  1. Since life at home is slowly turning into a drab-trap that we all want out of but can’t find the exit to, there’s always that possibility of finding something interesting in the virtual world. Now, with not only web shows, but also, mainstream Bollywood movies vying for our attention online, the OTT platform appears to be promising more sing now than ever. Yet, in our quest to “keep up” with the pop culture biggies, we often tend to miss out on equally good content that isn't hyped up as much but happens to be well-made and deserving of our time and audience. Here are 5 such crime drama series on the web that more people need to check out, because these are goooood: 1. Apharan © AltBalaji If Gangs of Wasseypur and Sacred Games happen to be on your ‘good stuff’ list, we promise you will love this one. Right from the plot, to the screenplay and direction, Apharan checks all the boxes when it comes to convincing crime series. The touch of suspense and a good dose of action only make this show pack a punch. This Arunoday Singh-Mahie Gill starrer is worth your time. 2. Asur © Voot It seems like not enough people are talking about this crime thriller that tackles serial killings through the lens of mythology and religion. The plot is gripping and the lead pair comprising Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti, put on a convincing show. Its crisp narrative style and riveting script will keep you hooked, although the loose ends here and there make for an added layer of personalisation. 3. Bhaukaal © MxPlayer This one has Mohit Raina and Abhimanyu Singh in leading roles but that isn’t the only thing that makes this show worth your while. Based on the life of IPS officer Navneet Sikera, this series offers a fresh perspective on how ugly crime and terror can get when left unchecked by those who are tasked with maintaining order. Gritty, loud and with a lot of punches thrown in the mix, get ready to feel strongly about the story and the main characters on the show. 4. Rangbaaz © Zee5 Another show based on Gorakhpur gangster Shri Prakash Shukla, Rangbaaz offers an unadulterated take on this man’s life. With names like Tigmanshu Dhulia, Ranvir Shorey and Ravi Kishan backing the show beside Saqib Saleem, watch this one for its great cast, gripping storyline that’s shrouded in politics, crime and real drama. 5. Ek Thi Begum © MxPlayer This show will leave a mark given how craftily the story of Sapna, or should we say, Ashraf who is the real inspiration behind this show, is shown. In real life, Ashraf’s gangster husband Mehmood was killed by Dawood Ibrahim in 1986 and Anuja Sathe pulls off Ashraf’s vengeful act to perfection in the show. Chinmay Mandlekar is equally good as is the fascinating plot and the thrill of revenge and passion. Do you want to recommend any other shows for this list? Let us know in the comments section. 2. Apple is somewhat considered a premium and luxury brand even for technology enthusiasts, however, we’ve seen the company shift away from that image this year. Apple launched the iPhone SE in April 2020 which is the most affordable iPhone the company has launched in years. We could see the Cupertino Giant apply the same strategy for one of their most successful products ever, i.e the Apple Watch. © andres-urena-unsplash The company usually launches a new Apple Watch alongside the latest iPhone every year, however, according to reliable leaker Komiya, Apple Watch SE may also be in the works. Currently, customers can buy the Apple Watch Series 5 and if they are looking for something cheaper, Apple Watch Series 3 repeatedly goes on sale. The fact that an older Apple Watch still manages to sell well may have prompted the Cupertino giant to launch an affordable version of the Apple Watch this year. It may even be a replacement for the Apple Watch 3 with a familiar design and longer battery life. © daniel-canibano-unsplash The leaker detailed that the Apple Watch SE will probably have the same design as the AW3 but will only come in an aluminium version. Having said that, Komiya also detailed the hardware that will be used for the rumoured watch. The new affordable Apple Watch is expected to use the S6 and W3 chips that are currently found on the Apple Watch Series 5. This means that the watch will not have a new design but impressive hardware that currently powers the latest Apple Watch. It is a similar strategy as the iPhone SE, where Apple uses up-to-date hardware but retains the classic design to distinguish with their latest products. How Much Will It Cost? Apple Watch SE - Old design - Replacement of Series 3 - S6 & W4 chip - All 16GB - Only Aluminium model - Digital Crown with haptic feedback? - Bluetooth 5.0 - international SOS calling (only cellular model) - Coming next March - Same prices as Series 3 pic.twitter.com/AV3IApxvnH — Komiya (@komiya_kj) August 16, 2020 The Apple Watch SE is rumoured to cost $199 i.e, around Rs 15,000 which is significantly cheaper than the flagship model. The new Apple Watch could be a new way for Apple to capture the wearables markets further as it would be a gateway for users who do not want to spend huge amounts of cash for Apple products. 