  1. When it comes to men's accessories, watches win the race hands down, and rightfully so. They no longer just serve as devices that tell you the time, but have transformed themselves into indicators of one's 'woke'-ness, when it comes to fashion consciousness. While the market is saturated with thousands of choices, the only way to steal the limelight is choosing something that is unapologetically conspicuous, while not compromising on the sophistication scale. One brand that has decoded the formula of arriving at that perfect balance, is Swatch. When Swatch launched its 'Big Bold' collection, watch enthusiasts were blessed with a line that not only was extremely fashionable, but also boasted of a rare aesthetic that was phenomenally playful. (c) Swatch (c) Swatch Armed with a massive Ø47mm watch head covered with a slightly curved glass, the Big Bold Collection stays true to what it promised. The 6 variants with unique colours proved themselves worthy enough to take the urban streetwear game to the next level. (c) Swatch (c) Swatch Encouraged by the utterly positive response, Swatch decided to collaborate with one of the leading fashion labels in the world, 'A Bathing Ape', commonly known as 'Bape'. What came out of the collab is functionally one of the coolest things that we have witnessed. (c) MensXP SwatchXBape resulted in one of the funkiest watches the world has seen - 'Big Bold Bape The World Watch'. The pre-launch global event for that was organised on the 31st of May in Tokyo. (c) Swatch The collaboration resulted in a super cool collection of 6 watches inspired by (mega)-cities and the globe, namely, Bern, London, New York City, Paris, Tokyo and the entire planet. All six models feature a newly designed signature BAPE® camo pattern as well as the Ape Head logo on the hour hand and the lower strap, while the enhanced Swatch logo is invocative of the watchmaker's debut in the 1980s. The five city watches are numbered and limited to either 983 or 1993 pieces, paying tribute to each brand's respective birth year. Together with the sixth model BIG BOLD BAPE The World, this limited-edition collection shouts out to big personalities, celebrating the world, diversity and time. However, only the World watch will be available in India. (c) Swatch The World Watch definitely counts as a piece which is a statement collectible, being a part of an exclusive limited collection with a limited number of pieces. It will be available only at the Swatch exclusive store in Palladium mall, Mumbai. Launching on the 15th of June, this limited edition piece will cost INR 9250/-. (c) Swatch All we can say is that for watch enthusiasts, this collaboration right here definitely marks one of those rare instances where two fashion giants together gave rise to something so unique yet functional, which will be appreciated by connoisseurs and novices alike.
  2. Drake, who has churned out hit songs like 'In my feelings', is also a big fan of the NBA. When not producing songs, he's an active spectator at the NBA matches. He was last seen at the Golden State Warriors versus Toronto Raptors in Game Five of the NBA Finals, where the Golden State Warriors won. © Getty Images But here's why this match is so important: Drake wore an erotic timepiece that said, "I'd love to kiss your p***y.” © Getty Images To be precise, he wore a black Nike T-shirt and track pants with a $750,000 (which translates to 5,20,06,875 rupees, which is almost 5.2 crores) Richard Mille '69 Tourbillon Erotic' watch which has bars like a cinema box that you can twist to your fancy. The bar has settings with random sentences broken down so that you mix and match. The top bar can be changed to, “I want to,” “I need to,” “I long to,” “I lust to,” “I'd love to” and “Let me.” The middle bar adds in “explore,” “taste,” “kiss,” “arouse,” “devour” and “caress.” And the bottom bar gets into the specifics: “you tonight,” “your lips,” “your body,” “your n*****s,” “your p***y” and “you madly.” These are end number of sentences you could form on the dial to flatter your woman. © Richard Mille According to the brand website's description: "Activated on request by pressing a button at 10 o'clock, it plainly reveals the wearer's deepest desires.” Sounds like a horny watch which, although rather expensive, is making a statement, and we're just wondering if Kiki is impressed.
  3. If there is one thing that never fails to unite the entire Indian subcontinent, regardless of their many differences, it is the possibility of watching India and Pakistan butt heads on the cricket field. The excitement is buzzing at all times, the anticipation is almost palpable as the arch rivals get ready for the face-off, while the cheering can get bad enough to numb the ears. Literally. © Twitter People from both sides of the border wait with bated breath before every delivery, and after every shot that is played, let alone the times when the third umpire gets involved. There's no denying that both India and Pakistan feel very strongly about any and every cricket match between the two countries. © Twitter However, now with the ICC World Cup kick-starting in just a few hours, and with the Indo-Pak match scheduled for 16th June, the pheromones are only expected to get crazier with each passing day. But, what's crazier still is that so many people are willing to spend a fortune to catch the Indo-Pak clash LIVE in Manchester. © Twitter If you happen to be one of those who are considering (no matter how last minute it may seem now) to fly down to England in the new couple of days to catch the ICC World Cup LIVE, here is the cheapest way to get it done. Two-Way Air Ticket Expenses © Getty Images Managing the travel expenses will be the biggest concern while putting this trip together. The distance as well as the growing demands for tickets due to the World Cup might force you to shell out a good amount of money to reach your destination. The round-trip air fare for Economy tickets from Delhi to London and back, will cost you Rs 55,000 approximately. Two-Way Air Tickets Per Head (Approx.): Rs. 55,000 Lodging Expenses © Getty Images Since the Indo-Pak clash is scheduled to take place in Manchester, ideally one should look for a place that is as close to Old Trafford as possible. However, that means excessive expenditure because of the surging hotel fares. So we suggest opting for the cheapest AirBnB option instead. An AirBnB lodging in someplace like Failsworth will cost you approximately Rs 2,600 per night. Depending on how long you plan to stay after the Indo-Pak match (and how good or bad the result of the match is), you'd better do the required math for your lodging expenses. AirBnB Lodging Per Night (Approx.): Rs 2,600 © Twitter Those two would be the two of your major expenses apart from inter-city commutation, sightseeing and food expenditure which again depends on personal preferences and cannot be generalised. However, given that the value of the pound is touching the sky at Rs. 88 we presume that's also going to add bulk to your trip in a lot of ways. Estimated Total Travel & Lodging Expenses For 2 Night/3 Days (Inclusive of Food,Sightseeing, etc): ≤ Rs. 1.20 Lakhs That ain't cheap, but if it's last minute and you wish to make the most of the trip to London, it can't get cheaper than this.
  4. Ever since they made their World Cup debut in 1999, Bangladesh have managed to stick around the quadrennial event. Their best finish at a World Cup, however, came in the 2015 edition, during which they reached the quarterfinals whilst also defeating England once in the group stages. Their journey only came to an end, once they locked horns against neighbouring rivals, India in the quarterfinals. Heading into the ICC spectacle, the Tigers seem to be a well-balanced team and their fierce bowling attack might be their strong point. Here are the five key players of the Bangladeshi team the world needs to look out for: 1. Mashrafe Mortaza © Reuters Captain Mashrafe Mortaza has to be the most valuable cricketer in the Bangladeshi lineup. The amount of experience he has gathered in the past 18 years ever since he made his debut against Zimbabwe in 2001, will come to good use here. It is under his leadership that the talent-laden yet fragile team has done whatever good that they have in international cricket. The right-arm pacer has been a part of 209 ODI matches and has taken 265 wickets with a moderate economy of 4.82. While the fast bowler's numbers have become worse with time and he missed out on a couple of matches thanks to multiple knee injuries, his presence in the roster has to do a lot with his ability to guide the younger players. 2. Shakib Al Hasan © Reuters The ODI tri-series between Bangladesh, Ireland and the West Indies not only saw the team make a comeback to their form after being dominated by New Zealand in February but also saw the rise of Shakib Al Hasan to claim the top spot in the ICC ODI rankings for all-rounders. Having played in 198 ODIs throughout his career, Hasan has scored 5717 runs and has taken 249 wickets too. In 2019 so far, he has played three ODIs, hit 140 runs and has taken two wickets. 3. Rubel Hossain © Reuters The 29-year-old pacer is known for his ability to limit the batsmen from putting up big numbers, especially during batting power plays and death overs. The presence of Hossain in the team gives Bangladesh the high pace that they otherwise lack. Getting alongside Mustafizur Rahman, he can produce some great bowling spells late in the game. Ever since he debuted for his team as a teenager, a decade ago, Rubel has played in 97 ODI games and picked up 123 wickets in the process and is currently ranked at the 63rd spot in ICC Rankings for ODI bowlers. 4. Mahmudullah Riyad © Reuters After Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah Riyad is expected to do wonders both as a batsman and with the ball. Due to the lack of good hitters in the sixth and the seventh spot in the Bangladeshi batting order, Riyad might feel a certain amount of pressure while heading towards the crease if the batsmen ahead of him fail to provide. He has played 175 ODIs till date in which he has made 3757 runs while also taking 76 wickets. IN 2019, Mahmudullah has only participated in six games, during which he has made 120 runs and scalped just one wicket. 5. Tamim Iqbal © Reuters Yet another veteran with World Cup experience in his pocket. After making his debut in 2007, Iqbal was called for the World Cup 2007 and then made a return for the 2015 World Cup. As a vital cog of the Tigers' batting order, Iqbal has spent more than a decade's worth of time on the crease. In 193 ODI games, Iqbal has scored a staggering 6636 runs and is having a great 2019 season during which he has scored 186 runs in just seven innings which includes two half-tons and an 80-run-performance.
