Tyler Phillips (@Tylerpip1975) August 1, 2017
Wtf is this , is this what happens when you spend all your money before payday ?