3. Have you found yourself sitting in front of your TV or laptop, indecisively scrolling on Netflix figuring out what to watch? Well, you are not alone and it looks like Netflix wants to help. The video streaming service is currently testing a new feature that'll help you, well, find some content to watch. That's right. Netflix is testing a new 'Shuffle Play' button, with which it hopes to help people watch something instead of just scrolling through the content and pass out. © Netflix Some users have reported that they're seeing this new 'Shuffle Play' button on their account. It seems to be appearing on Netflix TV app's user profile screen, right beneath their display image and name. It's also showing up in the left-side menu bar for some users inside their profile. OMG i just realized Netflix added a "play something" feature DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG I'VE WAITED FOR THIS — syd • oh.. wow.. sports • (@sydtheshipper) August 12, 2020 It's not called Shuffle Play, though. Netflix is planning to call it the 'Play Something' button, which seems appropriate. We think it's a great addition to the pool of features that Netflix has added over the years to make our experience better on the platform. Obviously, letting Netflix decide what to watch will not yield the best results but, at least, you won't blame yourself or your friends for recommending a bad show or a movie. It's on the algorithm. But in all honestly, the algorithm probably knows you better than your friends, when it comes to what you like to watch, so there's a good chance that it'll play something that you like. There’s a new Netflix feature called Shuffle Play that picks a show for you and starts it. I’m on show 15 that I immediately stopped and my night looks to be seeing what the Netflix gods will pick next. — MBJet (@mbjet) August 18, 2020 This feature isn't available for all. You may or may not see this particular feature on your profile. But we really hope they finish testing it and push it for all because it's definitely going to come in handy. View the full article

  6. We know that our cricketers love to spend some really good money on their watches, especially, the younger lot. People like Hardik & Krunal Pandya, have often been spotted wearing timepieces that are more expensive than 3-4 BHK flats in New Delhi. Others like MS Dhoni, like to keep things simple, but elegant. © Twitter/yuzi_chahal A few days back the 30-year-old spinner and former chess player announced that he got engaged to Dhanashree Verma, a choreographer and one of the most widely followed dance instructors on YouTube. © Twitter/yuzi_chahal Chahal got engaged in a simplistic, but elegantly embroidered set of kurta & pyjama. Classy, simple and very tasteful, if you ask us.However, the highlight of the outfit was the watch that Yuzvendra is seen wearing. © Rolex Representational Image. 8. A good murder mystery movie is something that really gets us going. The intrigue, the suspense, the story, how did the events unfold - all these things build up to a really wonderful cinematic experience. © Yash Raj Films With Radhika Apte and Nawazzuddin Siddiqui all set to deliver one of the most anticipated murder mystery films, Raat Akeli Hai, we thought why not binge-watch a couple of great but very underrated crime thrillers or murder mystery films that did not get their due at the box office? © Junglee Pictures Who knows, maybe Raat Akeli Hai does ignite that Sherlockian bug in us, and we may want to play detectives over the weekend? If indeed it does, these are the films that you should be watching. © Yash Raj Films Manorama Six Feet Under, 2007 Manorama Six Feet Under is one of the many movies that has made us fall in love with Abhay Deol as an actor. Although it wasn’t a flop per se, it did not do that well at the box office, and barely made its money back in ticket sales. However, people who have seen the film, critics and audiences alike, have been gung ho about it. Vodka Diaries, 2018 Kay Kay Menon is one of the finest actors we have had, who is also one of the least appreciated ones. Vodka Diaries is actually a pretty decent