  5. Ever since winning the 2015 World Cup, the Australian cricket team has found themselves amidst controversies, bad reputation and spiralling form. The suspension of two of their finest cricketers in Steve Smith and David Warner in the infamous sandpaper gate in South Africa last year, the resignation of Darren Lehmann after the news of a toxic environment in the dressing room broke out and Cricket Australia being reprimanded for forcing the athletes to “win at all costs”, are only some of the problems that shook the core of cricket Down Under in the past year or so. Nonetheless, Australia looked like their old self during their tour to India when after losing two ODIs, they made an unbelievable comeback to win the next three and the series too, and they achieved this feat without Warner and Smith. Now that they are here, they might just be able to give major teams like England and India a run for their money if they want to take away the title from the reigning champions. Here's a list of five Australian key players this World Cup: 1. David Warner © Reuters Let's not kid ourselves here. Despite being suspended for a year, David Warner is probably the best batsman on the Australian roster right now and has enough skills to single-handedly take Australia to a respectable finish this World Cup. Making appearances in 106 ODIs for his country, Warner has scored a total of 4343 runs. Being one of five players with prior World Cup experience, Warner starting the batting order with skipper Aaron Finch will help the team be better. 2. Aaron Finch © Reuters Being the captain of the reigning championship team brings added pressure on Aaron Finch's shoulders. However, keeping in mind his new found form in the ODI format against Pakistan surely gives him a sense of confidence in his leadership. Although Finch had a great opening partner in Usman Khawaja, Warner certainly is an upgrade and will allow Finch to settle in and play in a more composed manner. In his career, the skipper has played in 109 ODIs and scored 4052 runs and has had a great year till now, putting up 634 runs in 13 ODIs. 3. Pat Cummins © Reuters With Mitch Starc and Josh Hazlewood sitting out of the competition due to injuries, Pat Cummins will be leading the bowling attack with the new ball with which he has been absolutely deadly, bringing in variations in his speed, swing and seam. Having played in just six ODIs, Cummins' bowling performance has been exceptional as he has bagged 17 wickets while giving away a moderate 4.39 runs per over. His middle to lower order batting prowess also adds to the Australian batting muscle and could be useful if his side finds itself in wicket-trouble. 4. Glenn Maxwell © Reuters Be it T20s or ODIs, when the captain of the fielding side sees Glenn Maxwell walk up to the pitch and practice his big shots in the air, he ought to send a couple of his boys to the boundary. Such is the terror of this 30-year-old athlete. In the bowling department, Maxwell is ready to take the charge for the spinners alongside Adam Zampa. His strike rate during the previous World Cup was a scary 182 and has scored 2,700 in 100 matches that he has been a part of throughout his career. In 2019, Maxwell has scored 458 runs in 12 ODI matches. 5. Mitchell Starc © Reuters One of the scariest bowlers of the cricketing world, Mitchell Starc is bound to leave a mark in England and Wales this World Cup. Even though he played his previous ODI in November 2018, his ability to deliver the yorker along with enough skills to hold on to the crease as a lower-order batsman make him a perfect fit for the Australians. Starc has played 75 ODIs and picked 145 scalps including five mind-boggling 5-wicket hauls. He also happens to be the only Australian bowler to make the squad for both 2015 and 2019.
  6. Rajkumar Gupta has a rather unique way of projecting real stories on the big screen. This time, he chose to dig out the arrest of India's Osama Bin Laden, Yasin Bhatkal or as he is called in the movie, Yusuf. Despite its flaws, 'India's Most Wanted' does make it a point to keep you hooked and engaged in how a small group of officers from the Intelligence Bureau, carried out India's most covert mission. In bits and pieces, Rajkumar Gupta has given us crucial information about the serial blasts that ripped across the country over these years and the mastermind behind it all. © Fox Star Studios The movie has shunned the entire idea of how one thinks an IB officer should be. Instead of going all guns ablaze with James Bond-esque fight scenes and lines dripping with vengeance, 'India's Most Wanted' has completely normalized the scenario, giving it a very raw and realistic aesthetic and you have five very normal-looking people who have normal lives, taking up the almost impossible mission of finding Yusuf. Let me tell you the movie is most definitely worth the watch, despite falling short in a few areas. The first half sets the base for the plot to develop and can get a little dragged-out at some points. But it's the second half of the movie that is more interesting as we get to see the real meat of the story. Of course, the movie could have been better, considering Rajkumar Gupta was the captain of the ship. But, let's take a moment to applaud the director's attempt at something different. Arjun Kapoor has also tried something that's way too different from his regular roles and has surely tried to break out of his shell. He has a certain calmness in his attitude as the man leading the manhunt for the wanted terrorist, but at times, you feel he is a little disinterested and some scenes have come out in a very linear way. If you are wondering the supporting cast has nothing to add to, then you are probably wrong. They have done a brilliant job. The script has been written in such a way that every character has its own space and is justified. Arjun's character Prabhat has got the perfect shield from the supporting cast. The entire mission is carried out in Nepal and somewhere, the movie also goes into details about the relationship between India and the neighbouring nation. Cinematography is one of the major highlights of the movie, as it has beautifully captured the scenic beauty of Nepal. I feel that Sudev Nair, who played the role of India's Most Wanted, Yusuf, could have been a bit more believable. The introduction set for him is pretty strong in the movie, but when you see him at the end, you feel as if all efforts have gone down the drain, as he isn't that convincing as India's Osama. Obviously, I won't give away the climax but I feel that somewhere there the storyline took a fall and failed in packing the perfect punch. Arjun has delivered a very different sort of character, but in the climax, I feel he failed a bit in coming through. Dialogues in the movie follow a pattern. Sometimes, you would feel they are on point and give you goosebumps and sometimes, they seem rather off the mark. But, the idea is not to show jingoism on the screen. Despite all its shortcomings, the movie still managed to instil faith and hope in our Nation and its forces, who may not always get the credit for serving the country. In conclusion, the movie is worth the watch and is a fitting tribute to India's unsung heroes.
