SC Rejects Plea To Make Playing Of National Anthem Compulsory In Courts Days After Making It Mandatory In Theatres

After making playing the national anthem Β in movie halls mandatory, the Supreme Court has rejected a plea to make it compulsory in courts. The petition to play the national anthem before the start of court proceedings was filed by a lawyer.Β

Guess the court doesn’t believe in following what it preached. Netizens didn’t take it lying down and vented their anger on Twitter.Β

How anti-national of our Supreme Court to not reject a petition asking for them to stand for National Anthem. Only movie-goers need to show?

Hypocrite much?

You know how politicians who cry for regional language primary schools always send their kids abroad to study? https://t.co/nylN8JTMqA

@ndtv Is this not hypocrisy. Will Bhakts/RSS/Hyper-Nationalists call the SC Anti-National now?

I don't know about you but the fact that the Supreme Court can so easily reject that National Anthem petition makes me pretty mad