film, which has a very surprising twist at the end. The build-up to the twist is quite intense and intriguing, just like a good murder mystery should be. Certainly worth watching, if you ask us. Ugly, 2014 Everyone loves to rave about Ugly and say just how brilliant a film it was. However, it remains to be one of the most underrated films, especially crime thriller movies. Consider this - in spite of all the love and acclaim that the film got, it had a box office collection of just Rs 6.25 Crores, in 2013. In comparison, a film like Happy New Year Collected about Rs 178 Crores. Just goes on to show why filmmakers make the kind of films they do. Rahasya, 2015 Another brilliantly made film featuring Kay Kay Menon that did not do well at the box office, is Rahasya. If you’re looking for a star cast, the film has it - Kay Kay Menon is accompanied by Tisca Chopra, Ashish Vidyarthi, Mita Vashisht & Ashwini Kalsekar. All of these people are stalwart performers. As for a plot, you really get a masterpiece that keeps you at the edge of the seat. Talvar, 2015 It becomes a little difficult to recommend Talvar at times, mainly because it is the cinematic retelling of a very recent, and controversial incident. However, given that the film is actually very nuanced, it refuses to take a rushed or misinformed stand. Moreover, it has Irrfan Khan in it and t is one of his finest performances. If that’s not compelling enough, we don’t know what else to say. The Stoneman Murders, 2009 Somewhat based on one of the most chilling of serial killings to have ever gripped India, The Stoneman Murders is actually a pretty decent film. Do keep in mind, that it does get a bit gory at times, and the fact that it is based on actual murders, makes it a little difficult to deal with. If not for anything else, do watch it for a stunning performance from Kay Kay Menon, and surprisingly, Arbaaz Khan. Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!, 2015 Finally, we have Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!, possibly one of the best films on sleuths that we have had in a long time. If you really want to understand, just how good a performer Sushant Singh Rajput was, you should give this film a watch. Even otherwise, as we said, it was one of the best films on detectives to have been made in a really long time. Just to give you an idea of just how underappreciated the film was, it did not even cross Rs 50 Crores, in spite of the plethora of rave reviews and critical acclaim it received. 10. The world is becoming a weird place by the day. Never in our wildest dreams could we have imagined that a film that was basically shot like a high budget softcore porn film like 365 Days would find a platform on Netflix. We also couldnât have imagined that the movie would get such a fan following and be so popular. © Netflix If youâve seen the film, you pretty much know why exactly the film is so popular. The erotic thriller, in spite of having a Rotten Tomato score of just 30 per cent currently tops Netflixâs most-watched list. This all thanks to the extremely realistic lovemaking sequences in the film, which, actually is most of the film. Certainly not something that you would like to watch with your family. © Relativity Media This got us thinking, what are some other films like 365 Days that one can watch. Turns out, there are quite a few risque films like 365 Days, that are actually good films, and have a story, great cinematography. You know, other aspects than two people going at it. We selected 6 other films that are as titillating but with better stories, and are better made. 1. Don Jon Joseph Gordon-Levitt wrote, directed and played the lead in this American rom-com film. Staring Scarlett Johansson, and Julianne Moore, the film is revolves around a character who is addicted to porn, inpsite of having a rather hyperactive *** life. 2. Fifty Shades Of Grey This one just had to make the list. The Fifty Shades books were all everyone was talking about in the early to mid 2010s. Naturally, the film too had piqued everyoneâs interest. Starring Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan the film, apart from some really steamy lovemaking sequences, actually has a decent story. Plus, the cinematography is great as well. 3. Addicted Addicted is actually a good erotic thriller. Although the film starts off rather novicely, and shows a rather happy setting of a family, it takes on a darker turn through the fault lines that modern day familial relationships have developed. 