  7. Making their second appearance at the ICC World Cup this May, the Afghanistan cricket team is full of surprises with young talents taking the competition to another level altogether. Even though the Afghanistan Cricket Board shockingly sacked the experienced captain, Asghar Afghan less than a month before the tournament began, they still have a lot of talent in the squad. Here is a list of the five key players of the team who can make a difference during their World Cup journey: Mohammad Shahzad © Reuters The righty wicketkeeper-batsman, Mohammad Shahzad is an explosive batsman who can change the momentum of the game in a hurry. Having made his ODI debut a decade ago in a game against the Netherlands, Shahzad has scored a total of five centuries and 13 half-centuries. Opening the batting order to Afghanistan, a lot will be riding on Shahzad's shoulders with the hopes of providing his side with a flying start, especially under pressure against big teams like India and England. Rashid Khan © Facebook/Rashid Khan One of the top all-rounders of international cricket, Rashid Khan made a staggering start to his ODI career against Zimbabwe in 2015 and has never looked back since. Till date, Khan has played 57 ODIs and picked 123 wickets in his relatively young journey in international cricket with an amazing economy rate of just 3.90 runs per over. Mohammad Nabi © Reuters The most experienced player on the Afghan roster in ODI cricket, Nabi has participated in 111 matches and has scored a total of 2565 runs with the career best individual score of 116 runs. Coming in to bat in the middle of the batting order Nabi is accustomed to playing under pressure and leading his side to victory. In the bowling department, Nabi has bagged 118 scalps with a good economy rate of 4.25 runs per over. Alongside Rashid Khan, Nabi will be leading the Afghanistan bowling attack as well as act as a last resort on the crease, in case things go south for the team. Gulbadin Naib © Reuters Being promoted to the role of the captain of the Afghan side, Gulbadin Naib was put under the microscope. The selectors clearly feel that Naib's medium-fast bowling would fit perfectly with the conditions of the English pitches. Naib is also believed to be comfortable batting on any position across the order which is an added benefit of having him as the decision maker of the squad. Ever since his debut in 2011, Naib has scored 807 runs off 52 matches with a personal best of 82*. As far as his bowling is concerned, the skipper has 40 wickets under his name. Hazratullah Zazai © Twitter/Hazratullah Zazai Making his World Cup debut, the 21-year-old batsman, Hazratullah Zazai is famous for hitting big shots and has come to be known as “the Afghan Chris Gayle”. His the six one-dayers that he has played, Zazai has scored 155 runs with the career best of 67 and a strike rate of 106.89. Opening the Afghan innings alongside Mohammad Shahzad, Zazai may turn out to be that X factor that allows the team to create upsets by defeating at least a couple of top-tier teams.
  8. The OnePlus 7 Pro already sounds like the perfect smartphone ever by the Chinese company as its launch is scheduled for next week. OnePlus has now confirmed that the OnePlus 7 Pro will have an HDR10+ display in addition to the 90Hz refresh rate on the panel. The display on the OnePlus 7 Pro has already been awarded an A+ grade by DisplayMate however, the inclusion of HDR10 takes the smartphone even further. © Twitter Currently, only the Galaxy S10/S10 Plus supports HDR10+ on its screens and the OnePlus 7 Pro will be the second smartphone in India to have support. It is the perfect display for users who love to watch video content on the go. Currently, platforms like Amazon Prime, Netflix and even YouTube have HDR compatible shows which should be supported by the OnePlus 7 Pro. OnePlus clarified that it's not ready to share OTT partnerships as of now. HDR10+ is known to adjust the contrast and the dynamic range on HDR content. OnePlus says, since “it is an open format, it's license and royalty free and therefore easily adoptable by manufacturers and content producers with quality maintained through an HDR10+ certification and logo program.” © Twitter “HDR10+ is the future of not just television displays, but also smartphone displays as well. We're glad we are leading the ranks in sharing quality technology with the world.” says OnePlus CEO Pete Lau. © Twitter The launch event for the OnePlus 7 series is scheduled to take place on 14th May and will be held in three cities i.e. New York, London and Bangalore and will start at 8:15 PM IST. According to rumours, the OnePlus 7 Pro is going to have a QHD+ 90 Hz AMOLED display and will be relatively cheaper than flagship devices. The OnePlus 7 Pro is rumoured to have a starting price of Rs 49,999 for 6GB + 128GB model. You can read more about pricing leaks here.
  9. Vicky Kaushal needs no introduction. His brilliant performance and choice of films work as his business card for him. After proving his mettle to the world, the actor is now all set to take up another challenging role. Kaushal will play legendary freedom fighter and martyr, Sardar Udham Singh in his upcoming biopic. The movie will narrate the story of the revolutionary who assassinated Michael O'Dwyer, who was the Lt. Governor of Punjab when the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre took place. Instagram Today, the actor shared his first look from the movie where he is seen standing on the streets of St. Petersburg, with a fierce gaze (that can scare the wits out of you) and a scar on his face. Directed by Shoojit Sircar, the biopic is expected to release in 2020. As Vicky Kaushal gears up to stun his fans with another stellar performance, here's a look at some of his best movies so far that made us shout 'How's the Josh?' each time we watched him on screen: 1. Uri: The Surgical Strikes The amount of love this movie has received speaks volumes about the brilliant acting of Vicky Kaushal and that of every other actor who was a part of it. After all, there is a reason why 'How's The Josh?' became such a huge thing and almost everyone was using the dialogue. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film was based on the Indian Army's surgical strike across the Line of Control (LoC), as a retaliation to the 2016 Uri attack. RSVP Movies 2. Manmarziyaan Kaushal played the role of a guy named Vicky, a handsome part-time DJ who loses his girlfriend to another guy because of his commitment issues. This movie explained the dynamics of a relationship and love like nothing else. Phantom Films 3. Sanju Vicky Kaushal's character Kamlesh, aka Kamli, wasn't just a supporting character. He was one of the strongest characters in the film and in Sanjay Dutt's life. He stayed with Sanjay Dutt through thick and thin and continued to support him even when the world turned against him. Vicky's flawless performance made all of us feel that both Kamli and Vicky are the kind of friends that every person deserves in their lives. Fox Star Studios 4. Raazi 'Raazi' was owned by Alia Bhatt, but Vicky Kaushal too caught our attention with his portrayal of Iqbal Syed, a commander in the Pakistan army. His struggle of choosing between his feelings for his wife (who was an Indian spy) and his duties towards his country touched all our hearts. Dharma Productions 5. Masaan Vicky made his Bollywood debut with 'Masaan' in 2015 and his performance left even the stalwarts awestruck. Vicky played a boy from the Dom community, whose family works at the cremation ghats. His transition from a young passionate guy in love to someone in immense grief over losing someone was flawless. 10. Millennials can attest to the fact that the good ol' idiot box has played a vital role in developing and exposing us to the world. Well, the times have changed now, and Samsung thinks it's time the TVs around us change too. The company has made a vertical TV in an effort to woo social media-addicted millennials. That's right. It's a real thing and it's called the Sero. © Samsung Sero is Samsung's new 43-inch vertical TV that ships with Bixby assistant built-in. According to Samsung, it made this vertical TV to appeal to younger buyers who want to watch vertical videos. Don't worry though. Sero is not just a vertical TV. It's possible to flip the screen and watch horizontal content too. The TV comes with a built-in screen mirroring functionality, so you can also beam videos from, say, your phone or tablet to the TV. There's also a 60-watt speaker for music streaming. © Samsung Sero, in case you're wondering, will be available in South Korea by the end of May, and it will carry a price tag of about $1,600. Should you buy it? Well, if you're into TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat and other vertical videos on YouTube, then by all means yes. There's no info about its availability outside Korea, but it'll be interesting to see how it's received in other markets.
