ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Friday said the number of taxpayers in the country have increased by almost 50 per cent over the last four years, reported Radio Pakistan

The finance minister, while addressing the launch ceremony of the national tax directory,  added that over 1.2 million people filed their tax returns in 2016.

Dar further said that the country's tax revenue has increased from Rs1,946 in 2013 to Rs3,362 billion.

The finance minister stated that the increase in tax revenue was achieved by bringing the privilege class in to the tax net.