4. White Girl White Girl is a very dark erotic thriller, that frankly gets a little disturbing at times. Leah, the protaganist of the film picks up a drug habit, and falls in love with her dealer. What ensues is a gory, but beautifully shot series of sequences that shows why, certain kinds of highs are best if avoided. 5. Nymphomaniac Volume 1 & 2 The final part of Lars Von Trier's Depression trilogy, Nymphomaniac was preceded by Antichrist and Melancholia, two of the most disturbing films ever to have been made. Nymphomaniac follows the story of a woman whoâs a diagnosed nymphomaniac, who recounts her rather adventurous life. The reason why we recommend watching the films, is because it actually lays bare the fact just how complicated and ultimately, conventional human relationships can get. And yes, of course, there are tons of steamy scenes which further extend the hypothesis that the trilogy tries to put forth. 6. Cruel Intentions The first Cruel Intentions, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, Reese Witherspoon will genuinely go down as a classic. The film isnât as much of a thriller as it is a drama. However, that does not take away from the fact that it is rather raunchy, and slightly unnerving at times. View the full article
  11. Watching movies with your parents that are more like Hum Saath Saath Hai or a bit more advanced like Rockstar, still seems okay because, well, less awkward scenes. But if a movie is stirred with a lot of adult content, then you are bound to get those stern glances with a lot of embarrassing moments. These prospects do change as we grow up but some movies still need to be watched all alone or just with your friends and without parental presence. So, here's a list of movies that are just for you to watch! 1. Masti (Series) Masti as a series became a sleaze-fest. Even though the first instalment was hilarious, the next ones just had deteriorated to include vulgar scenes which were just uncalled for. While the plot is quite funny, the movie is a gamut of adult scenes with double meaning dialogues, which you should just avoid watching with your parents. 2. MatrubhoomiA movie that talks explicitly on the subject of sexual atrocities that are faced by the women of rural India, Matrubhoomi is definitely a must-watch. This non-commercial movie is the first feature film based on female infanticide, which is quite noteworthy and real. You should watch this now, just not with parents around. © Wikipedia 3. Ragini MMS (Series)A horror movie mixed with a lot of adult content seems like a good idea, right? There is Ragini MMS for that which is not just the scariest movie made but is also a combination of a lot of steamy scenes, which will definitely make you feel all awkward if your parents are around. 4. Below Her MouthThe title, Below Her Mouth, in itself, is provocative and gives a good idea about the concept of the film. But just in case you want to know a tad bit more about it then it's a movie based on erotic romance, which is about a lesbian couple who embark on a steamy love affair. Watch the trailer, before you decide to take the plunge! 5. 365 DNIA recent movie that went live on a digital platform, 365 dni or 365 days, has left the audience all bothered with so many steamy scenes. This erotic, romantic drama is about a relationship that goes way beyond love and you would witness multiple, ***-filled plots in it, which makes even Fifty Shades Of Grey a tamed version in front of this one. 6. LoveLove is a French film, an erotic drama, which you should not even dare watch in front of your desi parents. This movie has *** scenes recorded on a camera, and hence it's best to steer clear of making this one a public affair. 7. Aastha: In The Prison Of SpringImagining a movie based on explicit raunchy scenes back in time is just a little hard to digest but Aastha made waves, being one of the most unanticipated films of Bollywood. Portraying the role of a married woman who then becomes a prostitute, this movie was severely criticised and yet became a huge success. Kudos to Rekha, for pulling this off so well! © Wikipedia 8. GirlfriendWhen a movie includes a lot of adult scenes, it hardly takes time for it to become a controversial fare. So when a Bollywood movie called Girlfriend was made, there was no doubt, it would all stir up again. 