  11. Imagine losing anything in the Pacific Ocean! Most of us would write it off and forget about the item we lost. That's what happened to surfer Robert Bainter when he lost his Apple Watch while body surfing a large wave. He picked up his arm and his Apple Watch was missing. © YouTube Bainter surfs at Huntington Beach, California and was able to reunite with his lost Apple Watch six months later. The shocking thing about his discovery was that the Apple Watch was still working even after being lost at sea for six months. © Pexels Robert Bainter told KTLA 5 TV “This thing has been my good luck charm, I would use it quite often to show the surf and how fast you were going. It would even show you where you were on the beach.” Bainter used Apple's Find My iPhone app to find his Apple Watch every time he visited the same beach. However, he could not find it in time and six months had passed. He got an unlikely call from a man who said he had found his watch. It was found almost 5 KMs away from where he originally lost the Apple Watch. © Pexels The Apple Watch was able to survive deep undersea for six months however prolonged exposure to salt water made the screen a bit hazy. The Apple Watch comes with a Water Lock mode which basically seals up all the ports to avoid entry of water. It can only be disabled by scrolling on the dial as it ejects any excess water in the ports. It is possible that when Bainter's Apple Watch was lost at sea, the mode might have been turned on when he was surfing. *Images for representation purposes only. Source: KTLA 5 TV
  12. Salman Khan is known for his mega-blockbuster films that vary across the board when it comes to storylines or character sketches. However, there are a few striking elements in every 'Bhai' movie that are recurrent and feature in almost all of his films. (c) T-Series The trailer for Salman's upcoming film 'Bharat' was released yesterday and amidst all the speculation about the plot and rising action of the film, we noticed that it basically seemed like a mix of Salman Khan's top 5 movies in recent times, and et voila, you have 'Bharat' served with a garnishing of patriotism to cash-in on the dominant sentiment of the audience at this point of time. Listed below are a few tropes that we can expect to see in 'Bharat' which are just like 5 of Salman's top movies: 1. A Series Of Action-Packed Sequences (c) T-Series Take any of his top films in recent years, lots of senseless action that often forgoes all understanding of science and physics, is vital to every Bhai movie. Be it all the action-packed sequences in 'Tiger Zinda Hai' or 'Kick' there's no denying that action sells it big for Salman movies. We saw similar glimpses in the trailer of 'Bharat' when Salman is seen ploughing the 'bad boys'. 2. Glitzy Item Song (c) T-Series Think of Fevicol Se in 'Dabangg 2' or Swag Se Swagat in 'Tiger Zinda Hai', 99 per cent of Bhai movies will feature an item number one way or another. Somehow, people have come to associate them to every Salman Khan movie and 'Bharat' seems to promise something along the same lines with the passing glimpse of Disha Patani and Nora Fatehi's moves in the trailer. 3. Hero Who Saves The Day (c) T-Series It's exactly how every Bhai movie unravels. Regardless of all the struggles and setbacks along the way, Salman's character always manages to save the day and comes out a hero. The very beginning of the 'Bharat' trailer hints at this very possibility. Bharat will save the day and uphold the meaning of his name. 4. Larger Than Life Portrayals (c) T-Series We don't think anyone can cross-question us on this one. Be it 'Race 3' or 'Kick' or 'Dabangg', every character Salman portrays bears an air of being larger than life. A sort of grandeur comes with Bhai's characters and they make him seem almost aspirational, and Bharat seems no different. 5. The Love-Hate Relationships (c) T-Series Another recurring trope in Bhai movies is love-hate relationships that add the right amount of spice required to lure the audience. The hits and misses with the love interest, the wooing and anguish, Bhai's films have got it all. Salman and Katrina's journey in 'Bharat' seems to have the same elements in all probability. 6. The Emotional Baggage (c) T-Series Be it in 'Dabangg' or 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan', most of Salman's characters have a tragic backstory and their emotional baggage helps to add fuel to the fire that burns in their hearts. 'Bharat' which is set against the backdrop of partition is giving us a similar feeling. 7. The Underdog's Uprising (c) T-Series But of course, with all that emotional baggage, you might expect someone to buckle and give up. But not Bhai. He (or rather his characters) are simply not wired that way. They will always rise from the ashes, just like Bharat does and come to fulfil every dream they hold in their hearts. 8. The Hook Step (c) T-Series Fans still haven't gotten over Salman's towel hook step in the song Jawani Phir Na Aaye from 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi', while Hud Hud Dabangg and Swag Se Swagat are the more recent ones to stick. We are sure fans can expect to have one such hook step from 'Bharat' took. 9. A Hero-Worthy Dialogue (c) T-Series Remember “Mujhpe ek ehsaan karna ke mujhse koi ehsaan matt karna” from 'Bodyguard', or “Ek baar jo maine commitment ka di, uske baad tho main khud ki bhi nahin sunta” from 'Wanted'? These dialogues became almost as famous as these films themselves! Even the trailer for 'Bharat' opens with such dialogues - “Jitne safed baal mere sir or daadi mein hain, usse kayi zyada rangeen meri zindagi rahi hai” or “Jawani humari ekdum jaaneman thi”.
  13. In what initially felt like a show completely run by the home team, Rajasthan Royals, the young guns of Delhi Capitals were successful in snatching the win from right under their noses as opener Prithvi Shaw and keeper-batsman Rishabh Pant along with veteran Shikhar Dhawan shine in the second innings of the match. The Capitals looked in the winning attitude ever since the beginning and an impressive to of 191 felt like a rather comfortable chase, especially with the kind of opening partnership established by two of the more talented batsmen who have represented Team India in the past. With Shaw's strategic yet powerful batting and Dhawan's brutal beating, the duo was able to post a 50-run partnership in less than six overs. .@SDhawan25 REACHES HIS FOURTH FIFTY OF THIS @IPL SEASON! ðª GABBAR, WE LOVE YOU! ð#RRvDC #ThisIsNewDelhi #DelhiCapitals pic.twitter.com/43h5MaIgyV — Delhi Capitals (@DelhiCapitals) April 22, 2019 Once Gabbar was dismissed by keeper Sanju Samson in a cheeky stumping and Delhi skipper Shreyas Iyer was forced to leave the pitch early, it was Rishabh Pant's time to hold the fort with his buddy, Shaw. The 19-year-old continued to stick to the crease for enough time for Pant to comfortably settle in, while also scoring at his own pace to keep the contest at hand. Scoring 78 off just 36 balls, Pant played a brilliant match-winning knock and was rewarded for his performance with the 'Man of the Match' award as the two went on to establish a 53-run-partnership in 31 balls. The camaraderie was seen yet again when the duo was asked to interview one another after the match. “I was really confident because you (Prithvi) were also playing by my side. I thought we would finish the game together,” Pant told his teammate. Pant also described the winning moment when he finished the game with a six and the team's special advisor, Sourav Ganguly lifted him in celebration. With the heroic display of “showing up in the crunch”, the young duo helped their franchise reach atop the IPL Points Table, going two points ahead of the reigning champions, Chennai Super Kings. The same team that ranked last in the league a year ago, are at the top now. Maybe changing their name did bring them good luck, huh?
  14. 'Games of Thrones' is literally everywhere now. It's everywhere on social media, it's taken over our YouTube sub boxes and it's all over the news portals too. It's clearly a great time to be 'Game of Thrones' fan. But what about those people who don't really care about the show? What if you don't care who gets killed and who sits on the Iron Throne? Yes, it's totally cool to be someone who doesn't care about 'Game of Thrones'. So, what to do when it's the only show everyone seems to be talking about and you want to watch something different? Well, don't worry! We've got you covered. Here are five other shows you can watch if you don't care about 'Game of Thrones' - 1. Vikings © History Channel 'Vikings' is a great show to watch if you don't really like 'Game of Thrones', but want to watch something with conquests and sword fights. The plot of 'Vikings' isn't as complicated to understand as, say, 'Game of Thrones', but there's still a lot to look forward to. It tells the tale of a Norse hero Ragnar Lothbrok on his journey to becoming a Scandinavian king. The story is set in a medieval era, and the show does a phenomenal job of representing it with costumes and sets. Also, the cast has done a commendable job and the character development is on point too. Where to watch: Netflix 2. Outlander © Netflix 'Outlander' is yet another period drama, which should definitely be on your watch list. It's based on the novels by Diana Gabaldon, and it follows a World War II nurse who finds a portal (yes, a portal to travel in time) to 1743 Scotland. It's a show which combines historic action and drama with some interesting tidbits of time travel. Unlike the 'Game of Thrones' series, the books are a quick read, which makes this show all the more interesting. If you end up missing something on the show or you feel like getting a better understanding of the things happening on the show, then it's very easy to catch up. Where to watch: Netflix 3. Westworld © HBO 'Westworld', when it came out back in 2016, was one of the most-discussed shows. Literally, it was everywhere. In case you don't know, it's a sci-fi series set in a futuristic theme park where celebrities and wealthy people show up to bring their wild west fantasies to life. We're two seasons in, and the show just keeps on getting more interesting. Guess what? It looks like it's only going to get crazier from here since it looks the life-like host robots are up to something. The show is due for the third season, but it's not coming anytime soon. So, you still have a lot of time to catch up. Where to watch: Hotstar 4. The 100 © Netflix What do 'Game of Thrones' and 'The 100' have in common? They both are shows in which no one is safe. So, if you're planning on watching this show, then make sure that you don't get attached to any of the characters. That, however, is the fun part. 'The 100' is based on the Kass Morgan young adult series, but it's no longer following the original storyline and has now become a thing of its own. The show is about a nuclear apocalypse, where the remaining bunch of people are living in a space station. When the station's life support starts showing the signs of failure, they send 100 young prisoners to determine alternate safe shelters. Where to watch: Netflix 5. Frontier © Netflix Honestly, you can watch this show just for Jason Momoa. As Khal Drogo, he got killed off fairly quickly in 'Game of Thrones' and you can get your Khal Drogo fix from this show. 'Frontier' is essentially a show about the 18th-century North American fur trade, where the protagonist takes on Hudson's Bay Company. Where to watch: Netflix
  15. The long weekend is here and in case you're not doing anything, just being a couch potato, nursing bad health or loaded with work which barred you from leaving town, then my guess is that like most of us, binge-watching will be the only plan you'll have. Here are 5 interesting suggestions for you for this weekend: 1. Hanna- This drama series follows a 15-year-old girl, Hanna who is being hunted down by a CIA agent. This dark show could be a good binge watch for you! 2. The OA 2- Brit Marling is back with her brilliance. If you followed Prairie and her friends travelling across dimensions of time in the 1st season and were left shook with what followed, this one is more layered and complicated like something you didn't imagine. 3. McMafia- Nawaz fans already devoured it last year but in case you haven't, this is a good show to binge watch. The BBC drama has Nawaz playing a Mumbai importer, Dilly Mahmood. The series revolves around Alex Goldman who is brought up by Russian exiles. Makes for a good binge watch. 4. Homecoming: A Film By Beyoncé- You don't need any more reasons to watch the madness and the sheer dedication that goes behind the planning of a Beyoncé concert. This is basically a testament of her persona, just watch it already. 5. Our Planet- This series explores the wonders of the world in eight parts. This insane project was in the works for over 4 years and was shot in over 50 countries. Just prepare to be mesmerised.
