ISLAMABAD: A man, who claimed himself to be political assistant of former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member Aisha Gulalai, on Thursday alleged her of making millions of rupees from development projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Noor Zaman, who introduced himself as Gulalai's political assistant, alleged in a video message that she got Rs7.2 million kickback in construction of Bannu Link Road-Saddakhel Road. He said that he himself received Rs4.75 million out of the total amount.

"From funds allocated for Lakki Marwat, Gulalai collected Rs1.2 million; she kept Rs0.6 million issued for installation of Karak solar-powered tube well," the man claimed in his video message.

"Gulalai spent all this money for four-and-a-half kanal property in Janda Domail area, besides receiving another Rs1 million for providing counsillor ticket to a man in Bannu."

He alleged the former PTI member didn't show her Bannu property in her assets.

The man went on to alleged that Gulalai's father, Shamsul Qayyum, would make money from projects given in her supervision and take care of all financial dealings.

Zaman alleged that Gulalai, along with her father, held several meetings with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor.

"I accompanied them to the governor's residence several times. Shamsul Qayyum and Aisha Gulalai met the governor separately."

He claimed that Gulalai was in contact with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ameer Maqam, through her father. "Shamsul Qayyum would dream of NA-1, Peshawar ticket and seeing his daughter as interior minister."

Gulalai rebuts corruption allegations

Gulalai denied Zaman's allegations saying neither him nor Mujahid Khattak were her political assistants. "Many will come forth to accuse me, but I do not worry."

She rebutted the allegations while speaking on Geo News program 'Capital Talk'.