12. We, the kids from the 90s, have seen a transition and we are products of that change. Back in those days, it was only TV that we could rely on for our recreation on a daily basis. Well, TV shows in those days, unlike today, were clean and family-friendly, for that matter. Cut to the present, we have shows that you just cannot watch with your families thanks to the many 'intimate' scenes being shown, which is okay, however, absolutely not when you are sitting with you mom and dad! We might have become liberal but still, seeing a show with our families that has the lead actors indulging in a lovemaking scene, does make us a bit uncomfortable. Just imagine watching GOT with parents, the very thought can be disastrous. Nowadays, even Indian TV shows have taken a bolder approach so, some parents arenât comfortable with the idea of children seeing such shows with them. But the 90s did offer some shows that you could simply watch with your families without any filters or concerns. Take a look at these Indian shows that you could or still can easily watch on the TV along with your parents without filters: 1. Ramayan This, surely, would have been a part of our Sunday ritual with our parents for many of us. The show inculcates the values of brotherhood and talks of many such values that we need to imbibe. For obvious reasons, Ramayan can be watched anytime with your families. It was re-aired recently because of the lockdown situation and even millennials found an instant connection with the show. 2. Mahabharat Barring the Draupadi chir-haran scene, this show explains the way to lead an exemplary life in the present world and can easily be watched with your parents without any filters and in fact, this also added to the weekend rituals wherein families used to together and watch it on TV. 3. Hum Paanch The story revolves around an ordinary yet amusing family that consists of Anand Mathur, his second wife Bina Mathur and his five daughters. It was a treat to see how those five daughters left no chance to make sure that their parents had a tough day. The show, obviously, had no raunchy scenes and made for a perfect family sitcom as it showed an empowering side of women. Hum Paanch was one of those serials that received a cult status with its content which everyone in the family found relatable. 4. Dekh Bhai Dekh The show was based on a family with three generations and how they faced the ups and downs in life with a comic backdrop. This surely made for a family watch and you could see it with your family without even thinking twice about it. 5. Shrimaan Shrimati The popular 90s show Shrimaan Shrimati, which starred Reema Lagoo, Jatin Kanakia, Rakesh Bedi and Archana Puran Singh is still one of those cult shows that you can watch with your families anytime. It was indeed funny to see how Koki (Reema Lagoo) and Prema (Archana Puran Singh) took their husbands' cases on a regular basis. The banters were light and genuinely funny. This is also among those lucky few shows that were re-aired because of the current lockdown situation. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Archana said, âIâm extremely happy that a show whose humour has survived to date is finally going to be seen by the generation which is in many ways is starved of genuinely funny and well-written humorous shows today. Even though it was made three decades ago, it has survived the test of time and [has therefore been] reconsidered.â So, enjoy these shows once again with your families because they wonât and canât ever disappoint you! 16. There's so much going on in the world right now - a pandemic, basically the entire world under lockdown, all of us trying to work and survive while the anxiety of being part of a historical event is trying to take over us. In short, it's been a shitty year so far. So sometimes, it's nice to take a break and watch something very calming and aesthetically pleasing so that we can take our minds away from stuff, even if for a little while. Here comes in Studio Ghibli and their wholesome movies. The Japanese animation studio has some of the best movies that will make you feel like you're part of that universe. Here are some of our top picks that can be streamed online right now. 1. Howl's Moving Castle Based in a fictional kingdom where both magic and early 20th-century technology are prevalent with a backdrop of a war with another kingdom, the movie has a very strong anti-war message. Actually, the director - Hayao Miyazaki - made the movie after being outraged about the United States' invasion of Iraq in 2003. There are witches, there's a magical curse, there's a freaking castle that walks, and a talking fire. And, the English dubbed version has Christian Bale voicing the character of Howl. 2. Spirited Away The Oscar-winning movie is about a 10-year-old girl who, while moving to a new neighbourhood, ends up trapped in a world of spirits where her parents have been turned into pigs to be slaughtered later. Now, she has to work for the witch Yubaba and find a way to free herself and her parents and return to the human world. Even though it released in 2001, it is, to this date, the highest-grossing movie in Japan. 