  16. The Apple Watch has some handy features that have helped save lives in the past. The Apple Watch Series 4 has a new feature called “Fall Detection” which basically detects when the user takes a hard fall. The feature taps the user's wrists and sounds an alarm so that it can catch a bystander's attention. Having said that, you're not always around people that can help which is why the fall detection feature can also notify local emergency services. © Apple The way it works is that if after taking a fall a user does not respond or is unconscious for more than a minute, the Apple Watch directly contacts emergency services and sends your location to the authorities. This feature helped save a Norwegian man's life a few months ago. © Apple The feature came in handy yet again when an 80-year-old woman fell in her apartment in Haidhausen, Munich. The woman fell and lost consciousness which in turn resulted in an automatic call being placed to Emergency Services. This is what the Munich Fire Department had to say: “Last night, an 80-year-old woman fell into her apartment and, thanks to her watch, unconsciously dropped off a necessary emergency call. Her watch was equipped with a fall detection system and alerted the emergency services after the fall. A dispatcher in the integrated control centre accepted the emergency call. He heard a band announcement telling him that a person had fallen heavily. Likewise, the clock transmitted the coordinates of the scene of the accident. The police used the data to identify an address to which an ambulance had been alerted. The ambulance crew found that the door was locked and the retiree could not open it. Then they called for the fire department, which opened the apartment door by force. During this action, the smartwatch alarmed the son, who had deposited his phone number as an emergency number. Since the woman was not injured, the ambulance crew cared her only until the arrival of the son. He took over the further care.” © Apple Not only did the Apple Watch notify emergency services, but it also notified the woman's son who arrived in time to see her get treated. The woman did not require hospitalisation because of the timely response by the Emergency Services. Had there been no Apple Watch, the injuries could have been severe, as the woman was unconscious. 17. Finally, the wait for 'Game of Thrones' season 8 premiere is over and most of us have already witnessed what goes on ahead in the series. If you haven't seen the episode yet (and I wonder why), then let me warn you this article contains heavy spoilers and you may want to consider reading it. The first episode of season 8 has everything elemental. From Jon Snow's return home, with the queen by his side, to infamous dragon rides across Winterfell, everything was placed in a manner that was in accordance from one revelation to another. The revelations made may have been small in gravity for now, but they were very impactful to further build the story and the characters. © HBO The most obvious element of episode 1 were the string of dysfunctional family reunions that took place, once Jon entered Winterfell with his troop. Some were very overwhelming (like imagine seeing your brother after seven years), while some were just oddly strange. Here's a list of the most looked-forward to reunions in season 8, episode 1 of 'Game of Thrones'. (1) Jon Snow & Arya Stark © HBO This was one of the most overwhelming parts of the episode, at least for me. When Jon was standing in front of the Weirwood tree, Arya sneaked up from behind and gave him a hug. It hits you the most when you realise the last time the two saw each other. It was before Jon left for the wall and handed Arya her sword, Needle. This time around when he noticed Needle on her, he asked her if she's ever used it and she said 'once or twice'. Well, it's only time till Jon finds out how many times Arya has actually used Needle. (2) Jon Snow & Bran Stark © HBO Jon and Bran last met before Jon left for the wall and at the time Bran was on bed rest, recovering from his fatal fall. Jon wasn't allowed to spend sufficient time with him before leaving as his mother, Catelyn Stark didn't allow Jon the time. So you can only imagine the emotion that went into this reunion! When Jon saw Bran, he went straight for his forehead to kiss it but realised the reunion was stunted considering Bran is now the Three-Eyed-Raven. Even so, we could see Bran was happy to see Jon and also shared his fair warning about the White-Walkers marching to Winterfell. (3) Arya Stark & Gendry © HBO The last time the two were seen together in season 3 were when they joined the 'Brotherhood', before Gendry was taken by Melisandre to Stannis Baratheon. But this reunion was playful and flirtatious and both seemed rather content and happy to find each other alive. Arya also asked Gendry to make a weapon for her and I think it's the most romantic thing an assassin can ask her crush to make, especially if he happens to be a blacksmith. We're not sure yet what the weapon entails but we do know it has two pointy-ends, according to the design Arya handed over to Gendry. According to GoT's weapon master, Tommy Dunne, there's one creation in season 8, which is an absolute showstopper and I wonder if it's the weapon Gendry makes for Arya. (4) Arya Stark & Sandor Clegane aka The Hound © HBO Arya and The Hound have had a rather love-hate relationship but by the looks of it, The Hound is glad to see Arya alive and that's what he tells her too- "You're a cold hard bitch, aren't you? Guess, that's why you're still alive". The last time the two were seen together was in season 4, when a duel between The Hound and Brienne of Tarth left the Hound completely wounded. Arya escaped his companionship soon after, leaving him to die. (5) Jon Snow & Samwell Tarly © HBO With great difficulties, after escaping the Citadel, Samwell, Gilly and Little Sam come to Winterfell to fight for Snow. Sam learns about the death of his father and his brother by the hands of the queen and disappointed and dejected, he runs in to Jon, who he last saw at the Night's Watch. Their reunion is the most pivotal part of the show, as Sam reveals Jon's true identity, that he's not Ned Stark's son and neither is he a bastard. He is in fact Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen's legitimate child and the rightful heir to the Iron Throne. This scene surely gave us goosebumps! (6) Sansa Stark & Tyrion Lannister © HBO This is one of the most rewarding reunions in the episode as it was bound to happen and Tyrion had to see how Sansa has actually evolved. And he does notice that and states "I underestimated you". The two were last seen in season 4, at the memorable wedding of Joffrey with Margaery Tyrell, after which Sansa fled with Littelfinger. Their conversation is short-lived in this episode but quite impactful. It tells us Sansa has truly evolved and that she knows Cersei better than anyone else. Even her own brother. That's because while Tyrion is convinced Cersei is on their side and that the Lannister army will march to Winterfell, Sansa is well aware of her schemes and knows for certain Cersei won't do such a thing as she has her own motives and she tells Tyrion the same. (7) Yara Greyjoy & Theon Grejoy © HBO Their reunion wasn't an elaborate deal but it was surely something to look forward to. When Theon arrives to rescue Yara from Euron Greyjoy's clutches, she's relieved to see him alive but also gives him a mighty head-butt (because he abandoned her in the past), before giving him her hand to stand up again. The two flee and head towards the Iron Islands, a definite place where she can stand guard for the folks in the North, as the White-Walkers supposedly can never reach the Iron Islands. She figures Theon wants to go back to Winterfell and assist Snow in the war and she tells him to do just that. (8) Jaime Lannister & Bran Stark © HBO Leaving the best for the last, this one reunion was the most superimposing and anticipated one. The two obviously met in season one, where Bran, a little boy climbed one of the towers of Winterfell to find Jaime & Cersei in a, well, a compromising position. Fear of their relationship being revealed to the rest of the family, Jaime pushed Bran down the tower, making him loose both his legs. I am not sure what the two will even talk about, or if they ever will, but I have a feeling Bran will tell Jaime he isn't that little boy anymore and that he's the Three-Eyed-Raven and that it probably doesn't matter, hopefully forgiving Jaime?! Well, Jaime's character has been the most evolving one out of the lot, so maybe he should be forgiven. So, there you go! 8 most endearing, overwhelming yet strange reunions in the first episode of the final season. We're awaiting some more reunions by the second episode, namely Jon and the Night King. But we're not going to go more in to that. For now, let's just take a week or less to digest this episode first!
