LAHORE: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif chaired on Monday a meeting at Model Town to review current political situation of the country.

The session was attended by Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif, Hamza Sharif, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, provincial ministers and local administration incharges.

It was brought under light in the meeting to run the system of the municipalties on the basis of integration.

Nawaz Sharif in his directions said that municipalities are for the welfare of the public and they should toil continuously to bring relief to people.

According to sources, before the meeting Nawaz Sharif held a meeting with the CM Punjab.

Recently, the former prime minister held his political journey from the Punjab House (Islamabad) along with a huge caravan comprising hundreds of vehicles and thousands of supporters towards his hometown, Lahore. The rally was aimed at showing political power before the general elections in 2018.

Former prime minister Sharif on Tuesday filed three petitions in the Supreme Court to review the Panama Papers verdict which resulted in his disqualification.

Nawaz Sharif had stepped down as the prime minister of Pakistan on July 28 after being disqualified from holding public office by the Supreme Court in a landmark decision on the Panama Papers case.