3. My Neighbor Totoro The 1988 movie was not only a hit back then but has also garnered a cult following in the years following its release. The movie is about two sisters and their interactions with friendly wood spirits in postwar rural Japan. The movie's titular character of Totoro has become a cultural icon over the years, and it's even the Studio's mascot. 4. Kiki's Delivery Service The 1989 movie is basically about a 13 years old girl named Kiki, who happens to be a witch and follows the journey of her leaving home for her independence with her pet black cat Jiji. She uses her ability to fly to her advantage and earn a living. The movie came out a year after My Neighbor Totoro and is much loved by the Japanese as well as the international audience to this day. 5. Princess Mononoke Set centuries ago in a Japan where fantasy elements exist, the movie follows a young Prince Ashitaka, who's stuck in a struggle between the gods of a forest and the humans who consume its resources. The movie was released back in 1997 but is still one of the most famous movies by Studio Ghibli. View the full article
  17. When you talk about the Indian culture, two entities lead the way amongst other things: Bollywood and cricket. In the past the two entities have come together on multiple occasions and almost every single time, they have not failed to impress. Having said that, because Indian cricket fans are basically crazy and deserve the best of the best, we have shortlisted seven films and web series that you can appreciate while sitting at home: 1. Lagaan The first commercial hit in the country which took the game of cricket as the centerpiece of the story, Lagaan continues to be a fan favourite in the genre. Set in 1893, with British rule in India, the movie presents a unique way in which oppressed farmers struggle to get rid of excessive taxes levied upon them by the Empire. To put it in one sentence, Bhuvan (Aamir Khan) takes it upon himself to assemble a team of players to play a cricket match against Captain Russellâs men in a bid to get rid of three years of tax-paying. The film was not only appreciated in India but also got international acclimation as it became only the third Indian movie to get nominated at the Oscars. 2. Iqbal A touching story of speech-and-hearing-impaired fast bowler who lives and breathes to play for the Indian cricket team, Iqbal shows the relationship between an athlete and his coach, despite their personal differences, working together through multiple hurdles towards success and glory. Shreyas Talpade as Iqbal and Naseeruddin Shah as Mohit (Iqbalâs drunk coach) are absolutely amazing together and do a great job of bringing out the best of emotions from the audience (basically, I cried at the end). 3. Roar Of The Lion Now towards some serious stuff, Hotstarâs docu-series, Roar of The Lion gives an insight about the Indian Premier League franchise, Chennai Super Kings, that made its way back into the league after serving a two-year ban for match-fixing allegations. Former Indian skipper and CSK captain is the star of the show and out of his trust for the director, Kabir Khan, opens up about the scandal that he refers to as the âmost difficult and depressingâ phase of his life. 4. Inside Edge Ah, the cheeky web-series that every cricket fan talks about when they are together. Inside Edge was Prime Videosâs first Indian original series which talks about the behind-the-scenes happenings of the âPowerplay Leagueâ and how the lust for money and power makes individuals indulge in some âunsportsmanlike activities.â The first season of the show was well received by the critics and audience alike and was even nominated for the Best Drama series at 46th International Emmy Awards. 5. Cricket Fever Netflix decided to enter the world of cricket based docu-series with âCricket Feverâ following the lives of the core members of the IPL franchise, Mumbai Indians. It deep-dives into the lives of team owners Akash Ambani and Nita Ambani and moves towards focusing on their skipper Rohit Sharma and other athletes like Hardik and Krunal Pandya. The episodes show how the management and the players work towards forming that one unit which would go on to win the 2019 edition of the Indian T20 league and become the most successful franchise in league history. 6. MS Dhoni-The Untold Story A movie this time, MS Dhoni - The Untold Story captures the former Indian skipperâs life in totality. Right from Dhoniâs days as a young boy, when he was interested in playing football and was the goalkeeper in his school, to his marriage, to winning the 2011 World Cup. Actor Sushant Singh Rajputâs portrayal of the Indian cricketer and Dhoniâs massive fanbase made this movie a grand success both commercially and critically and became the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2016. 