  18. The copy contains spoilers. Proceed with caution. In case you missed it, 'Game of Thrones' Season 8, Episode 1 dropped today at 6.30 am. The episode saw the long-awaited reunion of Jon and Arya and the revelation of Jon's true lineage, which we were waiting for since the first season. But here's what we learnt from the premiere of Season 8: long drawn conflicts and mysteries that had troubled us since the beginning are going to unravel and fast. Things are escalating at Winterfell. Jon finally knows about his parents and it matters now what he does with this information which can possibly change the entire vision that Dany has for her Empire. So after watching the first episode, here's what is going to happen next: The trailer's opening shot has Daenerys confronting Jaime, who's just arrived in Winterfell. "When I was a child, my brother would tell me a bedtime story about the man who murdered our father," Dany says in a threatening tone. "And all the things we would do to that man." These two have never seen eye to eye. We know from Dany's past interaction with men that she does not like that it never ends well for them. 1. In the teaser, we've also seen Jamie's glove just lying around, so is it going to be the end of Jamie? But what about Cersei's prophecy then? Will Tyrion kill her then or it won't hold true considering another baby is on the way. 2. There's a sneaky split-second shot of Dany approaching Jon in the crypts of Winterfell—is he about to tell Dany his truth? © HBO 3. Then, we have Jon asking Tormund, "How long do we have?" Tormund responds: "Before the sun comes up tomorrow." And oh boy, does Jon look panicked: © HBO 4. And then we have another couple we've been rooting for, Missandei and Grey Worm kissing: © HBO 5. It looks like the Battle of Winterfell will most likely take place in episode 3 of Season 8 which also happens to be the longest episode of the season with a total running time of one hour 22 minutes. Expect gory deaths is all we can say right now.5 Revelations From 'GOT' Season 8 Episode 2 Promo That We Can't Wait To Watch Next Week
  19. The insane wait to watch the final season of 'Game Of Thrones' is about to end in a week's time when we finally witness some crazy action. Naturally the premiere has happened and the cast is pretty active on social media, contributing to the buzz around the digital premiere. Over the weekend, the good folks at 'SNL' got Kit Harington to host the night and needless to say, it was just as we expected. The best part, however, was the cast members, especially Emilia Clarke budging in and asking for spoilers, which Kit extensively refused to reveal. Adding to humour was the Night King himself asking if they could be friends and Kit's real life wife who had some fun questions to ask as well. Kit is ððð revealing how @GameofThrones ends. #SNL pic.twitter.com/cVyUmFbsGT — Saturday Night Live - SNL (@nbcsnl) April 7, 2019 Now isn't that a big tease because as the days go by, all we want is for 15th April to arrive soon so we can finally get some visual action. Until then, this was the best pre-watch for sure!
  20. Are you sad because the next season of your favourite series is a long time away and you won't be able to see your favourite character for months together? We get you! 2018 brought a lot of great shows with it. Netflix India's first original series, 'Sacred Games', got viewers hooked with its dark, ominous theme and riveting storyline and broke various records in the streaming service arena. The whole country waited with bated breath for Sartaj Singh to find the true culprit and the secrets they had buried. © Phantom Films/Netflix Many new shows graced the screen, old shows came back starring our adored and abhorred characters; 'Stranger Things' was back for Round 2 and so was Midge Maisel (but on the stage). Unfortunately, Dany didn't return last year to treat us with a dragon sighting, though she will do so this year with Jon by her side. © Netflix /21 Laps Entertainment © Amazon Video/Amazon Studios/Dorothy Parker Drank Here Productions We found a few favourites like Bunty from 'Sacred Games' with his omnipresent chhatri and Ganesh Gaitonde who showed us that love should know no bounds. Kukko made a fantastic statement for queer representation on TV. © Phantom Films/Netflix © Phantom Films/Netflix 'Mirzapur', Amazon Prime Video India's answer to 'Sacred Games', with its violent and wicked storyline focusing on arms trafficking, found favor with the audience (but not as much as 'Sacred Games'). With memes galore and unending praise for the characters, 2018 was a surefire year for storytelling and unique characters. I think fictional characters have the best life; they live on in the minds of people long after they have gone away. Talking about characters in these shows, we were provided with a plethora of options which made choosing something to watch extremely difficult and taxing. But the bingers we are, we devoured all these shows like Cersei does with her wine or Ethan did with that chocolate bar on Yom Kippur. 2019 has to carry the legacy of its predecessor and continue the stories of the characters we saw on screen and fell in love with; some good, some bad and some completely mad. With speculations and predictions running high, here are 10 such characters whose life stories we are looking forward to in 2019: Note: Spoilers ahead. This post is chock-block of spoilers. Read at your own risk: 1. Sartaj Singh (Sacred Games): Troubled cop Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan) had a major breakthrough in the final episode of Season 1. Sartaj has gone from strength to strength and grown into a more confident person, a departure from his personality in Episode 1. Now that he has unearthed the secret of the arms trade connected to the Home Minister, what other corruption and crime scams will he uncover? Will he be able to find out who Zoya is? © Phantom Films/Netflix Let's hope he finds out the true motive behind his father's softness for Gaitonde. The more important question is: How is he dealing with Katekar's death? :P Now that has a clear idea of what is to come, will he be able to save the city before it's too late? Seeing that he has only 14 days to do the impossible, we hope that Sartaj's newfound self-assurance works well for him and the people who might be in the danger of a nuclear war. 2. Guruji (Sacred Games): Will the elusive Guruji (Pankaj Tripathi) finally get more time screen? Gaitonde's (supposed?) death qualifies Guruji to become the lead villain in the series. What heinous plans does he have in mind for Mumbai now and will his masterplan work? The curious iconography that Sartaj uncovers is a symbol of Guruji. What does the mandala entail? Does it have a more sinister connotation than hinted? Does he have any links to Zoya Mirza? © Phantom Films/Netflix Gaitonde's third father figure is said to have a meatier part in Season 2. Let's wait to see what fresh hell he has planned for us to witness. 3. Midge Maisel and Susie Myerson (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel): The quirky Mrs. Maisel is coming back with a bang! Midge (Rachel Brosnahan) seems to have finally found a break; she will be opening for singer Shy Baldwin. Now that her family has been let on to the secret, will Midge be attuned to spreading her horizons? How is that going to affect her newly-turned, gone “full-on breaking bad” father, Abe Weissman and her delightfully neurotic momzilla, Rose? What about Benjamin? Will he return to Midge's life? We would love to see how that unfurls. The last episode left out a lot of strings to be tied. An important arc to be seen is whether Midge will get back together with Joel. © Amazon Video/Amazon Studios/Dorothy Parker Drank Here Productions Like Midge, Susie's life seems to be going to a better place. After her altercation with Sophie Lennon, she gets an offer by Sophie to represent her. The image of Susie (Alex Borstein) in a fur coat walking out of Sophie's house with a bewildered expression is the best part of Season 2. Will she accept the offer, or has she done it already? The dynamic in their relationship seems to be a tad bit bitter and we hope we get to see the drama that it will lead to in Season 3. Will Susie and Midge finally be able to earn some money and become famous? We just hope. 4. Ganesh Gaitonde (Sacred Games): Is he really dead or did he have a sort of resurrection planned with Guruji? What was his bunker really for? © Phantom Films/Netflix Whatever he had planned seems to have gone horribly wrong. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is set to return as the OG underbelly king, whether he will tell his story from behind the grave is still uncertain, though we will like to see more of Gaitonde and the story of his rise to power and the years before he returns, after being kidnapped. Also, what was his relationship with Sartaj's father? In any case, Ganesh Gaitonde is one of the most anticipated characters to return to screen in 2019 and people can hardly wait. 5. Daenerys Targaryen, Jon Snow and the Lannister siblings (Game of Thrones): The highly anticipated last season of the show is sure to be the best of the lot. There is a myriad of characters whose storylines intersect and make the intense puzzle complete, but it is these five who are hell-bent on conquering the throne. Jon's arc which has been highlighted since the beginning has become more invigorating. Now that he has sought an alliance with Daenerys, it will be interesting to see how the next events pan out. Will he be able to defeat the Night King? © HBO What will happen when he finds out his true origin of being Aegon Targaryen? Daenerys has always wanted to become the Queen, but how will it affect her stature now that there's another Targaryen alive? That too, her nephew and lover! With one of her dragons on the Night King's side, how will she cope with fighting one of her babies? We already know now that Sansa isn't a great fan of Dany. Things look dismal for her. What is up with Tyrion and his odd behaviour? Are his loyalties shifting? Jaime has left the comfort of the Red Keep and is travelling North. Now that Jaime has left his sister's side will he be joining the Starks? Wine connoisseur, Queen Cersei seems to be content with her illegitimate capture of the throne, but distress has found her in the form of her brother and lover, Jaime leaving her. Is it really Jaime's baby that she is carrying or is it a hoax? Will she actually help fight the war against the White Walkers? Well, we can only know in April. 6. The Gang in Stranger Things (Stranger Things): Eleven is back with the nerd gang of Hawkins and everything seems to be going well. Except, everything is going to change. With Will Byers still afraid after his stint with the monster from Upside Down, Jonathan and Nancy starting a relationship, the story is delving deeper into the sleepy town. Michael is happy, so does Lucas with Max. Everyone seems to be calm. But is it the indication of the storm to come? Important question: What about the mother hen of the group, Steve Harrington? And is he going to try to win Nancy back? We love a love triangle a-brewing. © Netflix/21 Laps Entertainment I hope there are a lot of precious scenes which show the camaraderie and bromance between Steve and Dustin grow even more. Perhaps, he'll teach him how to babysit with perfection! :P Will Hopper and Joyce get together finally? Will Will ever be able to defeat the Demogorgon? One of the most exciting series on the list for sure with the quirkiest of characters. 7. Anne Shirley-Cuthbert (Anne with an E): Anne seems to be growing into quite the intelligent young woman, along with the support of her friends and family. Will we finally see Anne breaking off from her terrible past, whose flashbacks still haunt her? We need to see that. The third season is likely to focus on her education and the other perils growing up brings with it. Just imagine how many fancy, grandiose words she must have learnt, and written the most beautiful of stories. Her budding friendship with Gilbert Blythe is also an important storyline which will be pursued. Also, the chemistry between Anne and Diana is a treat to watch; I suspect both will cook up some new mischief in Green Gables, aided by Jerry. We also want Cole to be back! © Netflix/CBC Watching her grow and prosper, from the young, afraid orphan into the apple of the eyes of Avonlea's people, makes you root for her more strongly. With her radical thinking and unbending spirit, we do hope Anne goes on to become the Anne we love from the books. Coming back in 2019, Anne will be 16 and ready to follow her own path; perhaps she will become like Miss Stacy or an author. 8. Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Margaret (The Crown): Claire Foy's farewell (which was sad, and I still can't believe they replaced her and the other actors) from the show has paved way for Olivia Coleman's reign as the Sovereign. We will see Queen Elizabeth II in her middle-age and how far she has come in her role of safeguarding the Crown. A more mature Elizabeth is sure to change a lot of things around (we hope the Corgis make a comeback :P) and must have become mellower, but only in appearance, not in spirit. Interesting to watch will be her dynamic with the new, female Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher and the unofficial feud which they were rumoured to have. © Netflix/Sony Pictures Television Another intriguing arc will be her growth in her role as Queen and her relationship with her husband which seemed strained in the last season, and her children and their partners, especially Princess Diana. A character who will play a pivotal role hereafter is the willful Princess Margaret (Helena Bonham Carter, previously played by Vanessa Kirby), with her very public divorce to Lord Snowdon. Another blow to the already frail royalty. Carter is sure to play the character with her trademark finesse. © Netflix/Sony Pictures Television 9. Sheila and Joel (Santa Clarita Diet): Sheila Hammond (Drew Barrymore) is still a zombie at the end of Season 2 and there seems to be no cure for it. Joel (Timothy Olyphant) has tried everything in his power to bring her back to her human form but seems to have made peace with the fact that it may not happen. © Netflix So, we hope Sheila remains a zombie for the next season as well and carries on her spirited “criminal hunt-and-eat extravaganza”, with perennial support from the ever-dependable Joel Now that she has a devotee in the form of the police chief Anne, it shouldn't be much of a problem. Will she be able to connect with her daughter Abby, all eccentricities aside? Will Joel ever get his human Sheila back? Wait and watch! 10. Geralt of Rivia (The Witcher): Starring (ex)Superman Henry Cavill, this Netflix original is based on The Witcher book series. Henry looks menacing as Geralt, and rightly so since he plays a monster hunter. The series will chronicle his life as a lonely hunter in the Continent, helping people get rid of monsters, eventually falling in love with the beautiful sorceress, Yennefer of Vengerberg, and adopting Princess Ciri who has a terrible secret which will change his life. © Netflix/Kapital Entertainment We eagerly wait for Cavill, with his charismatic presence to enthral us by portraying a character we love. The amount of time awaiting these characters to grace the screen seems like an eternity. So, which one of them are you waiting for? :D
  21. If you have been an ardent fan of the Indian cricket team in late 1990s and early 2000s, you would despise it whenever Matthew Hayden took to the crease against our bowlers. Hell, even the Men in Blue needed to rattle their brains in order to get this legend of a cricketer to return to the locker room. Such a terror was the former Aussie skipper. However, ever since the Indian Premier League (IPL) began in 2008, Hayden, who batted for Mahendra Singh Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings for the first three years (2008-10) before retiring, was welcomed by the people of Chennai with open arms because of the level of success he brought to the “whistle podu” franchise. Finally, when Hayden took to the commentary box to stay connected to the game he loves so much and show off his speaking skills, he truly became one of our favourites. Also, there is something about tall, international players in 'lungis' that no Indian fan can get over, period. We have to make them one of our own once they have worn lungi in public, it's an unspoken code. Well, that's exactly what the 6'1'' athlete from Down Under did a couple of days ago when he was spotted at Chennai's heavily populated area of T Nagar, shopping. Disguised in fake beard and mustache, Haydos covered his head with a fisherman's hat, looking all dapper in a brand new lungi. View this post on Instagram Bit of undercover shopping at T Nagar Street Mall in Chennai @starsportsindia @iplt20 @chennaiipl A post shared by Matthew Hayden (@haydos359) on Apr 1, 2019 at 8:10am PDT “Bit of undercover shopping at T Nagar Street Mall in Chennai,” wrote the Australian on his Instagram post. But, why go through the trouble to stick fake hairs to your face, only to head out in the public? According to an interview with the Times of India, Hayden was challenged to do so by his buddy and former Australian teammate Shane Warne. “It was a challenge by Warne to buy items for under Rs 1000. That's why I went around the market to buy some lungis, shirts, Rajini sunnies and a watch,” he said. Hayden was also assisted by a local boy, whom he remembered to thank for winning the bet: “I paid the boy Rs 100. And I can proudly tell you that I won the challenge (with Warne).”

