Dadagiri On The Streets Sourav Ganguly Enthralls Locals In Gully Cricket

It's been over eight years since we saw Sourav Ganguly with a bat in his hand. One of the most successful Indian captains, Ganguly has been missed by cricket fans as much as the great Sachin Tendulkar. While his flambouyant square cuts got everyone drooling, his exquisite cover drives equally got the commentators excited.

Though we aren't going to see the Prince of Kolkata playing in the Indian colours again, fans will surely be ecstatic to see his latest exploits on the streets of North Kolkata in what appears to be 'Dadagiri' in gully cricket.

The president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) took some time from his busy schedule to join some neighbourhood boys in a game of gully cricket in the narrow streets of Kolkata.

For a cricketer who retired from professional cricket in 2008, Ganguly's poise and great footwork will undoubtedly take fans back to the old glory days. From straight drives and hook shots to hard cuts and lofted shots, the southpaw can be seen playing them all.

While the locals were all worried about their window panes, no one reaaly seemed to complain as they understandably became mere spectators to Ganguly's artistry.

The video also proves that no matter where he wields the willow, the sight of Ganguly playing his shots with the same grace and elegance, even today, is more than what a cricket-frenzied fan could ask for. So, thank you, Dada!