7. Jersey The tale of an extremely talented athlete unable to make his way into mainstream cricket due to politics and losing his livelihood after losing his government job on false charges of bribery, Jersey is a Telugu-language sports drama weaves a story wonderfully around life of Arjun (Nani) and a promise that he makes to his son Nani (Ronit Kamra). The story was received by the critics who not only praised the drama and the story but more importantly the bonding between the father and son in the film. A Hindi remake of the film with the same title is scheduled to release in August 2020 with Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur in lead roles. View the full article
  18. The quarantine mode is on and while some of us are doing fine because the anti social life was already a way of living for many of us, most of the other people are having an extremely hard time managing their schedules. Today is the âJanta Curfewâ day and the entire nation is observing it by staying indoors, which basically means we are all locked up with families and suddenly we donât know what to do with all this time and people around us. 19. Malls are shut, concerts are postponed and most of us are working from home - quarantine is real and we're in this together. But hey, lounging around at home does have its upsides, my favourite being binge-watching like there's no tomorrow (and not regret it). While I was at it, I made a list of five must-watch crime-dramas that will keep you on the edge of your seat and make you root for justice. Badla (2019) Red Chillies Entertainment A young, married entrepreneur (played by Tapsee Pannu) wakes up in a hotel room, only to find herself locked with her lover's dead body. She gets caught in a web of accusations and heads to a reputed lawyer (played by Amitabh Bachchan) for help. Packed with mystery, suspense, and fear, this short & slick thriller is an all-time favourite. Bhaukaal (2020) MX Player Set in Muzaffarnagar of 2003, MX Player's latest show Bhaukaal is the story of police officer Naveen Sikhera (played by Mohit Raina) who gets posted to the sin city as the new SP (Superintendent of Police). He makes justice his prime goal amidst unforgiving gang lords, bribery, corruption, and the infamous UP mafia. Inspired by true events, the story of Bhaukaal is based on the life of IPS officer Navniet Sekera, who eradicated gangsters and infamous mafias from Uttar Pradesh. All the episodes of Bhaukaal are now streaming on MX Player, for free. Risk (2017) Set in modern-day Mumbai, the film revolves around a Bangkok based don, Khalid Bin Jamal, who has the political big guns, right from the Home Minister to the Police Commissioner under his control. Things start getting out of hand when Jamal frames an honest police officer in a murder scandal and uses him as a pawn for his shrewd schemes. Starring Vinod Khanna, Randeep Hooda and Tanushree Dutta, this underrated thriller packs a punch and doesn't disappoint. Gangaajal (2003) Entertainment One Pvt. Ltd. In a world full of corruption, people like SP Amit Kumar (played by Ajay Devgn) make us believe in the power of authority, honesty and justice. In Gangaajal, he's posted to Tezpur - a city struggling with violence, crime, bribery, and favouritism. Kumar takes law and order in his hands and works towards making 'justice' the new normal. Manorama Six Feet Under (2007) Shemaroo Entertainment The film revolves around Satyaveer (played by Abhay Deol), a public works engineer living in a small town in Rajasthan. Things take an unexpected turn when an irrigation minister's wife bribes him to collect evidence against her husband who is having an extra-marital affair. Little did he know he was being deceived himself. Which are your go-to movies for a home-quarantine binge-watch sesh? Let us know in the comments section! View the full article