  23. 'Love, Death & Robots' is the kind of show that introduces you to an itch you didn't know needed to be scratched. The 18 episode long NSFW anthology is the perfect show for adults with a dark sense of humour, with an adequate thirst for gore and distressing content to go with it. (No wonder they put up 'This film is for messed up audiences' right at the beginning of the trailer.) As soon as we saw the trailer, we were sweating from all the excitement, because this one screamed 'Black Mirror' because of its weird, dark, futuristic demeanour - only cooler because of all the super edgy animation. Love Death + Robots lands on Netflix March 15.ï¸ â¤ï¸ðð¤ #lovedeathandrobots A post shared by Love Death + Robots (@lovedeathandrobots) on Feb 14, 2019 at 9:31am PST When it comes to animation, viewers in general associate it with lighthearted, harmless content. Well get ready for that myth to be busted, and how. LDR probably is the goriest show you have ever watched till now - when it comes to animated content (probably apart from 'Happy Tree Friends'.) View this post on Instagram A post shared by Love Death + Robots (@lovedeathandrobots) on Feb 25, 2019 at 12:08am PST Another distinguishing feature of the series is the sheer variety of animation it entails. Right from the edgy Japanese style to the unbelievably realistic style of animation that you won't believe isn't real, LDR has it all, and it's an absolute visual treat. The *** scene in 'Beyond The Aquila Rift' legit looks like a clip from an adult movie, and the psychedelic hyper-reality in 'Fish Night' is mind-numbingly beautiful. For example, the ending of 'Sonnie's Edge' - the one with the fighting pit with genetically engineered monsters that are controlled by fighters - can be the start of a whole new story. The same holds true for 'Three Robots' - an edgier version of 'Wall E' in a post-apocalyptic, dystopian world. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Love Death + Robots (@lovedeathandrobots) on Mar 5, 2019 at 8:54am PST What stays with you, long after you're done watching the series, are a few episodes like 'Zima Blue' and 'Good Hunting'. While 'Zima Blue' has an incredibly deep philosophical connotation attached, 'Good Hunting' is an amazing mix of Chinese folklore and the vintage steampunk genre, with a heartwarming angle thrown in. 'When The Yogurt Took Over' is a story of when a bowl of sentient yogurt took over the entire world - and it is as crazy as it sounds. 'Alternate Histories' deals with six ways in which the world would have been different, depending on the death of Hitler, in six hilarious ways. The best thing about 'Love, Death, and Robots', however, is its runtime. All the episodes range from 6 to 18 minutes, which makes it a super crisp and easy watch. You can literally binge the entire thing in a day, and not feel dead afterwards. Your brain, however, will take weeks to recover from the madness.
  24. Arguably one of the most consistent teams in the history of the tournament, Mumbai Indians (MI) continues to remain a top contender going into the twelfth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Being the most valuable IPL franchise with a brand value of $106 million, MI always made sure that it stands on the expectations of their fans. They registered their name in the history books as they became the first team to win the IPL title for a record third time. Having a knack of making a comeback and winning matches, MI will certainly look forward to break their title-tie with CSK and bag their record fourth trophy. For their road to glory, here are the top five players to look forward too: Jasprit Bumrah Credit: Instagram - Mumbai Indians IPL is all about spotting Indian talent and giving them the platform, and Jasprit Bumrah is yet another prodigy of IPL. John Wright not only did MI favour but to the Indian Cricket, by spotting spotted the young gun in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy before drafting him into the squad. With time Bumrah has shown continuous improvement on both domestic and international level and now has become best bowler in the world. Being the second highest wicket-taker for MI last season, Bumrah will be all geared up to show his extraordinary skills for his home side once again. Rohit Sharma Credit: Instagram - Mumbai Indians One of the most successful captain in the league, Rohit Sharma, has profoundly proven his worth time and again. Playing an important role in all the title victories and bringing the team back from downfalls, Rohit has been a great tactician in his teams glorious run. Leading his team from the front, the right-handed batsman has the third highest runs in the history of the league and stands on the same position in his scorings of last season. Entering this season with quite a young team, Sharma ji would be expected to give a tough time to their title counterpart, CSK. Yuvraj Singh Credit: Instagram - Mumbai Indians Not having quite a season for the past few years, Yuvraj Singh still manages to get his name in the in Mumbai's list. We know its a long shot but one thing we all would agree with is that once this man starts hitting, there is no coming back for any team. We saw that short stint with both Delhi Daredevils (Delhi Capitals) and Kings XI Punjab in the past season where he performed in a few matches. Hoping to see vintage Yuvraj Singh back is a dream worth living, which not only entertains us fans but will also help in rejuvenating his career. Mayank Markande Credit: Instagram - Mumbai Indians The young leg spinner from Punjab has proved to be a big asset to the Mumbai Indians squad. Dodging the batsman with his unorthodox bowling style, he has impressed one and all with his consistency and his success in the last season. Bagging 15 wickets in 14 matches, Markande has more or less fixed his place in the playing XI. And the thing with leg spinners is that if they strike, they can take down the whole opposition within minutes, and we hope Markande does the same for MI. Hardik Pandya Credit: Instagram - Mumbai Indians The most stylish player in the MI dugout is known to be Hardik Pandya, but the most impressive thing about him is that he made sure that he never let his style affect his game and he even proved the same in the last season. Scoring a decent total of 260 in his 14 matches, he took everyone by surprise by taking 18 wickets and that too with the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mitchell Mclenegan and Mustafizur Rehman being in the team.
  25. Rajasthan Royal is the most balanced side you will find in this season of Indian Premier League. From great batsman to some hard-hitting all-rounders and some world class bowlers, they have made sure that they excel in every department, on paper. Now the real task would be to pan out the action plan on the field. RR did taste the success once when the won the inaugural season of IPL in 2008 under the captaincy of Shane Warne. Since then the team has been a part of many controversies, but despite that, they made a good start in last year's IPL, securing the fourth spot by the end of the season. With a perfectly balanced team, it will be interesting to see how Rahane and his boys complete their puzzled combination of players. Here are the top five players who can play a crucial role for RR: Steve Smith Credit: Instagram - Rajasthan Royals One of the finest Australian batsman in the modern day cricket, Steve Smith, is all set to make a comeback to the IPL after the ball-tampering scandal. Being barred from international cricket and IPL for a year has surely given him some personal space to reconnect with himself. And now being back in the RR, he will definitely want to make his presence count by showing his form, and especially when the World Cup is right over the head. Ajinkya Rahane Credit: Instagram - Rajasthan Royals One of the most dependable batsman in the Rajasthan side, Ajinkya Rahane (Jinx) seems all set to take charge of the team. Jinks will once again look forward to entertaining the crowd with his silken touch in the shortest format of the game. Known for being calm, patient and determined on the field, Rahane has now been the backbone of the RR side for many years. Scoring the third highest runs in his team last season, Rahane will be in full swing to guide from the front. Ben Stokes Credit: Instagram - Rajasthan Royals One of the most consistent all rounders in the league, Ben Stokes has worked as two players in one for RR. Filling the shoes of a full-time bowler and adding to the cavalry of the team, Stokes would be a perfect pick for any team. Now playing his second season with the RR, Stoke will be all set to prove his worth and shut his critics. Jaydev Unadkat Credit: Instagram - Rajasthan Royals Once again the costliest buy of the season, Jaydev Unadkat, is bought by the same team who bought him last year, Rajasthan Royals, but this time for a little less than before, Rs. 8.4 crores. He did perform well last season and took 11 wickets for the team but everyone expected more from such a humongous buy. We hope this time Unadkat can stand tall above all and prove his metal. Jofra Archer Credit: Instagram - Rajasthan Royals Jofra Archer was one of the most exciting picks in the VIVO IPL Player Auction 2018. Fetching a cool INR 7.20 crore, Archer proved to be a complete package for RR. Possessing the strength to whack the ball clean and hard, he can also bowl at flashing speed of 150 kph. Being the highest wicket-taker for his side last season(15), Archer will be expected to once again play a crucial role in this season.
