LAHORE: Punjab Food Authority seized 31,000 packets of imported expired chocolate from Rawalpindi on Thursday, according to PFA.

The raid was conducted at a warehouse located on Rawalpindi?s College Road. A huge quantity of expired chocolate was stored at the warehouse. 

The PFA officials revealed that the chocolates were supplied to super stores and shopping malls.

The records reveal that the chocolates had expired even before they were imported, informed the PFA.

As a result, the warehouse was sealed and a case was registered against the owners of the warehouse. 

On June 22, PFA had sealed two sweetmeat production units in Lahore and Rawalpindi.

Nearly 240 kilogrammes of ready-to-sell sweetmeat and 400 kilogrammes of inferior quality ingredients were disposed of, according to PFA Director General Noorul Amin Mengal.