  20. When it comes to style, Saif Ali Khan represents the epitome of what most men normally would think of themselves. Which basically means that for someone who really doesn't care that much about what he's wearing, or how has he styled himself, he still manages to look dapper and stylish as anything. © Viral Bhayani While most men like us live in a delusion of our own making, Saif actually has the ability to pull basically anything and everything off with great style and flair. Basically, whether he is dressed in a surreal, bespoke suit, or a basic set of denim jeans and kolhapuris, Saif just owns everything with an air of confidence and authority that is very rare to find. A quality that surely befits a nawab. © Viral Bhayani Is it any wonder, therefore, that even when he is dressed in something as basic as pyjamas, he somehow manages to turn heads somehow? © Viral Bhayani Saif was recently spotted in Mumbai wearing a very basic pair of pyjamas and a t-shirt with quirky prints, something that people would normally wear to the gym, or would wear when they are chilling out at home. © Viral Bhayani What makes this outfit of his worth talking about, is his choice of accessory. With a rather seemingly basic pair of sweatpants from Superdry, Saif is wearing a rather exquisite watch from Rolex. © Viral Bhayani The particular watch that Saif is wearing is an older version (25 years, to be exact) of the Oyster Deepsea in 44 mm, and it indeed is every horologist's wet dream, simply because of how rare it is. The watch was a part of a series of watches that are designed and mainly catered for mariners and people who frequently dive deep into the sea, for scientific studies, exploration, or just for rescue and salvage operations. © Rolex With a self-winding mechanical movement, the Deepsea is capable of working rather well at a depth of 12800 feet or 3900 metres. © Viral Bhayani Like all Rolexes, the Deepsea has the Perpetual, or Rolex's patented sweeping movement. This means that the second's hand, instead of moving in the familiar tick-tock pattern of regular watches, has a sweeping and gradual motion. © Viral Bhayani The current itertion of the particular piece that we see Saif wearing is listed for Rs 8.5 Lakhs. Good luck finding the exact same piece that you see on Saif's wrist in the retail market today. Because of their high demand, and the legacy that the Deepsea has, and the rarity of piece that is in mint condition, these timepieces are extremely rare and pricey to come by. © Viral Bhayani When you consider all this and the fact that Saif is wearing the Deepsea with basic pyjamas, you can't help but notice the eccentricity of Saif's choices. All we can say is “shauk badi cheez hai…” View the full article
  21. If there's anyone who knows how to amp up his wardrobe with innovative style statements and come out as the best dresser across the globe, it is Nick Jonas. Be it his look for his gigs or red carpet events or even at the airport for that matter, he clearly knows how to rise above the norm. © Viral Bhayani Aside from his popular music albums, he has also demonstrated his penchant for rich timepieces. These days he has been favouring his assemblage of Rolex watches quite a lot while travelling around the world for his gigs or public appearances. © Viral Bhayani Recently, when Nick and Priyanka Chopra Jonas were heading back to the US, they were spotted wearing quirky ensembles to the airport. They both turned up looking well co-ordinated. Nick chose to elevate his airport game with his Gucci's checkered jacket, coupled with a basic white T-shirt and pants. Add to that, his white sneakers which added a whole new dimension to his look. On the other hand, Priyanka was spotted wearing a floral shirt paired with cropped bell bottoms and black blazer. Needless to say, they know how to make a statement, even at airports. © Viral Bhayani © Rolex Nick's sense of style is not limited by norms and has extended to rev up his off-duty style with his watch choices. After wearing a super expensive watch for Ambanis' Holi Party, the recent one that we spotted on his wrist is the Rolex GMT Master II 18k Yellow Gold Black Dial. This model is designed to show different time zones, which makes it convenient during intercontinental flights. The GMT Master is a series that also has a bi-directional rotatable 24-hour graduated bezel. The golden bracelet is a perfect alchemy of style and function, that allows the wearer to increase its length for additional comfort. The watch also shows its best features in the dark, thanks to its chroma light display that makes it easier to see the time at all hours. © Rolex Naturally, since it's Rolex, this luxury watch is available approximately for $29,000 which comes to around Rs 22 lakh in Indian currency. Add to that, the import duties and customs and you would easily end up spending around Rs 29 lakh on this piece. © Viral Bhayani With that sort of shine on his wrist, Nick makes a perfect statement with his high-profile watches and shows that he is an A-lister when it comes to his collection. All in all, this watch complements Nick's airport garb and is one heck of an accessory that we have seen this year. Well done, Nick! View the full article
