The Apple Watch is currently one of the most popular smartwatches in the market and it is even giving traditional timepieces a run for their money. It has improved by leaps and bounds ever since the first iteration had some performance issues. Apple fixed this problem with the Apple Watch 2 and added new features such as GPS functionality and water proofing.

Now we all know Apple is excited to launch the brand new iPhone next month and a new Apple Watch is also expected to be announced alongside the three phones. According to a report by Economic Daily News, the next generation of the Apple Watch is already in the final testing phase and mass production is about to commence soon. This has also been corroborated by the fact that Apple will introduce a new wearable device that will coincide with the initial release of Apple's new iPhone lineup.

According to KGI Securities, the Apple Watch series 3 is rumoured to have an in-built LTE functional that will allow the smartwatch to work independently of the iPhone. It is expected to use Apple's E-SIM technology so that it can track GPS movements and also has the ability to make VoIP calls. The design of the Apple Watch 3 is going to be more or less the same and will not introduce a new form factor. 

It is reported that Apple has sold a minimum of 30 million Apple Watch devices all over the world, however since Apple has never released official sales numbers for the wearable device, we can never be sure.
