Salman Khan has scored hits after hits for the past decade or so, naturally spiking expectations of his fans after every successive flick. His recent film ?Tubelight?, however, failed to impress even his die-hard fans, resulting in a miserable tank at the box office.

The unimpressive performance left distributors incurring losses and worried. They have, however, been compensated by Salman?s father and veteran write Salim Khan, Indian media reported.

?The film's business did not justify the price for which it was bought' and a cheque of Rs. 32.50 crore has been dispatched to the distributors with an undertaking that out of it, Rs. 1.50 crore would be refunded to exhibitors,? he told Mumbai Mirror.

?Whenever there?s a problem or a discussion, the final decision is mine. Even when I was working, after Javed (former scriptwriting partner Javed Akhtar) and I parted ways, I returned my share of the signing amount of all the films we had signed together. Some films work, some don?t, but in this case the losses were comparatively higher. Even though Tubelight did a business of over Rs 100 crore, it did not justify the price for which it was bought. This way, a large part of the losses will be covered, and from the distributors to the exhibitors, everyone down to the last person in the chain, has been compensated,? Salim added.

A period drama, Tubelight is set in the 1962 Indo-Sino war period. Besides Salman Khan, the film features his brother Sohail Khan and has been directed by Kabir Khan. The cast includes also features Chinese actress Zhu Zhu and late actor Om Puri.
